    Custom Cold Stone Creamery Cake
    Nathan S.

I wanted to surprise my daughter with some ice cream. We walked down a few blocks to the local cold stone creamery. The shop is nice. The service was good. The shakes and ice cream were delicious! The problem is the price. The price seems to be overinflated for a milkshake. One regular size milkshake which is about 20 oz, was priced for $7.20. Good but overpriced.

Coldstone ice cream is the key to world peace. Need an ice cream cake for an office birthday party? Coldstone's got your back! Need a late afternoon pick-me-up during a stressful Monday? Coldstone's got your back! There's a couple tables inside, but plentiful seating outdoors. I would recommend to take your creation and enjoy it outside! First world problem: the signature creations start melting pretty fast, so start licking once you get it! Sticky fingers don't mix well with smartphones.

Always great ice cream here. My only issue with this location is that it's really short staffed. We had like 8 people in line with only one person working. The slow service isn't the employee's fault. This manager of this location should really consider having 2 people working at all times.

I stopped coming here for a while because the poor customer service made the place incredibly forgettable to the point where I forgot there was even a dessert place on Century Blvd besides the horrid Yogi Castle. I swear, for so long I didn't like coming here because I'd spend forever waiting for someone to come out of the back room and when they did, they'd seem impatient and annoyed while I asked questions and gave my order. That must've been about 3, maybe even 4 years ago. Now, in 2016, I figured I'd try it out again after having dinner with a friend at Sabai Sabai. It was a wonderful experience. We were so happy. I wish I had gotten the name of the gentleman who filled my order. He was tall, African American, kind of long black hair I think. He was so nice! I asked him if the Oreo Overload was good and he gave me an honest answer. He asked how me and my friend were doing as he mixed the ice cream, made conversation, and seemed like he really enjoyed what he was doing. I even made a point to tell him that he was the nicest person I had seen working there. He told me it's hard not to be nice and have fun while you're making ice cream. I like that kind of attitude! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the ice cream is pretty pricey. For 2 Love-It's in chocolate waffle cones, we paid about $17, plus we left a tip for the great service.

I felt like a kid ordering this... So excited. I ate every last lick.

As I drove in the lot, I could tell the place was busy (a line in their drive-thru and lots of folks at the entrance (ordering or picking up, I was not sure). I was willing to wait. I saw they had some June specials and a few caught my eye: Brookie - Upside Down Pineapple Cake Jamaican Me Crazy Key Lime Pie Mixed Berry Cheesecake Strawberry Matcha Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Ube There were some others, but I could not decide on which one I wanted (wished I could try all the above). I settled on the one called "Jamaican Me Crazy". The employee described it as: Coconut Ice Cream with Fudge Swirl and Almonds. I only got 1 small scoop since I was trying it for the first time - it was good. Next time, I will need to get 2 scoops as I really enjoyed the flavor of that one. The line in front went very quickly as I sat and ate my ice cream on the premises. There were several employees tending to the customers. I wonder if I can make it back before the end of June to try some of those other flavors, seeing that I have a $1 off coupon.

I noticed they added more lawn chairs since the weathers nice! The staff is always helpful and quick at serving orders. They have a bunch of flavors to pick from and honestly it can be sort of a hit or miss. The classics are always great though like the cookies and cream or butter pecan. I got the cherry vanilla and honestly that's my bad because I thought it would be real cherries not maraschino cherries lol. The mixed berry cheesecake was so good though, it had a mixed berry jam and graham crackers swirled throughout. The pistachio was another slight miss for us. I appreciate the amount of pistachios sprinkled throughout but the base was giving amaretto/almond flavoring as opposed to a true pistachio ice cream. (I also don't like amaretto) so that doesn't help lol but overall glad I tried the flavors and now I can try different ones next time!

There were endless fruity and chocolate combinations to choose from. I had a chuckle at their Luck O' The Irish flavor, a leprechaun inspired mix of mint Oreo and Lucky Charms. There was a sign stating that samples were limited to two, but I appreciated that the employees let us try a few extra given the overwhelming variety. *Lavender Honey: leaned far more heavily into honey than lavender. I was disappointed by how faint the floral notes were. The base was overly milky and dominated by sweetness rather than any delicate herbal flavor. *Cherry Blossom: suffered from the same issue of muted flavors. Supposedly a rose water and cherry combination, neither ingredient made much of an impression on the base. The rose lacked any fragrance and the cherry failed to provide either tartness or brightness. *Salted Caramel: slightly too aggressive with the sea salt, though it could have worked if the caramel had more depth. Instead, the caramel lacked any rich, toasted flavor, leaving the overall profile rather flat. The variety was entertaining, but the execution fell short. Many of the flavors sounded far more exciting than they actually tasted. The mix-ins and toppings needed to be incorporated more generously, and the bases themselves required stronger infusions to carry the advertised flavors. In the end, the playful names were more memorable than the ice cream itself.

When I pulled in, it was nice to see several parking spaces available. On a much sunnier day, I wouldn't have been as lucky as there are only 17 parking spots, 2 of which are for handicapped patrons. I ordered from this part of the menu: Cones and Cups Choices: Cake Cone, Sugar Cone, Waffle Cone, or a Cup Ice Cream Flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, Black Raspberry, Twist. They have several toppings and I wanted to get Butterscotch or Hot Fudge, but the employee reminded me of something: their ice cream is soft serve, so if I wanted to add toppings to my cone, it would need to be placed upside down in a cup. I settled on their jimmies instead (aka sprinkles) and got it on a small vanilla ice cream cone. I had a choice of chocolate or rainbow jimmies and went with the latter. Within a minute or less, I realized the small cone I selected was rather tiny and it had a wallop of ice cream on top. Within seconds, I could see it was about to melt right after it was handed to me, so I grabbed as many napkins as I needed. As I sat on one of their many picnic tables and proceeded to lick one side of this massive cone in front of me, I could feel the drips on the other side of my tiny cone, and this wasn't even on a hot day. I "tried" to be quick but ended up having some of the ice cream melt to the ground or on my fingers. Napkins to the rescue!!! Once I felt I was in control of this cone, the ice cream was good, plus you can't go wrong with vanilla. I was still glad I visited.

Unfortunately, my family never even got the chance to try the ice cream. My husband and daughter had never been to Rita's before, and I had only been there once or twice myself. After a wonderful Father's Day celebration, I thought stopping by Rita's would be the perfect way to end the evening. The store's posted closing time was 10:00 PM, and we arrived around 9:36 PM. After standing in line for nearly 30 minutes with a toddler, we finally reached the counter. Instead of being greeted warmly, I was met with what felt like an annoyed "What do you want?" and an intimidating attitude from the cashier. As someone who has worked as a cashier before, I understand how important a first impression is. A simple friendly greeting can make a huge difference in a customer's experience. I knew exactly what my family wanted to order, but throughout the interaction I felt rushed. The cashier commented that the store should already be closed and repeatedly pushed me to make decisions quickly. When she said she hadn't heard part of my order, I politely repeated it. However, she turned around, prepared a vanilla-and-chocolate swirl that I had not ordered, and placed it on the counter in a manner that felt dismissive and disrespectful. At that point, I told her that she was being rude and decided not to continue with the purchase. I was honestly shocked by the entire interaction. What should have been a pleasant family treat turned into an uncomfortable experience that left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I did not get the employee's name or a manager's name because the situation caught me completely off guard. I cannot comment on the quality of the ice cream because we never got the opportunity to try it. My disappointment is solely with the level of customer service we received that evening. I hope management reviews how customers are being treated, especially during the final hour of business. Customers who arrive before closing should still be treated with courtesy and professionalism
