Today I just felt like I needed a good old sweet treat after a quick run to Wegmans for my weekly staples... I LOVE IT kind of waffle bowl filled with French Vanilla...strawberries, EXTRA strawberries, white chocolate chips and marshmallows. Yes, indeed. I made it to cycling 3 times this week so I was showing off tonight! Hahahaaaa!!! I have no complex about the location...clean, 2 people working and I'm sure they were ready to get off and then to see my happy self coming through the doors- they probably felt some time of way lol...Lord knows I would have...but I hope my energy rubbed off on them and my tip made it worth the while to them! Cheers! Happy Yelping!!

My Mama wanted Coldstone so I went about 8:00pm! And let me tell you the customer service by Destiny was greeat! She made eye contact, very welcoming, she & a coworker spoke Highly about the new flavor Cinnamon Roll Bliss and the Banana Pudding milkshake from Chick-fil-A very conversational & laughter. I tried a sample definitely wasn't bad at all. My Mom got the founder's favorite cheesecake ice cream mixed with strawberry w all the founder's favorite toppings with strawberry syrup on the side. My Boyfriend got the Cinnamon Roll Bliss but got cookie dough instead of cake or cookie dough ice cream one of those! Lol. The ambience was cleaned ,several ppl were sitting down and a lot of foot traffic coming in & out and it was a niiiice night to be out and for ice cream! . For customer service like Destiny and her Coworker I'd come back that's how customer service works! So thank you Destiny and Coworker for your wonderful service !

So literally, I just got home from Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes, and I went there on happenstance after…read moremy sewing class because I was so close to Sonic. We do not have one where I live, so I naturally get excited every time I'm near one, and I make it my mission to stop and get a slushie. I traditionally get the lemon slush or the lime slush. But unbeknownst to me, Sonic redid their menu. Since there isn't one close to my house, I had to update the app and sign back in. Then I tried to order my usual drink, but because it had been more than 90 days since my last visit, my previous order was gone. So I started looking through the menu, only to realize the lemon frozen slush and the lime frozen slush were no longer there. I literally spent over 30 minutes sitting in the Sonic stall scrolling through the app because you have to order through it to get the half-price slushes. Now they have these new slushes with some type of tea concentrate, and I already know I don't like green tea. I didn't want to risk paying for something I probably wouldn't enjoy, especially since there wasn't an option to sample it. So I opened my Maps app to see what was nearby. That's when I noticed that a young lady I'd been following on Instagram had her Italian ice shop close by. I thought, "Oh my goodness!" It was less than a mile away, so I drove over to Killa Italian Ice & Smoothie and picked up some lemonade and a slice of cake. After that, I thought, "Let me see what other small businesses I can support while I'm over here." I wasn't really interested in any of the other food options because they were things I could already get in Woodbridge. So I searched for bakeries and found Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes, just a short drive away. I walked in, and to my surprise, they had a full restaurant menu in addition to their baked goods. Let me tell you, these people were so amazingly welcoming the moment I walked in. "Hey, sis!" "Hi, welcome!" I immediately felt at home, and I honestly haven't felt that way in an establishment in a very long time. I ended up telling the young lady behind the register about my whole Sonic adventure, and she said, "Well, let me let you try my chicken curry salad." Now, I didn't have the heart to tell her that I don't like chicken salad, so I said, "Okay." Let me tell you...that chicken curry salad was banging. I was like, "Oh wow. This is good." As we kept talking, I looked over the menu and realized I didn't want my usual comfort foods like pizza, collard greens, or macaroni. I wanted to try something different. So I ordered their Chicken with Attitude with rice and cabbage. The chicken had a Middle Eastern rustic flavor. It was roasted, incredibly tender, and unlike anything I'd had before. It's definitely a different taste and probably an acquired one, but I really enjoyed it. Although I'd only had that sample of the chicken curry salad, it was so good that I ordered half a pound of it to take home, along with a piece of pound cake. Like I said at the beginning, I DO NOT EAT chicken salad, but it completely surprised me. But beyond the food, they brought me a complimentary lemonade while I was sitting there eating. It tasted so fresh, like freshly squeezed lemon with other fresh fruit over ice. It was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Everywhere throughout the restaurant were little signs about genuine kindness. The whole place just felt welcoming. Being from Alabama, I grew up with Southern hospitality. You make eye contact, greet people, and make them feel at home. That's not meant to discredit businesses in DC, Maryland, or Virginia. This area is a melting pot of people from all over the world, and culturally, not everyone expresses hospitality the same way. But when I walked into Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes, every single person embodied that welcoming spirit. It wasn't just one employee. It was the people behind the counter, the people coming out of the kitchen, and even those arriving for work. I just remember thinking, "Wow." I felt safe. I felt welcomed. I felt wanted. I felt at home. I felt like family. More than the food, I felt like I had found my tribe. I found my village. I honestly wish I lived closer because, if I did, I'd probably be there every day. Since moving to this area in 2009, that's the feeling I've been missing. If I could recommend Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes a million times over, it wouldn't just be because of the food. It would be because of the sense of belonging. It's that feeling of walking into a place where everybody knows your name, even when they don't. If you're going through something, this is the place to go. Not just to feed your belly, but to feed your soul.

The service was amazing. Very friendly and they offered lots of information about their choices…read more There is seating inside but when I went there was no AC so it was super hot inside. They had fans going to def too hot to stay. I would say everything I ordered was okay. So it's worth stopping if it's convenient but not enough to go too far out the of your way. I got jerk wings (but there was hardly any seasoning on them), peach cobbler (was mostly just peaches that tasted canned), cookies and cream cheesecake, and glazed pound cake.

The only major shock that I had was buying hot food and bringing it at home. The sticker shock on my food had me frozen and stalled for a moment then I got passed it. They have everything in the store just a variety is varieties of produce and cheese and meat which I don't eat. The breads are beautiful; I've spent more time standing in the aisle than I should have just looking over stuff. Do not go to the grocery store hungry that's a general statement for all grocery stores, but particularly Wegmans. I was walking down the aisles planning in my head how big a sandwich I can make or should I go to the deli bar and have them make the sandwich. There's so many products to choose from such as bread, condiments, cheese produce, and a vegetable even my faux meats. Wegmans has their own brand of plant base meats. I can take all of the ingredients home and build it as big as I want and as sloppy as I want. It was just too much to consider but I'm glad I encountered Wegmans. I'm gonna miss it when I go back to the West Coast. My suitcase will be full of Wegmans food instead of souvenirs from the various sites of the area.‍‍

Going on a Friday night I just knew it would be packed, but surprisingly it was easy to get a spot at a table near the bar. The wait for a table in the main restaurant was running about 40 mins, but would have risked not being seated before the kitchen closed. Despite the bar being busy, we were greeted and served pretty quickly. The DC tap water is my go to drink and you definitely get your moneys worth. My husband ordered the hurricane and was very satisfied with the amount of liquor he could actually taste. For meals I had to get the tiger wings. I love that sauce so much and wish they sold the sauce by itself. Also got a side of the greens which were tasty and not overcooked, I just feel like the flavor is something I would get tired of after a while. My husband ordered the jambalaya and it was also good. When we lived in the area we used to frequent the restaurant for happy hour. They have remained consistent and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the DMV.

The buffet didn't disappoint with everything from the omelette station, carving station (roast beef and turkey), pasta, jambalaya, fried chicken and all the breakfast favorites. The restaurant is very spacious with lots of levels that are 2-3 steps up or down. Be careful to catch them all and not stumble. The service was my star deduction. The wait was 1.5 hours (added our names remotely) but upon arrival there seemed to be confusion. A server never came to take drink orders or provide silverware. We even got our first plates with nothing then had to ask the manager. She had someone come by but it was strange for such a busy day to forget us or not have assigned servers. Overall, the food was inconsistent. Some things were bland and others seasoned very well. The turkey sausage was mid and grits had no flavor - cheese grits at that. Maybe ordering off the menu will fair better. Great value for the price!
