We watched an employee pick a brownie up with her bare fingers to put into an order. Then she did it in another order. She ran her fingers all through her hair, proceeded to eat something from the toppings and then took the next customer. I only gave this place 2 stars because they're clean and the service wasn't terrible. Yes, Cold Stone Creamery has a lot of flavors and mix--in options. They have cakes and cupcakes and those weird cookie sandwiches that have icing (or maybe it's ice cream, wh knows) between two chocolate chip cookies. They've got variety. You can even fill some of their own cartons up with ice cream However, I feel like they've let their variety get in the way of their quality. I mean, it's neat and all that they have an anti griddle, that's pretty cool, but. The way they price, you figure would get at least good quality ice cream, if not a bigger portion. I paid about $11 for two tiny cups of mediocre ice cream. Dairy Queen or just store brand carton of ice cream would be way better, especially for the price. Want better quality and more ice cream? Go to Emak and Bolio's instead. They're less corporate and so they haven't sacrificed their quality of food. Plus, way bigger portions. I got nearly 3x as much better ice cream there for the same price. And I actually got a chocolate dipped cone, instead of just a tiny bowl. TL;DR: You're better off getting store bought or Emak and Bolio's. It's too expensive for such mediocre quality. read more

Good French Vanilla ice cream but they were out of maraschino cherries and the reason I went there was for French vanilla ice cream with maraschino cherries. Actually, I was hoping they were one of the rare Cold Stones with Vanilla Bean, but they were not. Posters throughout the store mocked me with their images of maraschino cherries, yet there were none to be had. Yes, I was offered cherry pie filling, but we all know that cherry pie filling is not an acceptable substitute for the maraschino. The store itself was clean and service efficient. read more

Favorite ice cream place in town. Love the French vanilla or cake batter ice cream with cookie dough and fudge mix-ins. Always get the gotta have it size because I can handle rich desserts. Ice cream deserves 5 stars but bumped down to 4 stars for the price- I always ask myself why I pay upwards of $8 for a dish of ice cream, but it hasn't stopped me yet. read more

We stopped into the Normal restaurant around 6:00 on July 3rd, to pick up a cake to celebrate the holiday tomorrow. In addition to the cake, my husband and I planned to share a large Founder's Flavor ice cream. Last time the large melted all over as we tried to eat it, so we asked if the ice cream could be put in two cups this time to prevent the melting mess. We were told that it could be put in two cups, but it would be an additional sixty nine cents for the extra bowl. Though we love the ice cream treat, we chose to skip it.
