Culver's in north Bloomington on Veterans Day this year at lunch was busy but the staff handled everything well and lines kept moving. The dining room was clean and bright. My wife had a single that was an unusual order and I had a double Wisconsin Swiss basket with Gluten Free bun. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals! Especially nice was the free gift for Veterans which was a double chocolate custard that was absolutely fantastic ! We live in southern Illinois but this was convenient on our way to Chicagoland. Their patties are so good!! you can taste the difference in their meat mix/grind compared to that of other fast food places. Food selection is a little better than most fast food chains - they have things like fried chicken, fried walleye dinners in addition to the standard burgers/fries. But food quality is just marginal. The custard is usually good but I had one flavor of the day recently that was strangely 'foamy' not firm and didn't melt. OK, so Culver's is fast Food and-kind of pricey for fast food but since I try to avoid fast food, it is first choice when we're hungry driving down the highway...and well worth the moneyI so I saw them advertise their Tavern beer cheese double burger with bacon and served on a pretzel bun and I told my wife - that looks disgusting...on TV. Snack Packs allow me to indulge in heart clogging goodness without feeling like the good year blimp. They have cheese curds... and they ROCK! Ask for ranch dressing on the side. For an extra $1.10 swap out a lame old fountain drink for a small Concrete Mixer (their version of the Blizzard). Love the options for mix-ins so come back and keep trying new combos! If you don't do the snack pack you'll find yourself paying more money for fast food than you probably wanted to, but the quality kicks McD's butt so i can't complain too much. A fast food/ice cream Midwestern chain restaurant. The "Butterburgers" are extremely tasty, but are probably not the healthiest. The ice cream/frozen custard is pretty thick and good, but a bit pricey. This location has an enormous saltwater fish tank in it that our kids love. There's even a little side room on the back side of the fish tank for all of the rowdy kids. read more

I ordered the pub burger. I was very dissapointed with what I paid for. Absolutely nothing like it was advertised. Crushed into the bottom of the basket was a greasy sticky mess. Six napkins later and I was still having to deal with fingers coated in syrup. This the second bad visit that I have had at this location. The last time my order was incomplete and the drink dispenser was not properly maintained. For the most part the place was clean although the table I sat at was not cleaned properly. Frankly I am surprised that this place would be so sloppy, given the competatve restaurant market in Bloomington. read more

When I go back to visit I usually order a cheeseburger with the works (ketchup, pickle, onion, mustard) and mayonnaise. The onion rings are my favorite side (dipped in ranch, of course).
