It's probably been about 10 years since I've gotten ice cream from a Coldstone. Now that I've been back, I can't believe I went so long without it! The main perk of this location is they are open until 10pm compared to all the other ice cream shops in town that close at 9pm or earlier. They were quite busy on a Thursday night but the line moved quickly. I like all of their signature combination options so you don't have to think very hard to come up with a creative mix of flavors on your own. I got the Cookie Don't You Want Some signature creation which has French vanilla ice cream as the base. It's no wonder this placed is called a "creamery" because creamy is the main word to describe their ice cream. It's delicious! I was offered a cup or cone, I selected a cone but then noticed they charged an extra $1.50 for me to get the cone. It was okay because the ice cream itself is quite cheap for the amount you get. There was a bit of a wait for our ice cream but not too bad considering the line. I wish they had some outdoor tables but we found some concrete slabs to sit on so we could still be outside. Overall, everyone in our group enjoyed their ice cream and we will plan to come back again soon! read more

I do understand that Covid has caused a lot of changes. But in order to justify spending $30 for five Sundaes, it is still the responsibility of the business to try and adjust also. Last week we tried to get some ice cream at 9:46 PM and when we arrived, The workers said they were not taking any orders after 9:45 PM. There was no one in line, there the place was completely empty. I'm not sure how a business can turn the way $30 to make some Sundays because they decided to stop taking orders 15 minutes early. Cold stone has decided to not allow customers come in one at a time and choose ice cream's, that is definitely their choice. But the online ordering system does not allow for mixing of two types of ice cream's. Does not allow The option to choose an ice cream cone with two or three different flavors. The customer service has drastically declined. Yes Covid is a scary thing, but customer service is still essential along with customer Understanding certain issues. I also signed up online for the rewards program, and one of the Perks was to have a Bogo. The instructions said to enter the establishment, let the clerk know you were using the buy one get one free, and apply the reward on the pad. The clerk would not allow this. She said that they were using a touchless system. We were not allowed to touch the pad, however she could do it for us but refused. So again, if you are going to promote a reward system, and offer a free gift, it's up to the business to honor this or find a way to do it. I had really great service here today. I ordered the "one smart brookie" sundae and the girl who helped me knew exactly what went into it, even though I didn't see it anywhere on the menus inside the store. She was super friendly and efficient. I was literally in and out of the store with my ice cream in less than 5 minutes. I asked for my ice cream in a waffle cup and chose the one with rainbow sprinkles because you eat with your eyes. Sometimes I nourish the inner child inside of me and choose something outrageous and today, this sundae was exactly that. This would have been 5 stars except today I learned that rainbow sprinkles are very waxy and gross lol. The bottom of the waffle cup was very good though. I will be back. The staff is friendly takes all safety precautions for COVID and makes sure every customer is helped efficient! You can tell the staff dynamic is good. They're a team. The way they communicated and handled online orders in between each customer in line was impressive. We ordered 2 like it sized chocolate filled strawberry ice creams with a marshmallow mix it, and then their holiday creation: cake batter moose tracks. It has chocolate sauce, cake batter moose track ice cream, yellow cake, strawberries and sprinkles. That one was a love It size. We all enjoyed our ice cream in their indoor eating area, and enjoyed some quality time together! I wish there was more to say but it's ice cream. Hard to believe that Cold Stone Creamery has been in town for while but this our first visit to this place. Firstly, the dining area was rather small, there four tables but not enough chairs. But other than that, the place was cool, literally and figuratively; the ice cream was deliciously creamy. But the best part of this visit was the personable staff, they fairly busy when we got there but the girls were taking care of each customer and orders like a couple of seasoned pros and they both did it with a warm smile. They were both great; our cashier, Kaley R (according to the receipt) was super-friendly and pleasant, a genuine ray of sunshine. Give those gals a raise! read more

I believe that this is now the only location in town, so this place usually has a line, but the line moves fast, and plus the ice cream is worth the wait! There are 3 sizes, the "like it," love it" and the "gotta have it." The price difference is only 50 cents when you go up in size, which makes it very tempting to get the largest size! You can choose between one of their special creations or you can make make your own. I like to do a hybrid, I always order their cheesecake fantasy and substitute the graham crackers for yellow cake and add whipped cream. It is so GOOD!! There are 4 tables inside where you can sit down and eat your ice cream at, which is convenient if don't want to wait until you get home to eat it. I'm a purist--Was a purist, when it comes to ice cream. Etzal has his go-to order and he's not afraid to mix things up! I ordered the Strawberry Cake Batter, while Etzal ordered the Sweet Cream with strawberries and brownies mixed all up in there. As a fellow foodie he told me don't knock it 'till you try it, and so he made sure to give me a spoonful with a bit of everything in it. And with that, I was very surprised! Forgive me in advance. I don't like to post negatively generally, but tonight took the cake or the cake cone rather. This is usually our families go-to for celebratory ice cream, heck what am I saying, just ice cream in general! We arrived tonight around 7pm, not even as busy as usual. Some of our usual friendly faces. The line moved quickly, the place was clean and MOST of the staff was phenomenal and friendly. That being said, there was an older man behind the counter, (I can not even call him a gentleman). We did not notice a name tag, but he was exceptionally rude to my daughter. Usually, we get cups, so we have never done cones with you guys. My daughter tells the not so nice man that she would like a chocolate cone with lucky charms ice cream. He says ok a cone, what ice cream, confused she says L.C. ice cream. He says yeah what kind? In a very rude tone. He reaches over the counter and points at the cups and speaks to her as though she was stupid. Oh..ok, now we understand. Not a type but a size. She tells him. He scoops the ice cream adds all sorts of stuff to it, after she says just the ice cream and the cone. He then grabs a plain cone and proceeds to slap her ice cream with all of the unwanted add on's into the plain cone. We thought about requesting that they remake it, but they started to get busier and we didn't want to put the other patrons out. Now, I don't know if this literal grouchy old man is the owner, was having a bad day or is just a not so very nice person. However, customer service really lacked with him. As a bonus mom to a neurodivergent child, 10/10 would not recommend. This man was very rude and demeaming towards my daughter. It wasn't very busy when we were ordering and he was treating her like she was holding up a line that was out the door (which it usually is). If you walk in and see him, I highly recommend turning around if you have children with you. The usual staff her is always great!!! Even when we walk in with 6 kids in tow. For the first time in a long time, I purchased a Cold Stone coffee ice-cream cake. I am so glad to had made the purchase. Tasting it was the sweetest part of my day. Peyton assisted me during my visit at Cold Stone. She was most kind, seeing I only had a cake in hand Peyton offered to check me out right away. Initially I was going to purchase a small cake; but after contemplating the price difference between the smaller and the larger cake I found that it made more sense to purchase the larger. What I didn't take into account is if the large cake would fit in the freezer. Before leaving to go home, I realized what had seemed to be a mistake. I asked if I could instead purchase the smaller cake. Cold stone doesn't do refunds on cakes, even if immediately after purchase. Peyton offered to pay the difference herself, i never had someone offer that. It was sweet, and I was taken aback: surprised by her kind gesture. I turned down her offer and took the larger cake home. After much rearranging that big cake fit. I am happy I purchased it. Cold stone has the best coffee ice cream cakes. Highly recommend. Ummmm coldstone It was delicious, I ordered the bananananana caramel crunch topped with two Oreo cookies. Yeah that's how I roll. I tip but there was no singing... not sure if they just don't do that anymore. It is a nice touch to hear a jingle as you walk away so I miss it. I like they were taking the orders and bringing your order out to you in order to restrict access and keep Covid restrictions and distancing efforts. Good job !! read more

The ice cream is pretty good and I always appreciate the way they thoroughly mix their toppings in (like I think the biggest pro of this chain establishment is that their toppings are EVENLY mixed throughout the ice cream whether you have it in a cone or cup, instead of just sprinkling them on top) However, I do believe it's kind of overpriced, especially for specials like the Founder's favorite. I got the smallest size and it was like $7 (not sure if they overcharged me this time, it could be my fault since I rushed out to get home and they might have charged me for one size up). Pros of this location: - decent AC inside, there's an area with tables if you want to hang out or read. - easy parking Cons: - Tables are kind of dirty Overall, coldstone is a place where you're going to come if you really want it, and if it's your birthday and they send you a BOGO. Shocked there's only one location in Reno! Came in one chilly afternoon and expected the place to be empty and ended up waiting 30 minutes in line!! I've never waited that long for ice cream. I got a small coffee ice cream with reese's cups in a cup. The only reason this place lost a star was the prices, $6 for a small ice cream in a cup?! Finished it before I even made it back to my car, in my opinion it should've been half the price but it was good ice cream. Not melted and plenty of big chucks of reese's in the ice cream. I just wish it was more affordable, I could go to the grocery store and get a gallon and save time and money! read more
