What the heck happened??? I ordered online for 1045pm pick up got there 1042pm didn't get acknowledged until 6 minutes afterwards being there and had to let them know I was there for pickup. They had 6 employees plus a manager on shift and 3 of them in the back not even helping customers and ignoring customers who had online orders one employee was chewing gum and employees not properly washing hands like use soap and hot water. I got home and realized half my order was missing. I quickly drove back with my order and had to speak to a manager with all the staff standing behind the manager back which was not needed and I asked why half my order was missing and why my order was in two bags and no communication between staff about how it was in two bags. The staff laughed with each other about how this "mistake" happened. How is that professional? The outside of the cups were sticky and a mess and overpacked that it made a bigger mess when we opened it up. No customer recovery was offered for this either will definitely be talking to higher up managers about this during business hours. Note to self don't place online orders 15 mins before close unless you want order messy and partially there. read more

Out of the last 3 times I've ordered online from this place, I've either gotten completely melted ice cream, missing cones, or missing ice cream altogether. Tonight, I ordered 4 ice creams and 1 shake online. I got home and discovered they only gave me 3 ice creams and the shake, so I paid $9 for nothing, it seems. Better yet, it seems I even tipped these guys to not make my entire order. If it was once, I could understand, but there's a problem literally every single time I order online. Even better, you have to email them to get a refund, and they never email you back. Calling does nothing as they can't do anything to assist you. Save your money and go somewhere else. You might be ok going in person to order, but they can't get their online ordering system together. Thank you for being a good little operation. The hubby and I are stuck going through a Covid test and wanted to be less miserable today. So we turned our frowns upside down with some ice-cream. Of course there is a right way and wrong way to handle these things and a good employee of an establishment is gold! I talked to the young lady after entering out online order and explained the situation and that I wanted to take all action possible to not expose anyone. She brought the order out the door and waved at me and closed the door while I stayed at the end of the ramp and proceeded when she went back inside. This is a perfect place for ice cream! What really made me happy here was the hours. Sunday- Thursday they close at 10pm and on weekends they are open until 11pm! That makes this one of the few places in town to get ice cream late at night. Not only are the hours great but the ice cream too. Getting to sample as many as ice creams as I wanted was great, but it did make it hard to chose a flavor to commit to because they were all so good. They also give you the choice to mix in things like Oreos, brownies and sprinkles! So, if you're looking for a great late night ice cream adventure I would have to recommend this location for sure. MMmmmmmmm Cold Stone is one of those places that makes you wish you lived in Phoenix or Vegas. Even in the winter, it's okay to get some ice cream. But, here in Reno, at least for me, ice cream is a warm weather friend. If you haven't been to a Cold Stone Creamery, you may be wondering what makes them special. Cold Stone takes ice cream, a flavor that you choose and hand mixes it with an ingredient that you like, on a slab of frozen marble. Hence the name, Cold Stone. This location is normally busy. Why? I'm glad you asked. Good quality ice cream! The only location in northern Nevada (as of 2018)! Friendly staff. This place is not the cheapest ice cream in town, but there's a reason for it. You get what you pay for. Fresh, creamy ice cream just doesn't grow on trees, but it would be awesome if it did. Until then, we have to pay a few bucks for good ice cream. They used to have an almost black dark chocolate. I was disappointed that there was none to be found. :( So, I got the next best thing. Chocolate with peanut butter in it! It wasn't the same but it was good. My dad got almost the same thing with a different varietal of chocolate. The only drawback to this shop is the lack of seating and the tables being not so clean. There are about 4 tables with chairs. The chairs were strewn about, some of them coalesced into small groups and the table tops displayed evidence of prior ice cream encounters. -sigh- Maybe, it's too difficult, when the store is nearly empty, to have someone go out with a damp towel to clean and straiten the chairs. The unforgivable happened to me tonight. I love ice cream... I love Cold Stone, but tonight, that all changed. I went in for a treat with my girlfriend on a Friday night. We decided to go with Cold Stone over Baskin Robins across the way because I wanted my all time favorite, the now retired Monkey Bites. I had a picture of the recipe card with me, called ahead to make sure they had banana ice cream and banana in stock to make it. I show it to the young guy working across the counter, he says to me right away he isn't sure he can make it because of the ingredients. I ask what they're missing... he says there is no crunch bars anymore. Oh, no worries, we can still make it with a substitute I say. We get down the line with my ice cream and he begins mixing the toppings in. No crunch bar - let's go with some chocolate syrup instead. And then, at the last minute, he goes to mix in the fresh banana portion of the recipe. He walks over to the fruit basket and grabs the entirely BLACK, bunch of bananas. One of the black bananas had already been cut in half, he rips the rest off and gets a knife to pull the tough skin open and get the rest of soft banana out. I sort of watch in disbelief as he does this.. thinking, at any moment, he'll ask his manager for the fresh bunch and obviously not serve black bananas to a paying customer. NOPE. He struggles with it and scoops out the insides... brings them back toward my ice cream, but meeting my eye, I tell him absolutely not. He throws the banana to the ground and says ok. That's it. No apology. He mixes my ice cream and I think to myself... that banana was cut in half and was black... which means he or someone else already but the other part of the black banana into someone else's ice cream. They attempted to serve me spoiled food tonight and made no apologies... kept the black banana batch and went along with their night. I write this as a warning because as I made my way home, I thought about how if they take this little care with this ingredient, what else are they skimping on with quality control. Buyer beware. Came here while stopping by on a road trip through Reno Nevada. The store was very busy (10+ people in line) with 2 workers at 9PM on a Saturday. Not the workers fault it's so busy. This cold stone is in a small indoor shopping center and offers indoor seating. The wait time was about 15 minutes to finally get to our order. The staff wasn't friendly or unfriendly they were busy and focused more on getting fast service then making small talk. I tried the dark chocolate fudge yogurt (while it's called cold stone creamery they were only selling frozen yogurt not ice cream at the time). It was very rich and dark but tasted a little to sweet. I asked for mini chocolate chips to be sprinkled on top not mixed in. Cold stone will mix in 1 free topping with each ice cream purchase since they charge a little more for ice cream than if you were to buy it at the grocery store or baskin Robbins. My dad tried the salted caramel ice cream cone which was great. Essentially it is vanilla/caramel ice cream with a hint of salt in it. My dad also got a kids come of strawberry yogurt which didn't taste as good. The strawberry flavor was almost nonexistent and it was more like eating pink vanilla frozen yogurt. My sister tried their cookie with ice cream on top which she loved. It was 1 baked cookie with 1 cookie that was just ice cream dough and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Overall we liked the ice cream but will probably find a different ice cream shop if we are back in the area for a road trip weekend. I have always loved Cold Stone and it's always a go-to, however; since COVID has occurred and new procedures and orders have been put into place I have been more than frustrated. On multiple occasions their website has not worked but when you call they don't answer until multiple tries and when they do answer they're frustrated. Every time we have ordered online they have taken over and 1hr and I understand different circumstances but when each time I walk in they're always messing around with each other. Honestly, one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a business. We drive fifteen minutes across town to get there and try and order and the website says "due to high volume we can not process your order", so I call the store and they tell me to "wait 15 minutes and it should go through". So, my girlfriend and I wait the other 15 minutes and the website still will not let us order. After trying for other 15 minutes to get the website to work, I call back and this very unprofessional young girl answers, I explain the situation and how we have been literally sitting outside of the window for 30 minutes and the website is not working and she refuses to take the order over the phone. She said they were so backed up that she was told not to take any phone orders... the only thing she could do is give me the managers "Chris" email address and I could take it up with him. This is HORRIBLE customer service! I've never seen such a terrible system and even worse customer service. There were at least 15-25 people that walked away from this place because they couldn't order all while there was 4 employees sitting there laughing and having a good old time, but not doing their job by making orders. I don't understand how a business could operate so poorly and still have its doors open. It's pre-made ice cream that you put a couple items in and bag it up and go. We will never return to this location. Thank goodness there is a basking robins 100 yards away from this location. We walked in and was served within thirty seconds. I've never been so dissatisfied with cold stone. This place needs a new training program to ensure customer service is well taken care of and that there is not hundreds of dollars walking away from the business. If it was my business I would be upset with that much money walking away from my business on a nightly basis. It starts with the owner/management and goes downhill. Bad customer service, unable to order, 45+ minutes wasted trying to order, and an overall terrible experience. You would think after 45+ minutes you would be able to get a scoop of ice cream, but not at this location. read more

So, I was in Reno on vacation and had never been to a Coldstone Creamery. We have one in Boise, but we also have this great little indie joint--plus, ice cream consumption is sort of a vacation thing for me. So, one evening when we had a hankering for some ice cream, we stumbled upon this place. I got some sort of mint marvel with brownies and chocolate sauce mixed in. My dining companion got some sort of cake mix ice cream with the works (I think it was called the Happy Birthday or something like that). Mine was delish, if perhaps a bit over the top and a skosh overly sweet. I did enjoy the fact that their ice cream is on the softer side. My dining companion was happy with his--although I did have a bite of his and it was completely overly sweet to me--I couldn't have eaten a whole bowl of it--no way. The staff was super friendly and didn't break out into any sort of song as someone else had mentioned (thank goodness). The place is clean and there is a nice area to sit right outside the joint. Bottom line: If you're hankerin' for ice cream and wanting something COMPLETELY over the top--this is your place. Otherwise, probably better off passing. read more

Good portions, friendly & fast service & orders always made how it should be. Stopped here for the first time ever since my daughter and I were craving desert and we were in the area. I have heard that this is the greatest place, though I feel a bit that it does not quite live up to the hype. The menu is a bit difficult to understand, and while they do have a long list of go to combinations, I feel like it is too much to review while someone is staring at you waiting for you to make up your mind. I don't even remember what I got, but was not too impressed. the base was the sweet cream, which I though would be like vanilla, but it isn't.
