The service is horrible here. They completely messed up a birthday cake. The cakes was cracked in half. The writing on the cake was like that of a kindergartner. I just bought two "ours" size ice creams and when going to pick them up apparently they had ran out of the appropriate size containers, so instead of two neat containers of ice cream I received a bag with four of the small containers completely loose with the lids off and the ice cream totally melted out into the bag. I've never had an issue here, but idk why they'd overstuff the ice cream into multiple smaller containers (making a big mess and wasting ice cream and containers) when you can just put it in the bigger container?? Yesterday, Friday, September 3, I asked her to make me a favorite of mine, a coffee lovers, and to add some added toppings, of which she readily did. She was very accommodating and helpful even though I can tell that she was busy. I brought my order home and was very pleased on how she made it. I recommend this store to others for their helpful and uplifting ways. I will be a repeat customer and will say hello to Crystal and the crew once again. Their cakes are very expensive so I expect to get what I paid for. I ordered the Strawberry Passion and unfortunately there was no strawberry filling as a layer in the cake. I don't know what's going on with this location lately but it's really gone down hill. Customer service is nonexistent and the employees are extremely rude. I went in the other night and was helped by a young man with longer curly hair and a hat that gave me attitude for no reason. I understand being rude if a customer is being rude to you but I'm just there to get my ice cream. Another guy who's taller with glasses is another employee that has given me attitude for no reason. I don't get it, it's your job to serve customers ice cream, if you don't like your job then leave. There's no reason to give such bad customer service on multiple occasions from both of these employees. I'm a regular customer but I won't be anymore, after I left mad again the other night I decided it was the last time. Not only that but they no longer fill the cups with ice cream, the taller guy with glasses said they no longer do that and the ice cream will be flat along the top of the cup. This place has the most ATROCIOUS customer service I've ever experienced. It's usually a bunch of rude teenage kids working who all seem like the type that would spit in your food when you're not looking. Last night was an all time low. The hours on their window as well as the hours listed online say that they close at 11pm. We arrived at 9:50pm at the same time as a family of 3 who stood in line behind us. When we all walked in the store one of the kids working looked up at us and said "UGH more people." My husband wanted a milk shake and was told they didn't have milk. By the time our two ice creams were made it was 10:03pm and they looked up at the family of 3 behind us and said "we're closed" and refused to serve them. We stood in line at the same time and they actually REFUSED to serve them after they stood there for almost 15 minutes. Whoever owns this place needs to make some big changes. read more

Before this weekend, I had never been to Tracy. I had also never eaten at a Cold Stone. I also keep referring to the place as Stone Cold, which wasn't an ice cream place at all, but a terrible movie starring Brian Bosworth. That's right, The Boz. On the way back from a weekend trip, I decided that driving through 98 degree heat meant that I needed ice cream. And I figured Tracy would have to offer some. But alas, all they offered was Cold Stone. Side note - what is wrong with California? Why is there an ice cream parlor shortage? Back in New Jersey, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting an ice cream parlor. But here they seem to be seriously lacking. Ok, so I found Cold Stone (after being told by nobody's favorite accountant that it and Sonic were the only ice cream options - Sonic??) So we come in this place on a hot Sunday afternoon and there is one guy working. Seriously??? So we were waiting. Turns out there were two other girls working there, they had just been in the back. My money says they were in the back smoking pot, since this was my interaction with one of them when she came out: Stoned girl: Hi, can I help you? Me: Yes, I'd like a medium cup of mint chocolate chip please. Stoned girl: Ok. (pause). What kind of ice cream would you like with that? Me: Uh, mint. Stoned girl: Ok, do you want any add ins? Me: Uh, yeah, chocolate chips. Mint chocolate chip? Stoned girl: Ok. What size? Me: Uh, medium. Still. Wow, just wow. I know it's Tracy and if I lived there I'd stay pleasantly pickled all the time too, but can't you at least try to pay attention? I only ordered 3 ice creams with toppings and mix ins. I came in around 8pm and felt SUPER rushed. Like I was better off not going than taking my order. One of the ice creams I got was a half sweet cream and half mint split cup with a brownie mixed in. How they usually do it, is mix in a brownie separately for each flavor and put it in the cup, side by side. She goes on to say "that doesn't sound very good" to me. And I didn't realize what she said until I walked out. Like ???? And when I told her I didn't want the two flavors mixed she proceeded to say "then how do you want me to mix it in?" I do not eat ice cream very often, actually rarely ever. The one time I craved it, I thought I would treat myself to come here. My flavor of ice cream is not the issue, but I didn't ask for peanut butter and there was a hint of it in my ice cream. Well, a bit more than a hint!!!! You have to understand, I HATE peanuts. LOATHE them. No peanut of any sort, peanut butter cups, cakes, candies, clusters, you name it; I hate it. I am a NO NUTTER for that matter, but especially peanuts. I'm not very pleased 1st time was months ago, I asked for champagne truffles and when I'm on the road decide to snack on my truffles they're just regular chocolate ones... This second time I went was on 3.23.14 got my love it, and I'm aware kids get one scoop FREE..And i asked her about children getting the free she said yes. I usually love coming to Cold Stone, but this location needs to really step it up. First the girl who was making my ice cream had some string bracelets on, which are fine, but I also saw the strings touching the ice cream. That was pretty unsanitary. She was helping someone before me and was handling money, but didn't wash her hands before helping other people after that? When it was my turn, I asked for Oreos as my mix in. She broke it up a big, but the oreos were pretty big still and didn't bother to actually mix in the oreos into my ice cream...I'm not really sure I got my moneys worth. Not sure if i'm going to be coming back here though. They need to learn how to wash their hands and be clean. I don't want to think about what other kinds of germs may be lingering around the ice cream. read more

AMAZING LAUREN!!!!! My Family and I live in Mountain House and we have been coming to this Cold Stone on W 11th Street in Tracy for at least 3 years. We have always had the Best Service and Friendliest People! Once Server, Lauren, we have dealt with for the last couple of years. She even recognizes my voice over the phone. (HUUUUGE!!!) Her customer service etiquette as well as her kindness, attention to detail, flexibility and leadership skills are AMAZING. (And thus the title!) . She is always willing to assist, and OHHHHH, the Ice Cream is wonderful. Decided to try CSC for a treat on Saturday. The two ladies behind the counter seemed very unhappy to be there, no smile or greeting offered. I ordered the Pistachio and Coffee flavored ice creams in a plain waffle cone, dish of sorbet for my husband, and two pints for the freezer. The girl assisting us offered a flat, annoyed, "Is that all..." after each selection requested. The Pistachio flavored one was very weak and contained no pistachio nuts. It was ok, but I won't order it again. The Coffee flavored one was good, creamy and well balanced flavor. The waffle cone was very hard, tasted stale and had no bottom in it. How do you make a waffle cone and not fold it to a point? How in the world do you expect it to hold the ice cream ? I would pass on the waffle cone if I choose to order from them in the future. I like to try and support local companies, but after spending 40.00 on their products, not one of the ladies could even smile or even offer a thank you. Wow. I went in a few days ago, and it was alright. The girls at the counter were really nice and accurate with my order. It was not very expensive, and the place seemed pretty clean. It did seem a bit disorganized though...3 people behind the counter handling one person's order...once I did finally get help it was real fast, but it was a wait. I'm sure I'll be back again... I took Smoosh here for his first experience with Coldstone. The employee/"ice cream artist" (as Smoosh puts) was really nice and let us have all the time in the world for him to make up his mind. We got the Oreo something, I don't remember. It was really, really rich. Not being a chocolate fan, chocolate lovers would go nuts, but people like me had to stomach through. I'm not a fan of ice cream in general. So, if you like rich, creamy ice cream and good service then come here! Sadly, I'm a bit biased and they only get three stars. Sad day. :( read more

Just ordered a custom birthday cake. I had no clue what I was doing. Parveet, put it all together for me. She was awesome! She had good suggestions and was very patient. It's nice to hear a happy voice. I have no clue if we'll like the cake, but if it's as good as the customer service, then we'll be happy.
