Today was our first visit here. I love Cold Stone. Who doesn't? It is located in a busy shopping area, and there's plenty of parking available. We were greeted when we went inside. The staff was pleasant and ready to help us. There was SO MUCH to choose from. I settled on Oreo fudge in a waffle bowl, and my son got coffee flavor with sprinkles in a waffle bowl. Both ice cream bowls were DEVOURED!!! My only concern was that my bowl was somewhat stale around the top. It was chewy instead or crunchy. No worries, I'm greedy so I still ate it. Lol. Shameful ownership. On memorial day they left a young lady to run the store completely alone. She had 20+ people in line. Had to make the orders, ring up the customers and deal with online pick.up orders. Again...Shameful. this young lady was killing it, never lost her cool. Wow! Where to begin. Pros: ordering online and scheduling the pick up was easy Cons: This cake was called Cookies and Cream Extreme and frankly the only extreme thing about it was that it was extremely overpriced and filled with chemical tasting whipped cream and extremely lacking in both cookies and ice cream. My son was so disappointed with his birthday cake. He was looking forward to an ice cream cake and trying something different that a regular bakery cake and commented on its terrible taste. The last time I had an ice cream cake was so many years ago and clearly my memories included real ingredients from a time when they didn't have an arsenal of synthetic substitutes. Lesson learned. Went tonight and had a MUCH better experience! Jess helped us and was so professional, had a great smile and was very friendly. The store was spotless and it was so nice to be greeted by a friendly face and get some very yummy ice cream. We ordered three "like it" sized cups and they were very generous. Mint = yum! Dark chocolate = yum! Cheesecake =ok, a bit too tangy Cotton candy = yum Strawberry = yum After tonight's visit, we will return. We had a disappointing experience with the Coldstone location in Wake Forest. My kids have always loved the icecream cakes at Coldstone. They would built them with all they favorate ingredients and order them for their birthdays. We recently moved to the area. My son built and I ordered the cake for him, with extra freeze option. I picked it up, and by the time I came home the edges melted quite a bit. I can see how disappointed my son was when he saw it. My heart dropped. I called the owner, and she basically said once the cake leaves the store, they are not responsible. She didn't offer anything to repair the situation, not even a free scoop of icecream. Needless to say she lost some new customers, as we would never go back there. read more

Hard to believe folks are willing to so quickly give a business with the quality of ice cream this place has a one- or two-star rating, and at the same time give watered down, airy budget ice cream places in the area such high ratings. Yes, the ice cream cost more at Cold Stone, as do most things in life for higher quality. I have heard many say they crave for higher quality restaurants, etc. to come to Wake Forest (SF), and currently drive into Raleigh, Cary, etc. to eat at high-quality places because in reality, ultimately this type of Yelp rating behavior is what can drive a high-quality place like this out of business in WF and also keep high-end quality places from coming to WF (as does not giving these high quality places some business from time-to-time). It is understandable as important as a birthday party may be that dissatisfaction with a cake could anger a person, but why not work it out with the manager or company HQ and avoid public crucifixion of a business like this who is providing WF hands-down extremely high-quality ice cream with a one-or two-star rating based on a single bad experience and even worse if not giving them a chance to regain a modified, higher rating from that Yelp rater. I have purchased several excellent ice cream cakes here, as well as single servings of ice cream--honestly never had a bad experience here, and of course like many who are highly satisfied, been putting off writing a positive review, but when I just noticed how this place is unjustly and, in my opinion, based on the quality of ice cream, inaccurately rated at the bottom of ice cream places in WF, it just wasn't fair to not provide positive feedback this place has earned on every occasion I have frequented their establishment. BEWARE!! I was attending a birthday party that had ordered an ice cream cake from this location and my son literally pulled an acrylic nail out of his mouth after taking a bite. This was absolutely disgusting and after this occurred everyone that was eating the cake was so grossed out they could not take another bite. What makes matters worse is the person who purchased the cake has tried to get ahold of the manager to rectify the situation and they are completely avoiding her. It's awesome. They perfectly mix the ice cream. And it is DELICIOUS! It is super clean and sanitary. Their delivery is great. However it is a bit expensive and the ice cream is better in person. But eating it from the store it self is good. It is almost always perfect. And before covid-19 they let you have samples. I work at Chronic Tacos and my shift lead and me get ice cream from here almost every week! Staff is always friendly and I enjoyed being serenaded for tipping yesterday. My favorite ice cream is definitely the cake batter batter batter and I can't get enough. I thought it was hilarious that even if you get the "love it" size you still get a full brownie! My husband and I went to this Cold Stone when we were in town for an appointment. I was craving (yes-pregnancy craving) some cheesecake ice cream and my husband loves the Cake Batter n Shake. It was the middle of the day so we were the only people in the store. The lady working was incredibly friendly and accommodated my strange request to sample a few ice cream flavor combinations. The workers there probably need more training because they did not mix the ice cream toppings properly at all and ended up giving me the wrong size cup instead of a like it I got it kids and end up overpaying.
