We went to their new public house for dinner on a Wednesday and the place was hopping. Their new building is very cool (and not quite done yet!). The new public house is pretty much behind their original spot, overlooking Coburg Road. We sat in a booth with very tall walls that felt very private but I don't feel like I could tell you the vibe of the rest of the restaurant. Since I was sitting in the back of the booth, I could only see two other tables that were along the windows and the traffic going by in the dark. Next time we'll ask not to sit in a booth so we can see more of the restaurant. Our server informed us that the public house was split into two sections. We were in the full-service restaurant part and there was a more casual (order at the counter?) section by the front door for people that just wanted to grab a beer and sit at a communal table. Our server was excellent. Not the typical Eugene service from him! He answered our questions about the beers and brought us tastes and had all the answers ready about the food. They were out of two things (understandable at such a new spot) but I noticed that they had already changed their menu a few times in the few short weeks they've been opened. Yay for seasonal menus!! Our party went super basic and we all ordered the Butter Burger (the butter is mixed into the patty so it helps the burger caramelize) which came with fries. We also split the grilled potato salad(served chilled), which was a good sized portion to split with our group of five. My kiddo got the wings (sauceless) and fries. We'll be back to try more of the menu items and sit at a table without walls.

On par with the rest of the rock solid craft brewery scene here in Eugene. Laid back spot with a big covered outside patio in the back where there's also a spot for a food truck. Well made beers with a helpful friendly staff. A majority of the menu when I visited were IPAs. I got a beer flight with their Lager, Pale Ale, & Hazy. For a place that seems to specialize in IPAs they do a great job with their Lagers and Pale Ales too, and that's how you know you're dealing with a great craft brewery when you can taste the quality in every style of beer they make.

On a recent trip to Oregon, we decided to explore a new city: Eugene. This ended up being our first stop around noon on a weekday, so it was pretty empty. We get some of their beers at home and they've all been excellent and after a long drive a welcome treat. It's located near the river with plenty of street parking nearby. It's a welcoming place with outdoor seating in front and behind. The bartender seemed to be the only staff member and was welcoming to greet us. We each got flights, which aesthetically were some of the prettiest I've seen on the wood and metal boards. The vibe is cozy living room furniture with high industrial ceilings. I loved the open air doors too. We loved all our beer, plus great prices. They have a lot of canned selections packed and ready for takeout. It's too bad we didn't have time to come back, it was a favorite brewery visit on this trip!

Stopped in on our first night in Eugene and it was trivia night on the back patio. What a cool space. Both patrons, and workers were very nice. The Root beer, wine and hazy all hit the spot. The Tofu Teriyaki was really solid. Definitely will return on our next visit.

Went to the new coldfire spot for lunch today. We ordered the fall salad and the grilled apple and potato soup with rye focaccia special. It was delicious although I could have gone for some chunks in the soup instead of it being fully pureed. The rye focaccia was a fun interpretation of focaccia that paired well with the soup. The salad was good but the squash on top was not great. The interior is beautiful although there is still construction going on up stairs and you can hear the noise from that from time to time. Our server Jeff was very friendly and attentive. The menu is small but I look forward to coming back and trying something else in the future.

I heard their burgers were fantastic. The first time I went, there was no ground beef, therefore no burger. Last night I tried again and ordered the Smash burger, single patty with a side salad. When it arrived, finally, (the kitchen was very slow) I was taken aback by the mediocre presentation. Big bowl-like plate, tiny burger, one handful of salad. It looked like a Happy Meal burger. Nothing on the burger except meat and cheese and a pickle. Did I mention Happy Meal? The menu did not misrepresent the burger but I expected the usual lettuce tomato business. Who serves a burger plain like that except McDonald's Happy Meal?

Went to the new location of ColdFire recently which is a stones throw from the original. The outside of the building is still pretty far from complete but the inside is up and running. Two couples met here for beers. There's a dining area and a bar area separated by a beer and cocktail/ food service area / merch area. Wasn't crazy about the bar area. There are three booths and the rest are four tops or longer community / sharing type tables. It's nice but seems kind of sterile, not much character. Not that much seating in the bar area. It's all self service for the bar area, no waiter service. Haven't tried the food yet but the beer is as good as it's always been. I already miss the original location. Next time I'll try the restaurant side. Cheers! Three stars because it's not finished yet.

First let me say the service staff at Coldfire are warm cheerful and inviting. They are attentive to the needs of the customers and they were best part of the experience . The beer I tried Minute After Midnight was very good and thoroughly enjoyable. Now for the downside. The food. The Butter Burger resembles a regular McDonald's hamburger, the patty is grossly over seasoned and completely unenjoyable. As shown in the picture the bun was burned on the inside and the outside. It was very unpalatable. The Pretzel was large and warmed through nicely however the overall quality of the pretzel was that of a common bulk discount store. They placed four very small slivers of cheese on it that did very little to improve the flavor and appearance of the pretzel. That being said the mustard dipping sauce was very good. The French fries were spot on and very enjoyable particularly with the garlic aïoli that was served with the unimpressive hamburger. And finally let's get to the Delicata squash , unfortunately I will spend the rest of my life trying to remove the taste of that culinary disaster from my taste buds. The appearance of the dish is a complete disaster the aroma is as repulsive as wondering into a public bathroom shortly after someone spent far too long blowing up the toilet. I made the mistake of tasting it, that left a mark. The texture was the best thing about the dish with as poor as the texture was. The flavor was so putrid that I had to spit it into a napkin. It was a totally unpleasant experience. The ambience was warm and inviting. It would've helped if they had a section where kids could be, so the noise does not bother the customers that went to an adult location like a taproom to enjoy an adult beverage. I do believe this establishment does potential. The servers are amazing and the beer I tried was excellent. They do however need to fire whoever has created the menu and the recipes. The food is truly a crime against humanity. I truly hope they can get the quality of the food under control. I would be willing to give them another try if in fact the menu and food is corrected.

Long have I wanted to try Coldfire and when it finally happened and I am so very happy it finally did I was most satisfied and pleased with the beer experience that I had. Steve had to agree as well to this. We had three different beers from Coldfire and we loved them all so I have the firm belief that it doesn't really matter what you get here. Out of all likelihood it will be an enjoyable beer drinking experience. So without further ado onto the beers that we had. We thought so very highly of the Cold Lite which is an American Light Lager. This was so extraordinarily refreshing! Flavor features with this beer are biscuity and clean. It's also very effervescent, smooth and light bodied. It's a version I guess you could say of corporate light lagers which are usually stale and boring but when a smaller craft brewery does one it's almost always good. Another beer we had was the Cumulus Tropicalus. It's an IPA and we really liked this one as well which is really saying something as sometimes IPA's aren't as memorable as one may think. They all just run together in my mind more often than not. But this was not the case with this IPA. Flavors to have a fun time with for this beer are tropical, citrus, clean and hoppy. The beer itself is pleasantly bright in appearance. And the final beer that we had was the Easy Tiger Pilsner. We liked this beer too but perhaps not as much as the other two beers prior. Flavor features with this pilsner are crisp, floral, lemony and sweet. The beer is also very light bodied. Would love to get a hold of more beers from Coldfire again and they have plenty of other beers to explore but a return or two to that Light Lager and IPA may need to be in order as well.

Reallly nice spot, great staff! Nice brews -- not your typical "me too" cookie-cutter PNW offerings, but some really inventive items and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Doesn't hurt that Eugene has some of the best water in the country! I'm also going to review Stretched -- food truck on this lot with seriously *AUTHENTIC* Shaanxi cuisine! read more

In the time of the pandemic I need to update my review. First of all, shout out to super helpful and friendly bar staff, especially Evelyn! They have a big tent outside that is actually well warmed and beautifully lit with enough space for you and your one careful date or your "caution to the wind" Covid party of four. They have also added the Yardy truck & You can now in addition to the cold fire beer and fries menu, get some outstanding vegetarian food and worlds best fried chicken. It's worth the wait. I also need to update my review to say hey did you know they have some great March? Shout out for putting all of their beer in the right kind of glasses. I really love that. I mostly just drink the pills are and it always makes me happy. read more

Quickly becoming one of my favorite brewery hangouts in Eugene, Coldfire is a worthwhile stop for beer and tasty eats. We started coming a few years ago after it had recently opened. At that time it was a sparse warehouse with just a few tables and some great beer. I'm not much of an IPA drinker but I have always really like their Cumulus (and I still get that most times I go). Just a few years later they have added a plethora of outdoor and tent covered seating and many great foodtrucks have joined. I recommend coming on the early end or on a weeknight to make sure seating is available. It can get excessively busy during peak hours, especially during the summer. read more

Great brewery with a big outdoor patio. They have a good variety of beers; maybe 10 tops total but lots of different styles. My favorites were the tangerine apricot sour (rotating, I think) and the dubbel. They also have some bottles that you can drink in a house. There are three "permanent" food trucks outside in the courtyard area. They also have an area with kids toys, games, etc. We went two evenings while we were in Eugene. Both days there were 2 bartenders that helped us. One was really nice and the other wasn't exactly not nice, but wasn't exactly nice either. They just seemed...odd?...and maybe a little burnt out too? Whatever the case, this brewery is definitely worth a stop if you are in Eugene and like beer read more

One of the best breweries in town and there are a lot of choices. Great beer and greet community atmosphere with a lot of local activities. Great food truck supporting dining goals. All of them are top choices. But the beer is the best and original. I don't drink IPAs EVER. But they have a few that even lager folks (like me) will enjoy. Love the community activity and even though I'm not a fan of kids this space is GREAT for them. There're no ass hole kids here. Just kids permitted to be themselves and enjoy a safe space with their family and community. I NEVER thought I would say that! This place is the bomb. Please don't bring ass hole kids here, or do and show them how to act in a safe space. If they remain ass holes, please leave promptly. read more

On our way from Sutherlin to Portland we were looking for a a brewery to try. First of all, only 4 minutes of the 5 freeway. Scored points for convenience. Pleasantly surprised to walk into some live folk type music, a duo of guys playing banjos. I had the Blackberry Cider and my husband the Tropical IPA. We were both pleased with our choices. Great flavors with fruit notes. Also had the food truck outside with philly style cheesesteak. Excellent sammy! Super happy with our choices with this off the beaten path establishment. read more

Caught ColdFire on an off-night. The Ducks were playing Cal and all eyes were glued to the tube above the bar. Understandably, there wasn't much interest on the part of the beertender in engaging in banter about the beers on tap. Then again, my favorite taprooms don't come with television sets. I did a six-sample flight and enjoyed the Tropical Tempest IPA the most, although it's nothing to write home about. read more

My favorite brewery in Eugene never ceases to impress me! They have a type of beer for everyone, and they do all styles quite well. The bartenders are all great, Brian and Lily are both very friendly and happy to let you sample several options and give great recommendations. They have always been good conversation and accommodating of my questions and requests! The space is a renovated old building like many modern breweries, and you can see all the tanks with beer being brewed while you sit at the many tables or small bar counter. It can get quite busy on event nights and weekends but is a comfortable space as a whole. They don't have TVs but they do have a lot of board/table top games and a large children's play area in the back! They don't have a kitchen but they have a food truck or two at almost all times. The food trucks have always been impressive and I appreciate the variety and rotation offered. There are weekly events here, such as Trivia on Tuesdays, live music, craft markets, pop-up eateries, discount days for various industry professionals, and more. They are definitely involving the community and I appreciate that! If you're looking for the best local beer in town, there's just no better place to go than ColdFire! read more

First time in Eugene and we needed to have a good brew and then we found Displace sharing the same lot with other food carts and man oh man does this be a go great with a fried chicken from across the way... I guess hours, the type of beer that I'm talking about, I'll be coming really popular at the moment and I've never had one until today and I'm glad that I've tried it. I chose the tangerine apricot beer and Mannel man is this thing tasty and delicious and you can taste the sweetness, but it's not too sweet, it's just right to the taste. I wish they had a location in Portland and I'll be sure to come there again and try more variety of sours. The sours are produced by Live Sour. read more

I really like this place. I've been coming here for a while now, when I travel to Eugene. All the staff has been fantastic. The beer is good. I like the atmosphere. But mostly the staff is always been great, even though they've changed oh, that hire well. Wednesdays are especially good because they have discount on Growlers and pints. They don't sell food inside but they have an awesome food cart outside. read more

Beautiful place! So glad we visited. The brewers were sitting in the taproom and I received deliberate smiles and positive energy from them both and I felt totally welcome and appreciated just sitting there. It made me want to buy more beers and give them more of my money. Weird, right?! Take a lesson, other breweries. And they have Oregon Trail meats? Like seven of them?! IT'S THE BEST BEEF WE'VE EVER HAD and haven't been able to find it anywhere, so obviously we bought a bunch of it. My man bought a t-shirt and I definitely want to come back when we're around again. They highlight the hops like not a lot of breweries in Oregon do. read more

This place is the bomb.com. Wide, varied selection. Their bread and butter IPA Cumulus Tropicalis is genuinely my favorite beer. Coldfire Pilsner is a dream on a summer night. Their barrel age stuff never disappoints. Live music and trivia nights on the reg. Really can't beat it in the area. read more

Perfect place to meet up with friends for a drink after work! Lots of seating, great beer, and good food. The back can get kind of loud under the tent, but the seating inside and out front is usually much quieter. read more

Arguably my favorite brewery in Eugene (and that's saying a lot since we have lots of good ones!). I have yet to try a beer that I didn't like, which is a big deal for someone like me who is primarily a wine and cider lover. They're all good, from the IPAS to the lagers. One of the best beers I ever had was produced by Cold Fire (please please please bring back the Cryo Fuzz!). Also, the atmosphere is so fun. It's laid back and feels like you're in someone's home that happens to have great beer and fun games to play. I recommend going in if you haven't stopped by yet, but if you're unable to make sure you pick up some bottles or cans from Market of Choice or Bier Stein. read more

Their beer is Fire! So good. My husband and I were driving through town on our way back to Portland from a camping trip from Crater Lake. So, we were pretty dirty and dusty after a few days of camping. But, we zero-ed in on this spot because a friend recommended their beer. And, this place was perfect, they had outdoor seating, and we were able to grab an open picnic table and sit with our dogs outside and have beer and food. I loved, that they made the expectations really clear by posting directions explicitly of when to have your mask on, and the flow of walking. In general, it was recommended to stay seated at your table, unless going to use the restroom facilities. I loved the design of ordering, it was as contactless as possible. From their website you can order draft beer, food, and beer-to go and then just select your table # and they brought it to ya. IT worked really well and it minimized contact time. They did it right! read more

I would say that Coldfire makes some of the best beer in Eugene. We loved the Minute After Midnight stout as well as a double IPA. We just barely missed trivia on Tuesday night. They have a great patio that can be used even in wintertime because it can be enclosed and they have heat lamps as well. Otherwise, their stouts will warm you up just fine! read more

Oh MY!!!!!!!! Stopped in here for the first time today. Very nice selection of beers. A couple of IPAs, a Czech pilsner, an imperial porter, brown ale and a stout, to name a few. They had a sour that I could actually drink. They used marionberry for the fruit and it was really good. Forget your growler like I did?? No problem. They'll can up a crowler for you. And yes, they even nitrogen the can. Out back they have a food cart for eats. Haybaby. I can't wait to go back!!!!!! A very small menu, which means that they better do those few things really well. They do!!!!! One of the best burgers I have ever eaten. A half pound of beautiful tasty juicy beef in a hand formed party. Topped with melted cheese, crisp bacon, a touch of mayo, a bit of grilled onion, and half if a fresh ripe avacado...... all on an artisan bun!!!!! HEAVEN!!!!!!!! Fries were crinkled, small in size, which allows them to crisp up, but still have a nice creamy center. They're sesoned with a rub that tastes very similar to bbq potato chips. Some of the best fries I've had. If you are in Eugene and feel like having a burger, go here!!!! read more

Whenever traveling, I always love to check out the local breweries. With ColdFire I got just that. With a variety of beers to choose from, and a setting that puts you right next to the brew kegs, it was an overall enjoyable visit. The beers weren't anything to write home about, but the setting, friendly staff, and amazing food cart made it worth the stop. The only thing I didn't like was the amount of kids that were there, for a place that didn't even serve food. But that's the 20 something with no kids talking. read more

Took wife and Son to Coldfire to celebrate his college graduation and very happy with that decision. Super friendly/helpful staff, excellent beers and food. Son and I had the IPA which had great pop to it and was flat out delicious as well as a lighter ale we tried which was equally stellar. Wife had cider and liked it as well. Food...excellent. Well done Hughes brothers, will be back soon with Daughter in tow to celebrate both kids graduating this year. .....oh happy days!! One suggestion, better signage to entrance though I was pulling a Mr Magoo routine walking in as my eyes were jacked up. read more

This was by far the best brewery in town, especially if you like tradition style beers. They have Irish Stouts to Czech Pilzer. I really enjoyed the Kolsch which is light crisp and refreshing. The food truck was throwing out many fried chicken meals, which looked very good. In fact visiting the Vineyards,several of the wine makers recommend Coldfire based on beer and the food truck. Definitely a must place visit while in Eugene. read more

Don't come here unless you want to wait forever looking for a seat. Rude a&$ people sitting around taking up tables while playing cards. Ride when u see people standing & waiting!!! Eat & move along. Management does nothing about this problem. I'll never come here again because of the rudeness. read more

Didn't know this place existed, we noticed it one night on our way to eat at Rye. But I love trying new places. They have a food truck connected to the brewery with a limited menu. We ordered the hummus and pickled veggies and the bacon avocado cheeseburger. SO Good. I love a messy burger with dripping sauce. Hand formed patty, which you don't see often. Very satisfying. My husband loved the hummus and pickled veggies, not an item you see on a menu everyday. My husband love pickled veggies, so he was very happy. The beers are European, which is a little different. I went to ColdFire brewing because my social media has been blowing up with news about these guys. Started by the Hughes brothers, both of whom's day jobs are in the medical field which led them to think their knowledge of biology and passion for homebrewing would be a good recipe for starting a brewery. They renovated a building near the Ferry St bridge in Eugene and opened in the Fall. The location is comfy, for sure. The building is essentially split in half lengthwise, with the brewing operations on one half and the seating/tap room on the other. There is a small patio as well. It appears they've gone with the theme of "renovated shipping container" for the cooler. Don't get me wrong here, it all works and is pretty cool. They have a good mix of standard Northwest offerings like the NW Ale, Pale Ale, IPA, and Spring IPA. From what I hear, they want to delve more into the German style, inspired by trips to Germany and Austria. I sure hope they do because the German Pils was excellent, as was the ESB. The had a duo of acoustic guitar and drum playing music the night I was there too, which made for a great atmosphere. I really think this brewery could outgrow their current location pretty quickly if they continue to pump out quality beer and gain popularity like they have. It's a must visit on your next trip to Eugene. read more

The server was friendly and helpful and answered my various questions. I wanted to understand if the drink thru is drinks only? I have been harboring a desire for "drive thru sushi" for years, but alas, their drive thru is drinks only. As for the food, the veggie taco was very tasty. It seemed to contain warm rice, tofu, avocado, cucumber, lettuce, cilantro, carrots and ginger dressing . The shell is a fried combo of seaweed and rice paper. The tamago and oshinko rolls were standard fare, tasty but nothing special. The restrooms were marked gender specific, but the women's room at least was a one seater with a locking door. For parking, I was told it is ok to park in the spots marked "reserved."

Too bad there's no easy way to provide feedback about a terrible driver in one of your trucks. Whoever was headed south on I-5 at 6pm on 02/15 just south of Albany needs a little constructive criticism on their driving. I didn't even know that Coldfire was a brewery but I do now and we try to support local but not if your drivers are going to try to run me off the road or blind me when there's a slow car right in front of me and it's not my fault I am stuck going slow. And trust me, I am not a slow driver. I sure hope you don't pay this person as a professional driver. It's really too bad I got to know your company under these circumstances. read more
