I love Colectivo! Everything I've ever gotten here has been good! Great place to find gifts too!

Every time my husband and I come into town, we have to come here. BLT is amazing and I love their summer menu.

I really like Colectivo, compared to the other locations this one is only A-OK. The two ways I am a customer is the order and go coffee, or the sit down and get some work done coffee and this location isn't quite as good as the others for me in either column. Not to say it's bad, but for pick up and go coffee it's a little inconvenient to park close, and three of the four times I've been here, the line was long. One of the four times someone else walked off with my order. And my Starbucks travel mug. It's also not the best for sitting down and getting work done because the place is often inundated with privileged unsupervised upper middle class suburban post-millennial children. Horrors. I guess this is all about the location, given a choice, I'm happier in the Bayview location than here in Shorewood. The staff has always been good to me.

Alterra rocks. They opened up right across the street from where I work. Does life get any better than this? Oh, maybe if they had a few more vegan options. For you omnivores, you've got it made! Soups, sammies, muffins, croissants...... I usually settle on a whole wheat bagel with PB&J. It's not really settling though cuz they make their own bagels. And life is good when you only have to walk across the street for a hot Soy Latte.

Have been coming to Colectivo since it was still called Alterra. Never is it not super busy. I prefer to drink just black coffee, but theirs is sometimes a little too woody and acidic for me. However I do like it for lattes, etc. They have great smoothies and yummy treats too--loooove the cowboy cookie and the oatmeal raisin cookies.

The outdoor seating was perfect to enjoy our matcha, breakfast sandwich, and coffee creations. The matcha flight was incredible and a great way to sample multiple flavors Love Cafe offers (we went back for a full size after breakfast)! The tiramisu coffee was also incredible! Last but not least, the breakfast sandwich was so delicious, the combination of veggies, egg, and protein, gave the palette everything it needed and more! Thank you!

The space very kind and cozy and they offered some classics and unique options for foods - I was enticed by the longanisa sandwich! I had gotten the Turkey Turkey sandwich for my food. It was a nice sandwich with a hefty amount of turkey on focaccia (not something I'm used to). Mmm a nice sandwich, but nothing crazy to me. For my drink, I got a Mango Matcha. I had assumed it was a matcha latte, but was pleasantly surprised that it was more of a refresher - similar to a more-common matcha lemonade. The mango nectar went well with the matcha to balance each other out and I would suggest this happen at more places! My girlfriend got the Filipino Breakfast Sammy (my anticipated meal). This also came on a nice focaccia, with some cheese and a nice square egg. The Filipino aspects felt a bit off to me, with the longanisa patty not having the bouncy texture I was accustomed to, and was much more peppery than sweet, a sweet additional sauce would have been nice. I also think the atchara could have also been more pickled. For her drink, she got a Tiramisu Latte. This wasn't actually on the menu, but they let her make the Tiramisu Cold Brew into a latte. There wasn't much of a difference than a normal latte, so there was that. We're used to mega sugar coffee, so this wasn't really for us. The space itself was very cozy and felt very communal. Overall, there seemed to be lots of appreciation for Asian culture in the space as well as the menu. I think maybe our picks weren't too much for us, but I think they do have other options that may have been more up our alley. Something I'll say is that while the area was nice, the staff did not seem to really want to be there. Ordering at the counter felt awkward and we just did not get a welcoming vibe at all. Just a very so-so experience for us this time.

I don't think that there is a wall that dosnt have some positive affirmation of sorts. It has a very authentic feel, and a maximalism approach. The air condition works just fine on a summer day but I did opt for the outdoor seating. The messages on the window are what the community needs to hear, "You are Loved" and "slow the frick down". This place really seems all inclusive. I was impressed that there IS a baby changing table in the bathroom. We tried the iced mocha, lemonade, and peach parfait that was left, because a lot was sold out. The iced mocha didn't stand out to me, but maybe that because I do like my coffee on the sweater side. The lemonade was wonderful, tasted "home made" without any pulp. We did add some of the simple syrup that was available on the table to sweeten it up just a bit. The peach parfait was great, there were pumpkin seeds in the granola which has inspired me to try and make my own. Their stickers are humorous!

Date of visit: April 29, 2026…read more I struggled to find a decent website prior to visiting to have a good idea of what we were getting into, though I don't know that I would have been less disappointed had I been more informed. I was expecting a bit more than just breakfast sandwiches in terms of food, but that is all the counter staff told us about. Later I saw people with baked goods but those weren't mentioned or visible for us to peruse. Our breakfast sandwiches were pretty average, and the coffee was just okay as well. I tried the Carrot Cake Latte and it had a hint of that flavor, but I definitely wanted a little more. The vibe is very hipster, from the bicycle crowd to the vegan folks and would really only work in a neighborhood like Riverwest!

Date of visit: April 26, 2026…read more Another place that has seemingly been around forever, but I didn't get a chance to visit until my days in Milwaukee were numbered! We came on a Sunday before they officially started serving breakfast and just had pastries available, but we were getting together with some friends for our monthly coffee date and didn't need a whole meal necessarily. The selection was a bit more limited than I would have expected from a boulangerie, but the cinnamon roll was very good (probably would have been better if it had been warmed up but that was not offered). And the cookies that we brought home (chocolate chip and gingersnap) were also very good. I also tried a bite of my husband's quiche and it was very good--definitely made in-house! The almond croissant had a generous amount of almond paste in it, and was quite sizable, too.

There's always something good looking in the bakery case--croissants, macarons, chocolate bombe. There's often a special for brunch or lunch too--I had a steamed mussels once that was pretty memorable. On my most recent visit I had the toasted cheese with a cup of tomate soup. The sandwiches come with a salad or potatoes. I had the salad and it was a nice array of fresh vegetables with a vinaigrette. The cheese was maybe not as all the way melted as I expected but it was still a nice treat. I couldn't resist getting the lemon cake for dessert. They had a strawberry shortcake that day too. Service was attentive and they kept my coffee cup filled. I should come here more often for weekend brunch.
