There's just no getting around that unfortunately. Walk in on a 90° Summer day. Greeted with a cool breeze, and a smile. Barista was friendly, answered my question about their new drink the coconut cold brew. I asked if it was a safe swap for my go to iced Carmel latte- they said it was good but not as sweet. Well, upon getting my drink I ended up asking if I could have the coconut cold foam on top of my iced caramel latte. WILL BE DOING THAT AGAIN. I couldn't resist having a bite to nourish this evening workout. I got the veggie pesto burrito. Healthy and tasty and consistently made the same, served with cold salsa. They roast their own coffee (not at this location) and I might walk out with some whole beans the next time I come. The inside is large and spacious, with a staircase leading to more seating. There are tables, and even a couple nooks for those looking to focus on work. The menu has plenty of options. Coffee, tea, bakery items, breakfast, and lunch. Seriously, there is something for everyone here - diet restrictions and all. I enjoyed an iced latte with oat milk and spent time inside and out. I appreciate this Colectivo location during the off season. During summer, it is such a go-to spot (makes complete season!), but I become overwhelmed by the lines and crowds. It's a great spot to be on a sunny, summer day! I do love working at this location mornings during the fall and spring semesters. So much space (if you can find a table) and a unique spot itself. A Milwaukee water station. Pretty neat! The service is consistently good. I generally order ahead through the app, but it doesn't take long for my order to be ready. Super cute coffee shop! Tons of outdoor seating in a big court yard out front overlooking the water, inside there is a ton of seating as well in multiple spaces throughout the coffee shop. I was impressed with how much space! They do have a parking lot, but it gets full fast so we parked across the street and walked over. They do get BUSY! I've shared happy reviews for Colectivo in the past, but came back to pay homage to the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. Is this new? How have I not had this delicious lunch before!? Well it was top notch. The perfect spot for me to get to know Milwaukee as a first-timer. This string of local coffee shops came in clutch, and the location on the lake was fantastic. Took a quick stroll around the lake before heading in and was struck with how it reminded me of a nicer version of Chicago's Lakeshore drive (that's no shade to Chicago, love it, but the road is too highway like). It was a little eerie on this day as cop cars swarmed the area, taping things off, blocking roads, and eyeing me everywhere I went. Turns out Kamala Harris was in town for an event and they had to secure the whole area before the motorcade came through. Cafe wise, the food was good; had an almond croissant and an avocado toast that both hit the spot. I was a bit disappointed in my drink as I branched out to a fall themed maple latte with cold foam. The cold foam was basically just a heap of whipped cream that isn't really my thing. The outside is phenomenal here, with lake views, lots of seating, bangers in the background, and all on a perfectly sun-drenched autumn day. read more

After a long lake walk we stopped in to grab some iced coffee and see what all the hubbub was about. As a tourist, I didn't know this was a local chain and I got the "corporate" feeling from the service and products. Not to say it was bad, because the service and coffee were all great. The building is the best part of this location. Gorgeous patio overlooking the lake (and a highway) in a neat old stone building surrounded by trees. The atmosphere is pretty "hip" but the clientele were pretty diverse. A lot of folks working on their laptops or catching up with friends. The music is pretty loud, though, so I'm not sure how they can concentrate! Didn't try the food but they had a lot of vegetarian and meat options. I'd definitely stop in if I were in the area and walking around the lake but there are other shops in the city I'd rather hit. read more

Comfortable seating, I found a spot up the stairs on the mezzanine with a great view of the space, A POWER OUTLET and their wifi. Work was busy so I was here and pounding away for about five hours. After the cold brew, another cortado and I couldn't resist, smoked salmon on a bagel. I opted for a sourdough bagel (no seeds to fall into the keyboard) and it came with cream cheese, tomato, red onion and even capers! Delicious. 10/25/23 - Colectivo Lakefront coffee 1.2 miles north of The Milwaukee Art Museum. After spending a few hours in the museum I took my brother to Colectivo Lakefront which is my favorite coffee house. This building is so cool it a repurposed pumping station that was converted into Colectivo Lakefront Coffee Long before coffee lovers flocked to the patio in the summertime, the building was used to clean up the Milwaukee River, with an enormous pump that's still in the building today. At the time, it was the largest water pump in the world," said Lincoln Fowler, one of the co-owners of Colectivo Coffee. They have converted into one of the coolest places to get a cup of coffee, pastries, snacks or sandwiches. There are multiple levels for relaxing and enjoying coffee and/or snacks. This location is everything! While visiting friends in MKE, we decide to swing by Colectivo on the Lake to enjoy the sunny fall morning. The patio space is huge, making it perfect for days like these. It was bustling, but we still managed to find a table easily since there are so many. The patio is pup friendly, which was great since we had ours! I went inside to order some food and drinks and was surprised to find the indoor space equally busy. Despite this, our order was ready super quick, so kudos to the hardworking, friendly staff! I ordered the açaí smoothie and avocado toast for myself and the cold brew oat-chata and bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich for my husband. Everything was stellar! The smoothie does have pea protein in it which gives it kind of a funny taste, but I didn't mind it and I'm sure that's something they would be happy to leave out if requested. Bacon, egg, and cheese croissant... had the manufactured egg product disc (not the usual scrambled egg once experienced at the Humbolt location). I didn't eat a bite. If I wanted a factory made egg, I would go to the global corporate coffee company for pre-packaged delights. Had some time to kill before the Milwaukee Art Museum opened. We drove a bit and stumbled upon this cute little cafe. What an amazing surprise this was. Super cute location. Great outdoor seating with lots of tables and cute colorful chairs. The inside was cozy and decorated for the holidays. It was pretty busy but we were able to secure a spot to side inside. My daughter ordered a sausage English muffin and I had a prosciutto and Swiss croissant. Both were really good but I wish that my croissant would have been warmed up.
