I was having issues with my transmission for a few months. My F150 would lock me out of 1st, 2nd and 6th gear randomly. Greg took got me checked-in, and within two hours they had diagnosed the problem and ordered the part to get it fixed. I scheduled a time to bring it in a few days later. When I dropped the truck off the following week, they were taking it back to the bay before my ride even showed up to pick me up. Have my car for almost a month and meanwhile I have to rent cars. Said it would be ready Friday May 23rd but then said it needed new transmission. They haven't given me a finish date. Joshua suggested I buy a new car even though my car is a 2019 (crazy). I feel like my car is being held hostage even though I've already paid them. Talked to Corporate and got no satisfaction. First off, I will say that the people I spoke to were exceeding polite and well-versed in their craft. Nothing bad to say about them. The main issue I have here is that they were horrible about calling me back to let me know the status of my vehicle. With the exception of one call they made, I had to initiate all communication, even when they said they would call back. Other than that, I was pleased. read more

Went specifically for transmission flush, as advertised on their website for $99. Guy immediately tried to sell me on a flush and filter change, despite my model not having a trans filter. He went on about how the premium plus service with filter change was the only way to get all of the fluid (despite that being exactly what a flush is designed to do) and how he paid $8,000 for the flush machine. I told him I wanted just the flush and wasn't interested in the filter change service. I told him about the Coleman Taylor website listing for a flush for $99. He refused to do the flush unless I'd pay for him for the full "premium plus" service. I'd rather pay more at an honest shop than deal with these guys. I won't be back. read more

We had stopped in to get an estimate for a transmission replacement for our 2004 Rendevouz. Everything was going smooth until we got back home. We went to get a package from back set & noticed an empty Red Bull can tossed under seat. Neither myself nor my passenger drink Red Bull & that was only place we stopped where somebody (Marvin Jackson) else got into our vehicle was Coleman. I really hate to leave a negative review for anyone but I had to open a yelp account to share my experience with this company. I'll keep this as short as I can and try not to share my opinion, just facts. So I drop my Jeep off to have a "whine" noise troubleshot, now this whine noise is a hard fault not intermittent it happens every day regardless. I finally get a call several days later saying that my transfer case would need to be rebuilt and the cost would be between x-y. Ok so I agreed and I would say almost three weeks later I get a call saying it's ready. The price was in the ballpark and I asked what failed to cause that noise and what did you change? I didn't get the mechanics name but he said "uhhh some bearings, forks, and chain". Ok Whatever I went to go pick it up mind you we are going on a MONTH of it sitting up there. I drive it off the lot BAM whine noise still there like it was never touched. I turn around right then and go back inside to where I was told that "that didn't happen this morning". Which like I said this is a hard fault if you test drove it you would hear it right then and there, it's loud and something is failing or has already, so it wasn't test driven. So I drove around with another mechanic to show him. Ok back in the shop to troubleshoot some more I have to call every week to ask the progress I drove past the shop days on end to see if it's been looked at with not once of them calling me. Jeep is still sitting there in the parking lot. I call back another week later to say that they didn't see any metal in the fluid of the transfer case we need to open the rearend and go from there. going on TWO MONTHS now with me staying on top of it and fowllowing up instead of them letting me know. So it ends up being a pinion bearing and gears. They re gear it with new oil and let her go. Ok, finally! Well guess what happens when I get home. gear oil spots. it's now leaking out all over the garage and the smell of burnt oil from my transfer case fills up fumes in my cab to where I have to crack a window. I really didn't want to leave a bad review I tried my best to be patient and understanding but this was well deserved. I have lost patience and loads of time with them. Two months+, negligence, poor troubelshooting, slacking customer service, now it leaks like faucet. This is coming from a very understanding guy I'm a mechanic myself I understand things happen but this was shocking to me honestly. I won't tell you not to come here, just letting you know what I had to go through and still have to figure out my leaks. I would have appreciated some sort of urgency to resolve this after I paid over 2 grand for work to be done, as well as some phone calls keeping me in the loop. They did NOT charge me for the regear they were honest about that so they did eat a big chunk of money but to give it back after all that to have it leaking to this degree is where I gave up and felt I had given them a solid chance to make it right. read more

My son's transmission died on his way home from college. We happened to take it to Coleman Taylsr on Winchester in Memphis. We had to leave the car since we all had work to get back to in Wisconsin. So they gave us a quote and we agreed to have the transmission rebuilt. Marvin the service manager kept me well informed on the process. He also kept every promise as it pertains to the price I was quoted. If I lived in the mempharea I would recommend this transmission repair facility to anyone. They did a great job! read more
