I was greeted at the door and was seen immediately to get vitals and Dr.Cox was phenomenal in diagnosing what was wrong and a plan to treat my dog Jane. They were able to give meds right there with take home instructions and answered any questions I had. It was quick and staff was great. Very happy with my experience here. Should we have an emergency again I now have a trusted place to go to.

Mind you we've been paying over $1200 a year for YEARS with Banfield. They took our dog in, did all sorts of tests, and prescribed the basic ear infection medication that costs around $60. On top of that, we were charged ~$600 because our card had expired. We have since renewed and paid the lapsed months, but Banfield has refused to reimburse us for the charges incurred while our service lapsed and we were out of town. My guess is a local, independent vet would provide better service at a fraction of the cost. We've had our dog for 15 years now. I'm guessing we've spent $15-18K in annual fees for his care plan over the years. Please think twice before signing up for any plan with Banfield. You're just a number. It's not about care, it's about gouging the customer.

They girl at the front desk will not even allow me to tell her what is going on before she says the vet is to busy and handing me a list of other places to go. I could understand the busy excuse if it happened once but three different times is ridiculous. Don't label your company as an emergency service if you're not going to help all animals in need Or provide emergency service. So unprofessional. My recommendation is advance veterinary clinic on 3300 south and about 1000 east. The vet techs and doctors there are absolutely amazing and I've never been turned away no matter how busy. If you care about your pets steer clear of this place.

She started to have extreme trouble breathing tonight and was in a miserable state, so I drove her over there after midnight. She was at the end stages and I had to make the hard choice to end her suffering as humanely as possible. Staff was absolutely kind and understanding and let me spend time with her before, during, and after the procedure. She died very peacefully. I am so grateful for the professionalism and compassion at the Pet Emergency Room. My heart is broken but at least the suffering is over for my dear kitty who I have loved and cared for since the day she was born.

They were able to get us in same day unlike other vets when we knew she had cancer. They also took us same day 3 weeks later when we said our goodbyes. The room was spacious. As I write this I'm tearing up inside remembering her last moments with our family. My husband paid to have her ashes boxed up and her paw print memorialized. It was done beautifully and personally hand delivered to our door by someone. That last touch of the hand delivery really made me appreciate this facility and while I hope not to have to use them again soon, I wouldn't hesitate.

The place was clean, well lite, calming, and pleasant. There were no other dogs/cats lingering in the waiting area so I didn't have to worry about my dog making a ruckus. Amazing! He's got a sinus cold but thanks to Dr.Thomas he's doing well. They gave me a introductory discount for a first time visit and I saved 50%. This is my fur babies' new primary doc. We had an emergency situation and I called both VCA Cottonwood and the new VCA Sugarhouse urgent care. We were on both wait lists, but unfortunately, their texting wait list service utilizes the same number. When I received a message saying it was time for us to come in for our emergency appointment, I thought it was for the Sugarhouse location, but it was for Cottonwood. This was confusing and upsetting and took extra time canceling our wait list time at one location and figuring out who had a space earlier than the other. After the confusion with the texting system, I drove over to Cottonwood, but since we had not been there for awhile, did not realize the ER was in a building and parking lot next to the original VCA. This building is newer and has other offices inside besides just the ER. It is clean and bright and most of the people we encountered during our visit were helpful and understanding. Dr. Larson was calm, understanding, and caring and spent time discussing different options for our situation and recommendations for care. I felt that my dog was well cared for, loved and shown compassion during such a stressful time. I also love the dog yoga zen sculpture at the entrance.
