My sister and I came here to do a wine tasting on a Friday afternoon. This area of Oregon is known for producing some great Pinot Noir. I generally am not a huge fan of Pinot Noir but that all changes if it's from Oregon's Willamette Valley, which has the perfect climate and soil for it. Coleman is located up a dirt road and the unpretentious tasting room is located within their barrel room, the perfect laid-back, down-to-earth place to enjoy a tasting flight. Their vineyard is just outside, and on a nice day you can sit and enjoy some wine while gazing at the grapes. After being invited to take a seat at the bar, Krystal was informative, friendly, engaging, and conversational as she poured the wine. Water and crackers were provided to cleanse our palates between wines. Our flight consisted of six wines, three of which were Pinots and were the ones I found most pleasing. My favorites were a 2019 and a 2020 Pinot Noir Estate Reserve, both of which I purchased a bottle of to take home. I also had the pleasure of talking with one of the owners, Kim, who was a joy to speak with and learn about the back story of Coleman Vineyard. We have been coming to Coleman Vineyard for over 15 years since we discovered the amazing wine (especially The Pinots!) country starting in McMinnville en route to our home in Lincoln City. Randy & Kim Coleman, son Ryan and Krystal, Assistant Wine Maker have a top notch with beautiful views winery and they are all the nicest people! It is evident that they love where they are and what they do and share their excellent knowledge of winemaking to the max! Every time we visit, we know we will have their delicious pinots - learning more and more about them from the always friendly and smiling Krystal! Kim baked the best foccacia bread we have ever tasted, too! Definitely please include Coleman Vineyard on your wine tasting trip when you're wanting to have a memorable experience that could bring you back over and over again like it has for us! read more

Just happened to stumble across this little gem and so happy we did! The views were amazing and Crystal was I think one of the best hosts we had the entire trip. She was so personable and knowledgeable and made the entire wine making process sound so interesting (not science-y). The views were gorgeous the weather was perfect. I highly recommend spending an afternoon here. One of the most surprising wines was the rose. We aren't fans of whites or rose's but actually left with a bottle of the Rose' and Pinot Gris! I've been trying to get in here for a while now. So, when we saw the sandwich board sign near the now defunct Cafe Uncorked this Memorial Day weekend we took the opportunity to go up here. Nice little tasting room on this weekend they had for $10 tasting fee snacks of cheese, bread and meat as well as pour of about eight wines. I didn't find a wine I didn't like. Friendly and relaxed service. A real home grown business. They are talking about opening up every weekend during the summer. I was told to watch their website. Friendly folks and part of the burgeoning McMinnville AVA. I'll be back again. read more

It was my job to research wineries to visit while in Oregon. Since I have little (and I mean little) knowledge of the Oregon wine scene I turned to Yelp and other sites to get a general idea of wineries. When I saw Coleman Vineyard I knew it would be on our list. The reviews were great and it's Coleman (my last name). The one thing I immediately noticed about Oregon wine country is that the wineries are kinda spread out. I'm used to Napa and even Temecula where you can crawl from one to the next. I liked that. When we arrived at Coleman I noticed that we were the only ones in there. Probably because it was a Friday afternoon and most people were working. The employee that led us through our tastings was amazing. I can't think of her name but she was petite with a short hairstyle. She taught us about the wines at Coleman without being a pretentious wino. I really hate when you taste (drink) wine and you taste something on your palate and the person says, "No, you shouldn't taste berries. This pinot is earthy." Ummm but I taste berries sooooo... Anyway. We also talked about why Oregon Pinot Noir is better than Cali Pinot Noir. I explained that I wasn't a huge fan of Pinot Noir at first and she said the reason why Oregon Pinots are so great is because they pretty much share the same lattitude and longitude with Burgundy, France. Aha! After all the laughing, drinking, and fun times we ended up buying 3 bottles to take home. Let me tell you they were all so delicious it was definitely hard to decide which 3 to get. read more

I have been here a few times. They have a great small staff, let by Melanie. 2 of the 3 times I have been able to meet the owners, Randy and Kim. They are so chill, but know what they are trying to produce. Their Pinot Gris Estate is lovely and has depth, with their three tiered bottling. Their reserve Pinot and their 2017 are lovely flavor with much more time to lay down. Very reasonable price point, with only $15 tasting fee for6 wines, and they give you a little cheese/nuts/crackers for free, that highlight their wines further. Randy the owner and Kristine his daughter provided an exceptional wine tasting experience. My mom, sister and sister in law pulled up the driveway at Coleman's around 3 p.m. on Friday without a phone call or reservation. This is a family owned winery and we caught Randy just as he was finishing up washing his motorhome. He immediately ushered us into the tasting room and his daughter, Kristine appeared to pour our generous flights. Every single wine we tasted (pinot gris, pinot and rose) was truly exceptional. Randy and Kristine were super down and earth and knowledgeable. The tasting room wasn't as "finished" as some I've been in and their deck "with a view" hasn't been built yet, but this was the most genuine wine tasting experience I've ever had. HIGHLY recommend it. Superb wines, fantastic owners/proprietors and a gorgeous property made our experience unforgettable. Out of all of the wineries that we've visited in the US, Coleman Vineyard is our absolute favorite hands-down. The owners are extremely friendly and the wines are astounding. I've tasted hundreds of Pinot Noirs and Coleman's *easily* comes out on top. The Pinot Gris and Racy Red are both excellent as well. It's definitely worth calling ahead for an appointment if you're in the area - I guarantee you won't regret the visit. read more

I can only agree with the other awesome reviews. We have visited Coleman two times; It was the only vineyard we visited twice. The owners are amazing and warm. The wine is fabulous. The types of wine the valley is famous for are better here and the Syrah is awesome as well. Do yourself a favor and set up an appt for a wine tasting. You will not regret it! read more
