Update: I was able to go back and actually try the food, and I'm glad I did. The staff was very friendly, and the wait time was only about 15 minutes this time. While waiting for my to-go order, they even gave me a complimentary chicken soup, which was a really nice touch. The lamb gyro was tasty, though slightly on the bland side for my preference. The double burger, however, was delicious and cooked perfectly. And the fries were amazing -- I don't know what seasoning they use, but I could eat those any day. Overall, a much better experience than my first visit, and I'm happy I gave them another try. Went to try this place tonight but was told there would be a 50-minute wait, even though there were only about five groups dining at the time. Unfortunately, we weren't able to stay and will have to try again another day. Just a heads-up: their phones were not working, and they won't be available on DoorDash until Friday. Also, when arriving, another customer and I had some trouble with the entrance--the large roller door was stuck and wouldn't open properly. These were just a few quirks from my experience today. When I'm able to go back and actually try the food, I'll be sure to update my review.

Just opened and very popular! Good selection and delicious food! Vegetarian too. Check out the Cape Hope memorial while you are here.

We tried Colfax kabob & burger tonight and we are SO glad we did! Everything was DELICIOUS! We ordered the beef and lamb kabob combo and lamb over fries. We also tried the chicken soup and baklava. The service was fantastic, everyone was so incredibly nice. We will definitely be back!

Supposed to be lamb gyro over fries. But nope

We first tried Colfax Kabob and Burger last week and were extremely impressed. The burgers were fresh and reminded us so much of In-N-Out, and the fries were honestly some of the best we've ever had. Our order was spot on, so we couldn't wait to come back. Unfortunately, tonight was a completely different story. After a long day of snowboarding, we stopped in for a to-go order. We waited about 20-25 minutes for the food to be prepared. After another 15-minute drive home, we opened the bags to find a completely wrong order. Nothing was right. My boyfriend specifically told the staff five times no tomatoes or olives, yet they seemed to put extra on. Beyond the toppings, the actual items were entirely different from what we ordered. To make matters worse, the fries--which we loved last time--were cold and soggy. I tried calling the shop at 7:45 PM (15 minutes before their listed closing time) to get this resolved, but the call went straight to a voicemail that hasn't even been set up yet. It's incredibly frustrating to spend time and money on a meal you can't even eat after a long day. We went from being huge fans to being very disappointed. We really hope the management can address the accuracy and communication issues here

We were pleasantly surprised to find a Restaurant that served true Pakistani Food that is Halal…read more There actually is a difference between Pakistani and Indian dishes. While we do enjoy Indian food, it was nice to find Pakistani food. The atmosphere was clean and inviting. We ordered the food to go but shared a Falooda and also drank Chai while waiting for the food to be prepared. The Falooda was rich and creamy with just the right amount of Rosewater. The Chai and Falooda were obviously freshly made. I ordered Saag and Fish Pakora. They were both very tasty. I can only handle mild spicy and Azeem was happy to accomodate my requests. Azeem provided great service and he made a point to cook the food himself and he did a wonderful job. My husband is very picky and I was pleased to see that he thoroughly enjoyed his very spicy dishes. The Tandoori Chicken Legs were juicy, tender and well done. The Goat Karahi was also tender and cooked to perfection. The spices were perfectly used for this dish. The Naan and Rotis were fresh, soft and very tasty. Finally, we would highly recommend this restaurant especially for someone who is looking for authentic Pakistani food which is difficult to find in Yuba City.

We were delighted to find it was a full service restaurant. They have quite a large selection of items on their menu, definitely something to please everyone. We ordered the mint chicken tikka, palak paneer, garlic naan. The mains came with rice. We also had mango lassi and hubby had a hot chai. We sipped on our drinks and nibbled on the naan before the rest of our order was served. The food smelled amazing. We asked for medium heat, but I think it could have had a teeny bit more chili in it. The spicing of each dish was absolutely delicious and well balanced, distinct and not muddied at all. The mint chicken tikka was delicious, the meat very tender. I gleefully wiped any gravy from my plate with the naan, it was so good. Portion size was generous but not overly so. That said, we could have likely been fine ordering the chicken or palak, but my eyes are larger than my tummy and I love tasting all the different flavours. Still, we managed to eat everything. Looking around the large dining space, I noted chafing dishes at the far end, perhaps for special events or luncheon buffet. Our greeter/food server was very sweet and friendly. I would definitely stop in to try something different if we find ourselves in Yuba City again.

When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a waiter who seated us immediately and soon had water for us and menus. He then came back with a small bowl of soup for each of us. I don't know if they change their soup flavors often but this one was lentils with short green rice and it was very very good. I was impressed right away with how friendly he was and one of the kitchen staff saw us and she was just as kind. We ordered a couple of appetizers; one was a dish of olives and 2 types of pickles. It was a nice amount of items. Our absolute favorite was the Toum....a soft whipped dip, Lebanese dip that had LOTS of garlic but not so much that it was overwhelming. We ordered bread to dip into this. It was WONDERFUL. My daughter ordered the chicken pomegranate plate that had chicken that had been marinated in pomegranate and molasses that was on a bed of long grain rice and a salad on the side, which was very fresh and very crisp. I had the chicken shawarma plate which was incredible and my son in law had the lamb kabobs which he really enjoyed. Our waiters were very prompt clearing our dishes bringing boxes along with complimentary baklava that was very tasty and the perfect end to a great meal! My daughter and I both noticed that it was very clean and I thought it was a very relaxed atmosphere. Incredible meal!!!

The pita bread was also so fresh and light with the veggies. The service was great! Workers here greeted us with big smiles and continuously check on us. Server did offer to let us choose 2 different meats for our two #41 Koobideh plates (2 beef skewers for $25), but I think we would have been better off just ordering one #61 All Koobideh plate (3 different meat skewers for $34). One plate has plenty of basmati rice for two people to share. She suggested the two #41 orders, instead of answering how much an extra order of rice would cost. Maybe you can't order a side of rice? Rice comes with each entree. By ordering the 2nd plate, she offered or included the $8 Bread Basket for no extra charge. It was my friend's birthday. I wanted to pay, and she wanted to order extra to go, so I wanted two separate bills, but it seemed too complicated to explain or disallowed. After the food was delivered to the table, server didn't check on us anymore. I guess the restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays. My friend thought all the koobideh tasted the same. I liked them in this order: 1) Lamb, 2) Chicken, and 3) Beef, but they're the same texture, so they aren't all that different. I should have ordered a different 2nd entree, instead of two Koobideh plates. The #18 Bademjan Borani eggplant appetizer was yummy. It did come with some bread, so you don't have to order the bread basket. The bread is served warm. The basmati rice was light and fluffy, but not flavorful or buttery. You can pay a $4 upgrade to switch the rice to salad or a fancier stir fried rice. Read the Vegetarian Dishes menu section to learn about the various fried rice or polo preparations. Our server suggested the Fava Bean Rice or Baghali Polo because it is a Persian New Year dish. Yelp reviewers recommended the Zereshk Polo, which includes barberries, a fruit similar to currants. $10 to add a skewer of veggies. $4 to add a salad is mentioned under the Vegetarian Dishes menu and Seafood & Combination Plates menu. I didn't like how the sugar cubes for the Persian Tea were served. It looked communal and exposed to the elements. You could see sugar dust on the serving bowl. Other Persian restaurants serve the sugar in a smaller covered bowl. Formal dining room. Lunch specials are Monday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm, excluding holidays. Lunch prices range from $16-$20. 3 different $8 soup offerings: chicken barley, ashe reshteh, or green lentil.

I found myself out and about with just my son and and we both thought a char grilled kebab sounded like a fun dinner experiment. We popped in and found who were guessing is the owner's child at the register and placed our order for their signature kebab made from ground chicken and Afghani spices. The plate came with sumac spiked basmati rice, two pieces of the chicken kebab and a small green salad plus a green hot sauce. The kebab was tender and juicy with a great flavor profile and a nice bit of charcoal flavor. We thought the rice was actually exceptional light and fluffy with a hint of that citrus sea tang from the sumac, in a buttery finish, made this a nice light side to the kebab. The salad was fresh and crunchy with cucumber, lettuce, and bell peppers and that green hot sauce was really great and we used it as a dressing because the salad did not come with one. For $16 I just felt like the value was a bit often the plate needed at least one more piece of the kebab because when finished with a small tiny salad and the kebab, we were left with a mountain of rice and that is south wasteful. I just wish the plates here were a bit more valued oriented and I guess it will take more people eating here to kind of drive that up. Highly recommend giving it a try plus the market has some really fun fines too. Share your review and let me know what you think.
