The only variable I didn't define if the font. I assumed the tattoo artist would know best what would work. For some reason, they wanted me to provide artwork. I get it, you do a lot of work and everybody wants something different, but I just wanted a name and date, since the size was specified, the only thing left to debate was the type style. For some reason, they couldn't or wouldn't quote me, I was told that there was a good chance it would be the shop minimum, but they couldn't confirm and with it being 110 degrees, I didn't want to be shuffling up and down the strip when any competent shop should have been able to quote me in advance. That did in fact happen here, and when the people at Illuminati were clear and told me they would present me with font choice that didn't elevate their quote, I ended up using them. I have no idea how much money flows through Vegas, but when people come here, they come to spend. Pardon me if I like to know in advance what I'm spending. So unless Yelp has changed their policy that a review is a unique experience, I trust that this detailed account of Revolt satisfies the terms and conditions I agreed to. Moderation is great, but without integrity, the review system breaks down.

Disarm customers. People have stigmas about tattoo. For some it could be the price, for others it could be the pain and for some it could be the quality. I know what I wanted was so vanilla, that anyone could not only do it, but do it quickly. Originally, I thought Koolsville could do it and I'm sure they could, but in reflection, I didn't want a tattoo that was going to fade or not look like a paid full price. If I had a car and parking wasn't an issue, I might have popped in on all the shops I considered, but again, knowing that what I wanted was a 1 on a scale of 1-10 in terms or effort or expertise, I just wanted to know I was going to get what I needed without being ripped-off or dismissed. The shop that I ended up using understood what I wanted, was able to confirm pricing ahead of time and ASSURED ME, IF I CAME IN, I'D BE TAKEN GOOD CARE OF. That didn't happen in my exchange with your staff. *********************************************************** Yelp claims to be a place of integrity, but at times the review system is abused. Reviews are intended to capture an experience. You don't have to spend money or even be a customer to have an experience with a business and that is exactly what I reviewed for Black Spade. I reached out to them about having work done while I was on vacation. Rather than call them rude or abrasive, which they were, I'll just say they were dismissive. Based on that interaction, I continued to request quotes from other vendors before being treated with respect by Illuminati Tattoos. So, unless Yelp has changed their policy and reviews now require a documented exchange of money. That is my first-hand recount of contacting Black Spade. Some times you got to call a spade a spade.

From the moment we walked in, Jenna at the front desk made us feel welcome. Then we met three incredible artists who each brought their own talent and personality to the experience. Brian did mine, and I absolutely love how it turned out. Alex took care of my friend's tattoo and did amazing work. Abi did my wife's piece, and it came out beautifully. All three artists were professional, friendly, and seriously talented. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We'll definitely be back for more ink.

I wanted to fit into the theme of north arrows but I didn't want to be literal as I already have a compass tattoo. I'm from Oregon and wanted a stalk of lavender and a bee. Tony understood the assignment and made it so artsy I can't stop looking at it. I'm not sure if I asked for an arrow, as I was exhausted from being out as sober support for my other surveyors after hours, but there is a shape of one with the bee and flower. I traced the lines on a photo because I am that professional and so my qa/qc . I truly love it! The whole appointment was a wonderful experience and now we both have a bee tattoo. I never get spontaneous tattoos and I'm so glad this worked out so well. I doubt I'll do it again unless I find Tony! I'll likely find him/travel if I get another larger tattoo in the future. Also, I want to note he was very respectful and aware I was a child of trauma with issues and a fidget toy. He not only watched for any buddy language, but also empathize with me in his families life experiences. Easiest tattoo experience I have had and it erased a "bad" experience relating to another tattoo artist, though their work was also very good.

I originally found Steve through his BioShock flash sheets on DeviantArt. Being a huge fan of all things geek and vintage, this was a super exciting find. I broke out my detective skills and found out where he was located - I was ten times MORE excited when I found out that he was actually located in Vegas. I started following him on Instagram and fell head over heels for an American Traditional Catwoman/Selina Kyle Portrait that ended up being my first tattoo from Steve. We're nearing the end of my first sleeve. He's realistically and conceptually flexible whenever you have an idea that you're trying to translate, and consistently offers excellent suggestions. He's also a stickler for detail - which is especially reassuring when it comes to anything fandom related. He's worked with me while my pain tolerance has lessened and made suggestions for future sessions as well. And, of course, he's clean as fuck. read more

I went to collective tattoo to get a greek mythology leg sleeve and I'm more than satisfied with the results. The shop itself is clean, filled with good vibes, and down to earth people making you feel right at home. My artist was Chance Gomez, the owner of collective tattoo, and his style and skills were the perfect match for what I wanted to get. Chance is a extremely strong artist who puts an immense amount of detail and dedication in his work, always asking questions and making sure every piece is put together perfectly to form a great piece of artwork. My leg has a couple more sessions to go before it's complete but I cannot wait to see what else chance is going to come up with. I couldn't be happier with my find and I'm so great full I found such an amazing artist to help my vision come to life. Mr. Chance was my artist. I won my tattoo from our church (Verve). I had always wanted another one but because of finances I held off. With winning, I had no excuse. I loved the entire process! I really enjoyed the feel of Collective Tattoo. The lobby area was warm and inviting. I checked out all of the artists "cubbies" and was blown away by their own spaces. It was a good way to learn a little about the artists.......to see their inspiration. My artist was Mr. Chance. They others all visited as Chance did his art. It was fun and made the time fly! I was allergic to the colored ink (who knew). Mr. Chance was awesome in making sure I did proper "after-care". He really put my mind at ease. The shop is a warm, welcoming environment to anyone and everyone. The artists are extremely detailed and take on custom work of any size and style. I've been tattooed by Chance Gomez, Dahlia Moreno, and Ryan Gray on multiple occasions over the course of many years, and I'm beyond happy with every tattoo I've received from the team here. The shop is very clean, and sterile. They offer on the spot consultations, and are very accommodating to any wants/needs/questions. The walls are full of designs from the team, and artists that have done a guest spot in the shop. This provides an idea not only for design, but styles specialized by each individual artist. Steve is one of the best artists I have ever worked with! He was extremely professional and quoted me a damn good price for two different tattoos that run the length of my forearms. He did my first tattoo of a little baby groot for my son that was perfect in every way. The colors are still super vivid and everyone compliments me on it as well as my lovely Harley Quinn he did as well. When it comes to comic character tattoos and just overall professionalism, Steve is my choice hands down. He's great at communicating with his customers and takes their ideas and makes them reality, he's also not opposed to changing any of his ideas to fit with what the customer wants. Ryan Gray is the best!! I've gotten 3 medium size pieces from him and he's been very accommodating with me when I'm back home in Vegas from Chicago. Ryan Gray is hands down the best! I've had a lot of work done by him and every time I come back to Vegas I get a little more added to my sleeve! My lines are clean, the detail is unreal and I get so many questions about who did my sleeve. Two young women eventually assisted me, and I showed them a reference image for the tattoo I wanted. They explained that the owner, who is also a tattoo artist, was working with a client. I gave them my phone so they could show the owner the image, and he provided a quote through them. When I asked basic follow up questions about the artwork, neither employee could answer them. The owner then stated that Americana Tattoo Co. was not technically open. As the owner, he should take responsibility instead of using that as an excuse. The door was open, I was allowed inside, and there was no clear communication indicating that the shop was closed. If Americana Tattoo Co. does not want customers entering before its official opening time, the door should remain locked and the hours should be clearly displayed. Anyone placed at the front should also understand the services, pricing, and basic artistic process or know how to connect customers with someone who does. This is an ownership and staff training issue that Americana Tattoo Co. can correct. I hope the owner takes this feedback seriously and creates a more professional, knowledgeable, and welcoming experience for future clients.

The realism and detail in his work that I saw online was pretty amazing. Tropiks Ink is a no-nonsense place of business. It's not some flashy Strip-style studio or overly high-end looking place. It's a comfortable, clean and laid-back studio where each artist rents their own space and does their thing. Honestly, I liked that. The vibes were cool, the atmosphere was relaxed and the conversations between the artists and customers were funny and interesting. I felt comfortable there. When we met Joe Castillo, he was very nice and got right into the specifics of what I wanted. I had already sent him ideas beforehand, but because he's the professional, I wanted his honest opinion on whether certain details would work with my skin tone, placement and overall realism. Most importantly, I needed to know if he could truly execute the details I wanted. Joe told me something that immediately stood out to me. He said, "I would never tattoo someone-not for any amount of money-if I knew I couldn't do it." At that moment, I knew I picked the right artist. I ended up getting two tattoos done that day and the entire process took about 2 1/2 hours. When it was finally done and I looked at them for the first time, I cried. My tattoos came out amazing -- exactly how I envisioned them, with a few slight tweaks from Joe's professional opinion that honestly made them even better. He explained everything first, asked for my approval and then took the lead from there. He was right. The most important part of this tattoo was my pupp's realistic eyes. That absolutely had to be spot on-and they were. Perfectly done. There are multiple artists at Tropiks Ink, all with different styles and specialties, and you can find many of them on Instagram. If you call the shop, they'll also guide you toward the artist that best fits what you're looking for. I absolutely recommend Joe Castillo at Tropiks Ink. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. I surprised him by flying in one of his childhood best friend that lives in Iowa, someone he hadn't seen in 23 years. Of course, we had to make the moment unforgettable, so getting tattoos together just made sense. We chose Ren & Stimpy... a perfect throwback to their childhood and honestly such a fun, meaningful way to capture this reunion. The artists absolutely nailed it. The detail, the vibe, everything came out better than we imagined. A close friend of ours comes here all the time and recommended the shop. Her artist is by appointment only (and clearly in high demand), but the two artists who worked on my husband and his friend were incredible--professional, friendly, and made the whole experience comfortable and fun from start to finish. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff was knowledgeable, and you can tell they take pride in both their work and cleanliness.
