I often review companies on here after services are performed and i am always open and honest. I will not praise a company if i do not feel the work was done at a professional level. I can now tell you that this company is one of the best i have used for "anything" in the last 20 years. The employees were so nice and hands on from a-z. There was not a thing we asked that they said no to. There was not a time they didn't go out of their way to help. Moving can be exhausting, expensive, and for my mother who is 80 years old very draining. All four of the movers were so kind to my mother and she spent the next day expressing her gratitude for the entire moving process. Nothing against the company as such, but I was hoping to get a flexible, as-needed source for periodic labor at my house to move stuff around as part of an upcoming move. Unfortunately they require to send out an estimator for a visit every time I called to set up a job. This would make sense if I was moving to Idaho but not to just move some furniture around in my house. It sounded like way more time and trouble than I needed or wanted (my time is worth money, too!) I will keep looking to see if I can find a more informal service. BTW, the price they quoted me over the phone is $165/hr for two movers, which would add up pretty quickly ($80/hr/person). read more

I have worked with college hunks twice and they are excellent. This time we had Jaylen, Jason, Cody, and, Eric. They are respectful and very hard-working. I had water for them which they really appreciated. And at the end. I gave them all strawberry ice cream popsicles which they really enjoyed. It was the least I could do. DO NOT USE College HUNKS moving! We used College HUNKs Moving to move the contents of my mother-in-law's condo to our home in 2022. They were professional, careful and did things right. We hired them again to move us from RB to SW Escondido in 2025. Not professional, not careful, did not listen to instructions, did not place boxes in the rooms indicated on the boxes into the rooms that were labeled. - We were billed about 80% more than the estimate we were provided. Even we thought something might be amiss the day before the move and requested the estimator to return to re-evaluate. He said could not do so because he was booked and the move was the next day. - One mover carried a small (40"x24"), frosted glass-top computer desk by himself. He held the glass top against his body and could not see through the frosted glass. He then missed the doorway with one leg and gouged the wall in our new home. Luckily for him, the contract says they are not responsible for damaged walls. - We had some boxes that carried some valuable, irreplaceable items and instructed them that we would move those boxes ourselves. My wife went to the truck later and found those boxes on the truck... She removed them. - We labeled some boxes DO NOT STACK because they carried china, dishes, crystal, a turntable, etc. When unpacking at our new home, we found some of these DO NOT STACK boxes with another box on top of them. - They moved some furniture without wrapping it in moving blankets. The base to a glass top coffee table. My wife said, "Shouldn't you wrap that. It's wood." So they did. They did not wrap our black painted metal bed platform frame and slid one side on the bottom of the truck...now scuffed and scratched on one side. They did not wrap or protect our patio furniture which they stacked armrest to armrest and scratched the arms (This patio furniture set was about $2000). CA law says they only have to pay 60 cents/lb for damage.) - Boxes labeled Norman's office were found in the garage. - They dropped parts of the coffee table and a electronics workbench at the old home which would have made it impossible to reassemble or use in the new home. I found them later that day and gave the parts to them. - The refrigerator was originally delivered without having to remove the doors. College HUNKS decided they could only get it out by removing the doors. The doors are no longer aligned vertically. - Gave them specific instructions on a path to the backyard so that they would not damage the landscaping at the new home which they followed until they were rushed and tired. Then they took a short-cuts and crushed plants. (Also disclaimed in their contract) - When they moved my Rubbermaid sheds, they did not carry them from the bottom. I had suggested they use two furniture dollies under the bases. They did not and they fell apart. I had to reassemble them myself. I discussed these issues with the operations manager, Grant, who said that Eddy Jabbour, the owner, is the final arbiter The estimator is one of their best. Well, you did not take the insurance (which the team lead did show us, but dismissed as assurance not insurance in a rather rushed way....like this is a big job and we need to get going). Disclaimers for damages to walls and a long list of other things. When one hires a moving company, one should expect: - some standard base level of care when moving items; - to follow the instructions provided; - to place items in the labeled rooms noted on the labeled box, and; - to not stack other boxes on top of boxes labeled DO NOT STACK Their disclaiming of most of the issues or only offering $200 for the damages speaks volumes about this company's business ethics. Add to that the low-ball estimate. The lack of care for the personal property being moved puts your personal property at risk. The inability to ensure that they have all of the parts needed to reassemble a piece of furniture being moved could put your ability to use that furniture at risk. The inability to follow instructions or labels puts your personal property being moved at risk. The instinct to rush to finish because it was a long day puts your new home and plants at risk. Using College HUNKS Moving owned by Eddy Jabbour is a risky endeavour. You could end up paying significantly more for a move that may result in damaged property - furniture or home. CAVEAT EMPTOR! Grant was absolutely fantastic and worked with our very dynamic situation with the utmost professionalism and understanding. He was quick to respond to all my questions and updates. In the end, we had a couple of very large and delicate antiques to move and the team - Coty, Jesus and Ashton - did a stellar job of carefully wrapping, moving, and then placing the pieces in a tight space surrounded by fragile items. Absolute BAIT-AND-SWITCH pricing!!! I was on a time crunch to have some dirt and items removed. I explained what I had and sent pictures. It was about a pickup-truck's worth of dirt. I was told $125 but could be slightly more if the crew came across any issues. I was told they would be there the same day. I was on a time crunch and the price sounded great, so I agreed to service. Then received a call stating the crew couldn't be there until the next morning, which was fine because it still met my time needs. The crew arrived the next day and told me it would be a $675 minimum, but that was only for the first half hour, and that it would be $40 per 15 minutes for anything over 30 minutes (of course I wasn't told this on the phone). I didn't have time to find another company but wanted to tell them to leave. So I had to agree. It ended up costing me $715. I got screwed. But I had no choice. I won't ever call these guys again unless they are the only choice I have. The guys were fine and did good work. But the company absolutely ripped me off. Shame on me for not getting the quote in writing. But I guess when you trust people, this is what can happen. read more

Contacted this service and was told no problem, we can assist! It may take a few men which we said was fine! They scheduled an appointment to come view the property and then at the last minute asked for photos. We provided photos and waited and waited... followed up 3 times before getting a... we don't want to do this job. Perhaps, you should have come looked at the home first, and or communicated any concerns without me having to continually follow up. Found another moving company, and for less. Day after post, Bree reached out to me and was very kind and apologized. I do appreciate her effort and I know things happen, but we were left hanging. Terrible company! Do not use! The owner Edie is a crook. They gave me one price and then told me I owed several hundred dollars after the job was completed. They wrap tons in plastic wrap unnecessarily. They started at 8am, and I only moved 15 minutes down the road. It took them at least 6 hours more than my last moving company with the same amount of items and boxes and then tried to charge me overtime hours. What a scam! read more

Absolutely fabulous. Same day removal, fast and accurate, carefully removed things to not damage surrounding materials, and reasonably priced. They were respectful, well dressed, fast and efficient. Can't get much better. We called at 1pm, got a 2-3pm spot, They arrived on time at 2:30 and by 2:50 all of our junk was out. We will DEFINITELY call again. I called a couple of local movers for quotes on a recent intercity move of our 2,000 square foot house. Eddy was the only one to offer to come by and give me a quote. He was professional and warm, and gave me a fair quote that he said he thought even with the worst case scenario this would be the price. It was a couple hundred more than my ideal budget but I thought, hey, if I am extra prepared maybe it will move quicker than this worse case scenario, so whatever, let's do it. Really, I was sold on the pitch and knew when he left I would be hiring them. Four guys would come out, they would bring a truck big enough for hopefully just one run, and my move would help their licensed and bonded CH franchise donate meals to hungry families and help move domestic violence victims free of charge. I was all in. Moving day was typical, I wasn't as ready as I hoped I would be with a four year old and a baby, but moving captain Coty and his crew knew how to swoop in and tackle all of my dangling projects, (more than) a few untaped boxes, and some unexpected dismantling. I was also continuously amazed at their ability to get large and heavy items down our L shaped staircase from the front door. Without scuffing my things, like friends and family would if they were helping you move. ;) The guys were seriously well trained to care for your large items when moving in tight spaces and I really appreciate it. It took a bit of Tetris to get it all in the truck but they did, and they got it all out quickly into our new house. They also took some junk for free on their way out, which saved us a trip to goodwill and the dump. The quote was right on the nose and they even had Apple Pay, which was convenient because who knows where anything is on moving day except the phone in your pocket. We used this company for some junk pickup. The guys that arrived to gather the junk items were extremely polite and made quick work of putting our items in the truck. When I called in to schedule someone to come out for a junk pickup, I almost hung up and called someone else. I had told the person answering the phone that it was just some old tile pieces and a piece of concrete. The questions she kept asking were frustrating especially when she asked if I thought they would need more than one truck. With that said, I am glad I went through with using the company but they certainly should change the list of questions they ask going forward. read more

I thought this would be a good company at first since they called and said they were running late due to traffic and would be at our house around 8:25am instead of 8:00am. Fine! Thanks for calling. At 9:00am, we called to see if there was an issue. They said they were picking up from another client and would be to our place around 9:17am. We scheduled a junk pick up for furniture. We have an old sectional sofa, 6 chair size pieces that came apart for easy lifting. I scheduled for an 1/8 of a truck. The other options were half a truck or full truck, which it was definitely not. We were quoted $125 for an 1/8 of a truck, which was plenty. The sectional was disassembled and stackable which would fit fine in an 1/8 of a truck. The people who came complained the entire time they were loading it on the truck, which was 10 minutes total. Not that much work since we disassembled the couch ahead of time. Most of the pieces are light. The truck was already about an 1/8 of the way full. Once on the truck they said that the couch took up 1/4 of the truck and it would be $300. Then he said, wait, it took up 1/2 the truck, that will be $525. Even though the total of our couch and the other stuff in the truck was just over 1/4 full. They ended up charging us $400 to take a junk couch. And then had the nerve to ask for a tip!! This place is horrible and a rip off!!! They are not trustworthy! DO NOT USE THOSE COMPANY!!! read more

Our hunks (Kafu and Will) were A++++++wesome! They showed up on time, respectfully listened during the walkthrough, and got to work. They were careful with our items and the surroundings. They made sure to address all concerns and went above-and-beyond in troubleshooting and resolving a furniture issue. Friendly; efficient; great teamwork; great can-do attitude. At one point, I complimented them on how quickly they were getting things done. They said, "We want to save you money." Wow, I can't remember the last time someone told me that! Scam. Frauds. Liars. My elderly aunt was given a price to move one small item(AND haul small amount of junk away). Even though it was a relatively small job, we were subject to their two hour minimum price, which was agreed to. We were up front with what we wanted and needed from the beginning. Clearly communicating with Bree(over the phone and in person) what was going to be done and scheduled a time to move one item and remove some junk. They came on the scheduled day and moved the one small item and hauled away the small amount of junk. Since the one item was being moved to my mother's house, she went ahead and made the payment for my aunt upon completion of the job. Unbeknownst to me, they ended up charging $200 more than the price that was agreed to. Mind you we agreed to their two hour minimum price(that was very high already) and communicated the job thoroughly; moving of one item and small junk items to be removed multiple times before they came. When I found this out I was upset so I called the owner(out of town- he didn't have time to talk) and then the GM. When I spoke to the GM, named JL, and explained the situation I was met with a pompous child-like attitude. This is how he talked to a customer after being paid over $200 more than was agreed upon for the work. He then mentioned that the quoted price for the two hour min move/junk removal was in fact just for the moving of ONE single item and not the small amount of junk removal that was clearly communicated multiple times in conversations with Bree. So now the absurdly high price to complete this job was only for one portion of the job that we communicated about multiple times. The small amount of junk removal was an extra $200. And he even said that was a discount! I was told multiple times over the phone that "Our moving business and junk removal are separate. We wouldn't have given you a quote for both." WHAT??? We literally discussed moving one item and discussed a small amount of junk to be removed and were given a price, but JL continued to say that's not what they said or meant. After further discussion and still not fully understanding(or admitting) what they did wrong in their business, JL offered a very small discount to be refunded. I would never recommend a company like this. Blatant lies and "bait and switch" tactic in what they were offering. *UPDATE* Response to Mark (several things that were inaccurate in your response) Not sure where you are getting your information or your lies that you are posting on here. My aunt was NOT satisfied at all. Please see my responses to what you said below. I spoke with Bree and JL. Can you please confirm where you are getting all of your information? 1) My aunt wasn't in town. I discussed with Bree before during and after work was completed. I had all of the communication with College Hunks. 2) The moving of one item was completed at my mom's house. After completion she told me the employees of this location clicked through and wrote their own review. My mom was there upon completion,not aunt(who was out of town). My aunt said the price was not the price she was given. 3) I was not aggressive on the phone, rather JL was disrespectful and very defensive, not admitting the fault of Bree or the representation of the quoted price that was given. Bree should confirm with you also that was not aggressive as I talked with her the most. I said few words to the owner as well, because he was out of town. So is this all coming from JL? The one with an attitude towards me? He actually changed his tone quite a bit when he called me back. 4) When I spoke to my aunt, who was out of town, she used the words fraud and bait and switch to describe this business so she was not satisfied in the slightest. Outstanding service today from this company. Specifically I would like to thank JT, Garrett, Robert & Grant. I had a huge entertainment center that they moved from Poway to a home in LaMesa. It was several years old and they realized quickly that the only way it could be moved was in one piece! The blanketed and wrap the piece and carefully moved it out to the truck and then to it's new home. The new owner called and reported the same careful service.
