Mykola and Joseph helped my partner and I move. They were on time, very friendly and did a great job. Mykola was willing to step up and deal with an unpleasant neighbor who was angry about the presence of the moving truck (which, I'll add, was parked correctly and followed the direction of building management). Joseph was super personable and I enjoyed having conversation about our shared interests throughout the day. Only one item was damaged due to a small mishap, but that happens with moving and they worked hard. We were quoted for 7 hours and were done in 4. If you'd like to overpay to have your property treated like junk being hauled to the transfer station, be left with an incomplete job, and have furniture placed where they think "the room was designed for" rather than where you direct it placed, hire these high as a kite unprofessional idiots. Furthermore, if you want to have your claim disrespected and ignored for months on end.....don't waste your money or risk your property. We had to rent our own UHaul to finish moving what they told us they would move that they hadn't in the walk through at origin. And recruit friends and hire TaskRabbits to finish the job. we used College Hunks for a move and they broke the corner of the glass on a big 4x6' painting. instead of being honest about it they faced the painting against the wall and placed other items in front of it. we signed the "all good" paperwork and only realized it was broken after unpacking some of the boxes that were in front of it. it was super shady to try to hide the damage because it is not a cheap thing to fix. I would not use their services again and I will be doing more thorough inspections of my moved items in the future. read more

Extremely unhappy about the false quote. We were told it would be $150 and it cost $500 to move a single dresser. They said it was the heavy weight fee, which would be fine if they were upfront about it. Imagine if we couldn't afford that and had to turn them away when they arrived? I've been chewing on this for weeks and I can't shake the feeling I was tricked. I stare at the website that specifically says they charge junk and donation removal based on the volume that is filled in the truck and that 70% is recycled or donated. There is nothing on the website that highlights the additional fees. The additional fees includes the labor wage, charged in 15 minute increments, the heavy item charge applied to any item over 50 lbs, and the charge for recycling air conditioners which was $50 a piece. The website doesn't say it and neither did the free estimate despite specifically mentioning these items! When I learned of these additional charges, when Jon stood in my kitchen and explained them to me, I was in no position to say no. I had to turn in my keys the next day. The items needed to go. The initial estimate to the final cost was off by 50%. On top of it all, I really was left with the impression that very little would be donated and most would be trashed despite the excellent condition the items were in. I will not dispute any other statement I made about the guys doing the actual work. They were awesome and did an amazing job. I feel for them because between the website and the worst estimator aka just want to make the sale! guy their company puts them in a horrible position of dropping all those extra fees in-person. College Hunks shows no care nor empathy for either their haul away customers or their employees by poorly setting expectations and then letting their field crew take the heat for their utter lack of transparency. I just happened to look back and saw the reply from the business. Glad to see that the dishonesty goes all the way up from the hauler to the social media staff. The original quotes were crystal clear. We spent a minute or two going over the size of the couch and I was specifically told the phrase "Half a truck". The price quote of $149 was also clear. The person on the phone will tell you whatever they can to get you to agree to a transaction. The haulers came in fully intending to charge for different prices. They knew I was out of alternatives at the time of the move and were very aggressive when I tried to push back with what I was promised. I have no reason to be dishonest here. There's a reason for the low review score. My only hope in posting is to try and save others from the awful experience we had. And you can see from the response from the company of my original review that they are completely unapologetic. They would rather lie and continue to dupe folks out of their money than operate as an honest business. It's bait and switch in the worst way. I implore you: go anywhere else. read more

We hired College Hunks at the recommendation of neighbors in a community Facebook group. Multiple people recommended them. We are replacing our downstairs flooring and needed all of our large items moved into our garage, including a refrigerator, washer and dryer, extra large couches and tables, and a piano. Juan Jr and Christiano showed up on time, calling 45 minutes prior to arrival, and were exceptionally friendly and respectful of our home and items. They did not waste any time and made of plan of how to move and store things, asked our preferences, and got right to work. They used great care in moving fragile items, sentimental items, and oddly shaped/heavy items. They were done in the amount of time that we were quoted and asked us to inspect their work once done to make sure everything was to our liking. We are so thankful to have received this recommendation because we couldn't have asked for a better crew. She gave us her card and her "personal line, call me with questions .. anything at all." We called, no answer. We called again, no answer. We called the main office twice. No answer. Emailed. No answer. Completely ghosted after a $339 deposit! Thankfully, we were able to cancel so they didn't try to show up and went with another moving company but I cannot understand how these folk can possibly be getting 5 star reviews. We are now fighting to get the $380 deposit back and we've been "assured" it's being refunded (in 10 days). So yes, if I could deduct stars from other reviews, I would. Do not use these people. Pricing was much higher than what was explained to me via phone. The rep on the phone told the cost to haul away yard waste or junk was by the truckload, i.e., quarter load, half full, full. See picture: Here is the quote that they gave me over the phone and what i was expecting, but obviously they quoted me all these separate pricing for each junk furniture, etc. regardless of how much space the truck took. But the two guys that came to the house showed me separate costs for yard waste of $509, $179 for standup TV because it weighed over 200 pounds (it did not weigh over 200 lbs), and another charge of $150 to remove the same TV (that's $329 to remove one TV!). At first I wanted to remove the yard waste, TV, stationary bike, other smaller items, an armoire (which they said that weighed over 200 pounds (it wasn't and who owns a 200 pound armoire, not me!), and a dresser. The quote was over $1700! I do NOT recommend their service. The two guys did fine. Not their fault for over inflated pricing. There are other more transparent and fair pricing of removal service out there. I wish I did more due diligence like coming on Yelp! BTW, their committed arrival time was between 9-11 am and they were late. Made me late for another appointment. read more

NIGHTMARE : I put a $99 deposit down, canceled within 24 hr and still have not gotten a refund. That was over a month ago. I've called at least half a dozen times was promised to call back. No one's ever called me back. It goes straight to an answering service overseas where all the operators are scripted and basically just give you lift service. This company is awful. TLDR: if you want a non-stressful, professional, efficient move, Seattle College H.U.N.K.S. is absolutely who you want to hire. Some pretext: last year, my partner and I moved from CA to WA, and got bamboozled and taken advantage of by some predatory moving brokers (stay away from Menard's!). Because of that, I had serious anxiety about this recent move. Though it was only 13-miles intra-Seattle, moving is still a vulnerable, raw experience. Seattle College H.U.N.K.S. vaporized my anxiety and stress, from start to finish. So, first off: huge, massive, incredible shout out to Gabi, who performed the complimentary in-person assessment. She was kind, patient, and most importantly, thorough, while evaluating our 3 bedroom townhouse. She assuaged my uncertainties, answered my questions, and explained the process and costs, all in a quick, efficient 20-30 minutes. She immediately provided the estimate/inventory and booked our appointment. I immediately got to packing and boxing in preparation for the move in two days. Moving day: the morning of, I received the heads up call from one of our movers, exactly at the promised time. Our three movers - Mykola, Cristiano, and Anton arrived shortly after and immediately got to it with a quick walk through before loading. These three guys are beyond wonderful: efficient, communicative, and careful! They wrapped, moved, and loaded our three bedrooms and garage items in about 2.5-3 hours, way faster than I thought it would take. Unloading at the new digs: the guys did an incredible job unloading our boxes and items in the appropriate places. They were communicative about where items should be unloaded, and super fast at getting everything off the truck! It took about 1.5-2hrs. The final bill was about $200 less than the original estimate, which was an unexpected great surprise! Finally, I'd like to give special note to the fact that they were highly respectful of both our property and the homes during the move, ensuring nothing was dropped, dinged, or damaged. This is probably the most important aspect of moving to me as quite a lot of our stuff got damaged and the townhouse had to be thoroughly cleaned after our interstate move. However, Mykola, Cristiano, and Anton all went above and beyond to keep everything clean, organized, and protected! My partner and I are planning on purchasing a home in Seattle within the next year, and I will absolutely be coming back to Seattle College H.U.N.K.S. for the stress-free, professional, and trustworthy service. We had some old dining chairs to dispose of. I tried to get a quote upfront and the customer service person kept telling me, "We send the Hunks to look at your items and then they'll tell you the cost to remove them." Okay, so the Hunks arrived and gave us a price, promptly removed the items, but they charged us a card processing fee for a debit card purchase. Generally, credit card purchases come with a fee, but not debit cards, since the money comes directly out of your checking account. Furthermore, who carries cash these days and how would you know how much cash to have on-hand if they don't tell you upfront how much your junk removal is going to cost? read more

We used College Hunks a few years ago to move a couch from one house to another 30 miles away. Their price was fair at that time. We used them today to have them move a dresser and nightstand 6 miles away. I was quoted $179 and then told the cost was $288 when the items were delivered. We recently used this company's services on 10/16/24 to haul away two love seats, a 40" TV (which they charged an extra $150 for), two sets of speakers, and a lightweight lawn mower. They charged my boyfriend a total of $594, which was ridiculously overpriced for the items they removed. Unfortunately, I wasn't there at the time, but if I had been, I would never have agreed to such an inflated price. We had interrupted service because of the Storm, but the Hunks arrived on time at the Storage Location but because we had no power we were unable to access our Storage Unit, we rescheduled the next day. The reason why I am bringing this up is to inform you that the communications between the Company and ourselves were excellent and the response times almost instant. JORDON & JB were our movers. They brought a covered truck to haul everything out of the Storage Unit. The main reason we used College Hunks is that they will take items that are in good condition to Donation Centers that will give them new homes. A few previous days there was a person that came out to give us the bid after seeing what we had. He looked at the items we wanted to donate and he said they were donating to a place that was for housing and were trying to furnish ten small housing units. We did want some furniture items to be delivered to our residence. JORDON & JB looked at the work that needed to be done and promptly loaded up the truck in an hour. The Donations went in first and what we wanted was loaded in last. They then drove to our location and made two trips and the job was completed. Our parents both passed away and the Storage items was very difficult to do, it took almost a year before we could deal with it. We couldn't have nicer strong, outgoing , young men to assist us with this project. They were funny, and worked well as a team. I dealt with many, many moving companies because I was a Porter in an expensive apartment complex that had movers in and out of the building almost twice weekly for four years. So I truly appreciated how hard JORDON & JB worked, how they made it fun, and it was a pleasant experience. I've seen moving disasters. Movers arriving hours or even days late, movers fighting with their customers, movers accidentally damaging the building or the items they were moving, and worse... movers arriving at the apartment complex with absolutely no moving equipment like four wheel Dollies, or Hand Trucks. The customer service and consultant who came to give an estimate were wonderful. The staff who came to our house to start with packing, made comments that we had a pillow with cat urine and wanted to charge $500 extra for a hazmat suit. The pillow was a gel pillow that had leaked and we were throwing out. Initially they also said we had feces everywhere but backtracked when confronted as there was none. We weren't home our friend was and they were taking advantage of the situation. When I spoke with them on the phone they never mentioned any concerns and the consultant didn't see it either and admitted that. There was nothing there. We ended up canceling the move and doing it ourselves because I wasn't going to pay $500 extra for a leaking gel pillow that was gone by the time they would have come over anyways. read more

I TRIED to get an accurate quote by using the company address to map how far it is from my storage unit and my house. I 1st asked them to determine how much travel time (as they make you pay for travel time - including traffic). When he couldn't seem to give me an answer outside of a very generalize one that does not include Seattle traffic, I asked for their address so I could map it myself. I didn't think it was an outrageous request, what is the company address?!? He just kept repeating the generic time answer that was not the address. I kept saying, "that is not what I asked, you already said that. Please give me be address so I can map how far away you are and I can figure out the actual travel time". But NO. He flat out refused. I asked for his manager so I could get the information that way. He refused. I asked again, he said vaguely someone may call me back- they didn't. Surprise surprise. Super speedy scheduling and great availability. I booked a next day slot the night before online and got a fast response and confirmation. The crew kept me well-informed on their arrival time and gave several updates on timing throughout the day. Ethan and Antoine were friendly, professional, and respectful of our home and property. We had a full truckload of things to be removed, and they guys got it done in 45 minutes. Heads-up there are a couple charges not obvious on the website. In addition to the fee based on how full the truck is, they charge $45/hour for labor, and $150 per "heavy". What is considered "heavy" is decided by the crew. It made the final bill more expensive than I anticipated, but I was glad to have the things out of the house and hopefully on their way to someone who had use for it. There are few companies who will pickup donations anymore, and College Hunks Hauling Junk saved me a ton of time and energy by coming out to the house. I would use them again, for sure. read more
