My suggestion would be to put seal coat on top of the crack filler so that there is not such a noticeable difference between the colors of the two products. The difference in color, along with the open crack, have made the problem more unsightly, not less. read more

I setup my appointment on-line; I prepped my driver way by powerwashing it a few days ahead but that really is not neccessary. I had received a quote via e-mail and mail early in the summer and they honored it. It was a flat rate and less than what I have previously spent of sealer to do it myself. I received a text @ 7:00 Am the day of my appointment indicating the crew would arrive between 1:30 pm - 4:30 PM. They [two men] arrived promptly @ 1:50 PM. I greated them as I moved my car out of the drive. They blew the driveway and started working immediatley. They used a large, very large, squeegee to move around the sealeant and did it lenghthwize which took about three passes to cover my two car width driveway. They made a second pass and were extremely careful to NOT get any sealant on my walkway or edge where the drive meets the lawn. The entire asphalt is covered. They were here 11 minutes! It took them 11 minutes to do my ~6 car driveway. They were efficient and freindly. I thanked them for their work and they left. Cheaper and faster than I have done it in the past. The pictures show orange cones which are mine but they provided the two stakes and yellow tape to rope off the drive from delivery persons. read more

Great job, fast and efficient and showed up on time. The top seal was put on in least than an hour and everything looks great for the most part. One ding: They sealed right over a few small oil spots that I didn't notice. Those areas did not take the sealant. This company stands behind their product. We started having cracks in our driveway after a year. Without any pressuring, they immediately agreed to replace it. The team was at my neighbors promptly at 7:30 and maybe a little bit before. They started early to give it enough time to dry before the tropical storm with rain Saturday. The coating was thick enough, evenly applied, and covered up even some rust stains on the asphalt. They even went over the sides to seal some cracks all the way down to the grass. The work they did was evenly applied with no splotches from tossing buckets like a competitor had done years ago. It was thick enough to cover up some spider cracks that I had. The work was wonderful. Honestly, it was worth a whole lot more than I paid. They beat a major competitor on price and they did a better job than their largest competitor. We had to wait 2 days to drive on it because of the cooler temperatures and the rain. So far so good. It looks great and I will use them again. It won't cure as fast as it does in the summer and some houses have shade on northern driveways since the sun sitting further south. read more

Collegiate Sealers gave me a time window and stated in a text and email that they would knock on the door or ring the doorbell upon arrival. They did not ring the doorbell or knock on the door. I was waiting for them to arrive. I went outside only to find they had come and sealed the driveway. My car was inside the driveway. I called and they said they would not come back until four days later but that I would have to pay again. I was not happy they did not do what they said they would do by ringing my doorbell or knocking. read more

I asked for a quote for a minor repair on my driveway & was told by Brittany (customer service) that the minimum amount would be $2,000. This minor repair could easily be patched and then the driveway sealed. I have put a whole new driveway 2 inch cap previously for $1,400. Why would a small hole cost 2,000??? Workers showed up and demanded our sick at home teenager walk to the neighbor's house to find out if they were also being serviced that day because they had no idea which homes in our neighborhood they were servicing. We paid on time and received a verification email of payment received. They continued to send past due notices for months because their accounting department is a mess. read more

DON'T USE this company for Gutter Cleaning. They didn't come when promised, weren't "able" to give us a date for rescheduled gutter cleaning. The person on the phone must hate it there - was full of excuses about how disorganized they are, etc... Totally unreliable. read more

Have used them for years now and either the quality of work or the materials they use is on the decline. The driveway comes out streaky and dull unlike it did when we first started. They will not do another coat unless you pay again. I don't mind paying if it feels worth it but this doesn't. read more

Collegiate is very cheap and fast but not careful or respectful. When we called to let them know there was a problem they offered to send out their clean up Blade Runners in two weeks to correct the sloppy work. My neighbor is selling her home this week and so they did send someone today who made it clear he was very unhappy to be called into work. As a result he was rude telling me to get the paint and he would paint over what wouldn't clean up on the wood. I am very unhappy with the lack of apology from the workers who were responsible and for the follow up care for our home. I'm very reluctant to write any negative review especially in Covid when businesses need all the help they can get. Use another company. read more

I am no longer using Collegiate Sealers based on the poor quality job and mess they left. This has now become a pattern, and enough is enough. Collegiate arrived to my residence and blew off the driveway, filled existing cracks again (without filling any new cracks), and coated the driveway before I could walk outside to pay them. Once I could walk on the driveway to see the work up close, I realized quality workmanship was not there: 1. There are small leaves on the driveway that are now sealed in by the top coat 2. Only the largest cracks were re-filled, not the smaller cracks that are developing and needing protection (and these are not spider-web cracks or hairline cracks, these are new cracks that I was really hoping would be protected) 3. There are now permanent footprints on my driveway from where the staff walked off, and ugly tar footprints all over the road in front of my house as they loaded back up the truck. That is not professional, period. While I see some reviews talk about how careful Collegiate appears to be with controlling splatter, that's not 100% true. My garage door has black tar splatters on it, including many splatters on the cement ledge where the garage meets the driveway. They operate so quickly, there's no care taken. If you use this service and you have any valuable materials near the driveway surface, I would definitely mask it off with newspaper and tape, or plastic for larger surfaces. I would also put down cones or markers on the driveway to show the cracks you want sealed. Don't leave it up to Collegiate, it seems like they don't perform preventative maintenance on cracks until they start growing weeds. Please take the steps I mentioned above to protect your home and try to be there to inspect the job as it's being done. Give a second check on the driveway for debris before the chemicals start flying. read more

Just had my driveway sealed by them, but they left a corner undone. They did not bother with a hand tool to get around the sub-pump outlet exhaust pipe. I had to call them and explain and then text them back with pictures. Let's see if they will respond to my text with pictures and get this done right. Just because they use a large squeegee to do most of the driveway, doesn't mean they leave an area unsealed. Also, in parts of the garage, they did not seal the driveway all the way to the edge of the garage wall. It left a 1 inch border strip of the driveway unsealed. Just seems like a quick and sloppy job. They took all of 15 minutes to blow the driveway and seal it. This is annoying for having me to call them and send them photos when it should have been done right in the first time!!! Stay tuned, if they don't respond....rating will be downgraded. Update: They got back to me the next day saying they will come back next week to do the touch-ups. If they simply used a brush to get to the right spots, it would be done in one shot! read more

Collegiate was our third attempt to find a company to replace our driveway. A few years back, my husband looked at that "List" (the one where you find reviews of various companies). The first company that had great reviews came to our house, looked at the driveway and promised to get back to us with an estimate. We never heard from them again, even though we called them to ask. The second company---well, we gave up when the man we talked to jerked us around. He said he would come at a certain time, then no, wait! can't come then. After the fourth time of this, my husband told him to not bother. So...finally the driveway looked so bad we knew we couldn't put it off anymore. My husband called Collegiate. They told us that they would come by in a week. Much to our surprise, they came by a couple of days later. After looking at the driveway, they emailed us an estimate plus a contract. It was up to us to read it over, sign it and fax it back to them. What pleased us is that even though we knew that they were licensed, bonded and insured (apparently there are companies out there doing this type of work who are not), they sent along a copy of their license and insurance info. After we faxed it back to them, they got in touch with us and gave us a date as to when they would come, as well as instructions (such as open the garage door when they arrive). Well...much to our surprise, they called again to tell us that they could come 5 days earlier! They showed up in the afternoon along with all their equipment and got right to work tearing out the driveway down to the dirt. We had a bush that had some branches that were in the way and they not only trimmed them back but cleaned up the trimmings. All in all, it took about 4 hours from start to finish. When they were done, they presented us with the invoice which we paid on the spot. The new driveway looks very nice and is holding up quite well. We had to stay off it for 2 full days. They put tape out front to block it off---and of course to give themselves some free advertising LOL! The tape apparently worked. Last week we were getting ready to leave the house when we noticed a Collegiate truck head to a house a few doors down to seal a driveway. We drove by for a look---their seal coating looked great! As an aside for VA residents --- Some years back a contractor in the construction fields told us that in VA if you hire someone to work on your property that isn't licensed, bonded and insured, should that person get injured on your property, your homeowner's insurance doesn't cover it. Different states have different laws---just take note when hiring companies. Okay, off my soapbox now :) We are glad we hired Collegiate and recommend to anyone who needs to get a new driveway or seal coating to give them a call. read more
