During the job, they splashed some of the sealer on our garage door, but they came right back to clean it off, good as new. We paid this company $1070 to seal one long driveway and a smaller side driveway. The guy who came out to the bid was nice enough and seemed to understand what we were looking for. However, when the two man crew arrived, they were only here about an hour! It felt rushed and sloppy. They did not fill all of the cracks, the cracks they filled were not sealed completely, and they missed the entire side driveway. I've always felt that when things go easy, peasy, it's great but the real test of a company's quality and service is when something needs to be fixed. I was very disappointed with this service. They sprayed and dripped the sealer all over the patio pavers on both sides of the driveway as well as on the apron and on the garage door. It is a mess. when I called to let them know about this problem the man I spoke with told me I could buy some goo gone and remove it myself. I should have read the reviews first. They completed my driveway. Once done, we noticed cracking almost immediately afterward. I brought this to their attention and I was pleasantly surprised they came out and admitted they did a poor job on the foundation for the new driveway. They agreed to fix their work. Well, they only fixed one section. Now our driveway looks patchy. I thought they were still going to seal the driveway or do something to make it more anesthetically pleasing. Nope. They sent a huge bill and said they completed their end of the bargain. I'll agree to the one star because they did offer to come out in the Fall and seal it. I will update if they do. I do not recommend this place. We were told they would fill in the cracks. We were not told that the cracks would still be visible and look like they are not sealed at all. Looks exactly the same before they did the work. Then when I complained they pointed me to extremely small fine print saying these "spider web cracks" would still show. Most of our driveway was spiderweb cracks. They should have told us that and then offered the upgraded service which is adding more asphalt. Instead of being honest and giving me the complete picture, they just wanted my business. I would have gone with the upgraded service had I been informed and educated. I highly recommend this company. I requested service during a rainy few weeks and they had to postpone several times. Their communication was excellent throughout the whole process. A few spots were washed out due to unrelenting rain and they simply came back, assessed, and fixed it very well. Next time I need any services they offer they will be my only call. read more

The driveway was paved in 2021. Within 2 years, part of the driveway sagged and was repaired with a shoddy patch reminiscent of a rundown strip mall pothole repair. Additionally, grass is growing through the asphalt inches away from the edge, meaning the asphalt was originally applied carelessly, too thinly, or otherwise improperly. Academy's response is to alternately blame the customer for damage or ignore emails when the initial response to the issue was questioned and/or rebutted. Their go-to solution is to recommend their annual tar application. It must be nice to first install a shoddy product and then generate annual recurring revenue to cover up the original subpar work. In sum, I wouldn't recommend Academy. read more

We've used Academy Sealers twice; both times they responded quickly to my e-mailed request to have our driveway resealed, provided instructions for preparation and a reasonable quote in their response, showed up as scheduled, and did a great job. During my daily walks I also notice other driveways that Academy has resealed, and every one of them looks just as good as ours. they were on time and courteous unfortunately, left some of the cracks completely filled in. I'd have to say a below average job I've used them in the past and this was not typical. I have a task of video before hand to make sure they said a half inch crack would be filled, and they did fill in parts needed another five minutes worth of work. They were here less than one hour and they were very reasonably priced at $650 but again I'd only be able to give them three stars not typical and if this was a work I'd have to look elsewhere before I rebook them. Misleading ad, and unprofessional customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone I know. The postcard said that they will clear the dirt and debris. Our driveway had some grass growing, and we didn't know that they wouldn't pull those out. They should at least let me know on the spot that our driveway had grass, and they wouldn't pull any out. They would just seal it that way, and those cracks wouldn't be seal. I would have pulled the grass out myself before having them pouring the tar on it. They said it said on their postcard that they would only clean dirt and debris, and treat large cracks. When calling them, they said that it isn't their responsibility to pull the grass out. So I asked them once it's dry, we can pull the weeds out, then they can come out to reseal those cracks that are there. They said that they won't automatically do it. I will have to send picture to them, and they will consider it case by case. I'm definitely unsatisfied with this misunderstanding. And the man on the phone seemed irritated with my concern. He pretty pointed out that it was my fault for thinking that way. I would not recommend this company to any one I know at this point. read more

Unusual but I'm giving Academy Sealers high marks for talking me out of sealing my driveway in the cool, fall weather and to wait until spring! I was keen to get my driveway sealed prior to selling my house but they pointed out that my shady driveway could take a week or more to dry and if it rained it would spatter and stain the garage doors and anything else nearby. We had them reseal our driveway. After reading other older reviews, apparently they're under new management. I had a very good first time experience with them with standing behind their work. The workers used nice straight sweeps over the first half of our driveway, but toward the last half they spread it in zig zag sweeps, which was unsightly and somewhat thin. So I took pics and sent them to Ed Brophy, who had the crew redo it to my satisfaction. So kudos! read more
