I am mixed right now, the sales hype on all the services they will provide at installation are not matched by the sub-contractors actually doing the work. Level the gutters? by eyeball, not a real level. Slapped the panels in quickly. Clean out was with a leaf blower. @ about $35 / ft. after all the supposed "discounts, sale events , etc. for a screen slid into an extruded vinyl frame. Now compared to my buddy's "gutter helmet", in heavy rain , I don't get the run over of water, really key, but over time we will see if the small debris is an issue. I only had a portion of my home done, the rear by the trees, on the second story. Big word of caution, the subs work on the roof leaning over the edge without any safety harnesses or fall protection, completely contrary to OSHA rules. I caught them at the end or I would have halted the work and thrown them off my property. When I spoke to the company, they said "we train them, but can't require them to use it", "don't worry we have insurance". Speaking to my insurance guy the next day, he chuckled and said, well 'they' do, but when the sub falls, he will claim against the homeowner insurance, as in ME!. scary, besides who wants a terrible (possibly fatal) accident on their property seen by their kids? If you know the subs work unsafe, just fire them Leaf Filter. Based on the business's reply, I have uploaded 2 pictures of 2 separate contractors on separate days (weeks apart) front and back of my home. read more

Very disappointed. The LeafFilter design is flawed and traps debris clogging and obstructing the flow of rain run off. Leaffilter informed they would charge $95 for a service call if the technician determines that the issue is not "covered" under warranty. Clogging and system failure is noted under warranty - they insist my issue is not a clogging issuing will most likely not be covered. I requested a manager contact me and to date, no contact. read more

If Woody really cared about his customers he would have been calling the day of the scheduled installation. If I could give Leaffilter less than 1 star I would. They installed my leaf filter incorrectly to where it had gaps in it. It had only been a month! Only way I found out was because I was taking a look at the roof (my house is 3 stories). I called and complained to the warranty department and all they said was we'll have someone out to fix it. It took them another month to even get someone out. I had to keep calling to get them to do the right thing. Their customer service is a joke. Ryan in the Northern VA area needs to be coached on customer service. I requested a follow up call after having to escalate to the regional manager, Eric Schlick, and he never returned my call. NO ONE cares about your dissatisfaction at all. I regret buying this product based on this experience, so no I will not recommend them to anyone! Save yourself some headache with unprofessional people! read more

I had somebody who was very nice come out and give me an estimate for their gutter guards. I have 104 ft of gutters on my house and the estimate for their guards was $4,100 Then they were willing to apply discounts Then they were willing to haggle Then it got all the way down to $1,200 which made me question exactly how much of a markup is on this product. I found someone else who was willing to do the exact same job without the steel mesh on top for $725 and was able to do it the same day. You cannot possibly convince me that some stainless steel mesh was worth all that extra money. read more

Water pouring off roof instead of going into gutter during the gentle rain today. This did not happen prior to leaf filter installation. Leaf filter was installed on May 3, 2021. Company not standing behind their work. Amanda, thanks for suggesting we phone in for a service call. We did that before I wrote this review. A service guy come out. He didn't fix the problem. After an exceedingly long presentation of the quality of these leaf filters for gutters, about an hour and a half, it sounded as though we were investing in a good product that would never need future servicing or cleaning. We were told that the gutter replacement could be done in a day with possibly three men installing. The salesman looked at his schedule and said they could do the next day. Only one installer came out two hours late the next day and he was here for less than an hour. He did not clean up the mess he created on our decks as was part of the contract. Since the installation we've had a few powerful rainstorms and the down spout in the lower level leaks. The salesman never did a follow up call to get our impression of the product or the work. We were charged close to $2,000 for a town house and I feel incredibly taken advantage of. read more

I am not sure about Leaf Filter as a company, but I had the worst experience working with their Chantilly, VA location. They don't even deserve to have 1 Star to be honest. I reside in Montgomery County and had an unfortunate experience with a salesman with Leaf Filter. I did learn a lot in his long presentation but he said he was an engineer not a salesman and I attempted to shorten his pitch but he pushed along. I signed a no money down contract. I had said I wanted to think about the offer and not sign but she said I could not lock in the offer if I did not sign. I cancelled the next day as I got another estimate from a roofing company. I had 5-7 days to cancel. The salesman called me twice, once after 9 pm and begged me to discuss the cancellation and offered me a lower price. He also texted me repeatedly even after I asked him to stop. He also made comments about my lack of professionalism as I am a business owner. M read more

I had to endure a lengthy, high-pressure sales pitch to finally arrive at a very high estimate for 100' of gutter covers (the final LeafFilter gutter cover estimate was higher than the price I had paid for the new gutters 18 months earlier). The initial price was over $7,500, which the salesman eventually dropped to $3,750. I went with a locally owned installer, Amazing Skylights, for less than one third the cost of LeafFilter, and they seem to be very similar construction, and have worked just fine. read more

Don't let this happen to you. They installed the filters and neglected to tell me that my facia boards were damaged and the guards would not perform well. Six months later I decided to have new windows installed and that's when I was alerted that the gutters were separated from the facia boards and water was getting into the house and into the windows. Needless to say, we then had to remove the gutters and guards, repair the facia then install need gutters. This time I went with 6in gutters instead and removed the brand new recently installed 5k filters. To help you better understand, I was sold new brakes but my rotors were bad and I never even needed brakes. A better sales person could have made more money by recognizing the gap and that would have resulted in a happier customer. BTW, I have reached out to the company asking if I could return the filters for a partial refund but have only received the run around. I will update this review once the company understands better how word of mouth directly relates to customer retention. read more

This company has terrible customer service. They installed some screens on drains on my rooftop that empty into a main gutter. The screen holes were much too small and were responsible for water damage in my home. Luckily, I had a contractor who fixed what would've been many thousands of dollars of damage. I noticed that there were some leaves in one area of these Drainage ports. They had to be there when leaffilter was here in the beginning. Since my contractor replaced the screens with proper ones and did some minor work on what leaf filter did, the dismissive and curt receptionist in service, said my warranty was voided since somebody else worked on my equipment, which was sort of an emergency , I will never use this company again. I will never recommend them to anyone Buyer beware !!!!!! read more

The LeafFilter product is working well, as advertised. However, if you do decide to go with an installation of this product, be ready to do a lot of cleanup afterwards. Even your neighbors may need to clean up their yard as well, especially if you live in townhome like we do. LeafFilter apparently uses subcontractors to install their product...very quickly, I might add. Nicholas and his 2 man crew worked and had the job ALMOST done in about 30 minutes. I am guessing they get paid by the job and really hustle so they can move on to the next job. Notice I said ALMOST because they did not clean up after the job to my satisfaction. I still found small amounts of hardware in the front yard, on my deck and plenty of helicopter seeds that had been in my former gutter hardware which had fallen in our front, back and neighbors' yards. When the sales rep came to my house and quoted me a price, he said this included "clean up". If the subcontractors are not going to clean up the whole messy aftermath post-install, they need to make their customers aware. My poor neighbor also had to spend her time and energy cleaning up after the job they performed. I called numerous times to try to get someone out here to take care of this. Once, the subcontractor, Nicholas, came on a Friday afternoon with no tools. He said he could use my broom and dustpan. I told him that would not work very well since lots of helicopters had lodged in between the planks of our deck, so I offered use of our Ridgid vacuum cleaner. He told me that he actually lived near me and that he could come the following day to do it. I made the mistake of trusting his word. He didn't come Saturday, nor Sunday. He gave me his business card when the install was finished, so I emailed him and have yet to receive a reply from him. My last phone call involved talking to the manager and him asking me to email him pictures. He said he would talk with Nicholas about this. I never received a response to my email or a visit from Nicholas. This was a very disappointing experience and really poor customer service on the part of the local LeafFilter team. read more

Lots of red flags with this company. I saw the ad on line and requested a quote. Within 1 minute (yes, 1 minute), I received a call to schedule an estimate (red flag). I asked to get one over the phone and was told that it had to be in person. Also asked to schedule it when my wife was available (red flag). I told the person that my wife would not be available, but the person kept on insisting that she be there for the estimate and presentation. I politely told him that she would not be available. Came up with a date, person arrives (my wife was at home, but in the basement), person insists that she be present (another red flag)... We do the measurements and he give me the presentation. My wife wasn't present, she was in the middle of taking a test and couldn't break away. The demonstration was decent, but I had questions, especially with how he showed how the water is collected... would be fine for light to medium rain, but heavy rain, I don't think it would work... Anyways, the price I was quoted was $5300, but then the person asked if I had any discounts to apply... I told him to give me the bottom line price. He said that he had extra 'mailer' discounts available and could get it down to $3800, but just for that day. He then tried to get payment. I told him that I wasn't booking that day and would have to think about it and discuss with my wife. At that point, I got every high pressure sales technique that basically was invented (another red flag). Felt like I was in a time share presentation. Lots of pressure to sign that day. He was on the verge of getting aggressive. I told him that I would get back with him. He stated that he was annoyed that my wife wasn't there at that time. Also stated that he 'could make some calls to get a better price'. I told him that the purpose of the estimate was to get a quote only. I had no intentions of booking on that day. Honestly, I was actually expecting all of this from the initial phone call... wasn't a total surprise. Anyways, next morning, I get a text from their 'operations manager' stating that they will do it 'at cost' for $1760 (red flag). So basically, the price went to a third of the original quoted price. Nothing is done for cost... What exactly is the mark up here? I'm not going with this company. I did a lot of checking. Many reviews on different sites that are very similar to my experience... from different parts of the country. I have no reason to believe that the other negative reviews about the lack of follow on customer service aren't also also true.... Just the way that the company does business. I also have the suspicion that some of the positive reviews may have been planted. Before you book with this company, do your homework and don't get rushed into this company too quickly. read more

If you live where you get ice and snow, DO NOT get LeafFilter gutter protection. When the ice/snow melts from your roof, goes OVER the gutter because of filter, leaving a mess and potential ice/water damage on driveway/home. When called, they said that's the way it is and nothing they can do. Asked to have filters removed and money back and they said can't help me.
