Poorly finished edges on a freshly painted panel totaling more than $1700. I'd be embarrassed to charge that much for those results.

Summary: takes shortcuts to maximize profit at the cost of quality, overpriced and more importantly belittles as wells as insults customers. The owner had the audacity of calling me a scammer. Stay away if you care about a quality job and being treated with respect. Keep reading for all details. Initial impressions were very good with polite greeting and timely service. The damage on the car was inspected and a thorough discussion took place as to the history of the panel as far as prior repairs and nature of how the damage had occured. The proposed plan for fixing the panel was exactly what I was looking for so I didn't mind the hefty price tag. All was well until I was called the very next day, less than 24hrs stating that the large panel had been fixed. Immediately I spot serious flaws attributed to dust needling to be washed, when clearly it was sparingly sprayed base coat. I was very understanding of the situation and allowed the owner to pursue his theory of "just needing to be cleaned with a clay bar." Later that day I receive a call stating that the flaws were in the paint work and it was all being attributed to the panel being repaired before, something the owner was well aware off before accepting the job. He went on to state that he would typically charge more for that sort of repair but he would take care of it "free of charge." That's when the first major red flag popped up. Clearly he attempted to take a shortcut by limiting prep time and material use to maximize his profit. Two days later, I receive a call stating the car is ready. I go pick up the car the repair looks really good and I was excited of how it turned out. A few days later, when washing the car, I notice paint missing from the edges of the panel so I give them a call to have it inspected. Upon inspection, the owner blames the defect on the prior repair. After much discussion, he offers to respray the edges which was he right thing to do. Two days later, I pick up the car and noticed not much was done aside from dabbing some paint on the edge, something I could have just done at home. Before leaving, he states there is charge for that unprofessional repair and that point, I just wanted the car back and be done with it so I paid. Later that night, I wash the car and the touch up paint came right off meaning the base coat was not sealed with a clear coat at all. I take the car back to be inspected again. The owner was not there, but the receptionist as courteous as ever and the only positive thing about this business, inspects the car and was very understanding of the situation. The owner arrives a few minutes later, inspects the car and offers to fix it for an additional fee. I was not willing to keep paying for shady work so I tried to reach an agreement by asking for a partial refund for a job he clearly could not deliver and at that point I was belittled and insulted. The owner had the audacity of calling me a scammer when all I wanted was a job well done deserving of the amount of money charged. The lack of accountability and responsibility coupled with the ambition for a quick dollar led to this situation after learning other responsible body shops would not have accepted the job knowing there was a chance they could not deliver the results promised. The right approach would have been to be upfront and suggest buying a new panel, which is what I ended up having to do in order achieve a successful repair. He at least refunded the additional charge for the amateur work they attempted to fix the poorly finished edges. I'll gladly exchange that refund for an apology. I'll let karma handle this one, peace!

Even though it was close to 5PM, they had a wonderful attitude , gave me a quick estimate, and honest pricing, I highly recommend!

He was always available through calls and texts, and even sent me progress pictures. He is a far drive for me, but I will definitely be back to complete some other enhancements on my vehicle! I had shopped around and decided to go with him not only because he quoted me around $1000 less than other places, but also because he is known for his flawless paint matching and quality of work. When I went to pick up my vehicle, he mentioned that I can bring it back after 2 months or so and he would help me buff it out since the clear coat can start coming off since it needs to cure. So, I brought it back and he completely buffed out both panels he had worked on.

I reached out to a couple of other businesses to have this done, and their prices were much higher, and I had no prior experience with them therefore, I decided to go with the company that I have had previous experience. Initially, I was going to leave my car so that he could do both wheels the same day and pick up my car tomorrow but I think I'll have him do both and per our conversation he should have them ready tomorrow. Man who is this guy with the blow torch and rubber mallet that can fix my bumper on a Sunday?!…read more Bobby from A1 Autobody that's who. Was visiting Houston from out of town and a screw had popped off on my bumper and it was flapping in the wind. I had to drive 150 miles back home on a Sunday so I could make work Monday morning. I called some "body shops" but everybody was closed. I found 2 guys A1 Autobody and this other guy. The other guy wanted me to go to Home Depot and bring him something - while A1 was like I can most likely fix it given the pictures. I was a little reluctant to spend money from somebody on Yelp and not an official body shop. But, I wasn't in a position to really wait and shop around. I didn't know what to expect but when I got to the location this guy was prepared and I could quickly tell he knew his stuff. I felt very comfortable having him work on my car and feel like I got lucky to find him. I have driven 200 miles since, and my car looks great - panels are secure. With the remaining time he offered to fix some dings and gave me the rundown of what could be a quick-fix vs. time-intensive. Bobby has a lot of experience with body work. This is like directly dealing with the guy that will touch your car rather then go to shop, schedule an appointment, and wait around. Overall, very happy and would recommend again.
