Let me add this review after reading everybody's review of Dr. Marc Colman. I thought for many years that I was the problem that I probably didn't ask the question correctly because I am not a doctor. I was left with a sour taste for more than 20+ years of my life and Yes I am alive. Like many doctors they have their own specialty where they are great at it. I will not take that away from doctor Colman. There is a big issue here and I agree with everyone that wrote their bad experience with Dr. Colman because it is True, I experienced his rudeness and cold blooded heart so they are 100% right. It is not a good feeling to be treated with no manners, rudeness, coldness voice and disrespectfulness . No, it is totally unacceptable for a professional Dr. to treat their patients that way. Doctors are supposed to help, to be compassionate, to make us understand if we are ignorants and treat us with respect! I sympathize with everybody that had the bad experience with Dr. Marc Colman but you are not the only one as you can read. He is a surgeon that wants to go straight to business and don't waste his time, for what I read and I experienced my self . A quick story, I had one child at that time when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer so obviously questions happened and brutally it was answered just by asking the pros and cons " You will Never have kids anymore " with coldness in his voice. How brutal, I felt like someone stubbed me in the heart. With time I proved him wrong I had another child without a thyroid!! That was my Miracle baby and Dr. Colman is just a man and he needs to be careful how he treats his patients. I won't recommend him because one it is too late for him to change the way he issecond I don't want a person to be treated like we are some kind of meat and that is it. People have feelings and we shouldn't put up with that. I feel sorry for his office team to deal with someone like him. read more

For a first impression, the office is small with 11 seats. It would be adequate for a one doctor practice, but when there is a delay like today, all the seats were full plus a couple of people were trying to find an out of the way place to stand. The receptionist is nice and she did inform us that the doctor would be a little behind schedule due to a post-op patient requiring a little extra care. The music seems like it is a looped track that I got to hear repeat. Maybe not, but it seemed like it! It's like jazzy easy listening elevator music. I've been here for an hour and a half and hubby was escorted in about 10 minutes ago. He had a hearing test and got back in the waiting area waiting for the doctor consult next. He saw the doctor for about a minute or two and was on his way. Dr. Coleman is a personable doctor, from the brief visit. read more

After reading these reviews I understand why his staff is rude! I didn't even get to see the doctor, barely made an appointment. The reception is rude and condescending. I call back with info regarding the insurance which she should've done since I apparently got the wrong answer. After her many huffs and puffs I told her to cancel the appoint and gave her a few choice words. read more

Doctors at this office should be aware of what their staff employees can do to sabotage their business. Talking to potential customers can be tricky but to absolutely ignore customers by putting them on hold for over 5 minutes is not acceptable. Customers even called back but is blocked . There was no rudeness whatsoever on customers' end. read more

Wish I would have read the reviews prior to seeing him. My appointment was on a Friday afternoon and nobody came in after me, so maybe I was his last appointment and he didn't want to be there, but really, that's not my fault. He was basically rude and a jerk. He could have cared less what I had to say, ran a test and told me to call back for the result. I asked him what if the test was negative, what then, and he shrugged his shoulders at me. I went home and looked up his diagnosis on Dr. Google and saw that it had literally hundreds of causes from allergies to cancer. Amazing that I got far more information off the internet than Dr. Colman was willing to explore. I took time off work unpaid to waste my time? He did nothing for me. I had to take more time off work to visit another doctor who diagnosed and treated the problem. read more

If you want a nice, cheerful doctor that makes you feel smily and happy, find someone else. If you want the most experienced and capable ENT in the South Bay, go to Dr. Colman. He diagnosed my Stage IV Throat Cancer, and most importantly was able to locate its starting point which enabled the treatment program that SAVED MY LIFE. He then managed my entire recovery, and here I am today, alive and kicking. I moved away from the area and have different insurance now, but I am happy to fight LA traffic and pay cash to get his opinion whenever I have any throat or sinus issue, because he is just that good. read more

Sorry I didn't visit Yelp before seeing this doctor. I was referred to Dr. Colman and I couldn't be more disappointed. He is brash, crude, and acts offended when you dare to ask clarifying questions. He was quick to diagnose after asking me only questions and wanted to shove a Perscription in my face. Then he handed me my file and told me to take it to the front desk then left the room. I would not recommend this doctor and I'm telling my primary physician to take more care in who he refers next time. read more

I agree with Glan Cam, This Dr has no manners and did not diagnose me correctly. I went in for ear and throat problems and he was treating me for GERD. I don't have GERD. He sent me away for three months to take zantac, while I continued to have ear pain. I sent him his check and found a great doctor, who helped me. The receptionists were nice. I did every test and spent a lot of money. I gave him a chance for two months, lots of bills, no thanks. read more

Dr Colman is a good doctor. His office has 11 seats a nice little office. He gave my daughter a doughnut because he asked if she was hungry and was kind enough to give us a doughnut. Really nice but has a rough voice. He has brightened up a lot since I've been there. Very nice and good doctor! read more

Rude and condescending doctor. I agree 100% with what others have stated about his rude behavior. However, I feel the need to add - "incompetent" as well and below is the reason why. New born baby had tongue-tied issue and our pediatrician made some recommendations. Dr. Coleman was on the list of doctors and since he is an experienced doctor and in the same building as baby's pediatrician, we figured it was best to pay him a visit. When we saw the doctor, he said that the tongue-tied issue was easy to resolve and he can make the cut. So my wife and I decided to go ahead with the procedure and made the appointment for the surgery. When we went in for the cut, he was rude and condescending. He would not allow my wife to go into the room for the cut, because he said that women can not handle such things, they faint at the sight of blood, and so on. He also said that my wife would be a distraction because she would not be able to handle seeing the baby in pain. My main concern was making sure the cut was done right, so I told my wife just to wait outside. The nurse, doctor, and myself should be enough. So after the cut, the doctor told us to check back in a week. That night, my wife noticed that the baby's tongue-tied issue was still there. It seem that the cut was not done correctly. We had an appointment with the baby's pediatrician the next day (day after cut), so when we went in, we asked the pediatrician to take a look. She agreed and told us that she believes Coleman had made the wrong cut. She told us that we should immediately go see the doctor to get this resolved or we can see another doctor to get it cut correctly. We decided to pay Dr Coleman a visit immediately after seeing the pediatrician, since we were in the same building. At first, he was still too full of himself and did not believe that such a 'mistake' can happen. When he finally had the chance to examine the baby, he was quiet and finally said that there was a "defect". He said it like the defect was natural or got there by itself. (Yes Doctor, a defective cut that you MADE!). So he said that he can fix it right there. So we went in for a second try. This time my wife insisted on being in the room to make sure he didn't make another "defect". He wasn't too happy about it. I was holding the baby's body, while a nurse was holding the baby's head and the doctor kept struggling to cut correctly. He was struggling for awhile and finally he told my wife to hold the baby's lower lips/mouth. Otherwise I assumed he would probably make another wrong cut. Not giving a lot of confidence there?! (The irony - he thought wife was going to 'faint' and didn't want her in the room, yet she ended up helping.) He may have been a great doctor many decades ago but my recent experiences with him tells me otherwise. There's plenty of good doctors in the South Bay - there's no need to visit Coleman for the rude treatments and getting a defect in the process! Stay away! read more

I usually don't write reviews but after my visit with this doctor I feel I need to warn everyone about this man. He was not a caring doctor, I feel he was more concerned with just doing his job and collecting his money. After quickly asking me why I was there he started poking in my ears and nose without warning. It took me by surprise how he just put instruments inside without even explaining to me what he was doing. He then stuck a stick in my mouth, so I stuck out my tongue, like you are usually asked to do. He got very frustrated with me and sharply told me NOT to stick out my tongue. How was I supposed to know what he wanted me to do? Next thing I knew, he quickly mentioned something about spraying my nose and sticking a tube down it. He then sprayed in my nose and I flinched backwards. That made him angry. But, it was my first instinct. He rolled his eyes and was upset. I told him I was sorry but he wasn't ok with that. He then said he was going to spray a numbing cream in my nose. At that point I asked him to explain what he was doing (I wanted to know why he was going to do this, how long would I be numb for, etc.). He then looked at me angrily and said "I already told you what I was going to do! Spray your nose and stick a tube down it". He was so rude to me. I got up and told him not to talk to me like that, I was leaving and I would never be back. BTW, all of this happened within 2 minutes. That is a very short amount of time for a first visit and all of that poking around. It would have been nice of him to say, I am not sure what it could be but we are going to do an exam which consists of - and - and -. My goal is to -------. His bedside manner was horrible!!!! Totally agree with glamcam and ruben. Absolutely NO beside manner. He got upset when I asked him simple questions and he had a very condescending attitude, like "Are you the doctor or am I!" He ripped a tube out of my throat without warning after surgery and seemed to get pleasure from it. When I told my regular Dr. about him, she said he was a good surgeon, but was used to dealing with patients when they were under anesthesia which is probably why he was so rude! No excuses. The surgery that he told me was necessary made my condition worse. Stay away from this hack sheister! read more

Dr. Colman is known within the medical community as the best ENT in the south bay. Among his many patients are the families of the regions finest physicians. I am a biomedical engineer and my husband is a medical director for Anthem-Blue Cross. We know the good doctors and we know their outcomes. Dr. Colman has operated on me twice for sinus problems, and also on my daughter. He has a high surgical success rate with few complications. He is simply an amazing surgeon AND he will not take you to the OR unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary. Some patients criticize him because he is so serious. Personally, I prefer serious when it comes to my health. Dr. Colman has been taking care of us for more than a decade. We highly recommend him. read more

This is not the guy to go to if you are looking for a doc to say you have a deviated septum so you can get rhinoplasty covered by insurance. This is the guy to go to when you have a problem that needs fixing by THE GUY. This is the guy. He gave me my life back after suffering from sinus migraines nearly every day. This is an overdue review. When my son was 15 months old he need ear tubes. He was referred to Dr. Coleman. His staff was very nice and he was too. He is not super warm and fuzzy, but he is honest and a good surgeon. My son liked him and that was most important. He reminds me of a grizzly bear, but under it all is a teddy bear. read more

I totally disagree with the people that are giving Dr. Colman a bad review. He is the best Head and Neck surgeon in our area. I have sent him several family members, friends, and patients with problems that other surgeons have not been able to diagnose. He actually has saved many of their lives. Dr Colman was amazing!!!! He made me feel comfortable. I found out that had thyroid cancer in nov 2017 and he removed my thyroid in January 2018. I was afraid but he made me feel really confident. I totally agree with all the other reviews regarding Dr. Colman's rude behavior and complete lack of bedside manner. I visited this doctor three times because of severe throat pain, laryngitis, difficulty with swallowing, and constant cough. He told me that I had reflux and recommended Zantac and which I took and did help my symptoms. However I had a persistent cough all day even after using the medication. I spoke to my children who are doctors and they told me that maybe I needed a chest-xray and a throat culture since those symptoms were not getting better. When I was a child growing up in a foreign country I had pneumonia many times. My kids were worried that I might have a lung infection. When I mentioned this to Dr. Colman, he became OUTRAGED AND INDIGNANT. He threw his pen and said to me "are your children doctors?' I almost started to cry since I was so startled by his violent reaction. I said "yes" and then he said that he could no longer take care of me since I don't trust him. I told him that I am a grandmother and if I am going to see my small grandchildren and I wanted to be sure that I didn't have an infection that could harm either me or them. He did not apologize to me and I was so hurt that I went home crying. I have had many doctors in my life and none have been this mean. I told my children and they told me that this was completely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. I am writing this review so that people know what kind of person Dr. Colman is. Lastly I would like to say that Dr. Colman's front desk staff were very polite and and nice to me and I only hope that he doesn't treat them this way. read more

I was referred to Dr. Colman, but after reading his reviews on Yelp I was almost hesitant to go. But I did see Dr. Colman and found him to be very pleasant and knowledgeable He explained things thoroughly before he started his procedure giving me a heads up of what to expect. He was kind and gentle in how he spoke to me. He was nothing like what I read in the other Yelp reviews. I felt the other reviews wasn't talking about Dr. C. He knows his stuff and has great bedside manners. I will be back to see him. read more

Dr. Coleman has an extremely gruff bedside manner.... when I called him with some questions regarding my upcoming surgery he acted annoyed and put off and made me feel stupid. He was incredibly rude and dismissive. read more
