The doctor is incompetent. I came almost two years ago with complications in my ear and he got me to take MRI. He told me I had a tumor but nothing to worry about. As an ENT, he should have atleast sent me to specialist or told me this can be problematic if it keeps growing but he didn't do that. Instead, he tried to pitch me cochlear implant for my ear which he has to perform via a procedure. I realize now that the tumor or mass in the middle/inner ear can be very problematic and specialist needs to be consulted asap as it can grow. Also a biopsy should be taken as well. This is just a heads up to anyone in future with similar issue. read more

Dr. Luk was great. I have high expectations and am very detailed, basically I need to know everything and then some so I can make an informed decision about my health. A deal breaker for me is when a doctor is demeaning or won't explain anything other than to say "don't worry". Dr. Luk didn't do that, he heard me out and addressed my concerns. His explanations are thorough and gives you your options and time to think of them. I had a tonsillectomy and he did not sugar coat what my recovery would be like which I whole heartedly appreciated because it helped me and my husband prepare for my recovery. First visit to Dr. Luk. Very pleasant and efficient front desk. Went into the treatment room on time as scheduled. Dr. Luk was extremely professional and personable. Both my wife and I spent time with him. I have an unusual problem stemming from a former surgery and radiation treatment. Dr. Luk honed in on the issue quickly and diagnosed a treatment regimen which is different from other doctors' much less explicit suggestions. So far, it seems to be helping significantly. Usually I don't write reviews.... I have seen Dr. Luk for several years on occasional for sinus related issues. After loosing my insurance I made the mistake of going to a urgent care clinic thinking it would be less expensive as a cash patient) I had what I thought was a simple sinus infection. I was given incorrect meds and my symptoms worsened spreading to my lungs. I suffered for weeks. I called Dr. Luks office and his rates for cash patients was very fair. His staff is so friendly and squeezed me in right away. Dr Luk took his time to give me a through exam of my sinus and lungs and prescribed a clever treatment plan. After 1 dosage I am feeling better than I have in months. I'm sure with his ongoing assistance I will be thriving in no time. Dr. Luk is a consistently pleasant physician. One of the Best in his field. He's knowledgeable and cares about the well being of his patients. Well, I don't really understand the one bad review for Doctor Luk. Yes, he does interrupt at times, but to ask clarifying questions. I guess I'm not super sensitive and appreciate him asking clarifying questions. He knows what he's doing and has been doing this for 30+ years. He knows what he is doing and makes the diagnosis very quickly. He's always been extremely respectful and friendly with me. Most of his clientele has been older when I have been there which might explain for the lack of reviews if they aren't as tech-savvy. I highly recommend Dr. Luk's office and would recommend him as a surgeon. I've been able to breathe much better after my surgery. read more

My regular ENT doctor was out on medical leave, so I had the opportunity to be seen by Dr. Luk for my ears. He is so pleasant and has a great bed-side manner. Horrified by this doctor. I was looking for an ENT specialist as I was experiencing vertigo for the first time in my life and wanted a professional diagnosis and help treating it. Let me say, it was my first time here and it will be my last time here. During my medical history intake I noticed he asked a lot of personal questions. It made me uncomfortable because I didn't think it was relevant to the issue at hand, nor my medical history. I thought this was maybe his way to try to take a personal approach at getting to know his patients, but I realized I shouldn't have tried to justify it for him. I should've known it was a red flag for what was to come.. On to the physical exam--he scolded me for not doing one of the balance assessments "quickly" enough. He kind of lost his temper like an old school teacher. I thought this was unprofessional and very odd. When it came time to assess me further, using what I assumed was the Epley maneuver, he asked me to step in to another room with an exam table. I didn't think anything out of the ordinary until... I was getting situated on the exam table, he asked me to scoot all the way to the end of the exam table (to prepare to lay down). As I was moving backward, he patted my butt. I was completely in shock and didn't know what to do or how to properly react. I rushed through the rest of the appointment in shock and couldn't say much. I was speechless. I felt extremely taken advantage of, given that he is much much older than me. Not to sound superficial, but most of his clientele is elderly, so I can't help but think he thought this was a good opportunity to corner a young woman. Ladies--please be careful and do not come here. Especially not alone. Find another doctor or you will end up having a #metoo moment like I did. I am only writing this to try to prevent someone else from going through this sexual harassment. read more

I've been having reoccurring tonsil infections. When I went to urgent care doctor, they told me it's tonsil stone. They would then prescribe me antibiotics and call it a day. This last time, the antibiotics didn't work well at all. Not only it wasn't getting better but it felt my tonsil/throat was more swollen and had pus around it. It was so painful that I feel ibuprofen couldn't even do much to ease the pain. I've decided to look for ENT specialist. Dr. Luk's office doesn't overbook patient so I was able to be seen right away at my appointment time. He took a look and told me it's not tonsil stone. It's acute pharyngitis and acute tonsillitis. Dr. Luk then gave me a different type of medication. I felt way better after the 2nd dosage of the medication. I'm so glad I came to see him. read more

Waited over 10 years to get a tonsillectomy because I was so scared of the recovery horror stories from friends, co-workers, etc. Last week I finally decided to get the procedure done and I cannot reiterate how happy I am with the surgery itself & the healing post-op. I broke my nose and had to get a closed reduction to move some parts back into place. Dr Luk's staff was fantastic from the moment I called, dealing with my insurance and getting me an appointment. I am around 7 years late in writing this review. I had thyroid cancer and Dr. Luk told me after my first surgery that I couldn't possibly have thyroid cancer because I didn't have a thyroid. This is absolutely true. He told this to my me, my husband, the nurse's station at the hospital, my Rabbi, and my endocrinologist. I had a second, successful surgery, with an endocrine surgeon in LA. I wish I would have asked L. Luk how many thyroid surgeries he'd done, etc. If I had, I may have been able to ascertain that this type of surgery wasn't his forte. On the other hand, it would have been far more professional to not take my case knowing that his experience in this area was extremely low compared to other ENT issues. I suffered greatly at his hand and would not recommend him to anyone for anything. read more

I went to Dr. Luk to address a breathing issue. I ended up needing a Septoplasty and Turbinectomy. Dr. Luk was very good in diagnosing and also with the surgery. It was the easiest process I have gone through in the medical community. Dr. Luk was very friendly and prices were more than fair. The recovery of the surgery was great and Dr. Luk did a magnificent job. I am a triathlete and marathoner and this surgery changed my life. For the first time ever I can breathe through my nose and allergies are pretty much nonexistent now. I could not be more pleased with what I got for my money and how well it went! read more

I didn't have a great experience with this doctor. He didn't listen as I spoke about my history, and constantly interrupted me. When he was performing an ear exam I bean to grow uncomfortable to the point of physically shaking and he either didn't notice or didn't care and continued with the exam. This was just my experience, and he is probably very good at what he does. read more

I was looking for a doctor to get the wax out of my ear. I read dr. Lesley reviews and there was some warning signs from his reviews. But since he was close to my house and his schedule was availble (I see why now), i gave him the benefit of the doubt. I went to the office and sure enough, he spent less than 3 minutes taking my history, spent under 5 min cleaning my ear. When I had called they gave me a price range for office visit between $120-220, plus $65 to clean my ear. They charged me the maximum amount for office visit which I don't understand why. He didn't even take my blood pressure or weigh me or anything. I don't understand why they were charging me for maximum of office visit. When I asked why, they had no explanation. When I asked what does the minimum office visit consists of, they couldn't answer. The doctor wouldn't even want to talk to me. I have no insurance and i paid a whole sum of money $285 for eight minutes of office visit. The next day my hearing aid place I go to put the camera to my ear and said my ear is STILL impacted. I went right back to Dr. Luk and asked to complete cleaning my ear. But he said I had to pay AGAIN! I said it's just a day later and my ear is not fully clean because you didn't clean it thoroughly. But his receptionist kept telling me I had to pay again. WHAT A BUSINESSMAN! and not a good doctor when he can't even determine if a simple ear wax removal is performed properly. Shame on this office! Charging $285 for an 8 minute visit and still asking for more! DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESSMAN IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CARING DOCTOR. Just went to a different doctor and he flushed my ears and I took a picture of the residual things that was still in my ear. I wish I could post the picture here. And he only charged me $100. My son had a surgery for putting ear tubes done by Dr. Luk. He seems to be very professional and know what he was doing. I agree to other reviewers that he is not that personable but he seems to be very professional and articulate. We have been using this doctor for almost five years. He is not friendly but he is polite. I have not had any problems with secretaries and staff of this office. But even though we have an appointment, it seems that we have to wait for a little longer than other medical offices we go. I would recommend this doctor to friends who have ear problems. read more

This provider made my two small children wait over an hour while they 'decided' not to take our insurance, Aetna.. His front office staff is beyond unprofessional. But more alarming is he wanted me to pay BEFORE I even had services, in full, with no insurance billing. They said it is their policy, if any insurance has s deductible to collect FULL fee upfront before going in to see the Dr. Really? At least at Dentists you pay after the procedure. Sorry, but how do you pay for services that have not occurred? that is a provider that has had unsatisfied clients most likely. Such as terrible experience. Don't waste your time or your children's with this office, there are other more caring Dr's and nicer staff. I am scared of how they will treat patients under the new health care reform. read more

Dr Luk has been extremely professional, friendly, efficient since the beginning and very accommodating as well! After a disatrouus attempt to cure my allergies with another doctor (which nearly clogged my respiratory system) I decided to recourse to an ENT doctor. Dr Luk did a small procedure on my Eustachian tube right at his practice which impressed me for his sharpness and precision in quickly addressing a delicate procedure (involving a minor cut inside the ear) which solved my problem. Down the road I gained courage to engage into another procedure which was necessary to correct my nose breathing problems and severe allergies: a turbinate reduction surgery (aka "RotoRooter"). It took me one year to decide for the surgery not because of Dr Luk but my fear of surgeries. Dr Luk has put up with me during this time very professionally and let me very comfortable to make my own decision while explaining carefully each question I had, never being pushy. When I was ready for the procedure Dr Luk and his staff were extremely courteous and accomodating helping me find a suitable date at the hospital and ensuring I felt comfortable and understood the entire procedure very well. The surgery itself went extremely well and I healed extraordinarily fast! I am really fortunate to have found Dr Luk and wholeheartedly recommend him to friends and family without reservations. read more
