I had a very positive experience with her and found her knowledgeable, empathetic and caring so I can't understand the negative reviews here. I had endoscopic surgery, specifically septoplasty (deviated septum correction) and turbinate reduction (for nasal polyps). All went well and as she had described in advance. I'd been so impressed with her that I commented on her clarity and empathy and she explained having had medical problems as a child that gave her perspective that guided her interactions with patients. I'm pretty pleased with my experience at this office so far. Most of my experiences with doctors in Los Angeles are very negative but this has been as positive as I could ask for. The front desk workers are actually friendly and do their jobs. This is as opposed to most places I've been where the front staff is usually too busy chatting to be useful, then act rude or insulted when you ask them a question or try to schedule an appointment. Dr. Lee-Tall was friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. Again, traits I've had a hard time coming by in South Bay doctors. She heard my complaints, endoscoped my throat, found a possible problem, prescribed some medication, and scheduled some follow up tests. That's honestly everything I could ask for in a doctor. It might seem a little sad that I'm giving a 5-star review just because people are actually doing their jobs properly, but again, I've found so few places that do and I feel it should be recognized. read more

After reading the reviews here I was wondering what I would encounter at Dr. Lee-Tall's office. Some of the reviews were so harsh and critical of this office and others were so complimentary. During my appointment, the staff was friendly and helpful as was Dr. Lee-Tall. My wait time was not excessive ~15 - 20 minutes and Dr. Lee-Tall apologized to me for my wait when she entered the room to see me. My issue did not require surgery or much other than an exam so that is all my review applies to. I would recommend this practice to friends and family. read more

If you are thinking of seeing Dr. Lee-Tall as a new patient, you should note the themes that recur in the significant number of one-star ratings she receives: that she tends to be cold, dismissive, and not terribly competent. I have seen Dr. Lee-Tall several times over the past few years, and those adjectives reflect my own experiences with her. Not terribly competent? Several years ago, when I first saw Dr. Lee-Tall, I described an aspect of my condition to her clearly. She understood what I described and she repeated it back to me, before telling me that the sequence of symptoms I was describing--basically, sudden hearing loss--did not exist. Since that time, I have learned through research and first-hand experience that sudden hearing loss is a real and widely-known syndrome. Cold and dismissive? This seems to be her normal affect. My experience today, when I went to see Dr. Lee-Tall with a potentially serious and urgent ENT problem and was basically laughed out of the office for presuming to think she would see a "walk-in," is indicative. I arrived at 1:30, the doctor was in, no other patients were present, but when Dr. Lee-Tall finally deigned to peek out into her lobby to give me 30 seconds of her time, she told me to go to urgent care. She wasn't seeing patients, and she didn't take "walk-ins" anyway. Moments after exiting the office, I re-entered to borrow the restroom key and found Dr. Lee-Tall and her staff laughing among themselves about those annoying patients who, in extremis, dared to think this doctor might spend a few minutes with them without an appointment. ("It's not like you have a life of your own," one of them said sarcastically.) What I am looking for in a doctor is a person who is caring, empathetic, competent, and knowledgeable. My experience with Dr. Lee-tall is that she is none of these. She is more a technician (and a seemingly mediocre one, at that) who happens to have a medical license than a physician who cares about the well-being of her patients. Called when I was very sick hoping for a last minute cancellation. I was referred by my GP. The woman who answered the phone said the Dr. was too busy to see me because she was "busy doing paperwork" because "she's going on a trip" but that she would call me back. Never heard back. I was seen by Dr. Tall a few years ago she was very professional and through. After being referred to her by after numerous visits to South Bay Family Medical Group. Dr.Tong basically told me nothing was wrong with me after I broke down in tears he referred me to Dr. Lee-Tall. Dr.Lee-Tall scheduled a MRI after I described my symptoms to her. I was contacted by her office to return to discuss her findings. She explained what was on my MRI. I was then referred to a Neurologist. All this after one visit compared to many trips to South Bay Sad to say my diagnosis was not what I had hoped but finally I knew what the hell was wrong with me. In my opinion Dr.Lee-Tall is the "bomb" in my book. She actually listened and took an interest. I have read and hear people can sometime go for years without being probably diagnosed with an illness but I was thanks to her. I was very pleased with Dr. Lee-Tall's evaluation of my fractured nose and re-deviated septum. She was able to tell the lifelong history of my nose by a simple examination and without looking at x-rays. She gave me a prognosis as well as options for now as well as for in the future. Very to-the-point but not blunt. In the short examination I felt that she would have good bedside manner. I would recommend Dr. Lee-Tall to anyone looking for an ENT in the South Bay area. The receptionist is super friendly and office is clean. Almost no waiting time. Doctor was efficient yet spent plenty of time to explain her approach to my Meniere's disease and answered all my questions. She prescribed a diuretic to control my condition to prevent sudden recurring hearing loss which may lead to permanently impaired hearing ability. That is a new approach to me but it makes a great deal of sense and I really like it. Many people mentioned about her talking fast. I was bit worried since English is not my first language. To me, she doesn't talk too fast and I didn't have any problems at all. read more

Excellent Doctor. Wait time is not long at all. This review is long over due. I have chronic sinus issues. Doctor Nina Lee-Tall discovered a sinus cyst that wasn't treatable with antibiotics. I needed surgery. She has excellent bedside manner, she is prompt, efficient and professional to say the least. After having the surgery, I haven't been to urgent care once. A life saver. I had ear congestion on my left side for over 3 weeks, and I went to 3 different doctors who diagnosed me with everything ranging from allergies and a bacterial infection, which led me to taking antibiotics, steroids, and every over the counter allergy and pain medication to no avail. I went to Dr. Lee-Tall's office upon a recommendation from a friend, and she got me in on time and spent much more time with me to actually do a thorough diagnosis. Turned out I had TMJ and took all that medication for nothing. Once I received that diagnosis, I was able to go to a TMJ specialist and a chiropractor and the congestion was addressed. Highly, highly recommend. It's unfortunate these days that doctors try to rush you out of the room to get to their next patient, but Dr. Lee-Tall spends the time and makes sure that there is a proper diagnosis. Not too long ago I went with this doctor to see if I can get my sinuses in check, Doctor nina ain't that knowledgable she charge my insurance over 300.00 for a 3 minute visit. PLUS she sent me a bill for 20 what the heck is wrong with this healthcare system. Overcharges are insane. So I took my nose somewhere else. They fixed me in no time. I can actually breath like never before. But it wasn't this Doc. And NO I never paid that ridiculous charge...so sue me. read more

I was able to schedule the appointment within 2 weeks of calling, and we had minimal wait time at the office. I brought my father to visit Dr. Lee-Tall for a hearing evaluation prior to a visit to the audiologist to evaluate a new hearing aid. We found Dr. Lee-Tall to be very professional, yet personally engaging. Without rushing, she was very thorough in explaining the likely causes of my father's hearing loss, and that his current hearing aid had insufficient amplification. I went to see Dr Lee -Tall for a problem I had with vertigo. I began calling ENT's and she had a cancellation for the next day I had a very little wait time which was great. She examined me and concluded that the crystals in my ear had become loose as I told her that this had happened to me before. She told me that my problem would probably go away in a few days weeks or maybe even months!!!!!! I was very very distressed as I was thinking MONTHS!!!!! No! She then mentioned that I could see a physical therapist to perform a technique called the Epley maneuver. Wish she would have just told me that from the get go. I was referred to a physical therapy location which I called as soon as I got in my car. Closed on Fridays. It was Friday!!! I called various places and found Atlantis physical therapy which was able to see me same day. Thank God Please Dr Nina if your patients have problems with loose crystals refer them immediately to see a PT. My problem was resolved IMMEDIATELY after the Epley was performed. After my GP said my tonsils were fine and brushed me off. I decided to see a professional and choose Nina Lee-Tall. Every visit she sits with you and explains everything to you in the most perfect way, she is understanding, genuine, smart and caring. I've never had a doctor like her before and I wish she could be my GP! I got my tonsils removed a month after seeing her when she decided it would be good for my health to have them removed. As tonsillectomies go, she made it such a breeze and kept my mind at ease with answering my questions and educating me in all. Hopefully she's a great surgeon, as that's where her interest is, and she has a surgeon's personality. When it became clear she didn't know how to help me and suggested a different type of doctor (that's fair although I was referred to her by another doctor after detailing my issues), instead of cutting bait she doubled down and gave me incorrect information about a sinus medication I was taking (info which I knew because I read the product's website), incorrect information about basic sinus anatomy (which can be found with any diagram), and said that sinus inflammation doesn't cause headaches (then what is all the sinus headache medicine for?!). She also said that a medication that's used topically (such as a nasal spray) can't effect the body systemically. What about dermal patches and progesterone cream? In the end, I got 2 pieces of basic, sound advice, which I already knew about, so she could have stopped there. Unfortunately, this is a doctor whose ego gets in the way so she doesn't believe patients' experiences. read more

Dr. Lee-Tall quickly understood my issue, diagnosed it right off the bat (unlike the prior ENT I just saw), and gave me the best options for treatment in her opinion. I had full confidence in her and her abilities. Although she explained everything in a very professional manner with the correct medical terminology, yet kept it very clear and concise, so even the lay person could easily understand. Horrible experience!!! She could not give me a diagnosis. She dismissed my suspicions that the problem I was having with my ear could be associate with an underlying sinus or TMJ issue. She told me the blood rushing to my head in the mornings along with the sounds in my ear upon yawning and stretching were all symptoms of age....and i'm 35. I was dumbfounded. read more

Dr Lee-Tall is wonderful. I was referred to her by my allergist when i started having a series of nosebleeds. Her manner is very pleasant and upbeat, and she immediately diagnosed the problem. Right then and there, she was able to painlessly cauterize the area inside my nose that was causing the problem. I saw her once after that for a recheck and was very impressed with her kindness and professionalism. ...Would definately go back if i needed to see an ENT specialist again And highly reccomend this doctor to anyone else read more

I visited Dr Lee-Tall for a consult regarding my severely deviated septum. She may speak fast but did not rush the examination. She performed a thorough examination and took the time to explain her recommendations. I've gone to several other ENTs and started asking technical questions about the technique and instrumentation she would use. She addressed all my questions and concerns without issues. She didn't overcharge me on the consult visit. I paid $40 which was what my insurance specify for MD visit. It was more than fair believe me. I didn't use her service due to insurance coverage issue but would gladly recommend a family member to her anytime. read more

Dr Lee-Tall is tremendous. I had a severely deviated septum that impaired my ability to breathe out of my right nostril. Not only did she correct this problem, she also shaved down my turbinates a little to ensure I would have no trouble breathing at night (as I constantly woke in middle of the night from nasal passage blockage). She is also VERY thorough in explaining what she'll do, why she'll do it, and is VERY patient in answering any and all questions.
