Pretty good cafe for coffee and a quick bite! The farmers latte had great flavor and I enjoyed that even with the sugar, it wasn't too sweet. The arepa box lunch comes with an arepa, tostones, and chimichurri sauce. The sauce was pretty good, but they give a very small amount. The tostones were crispy and delicious, and the arepa was pretty good, though I wish there was more creole flavor in the pulled chicken. The place itself is really nice to sit, do work, or chat, with a nice little outdoor area out back and comfy chairs inside too. Good spot to check out, will definitely be coming back to try their seasonal latte flavors which are always unique!
Stopped by to grab a cold brew and croissant. The cold brew is done so by a Tokyo tower which I found interesting. Great tasting brew. Very smooth and flavorful. The ham and cheese croissant was so light and flaky. Even better service. Bright and vibrant inside. Will be back while I'm in town for work.
This was the perfect little spot on a super busy football Sunday. Everywhere was packed but we walked off the beaten path a little bit, stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a shot. This was my first time having an Arepa sandwich and it was SO good. I opted for the veggie (which does not have egg btw) but the veggies and cheese paired with the Chimisauce, oh my lordddd. It's a little sloppy, but it certainly hit the spot. I also got the honey cane limeade, which was so refreshing without a ton of sweetness. The perfect drink to pair with the arepa. I'm so sad I don't have something like this by me so I'll be thinking of this spot until I come back next year!
This is a hidden treasure in North Shore! I was staying across the street at Villagio Boutique Hotel, and it came up on a Google search for breakfast. It's is a very tiny space with only a few chairs at the window counter. But if you want a quick bite and delicious coffee, this is great for takeout or delivery. I got the breakfast arepa, and it was tasty and fresh, tho it could do with some bacon or sauce for added umami or salt flavor. But it's a great option for vegetarians. The star of the show is their coffee -- I opted for a road soda, aka cold brew, and their speciality is the Farmer's cold brew (or latte). Often lattes are too milky with not enough coffee flavor, but this was pure perfection. It honestly can be your secret PSL for the Fall, especially when sprinkling a little extra cinnamon sugar on top. I loved it. Service was speedy since there's not much room to wait inside the space. This is a gem! Make sure to stop over there and treat yourself.
Wow! Colombino's Green Chimi is exactly the flavor that I didnt know I needed. I've been wanting to try this place out for a while. The Dulce de Leche Caramel Latte was excellent. The coffee beans are high quality along with the syrups and flavors. The 2 Arepas boxes ordered were the egg&cheese with chorizo added and the creole chicken with potatoes. The chorizo was more on a cut sausage link with a spicy kick. Both of them and the chimi with the plantain chips transported me out of Pittsburgh. I am already thinking of different ways to incorporate that chimi for my next visit!!

You order at the counter and can sit in the front window or the dining area in the back. Two wheelchair-accessible gender-neutral restrooms. Board games available to borrow. Verdict: 4.5 stars. -0.5 stars because our orders weren't labeled, so we had to guess which was which.

We ended up getting a great croissant and a hot green tea. We would love to go back and try some more options. We sat on the back porch under the sun and enjoyed our brunch.
So happy to stumble upon this new coffee spot. The barista mentioned they've only been open about a month, and it already feels like a great addition to the area. We tried the cayenne-spiced hot chocolate and the Tokyo drip coffee, and both were excellent. It's in a nice location and an easy walk from CCAC Allegheny, which is a bonus. The barista was bubbly, helpful, and clearly knows how to make a great drink. Definitely worth checking out. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try the food next time!
So glad I finally was in the area recently and able to try out Colombino Coffee. Situated on a quaint, tree lined section of Western Ave sits this narrow looking coffee shop. The space is beautifully decorated and extremely welcoming with lots of natural light and bright colored decor. Surprisingly, the inside has some seating available towards the back and they also have outdoor back patio seating. It was a hot afternoon, when I visited, so I opted for an iced latte. The barista suggested the Farmer's latte and it did not disappoint. Creamy, strong, flavorful, and just lightly sweet - it was exactly what I was looking for. I could immediately tell that the beans were quality. I can't wait to come back and enjoy some of the drool worthy food options.

was super excited to try this place after searching for coffee in the area. service was amazing. they were super kind and helpful as we aren't from this area. the coffee came out super fast and it was delicious. all of us in the group got something different so we got to try a bit of everything. once you walk straight back, there is a nice little seating area. i'm hoping we can stop here again on the way out!
Picture walking into a Coffee shop with beautiful warming detail, I was amazed. The barista name Bri was STUNNING and she made the Best Matcha I've ever had !!!!. She added Cold Foam and that changed the game. I highly recommend this location!!!!!!
I am so thrilled to have Colombino open on the North Side! Located in the former Adda, the space is reminiscent of the former coffee shop but with a bit of its own flair. Western Ave was in desperate need of a coffee shop again, and Colombino fulfilled that need and more! Despite the food truck that's been around for years, this was my first time trying out their coffee and arepas and I already can't wait to go back. The farmer's latte was absolutely delicious - the coffee and spices together were the perfect pick me up. I also really enjoyed the breakfast arepa! I'm not always a fan of scrambled eggs, but I would eat them a lot more if they were always this soft and tasted this good. I'm excited to go back and use my new punch card!

I visited this coffee shop three times during the World Cup because they had lunch and coffee specials -- and a wonderful community set up for trading player cards with one another. It couldn't have been a better experience and I never saw anything similar to it anywhere else in Pittsburgh. The family owned shop was very tidy and lined with items to buy such as purses and hats straight from Colombia. The service was always spot on. I will certainly return and look forward to the next time I can eat their chicken empanadas with chimichurri! read more
Nice spot honoring Colombia's traditions. You can sit overlooking the beautiful and historic Western Street (nobility lived here) or you can go into the second room where there are small tables and a couch, or you can actually go to the deck and enjoy your coffee outside. They have a printer which is interesting. Music was relatively loud and they played a lot of Rock in Spanish. I tried the beef empanada. It was the Colombian version. I didn't enjoy it. I was told that the dough has corn but I couldn't taste any corn. Arepas are also available as well as cheese bread. I'll try them next time. Very cute cafe with great food and drinks. My mango/passion fruit smoothie was delicious. The Arepas are authentic and very tasty, especially with the chimichurri. The space has a beautiful place at a marble counter to look out a huge window onto the street. The staff are helpful and enthusiastic. Great location. I loved the Spanish language music. read more

Good coffee! Small little space but it's cute, well-decorated and overlooks the street. I ordered an iced pistachio latte with almond milk. Price was quite steep, nearly $9. I thought it was really good and they nailed the pistachio flavor. It's nutty and kinda salty and has some pieces of pistachio which I loved. I got it less sweet and I'd recommend just getting it as is because mine could have been a tad sweeter. read more

Solid solid spot! The Colombian vibes were wonderful, great music, great decor, tasty and unique drinks and food to choose from. I had a great interaction with the friendly baristas and my time here was overall positive. Can't wait to be back to try many other options that Colombino offers. read more
I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago with my wife and our twins for our morning coffee. Every Sunday morning we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this morning we decided to go to Columbine Coffee. We had been to a columbine cart before but I was interested to see it as a real shop. This location is located on the North Side in the former Adda coffee location. Not much has changed from that either with an area to order your coffee, a small area with seats overlooking Western Ave and then more seating in the back. For our coffees on this morning I ordered my wife and I the farmers latte and then a real macadamia nut latte and then we also ordered an arepa columbiana. When given the option of the two coffees, my wife ended up with the real macadamia latte while I got the farmers latte. I really enjoyed all of the spices and sweetness that were in this drink and could still taste the coffee in the backend. Meanwhile my wife enjoyed her drink as well as she could really taste the macadamia nuts. The real star for our family though was the arepa as my daughter and son both loved the chorizo! Then the arepa itself was good as well, even sans most of the chorizo and my wife and I enjoyed sharing it. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our drinks and the arepa was good as well! read more

I stopped in here on a weekday to check this place out. It's a cute cafe nestled right on Western Ave in the northside. The space is larger than it appears from the outside. As soon as I stepped inside, I was warmly greeted by the two staff members working. I ordered a dirty chai spice latte and an arepa with plantains and cheese. Everything came out fresh and hot and I found a spot up front, looking out a window. For me personally, the arepa did not work. I love plantains and I love cheese, but I thought these plantains were be prepared in a more savory way. They were very sweet and for me, the combo did not work well. The chai was delicious though. There is absolutely no sweetness in the chai, so if you're used to chai lattes from Starbucks or somewhere like that, you will be in for a shock. lol overall, I had a great experience. I will stop back in and try some more of their offerings! read more

I noticed this coffee shop randomly after leaving a restaurant across the street from it. The inside is cozy and there is a section in the back suitable for working or just reading a nice book. You can buy merch from this coffee shop and they also have traditional small bites like arepas. The service from staff definitely lacked warmth but the drinks were good. I ordered a chai latte and a dirty chai hazelnut latte. I liked the regular chai latte better. read more

Service was amazing, ladies behind the counter were very helpful with questions and providing recommendations to a first timer. Tokyo drip was phenomenal as was regular espresso, smoothie was delicious and the arepas!!!! Nothing missed, and being able to enjoy the beautiful day on their lovely patio was the icing on the cake (or proverbial chimichurri sauce on the arepa...whichever). read more

Adorable neighborhood coffee shop that's offering an elevated take on some of your favorite coffee drinks. We tried the mocha and the caramel latte and both were exceptional. The drinks were exceptionally creamy and the flavor was so wonderful. Rich chocolate but without being sweet or syrupy like you find at so many other coffee shops. The mocha had a Mexican hot chocolate flair to it with subtle spices that I wouldn't expect or even normally gravitate to but once you try it you'll want nothing less! A true coffee drink, which helps support the $7-$8 price range for a latte. Aside from this, the interior is very similar to the previous coffee shop- small but with enough architectural charm and natural light that you can't help but want to pull up a chair for a moment. Staff did a great job creating these amazing drinks although no one was particularly friendly. Still, I highly recommend this place and cannot wait to go back. read more
