If you go in and tell them your name, they just disappear into the back of the store rather than giving a yes or no answer that your order is ready. There's a huge crowd outside waiting for orders placed 45+ minutes ago, while a bunch of orders are bagged and ready on the counter inside. ChowNow has no way to let you know when your order is ready, and only one person can go in at a time, so you're left rotating slowly through the door and trying to flag down the staff inside along with all the other hapless patrons. read more

I sampled there godmother sandwich with had the house cooked garlic rosemary turkey, provolone cheese, oil/vinegar, lettuce, tomato, red onions, pepperocini and artichoke hearts, on a sourdough roll. the presentation of the sandwich was not bad at all standard in look, portion wise huge in comparison to other sandwhich spots in bay area. flavor wise it did not mesh well with my taste buds sadly it was my favorite. full flavored turkey could not taste the rosemary on the turkey, oil/vinegar did add a sour taste to the sandwich, the roll was dense but it held everything together and did not break apart after one bite. maybe I just ordered the wrong sandwich, I will have to come back and try something off their menu. as for now the Godmother sandwich is off my list to try. I have been to this shopping plaza a number of times in the past but never noticed this tiny little shop. It's hard to make it there before they close (6 pm on weekdays and 5:30 pm on Sat) but today I made it a point to leave early enough to try out their sandwiches. A friend went along with me and we were totally enamored with the adorable store. After ordering, we looked through their variety of cheeses and specialty Italian foods. They bake their own bread daily and I was quite tempted to get one of the cinnamon rolls as we waited. I got the Godmother sandwich because the home-cooked Garlic Rosemary Turkey sounded like it would be good. The sandwich was HUGE, and totally worth it for $7.99. I thought the turkey was a bit dry and the sandwich overall pretty sour (because of the pepperoncinis and artichoke hearts). But the ingredients were fresh and the sourdough bread nice and crunchy. Next time I would go for a hot sandwich, such as their grilled steak or roast beef. Their special (pulled pork) also sounds good. My friend got the meatball sub ($7.99) and that was really delicious. There is really a difference when the meatballs as well as their marinara sauce are homemade. So glad I have found a good sandwich place in Pacifica! This will now be my go-to lunch place when I'm in the area and I'm excited to try more of their menu! read more

A great Italian deli is crucial to any community, and this one does the trick. All the sandwiches are so tasty, and looking at the deli case of salads, sides, and big giant pickles makes you want one of everything. My only nitpick about the sammies is that all the rolls are pretty hard/crusty. Even the French roll isn't that soft, and it gets a little tiresome and hard on the mouth after awhile. But oh well, I just pick off the crust if it starts to hurt my mouth, it's a small price to pay for a great sandwich. If you really care that much, just get the sliced sourdough. Beyond the sandwiches, do not sleep on the take home grocery items. We always keep a jar or two of the meat sauce on hand for an easy weeknight dinner. read more

We order at least once a month from Colombo's for our co-workers' bday celebrations and i always look forward to eatting these delicious sandwiches. Featured below is the cobb hobbler sandwhich which consisted of tangy, spicy mustard, turkey, lettuce, and onions. I asked for cranberry on the side so the breads are not being soaked. The tart-ness + slight hint of sweetness added the right kick to the sandwich overall. Now, getting Comlumbo's meant i have enough lunches for 2 days (yayyyy!!!) since their sandwiches are HUGE!! I always asked for the dutch crunch bread which was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Note that this particular bread is thick and on the crunchy side so eat with caution. The shop is located inside the Manor Plaza so parking is not a problem. Tips: call in to order in advance and you can potentially save 20 mins especially during that lunch rush hour. read more

The sandwich selections were good. I settled for an Italian sandwich adding hot Coppa. It's a bit pricey but the sandwich is like two meals.

I used the online app that goes through Chow Now. I ordered a sandwich and a calamari salad and was given a time to pick it up. Unfortunately they were out of the salad. I said no problem just credit me back the charge. Instead they wanted me to pick out another salad which I declined as none appealed to me. They were visibly upset that I wouldn't accept a substitute. They said they would credit me but failed to follow through. They could of easily given me a refund from the register but wouldn't. I now have to challenge the payment through my credit card. Way too much work to purchase a lunch no matter how good the sandwich may be. It was a long 1 hr. 15 min. wait on Fri.(a day before 4th of July) but it was worth it. Due to Covid, on-line ordering was the only way you could get a sandwich. There are no walk-up orders. We ordered the pastrami, Godfather, Godmother, a corned beef & roast beef sandwich. Our family was pleased with all the sandwiches which were filled with plenty of meat & the Dutch crunch was really fresh. Despite the almost $14 sandwich, it is pretty large, we ate half & ended up eating the other half for dinner. Colombo's is tucked away near Safeway with plenty of parking (but minimal signage.) Averaging $8-$10 for a sandwich, it's a great value for lunch by Bay Area standards. Their bread is freshly baked-get the Dutch Crunch-you won't regret. My veggie sandwich was piled high with colorful red peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, artichoke and avocado-all very fresh and quality produce. My boyfriend got some type of turkey panini which he enjoyed. Portions are huge and you can easily split a sandwich. Deli sides like your standard potato salad and pasta salads are also available, along with an array of Italian grocery/deli goods (dry pastas, cookies, cheeses, specialty sodas.) Not an ideal eat in place with only about 5 tables-but it seems most people take it to go. Coming at the tail end of lunch rush, it was still crowded and took about 30 minutes to get our food. We snagged a table and ate there, noticing around 2 that the line slowed down and crowds were dispersing. Overall, excellent deli, amazingly delicious food and would definitely come back. I don't even know where to start. They really dropped the ball on this one, like from a high rise! I am a Pacifica local that has lived here for 40 years and always loved a Colombos sandwich. I recently went to them to place a large order for my work that totals nearly $130. I went in on Wednesday afternoon and brought them a list that was nicely typed up, please see the picture below. The list had the persons name with everything they wanted accompanied by the date and time I wanted the order ready. I ended up pre-paying for the order and was excited to pick my order up, just like the teachers at my work who had ordered the other sandwiches. I walked in with receipt in hand and gave them my name and knew something was wrong as soon as the person said could it be under anyone else's name? I told them no because my name was listed at the top as the person to have the order as the person that took my order put it there. I even gave them the list to keep as I had a copy on my computer. They then proceeded to tell me that they did not have any of my sandwiches ready that they put it in the wrong folder. My options were to wait an hour for eight sandwiches that cost far too much (and be late for my meeting I was hosting) Or just cancel and settle for the soggy pizza I ended up eating in the long run. That was terrible! If I was time I would've had everyone on the floor come over and help make the sandwiches as fast as possible but that didn't seem like it was even on the table. And further talking to a friend at a local store they then informed me that two of their sandwiches were made wrong the day before and they ended up not really eating them. Which is sad for such an expensive sandwich. I am left wondering what is happened to such an amazing staple in the little town of pacifica and why there have been so many mistakes as of late. If I were you I would make sure you check your sandwich before you leave the store and if you are placing an order to pick up make sure you call ahead to be sure they don't forget. In hindsight I haven't even received the refund because they attempted to return it back to my card I am really hoping it comes in the next day or two so I do not have to pop in and have them reverse the transaction again. Sad to say but I think we will be getting Vietnamese sandwiches at Dinosaurs from here on out when we have anything we need to do for catering they have never forgotten our order out of the many times that we have used them. I don't know if the manager needs to talk to their team but they have lost a long time customer as well as $130 bill that had to be returned which is a loss to the store! I've always loved this place. Their sandwiches are always spot on and delicious. Today must have been an off day. It took 30 mins from ordering to getting our sandwiches. They didn't tell me it would be at least 15-20 mins. After 15 mins, I asked if they had forgotten. It took another 10 after that. On the BLT, the bacon was almost raw. I had to remake it for my daughter when I got home. I ordered another on Dutch crunch. Their Dutch crunch is weird. It's powdery on the outside. I had to remake that one as well. My sandwich was good, the Godfather. They had four people working behind the counter and one cashier. I've never seen people move more slowly in a service industry. I was told they had cut orders and online orders, and that's why it took so long. They should have someone specifically for sandwiches. If I go here again, I'll order ahead of time. read more

I have always loved the quality of the food at this delicatessen. However the last two times I visited it took 30 minutes to take an order. I went today right when they open nobody else was in the store and it still took 30 minutes to get a total of 1 pound of cold cuts. Why does it take so long? I purposely went when the doors opened and nobody else was in the store. The girl at the counter seemed very unenthusiastic about helping me. It took her a while to punch in my order and then said it would be 15 minutes. It actually was 30 minutes not sure what else was going on but I was still the only one in the store.
