    The Club Sandwich

I, Eric Cartman, a proud yelp reviewer would love to say this place passes my expectations and service beyond. The food was wonderful and amazingly cut. 10/10 I would recommend !

The last BLT I ordered - the bacon was more burnt than this photo shows

I always love to support a local, small business, and this deli is run by a lovely family that makes the best BLT sandwich I've ever had, that is, when they don't burn it. And sad to say, based on the numerous times I've been there, my sandwich (the bread or bacon or both) comes out burnt 60% of the time. The last time I ordered a sandwich, I was disappointed and disgusted to find all of the bacon badly burnt, and I had to throw the sandwich out. I'm not sure how this is acceptable, but unfortunately, I won't be returning anytime soon.

ONE OF THE BEST SANDWICHES IVE HAD. If you ever visit Pacifica this is definitely a sandwich spot to try. The owner Ray is an awesome dude who I had a great conversation with. Great service and sandwiches

Eggplant Delight Sandwich and onion rings

A no frills sandwich shop/deli. The menu is still p much the same as these pictures here from 3 years ago, even the prices posted on the board are the same as 3 years ago but beware that's not the prices that are charged. I mean clearly if the prices from the board were still the rates they were using they wouldn't be afloat but it would be less misleading to put the actual price up there. I got the eggplant delight sandwich and onion rings (see picture) which totaled to $14.

I have only ever done seated visits so maybe next time I'll check it out. Both times I've been here have been busy with my first visit being extremely busy and having a 45 minute estimated wait time but in reality probaly just lil over 20 minutes. The hostess was friendly on both occasions. Our server was great on both occasions, accomodating our indecisiveness and very quick on the water and drinks. This spot can be quiet or loud, I've experienced both but I've been here during the busiest and the more tame time of days. I don't know if the guy is the owner or not but there is a gentlemen on both visits who makes it his job to walk around and greet everyone, asking how the dish is and how we are. I really appreciated that level of interaction, very rare now adays to have someone who personalizes the experience like that. I had the Cajun Fish Sandhwhich on this visit, I tried it on my first and it was delicious. I also had the Crab Kake Sandwhich on my first visit which was also delicious. I only swapped out my sides. Fries on visit one and Rice on visit two. I will be revisiting this spot almost assuredly throughout the rest visits to halfmoon bay.

I've had the clam chowder multiple times and it's always tasty. This time it seemed a little thicker but it was still pretty good. Warm-toned interiors, leather booths, and calm lighting genuinely made this a great experience in itself But of course, the food made everything even better. Loved the complimentary bread and butter. The sauce and capers were cooked down so nicely, every ingredient was intentional and nothing was an afterthought. The lasagna was also delicious with an honestly unbeatable tomato sauce. Thanks to Alberto and the entire team, we had the best time, food, and overall experience. Even though the restaurant was incredibly busy--packed with people and with guests constantly walking in throughout the evening--Alberto never made us feel forgotten. He thoughtfully checked in on us, got everything to us in a reasonable amount of time, and was incredibly patient as I asked questions about different menu items. He even let us know that, although he was busy, we should simply flag him down if we needed anything at all. At establishments like this that have such a high volume of customers, I honestly don't expect service like this. I expect long waits and to spend half the evening trying to find my server. Not Alberto, though. He was kind, professional, helpful, and knowledgeable from beginning to end. As for the food, I had the Pilsner and Joe's Filet of Sole, my friend had the Golden Ale and Joe's Eggplant Parmigiana, and we shared the butter cake with ice cream for dessert. Everything was chef's kiss, including the bread and butter! I would absolutely come back just for the service from Alberto. Five stars, always. You can never go wrong with Original Joe's, and Alberto made an already great experience even better.

Used to serve anything that's both American and Italian, until Vanessa had made it into a family run small business restaurant which was absolutely welcoming for both locals and tourists alike since 2004. It's the only reason I come to 7 Mile House during Asian History Month that aims for Filipino fun. My specialty drink: Ube Colada (non-alcoholic). I want to try the Lambanóg, but it's few years late and I wouldn't mind since I prefer any drink that's zero proof. This creamy purple smoothie is so refreshing, I wouldn't mind getting a brain freeze. Main course? Actually, I take something out of the lunch menu, which is Beyond Burger; pickles at the top, lettuce, tomato, and cheese; old school American style with a plant based patty! I eat the fries first since they're fresh and chewy. Wish I stick around for an appetizer or a salad; but given that there's several people dining indoors while few of us outdoors, I'll have to pass. Before I walk a couple of blocks toward 7 Mile House, I noticed the gas prices for both gas stations are just as high as near my neighborhood. I'll be wondering how long will a famous family run restaurant can go an extra mile before it runs out of steam. My best bet is that we must support each other as local communities, just like how the 7 Mile House of today had kept us together for generations.

It looks random at first but at the same time, very unique. It reminds me of a dive bar for truck drivers from the outside and heading inside, it also gives you that feeling. It's a pretty small restaurant sports bar with majority of the seating being outside. I ordered their Sisig Manila Style, Sizzling Pork Adobo with rice, Lumpia Sampler, Calamari, and Ube Cheesecake for dessert. The Sisig is our favorite pick because it's fatty with that nice sizzling taste and texture. It's bold with a good flavor and pairs nicely with the runny egg. This dish is a must. The adobo was just ok. Honestly, it wasn't my type of adobo and was too watery, thin, and slightly bland. It just tasted like watered down soy sauce and light vinegar over shredded pork meat. The calamari was a big portion and went great with the garlic aioli sauce. I also didn't like the lumpia's. The lumpia was soggy and way too bland with little filling. It didn't have that authentic taste to them which was a bummer. I'd avoid this sampler. We thoroughly enjoyed their Ube cheesecake though! It was sweet, tasty, and had a nice cream cheese texture. The makapuno coconut shreds paired great with the cheesecake and made it so unique. We'd definitely order this again. Overall, I thought it was just ok. I listened to the hype and yes, it was too much. For those that aren't Filipinos or didn't grow up having authentic homemade Filipino food, you could tell the difference. It's almost as if the dishes are "Americanized" and lacks the real ingredients in the dishes. Truthfully, I wouldn't come back but hey, there's a lane for everyone and I know this place is beloved by many. That's important.
