Have gone to this car wash since I moved here 7 yrs ago. I've been to this car wash a million times. The one time there was a problem, they blamed me! Sitting in the car as normal; car in neutral, hands in my lap and foot off the break. I'm not a car wash virgin. Halfway through, my car suddenly went up and left then stopped moving. Nothing was moving. Not the brushes & definitely not me. Was going to turn my wheel to get off whatever I was on but I didn't know where my wheels were. All of the sudden the car behind me bumped into me!! Why was he moving and I wasn't!?! I saw him coming forward again and I put my car in drive to get away. That was when the alarms went off and everything shut down. The worker said "Your car is in drive. You should never put it in drive." When I explained what happened he said "Well, it's in the track now!" When he had me pull over outside, the accusations began to fly! The man in the car behind me said he never bumped me and that the dents were already there. (Brand new car). How do you not know you bumped someone? The worker told him the car jumped out of gear. I said stop lying & blaming me. The worker said he would review the tape and let me know. We know where this will go! Being a woman, It will be my fault automatically. But it doesnt dry properly on back side. Wash is also not that good on the back side. I found the left side rear mirror turned from its position but luckily nothing got damaged. Being a new resident in Michigan, I was able to get a true appreciation of seasons. Coming from temperate California, the weather here is seriously labile. I had to change my mindset in regards to car washes since it could be bright and sunny one day, then dark and stormy the next. Good thing Colonial Car Wash is nearby. I've always been impressed with their washes and great service. Like any automated car wash, it won't do an amazing job at cleaning your car. It's their attention to detail is what sets them apart. They always place a plastic protector over my rear wiper and their tunnel of wash is loaded with mirrors for you to see exactly how clean your car is getting. They also have a video monitor near the end of the wash so you can watch yourself roll out brighter and shinier than ever. They are more expensive than other establishments out there ($7 basic wash), but for me these little bonuses are worth it. I also enjoy taking time out of my day to reflect upon the sage advice posted on their front billboard. read more

The pricing here seems quite decent for what you get. It's a convenient location, right when you pop off the highway. They seem to do a thorough job, compared to other car washes I've been through. Before heading into the car wash tunnel, they had 4 people pre-spraying down our vehicle. They were alot more thorough than the place we go to that's closer to where we live. We had a ton of tree and bird "presents" all over our car, and they took a good amount of time, trying to get it off, before we even entered the automated carwash part. read more

I went to The oil change place right next-door which is named colonial oil change, I went there for the first time for an oil change and they were awesome by the way -anyway I knew I wanted to get a car wash after that and was glad that there was Colonial car wash right next-door. After my service from the oil change place Received a coupon for a free car wash right next-door since I just got an oil change that was part of their deal. I went next-door to the car wash and a young snot nose girl came out and started inspecting my car I couldn't figure out what she was doing at first. Then she come back up to my window and told me they couldn't wash my car because I had a few small rust spots on the side. I said you have got to be kidding me that is ridiculous! And I said I never had anybody tell me that before in my life and she said well I'm sorry we can't wash your car and they refused to do it. I was insulted and apparently they didn't need my business anyway if they were going to act that way!! I went back to the oil change place and told the manager over there and he said he's been getting a lot of complaints for that girl doing that all the time and her name is Izzy and I guess the company is losing a lot of business and customers are not happy!! So I want everyone to know that this car wash is very judgmental on what kind of vehicle you drive and if they choose to service your car!! As far as auto washes go, this place is top notch! The place seems to be longer than the normal and the brushes seem be newer. I noticed that the scrubbing lasted longer. My car was cleaner and drier at the end. The cost is a little high but I think it's worth the extra money. I prefer hand car washes but during the winter months auto washes are a little more convenient and economical. This place is worth another visit. read more

Best car wash in the area I received the best car wash in a long time at Colonial yesterday. They cleaned the entire car including the wheels unlike others who seem to skip the front and back of the car. The cost of $15 was the same as the others who charge extra for the dude drying the car at the end with a dirty towel. read more

I went to get the salt off of my Equinox today. I'm a regular at Colonial, usually using a coupon from my Kroger receipt. Today, I opted for their new Simoniz Hot Carnauba Wax option. Immediately after, I noticed some waxy spots on my windshield and made a mental note to not request that option again. I backed into my carport at home and noticed my hood was also covered in white spots. I ate a very quick dinner at home and then returned to Colonial to inquire about a possible problem with their wax. It was 6:59 and a car was rolling out of the carwash as I pulled in. I flagged down the attendant and sprayer inside who saw me and ignored me, so I parked the car I approached the door. The attendant stuck her head out the door to tell me they were closed. It had just turned 7:00 I told her I had arrived before 7:00; but I didn't necessarily need a wash, just to talk to someone about the wash I just purchase. I wanted to show them what happened to my car and possibly get a refund or voucher to get another wash tomorrow. She refused to look at the car, citing that they were closed and she had to go clean up. I showed her a photo and she said "Your car was properly sprayed, that did not happen here" and she began to question how long it had been since my wash. The spots look, feel, and smell like auto wax, but they wouldn't even look into it. It's a decent car wash but not sure how honest they are. The attendant took my credit card in the building and returned with the receipt for 5 washes for me to sign. The next two days there were fraudulent charges to my card. Can't be sure it was there, of course, but we rarely hand the card over when we use it. read more

Damn... I took my 5 month old car to this place... Before the wash I checked my car and it was fine and after the wash there were 3 scratches on the trunk... I am never going to visit again... This is a very clean, full featured car wash. You can get the basic wash for 4 or 5 dollars, all the way to a deluxe 15 to 20 dollar wash with all the bells and whistles. This is a drive through with no hand drying, that I saw, but there is a huge bank of air dryers that seem to do the job. My family and I have had our vehicles washed at Colonial Car Wash for many years, in fact I was just there 2 1/2 weeks ago. Yesterday I pull in to get my vehicle washed and the attendant walks out, looks at the side of my car and says "You have rust on your car, it will damage our equipment, we won't run you through" I said seriously, I was here a couple weeks ago and come here all the time, its never been an issue(mind you there is extremely minimal rust on my car!) He replied(very rudely) "I don't think so" and "No we haven't" as he such walked away. Funny, I have dash wipes they gave me with my car wash sitting in my car!! During the winter season, I come here every week to get my car washed. For $8 they do the ever-critical underbody flush and spray the car with soap before you go into the wash. Decent drive through car wash. I appreciate the small detail of putting a plastic wrap over the rear wiper to ?protect it? Got the car reasonably clean. No towel dry afterwards so definitely a fair amount of water spots on the back in particular and then scattered around the front and the side panels. Was denied business due to a small amount of rust on my car right above the tire and was instructed to back out and leave, making it so the people behind me also had to back up. I was told it was to prevent damage to the cloth used in the car wash. This is a very good car wash. Various packages available and their top one gives you a vacuum coin and wet wash cloth for your dash. They spray your car down as you enter and also put plastic on your rear wiper for protection. The best is that the drying room on the way out of heated so it drys better. read more
