During the contract preparation phase there were multiple errors, misstatements, and rewritten contracts by Denise. Mark, the supervisor intervened so we trusted them, hoped for the best, and continued through the process. We wrote them a check 10/2/25 (that was cashed 10/3/25), as full payment for our preneed selection. We were advised the "Deed" would be sent to us within 30-60 days. There was a 3-day cancellation clause that was signed during the preparation phase. After that period had subsided I started receiving a multitude of emails and phones calls advising I needed to (re)sign the cancellation clause. After comparing the new document to the prior one (signed) I realized Denise forgot to enter the effective date. So I signed it again, and sent it to her. Then I received additional emails about the same issue - blaming Adobe Acrobat Sign for not having me sign in the right place. That was finally resolved - and a moot point since the 3-day cancellation period had passed. It's now 4 months later, and I had to reach out to them to see where the Deed is since we haven't received ANY communication from them. Mark was apologetic, stated the office manager just completed it today, and they would be mailing it today. They emailed me a .pdf copy and the document is postdated to 1/31/26. I don't understand why when they have been earning interest and/or paying bills with over $7k of our money for 4 months. I would think it would be backdated to 10/2/25 or at least dated for today. Thank God we didn't need it between times. The repeated errors and lack of follow through is unacceptable. I can't blame the office staff because I had no direct dealings with them. But Denise and/or Mark should have followed through to assure a sale made through their area was successful and had been completed long before 1/22/26. The property is well tended to but they clearly need additional oversight in how to provide quality preneed customer service (from the signing of contracts to the mailing of crucial documents). Terribly disappointed. Can't recommend at this time.

A woman by the name of Mrs. Taylor told my friend via phone call that the viewing would be Thursday (today) from 12 PM to 4 PM. When we arrived at the mortuary slightly before 3 PM, we were told by Mrs. Taylor that the body has been transported to the Shiloh Baptist Church in Vacaville for the funeral services. Yes, my friend and I were highly disappointed that we couldn't say our good byes. Nobody from the mortuary notified my friend that this transportation of Mrs. Peters has occurred. This was a lack of communication on the part of the mortuary. Mrs. Taylor suggested to go on their website to leave a message of condolences to my classmate's family. Sad to say I could not find this mortuary on a website, even though I did a Google search. I did a Google search again. I found the website under another name, not C P Bannon. I stand corrected.

My family and I have been to this mortuary several times in the past to pay our respect to our departed loved ones. The service was a peaceful one. Traditional Chinese music was softly playing in the background while video slide show of my aunt and her family were displayed. Poems were read by two of my nieces and memories were shared by my cousins. One of my cousins mentioned the family lived in East Oakland on 22nd Avenue in the 60's. I told him where the home was and it was a duplex. Oh, what wonderful childhood memories from over 60 years ago, and this service was a celebration of life. As always the employees are compassionate, helpful and pleasant despite the sadness of the loss of a loved one. We loved our mother, aunt, grandmother, great aunt, sister, sister-in-law, but God loved her the best and called her home. Sunset: July 4, 2023. Rest in Peace.

My uncle passed away in San Francisco and our family is in Minneapolis. The kindness, compassion and willingness to help in any way possible made the whole process that much easier. Most of the arrangements were done by phone and email before we were able to fly out and pick up his cremains. When we arrived we were greeted with the same kindness, compassion and thoughtfulness as we had throughout the entire process. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. This time I had a bit of time to prepare as we had to make decision to end life support. I went down to make the preparations and the young woman was great. Frank was also there so I just told him how much I appreciated their service over the years. Again no pressure tactics to buy a certain kind of urn/casket etc. We were returning him to the Bay, so she helped me with the certification I needed from SFDPH which I needed to provide to the vessel we were taking out to the Bay. I thought I might have to pay a deposit and then when the body was received the rest. No, everything is paid once they received the body. When the time came, I called them. The hospital requested to see if they could pick up the body within 4 hours, but they do charge extra. So Kaiser has an offsite morgue they store and they went to pick him up the next day. Everything is spelled out price wise and extremely reasonable and they treat you with dignity and again I was very happy with their service. Please be aware it can take a couple to three week to receive the ashes, if you are going that route, because the hold up is usually at the County/States Agencies, ie Vital Records, but once that is done, it is smooth sailing.

I used Coopers for my sister's funeral services and they were absolutely amazing. My family had…read morealways used another Oakland funeral home and initially went with them. After several red flags, we decided to have my sister moved to Coopers, and I'm glad we did. They were amazing from the very start. Exceptionally professional, easy to contact, and handled us with the care all families deserve during such a difficult time. My sister was raised Baptist and had recently joined the LDS church. You do not have to be Catholic to use their services. Coopers made every accommodation necessary to honor our wishes for her. Our funeral director was in constant contact with us and encouraged and assured us every step of the way. She drove to the church and met with the Pastor to plan out logistical pieces ahead of time to ensure the services went off without a hitch. We had a procession through our neighborhood and they walked the entire way with my family, never leaving my sister's side. With them, I knew my sister was safe and well taken care of. I cannot stress how much grace, compassion, and respect Coopers extended to our family. I would recommend Coopers to anyone who wants peace of mind that their loved one will be well taken care of.
