Everything was delicious. Great service. Our wait staff was wonderful (too bad I didn't get her name). Waiting time is very long, both to get table and to get food (maybe it's because we came here Sunday's morning).

So we are fortunate to live close by, so we can come an go when it is not packed. Huge menu options, breakfast all day is a nice plus, however mimosa's are the biggest factor here. LOL My wife had the beef vegetable soup, and thank goodness she shared(thank ou), it was 5 star beef vegetable soup. She had a grilled cheese n fries and loved it. I think the fries are hand-cut. I had the ham n cheese omelette add mushrooms with fried potatoes and toast. The omelette was humongous and very tasty, a lot of mushrooms and ham. Fried potatoes are not my go to, but they were so good. (I prefer shredded taters) The service was very good and our server was very social and very prompt as well. Thank You for the great service!

Capital Pancakes house is a staple in the Williamsburg area. The service was great , they were all so friendly and we loved that when you walk in they have patches from first responders from all around the country. My husband is a first responder so he donated his badge to there wall so I'm a way a part of us will forever be a part of there story . The ambiance is a typical pancake house nothing crazy but there food was really good especially there French toasts and there eggs and let me not forget to mention there world famous coffee it was really good .

A solid diner restaurant with quality comfort food. Generally not the place to visit if you want elaborate veggie choices. The Eggs Benedict was very good and about half of my calories for the entire waking day. They give large portions. MY GRADE: B.

Solid place for breakfast. I ordered the chicken and waffles and biscuits and they were all fantastic. We visited for a birthday brunch and handle the table well. However some of the other food, ie the bacon and sausage gravy weren't fan favorites. Our server was nice and tried her best to ensure things turned out okay. It's pretty spacious and loud due to all the tables.

Great service and they were fast at giving food. The feel was happy. Clean and busy. Large portions

Garden Omelette with toast and fruit. This omelette gets 5 stars for sure. Very delicious and great portion size.

This place was fair at best. Grits were tasteless and omelette was just okay. Service was very good but would not visit again.

I couldn't believe my mouth. The tomatoes tasted so fresh and the sourdough bread was amazing. We were told all the food is locally sourced down to the bread from across the street. The kids macaroni and the kids Ao Burger was very flavorful. Boyfriend had the Ao burger and he stated it was delicious. I would highly recommend! I believe the server we had was Jazmine, she was very nice and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, the vibes and was on top of drinks and made our first experience there a great one! The menu also has so many food options, making it easy to find something for everyone. The food overall was great and very enjoyable. However, I would not recommend the brownie and chocolate sundae dessert. The brownie and cookie were cold and hard, which made the dessert disappointing. On the positive side, the carrot cake was huge and definitely worth sharing -- easily enough for 3-4 people. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal and made sure everything was taken care of. Overall, Second Street American delivers great food variety, strong service, and a family-friendly atmosphere, with just a few misses on dessert.

We have not not dined, or even spent much time at CW since the pandemic. After a hike behind Bassett Hall my wife and I enjoyed lunch. We arrived at noon and were promptly seated in an empty room. Around 20 minutes later the first floor was full. The atmosphere was cool and authentic. Nothing has changed since my previous visit. Our friendly waitress got menus and waters. I started off with an Apple Jack Old Fashioned utilizing Virginia Gentleman bourbon. We reviewed items on the menu that may have been served in the period. We started with apps. I got a salad, or "To Make a Fine Sallet". My wife crab croquettes. They pushed out first and we enjoyed. For mains. I got the pork shank, or "To Stew a Shoat in the French Way". My wife had "Chicken Hash", it was like a thick soup. The plating was beautiful and the taste matched. The old fashioned was disappointing because it was so weak. Service was decent, but not much attention. For dessert I got the bread pudding and wife chocolate tart. Both were outstanding! The bill was dropped on the table. It was around $150 w/ tip. Although pricey we had fun and felt like tourist just an hour from home. I would recommend.

There tends to be a line to get in if you don't have a reservation, but we were seated soon after we got in line around 1:45pm. Their menu is sourced from recipes from the colonial era and the staff are all dressed in the latest colonial fashion. I ordered the fish sandwich which I thought was too salty (perhaps this is period accurate) but my family really liked it. I liked the chips it was served with! I also tried the peanut soup which tasted like drinking peanut butter and I'm not sure if that's for me, but my brother loved it. I had a bit of the beef hash which was pretty tasty! I also had the chocolate tart which was very chocolatey. For a drink we had the non alcoholic orange ginger peach bowl, which served our family of 5 just fine for $16. There was entertainment during our meal, a woman came around and sang a colonial song before taking out a recorder and playing a dancing song. This was fun! Our waitress rubbed us the wrong way. She repeated our order several times to us because she was not writing it down. I was not confident we would get the right food. When we tried to add other things she made us wait since she was busy committing everything to memory. She seemed annoyed when we put in other orders for food, but she did bring us an extra peanut soup "in case" we wanted another one, since we had put in an order for a soup after we initially ordered. She did not really seem keen on serving us. The service was slow, too. At the end of the meal, she put something of ours on another table's check, then took our check back to add what she missed. There was also a bowl of soup on our check that we did not order and the card was charged twice, plus another $18 charge. Not sure what ye olde POS system they're using back there...

We weren't sure where the restaurant was located within the building so we stopped to ask where the Terrace a room was at a hostess stand where three women were working. They all stared at us like we had dropped from the sky and then one woman gestured down the hall. Except it wasn't down the hall. We were in fact at the Terrace Room hostess stand. Sort of an odd beginning. We were seated at a two top with one chair and a couch with huge pillows scattered all over that left no room to actually sit. Had to toss them to the center of the couch to squeeze in. The menus are giant in size so it's hard to lay them down on the small table. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We started off with a bourbon cocktail that included some candied ginger and was very refreshing. The server gave us each a small cube of bread and some butter. It was sort of comical how miserly they were with the bread. The menu offerings were sort of odd but we were able to watch what other tables ordered to make our selections. The entree prices are pretty hefty. We each got a Caesar Salad to start that was good. We both settled on the brisket sandwich (a July Fourth special) and one of us got the fries and the other a side of summer veggies that was squash & zucchini. The sandwich was okay but nothing grand for $21 and the veggie side caused us to both explode with laughter at how meager it was. C'mon folks, squash is dirt cheap so load it up. Absolutely ridiculous. Their wine selections were not super familiar to us and pricey but they give you an ample pour. The Inn itself is very beautiful and the night stars shimmering on the reflecting pool out front is very romantic. I'd recommend a drink at the bar and skipping the $200 dinner for two.
