I love coming to Color Me Green to get my pedicure. It's got a calm and relaxing feel and everyone there is so sweet.

Extremely unhappy with my last visit to this salon. I was in search for a healthier mani/pedi option and wanted to find a salon close to home that was non toxic. Pros: they are very accommodating and sweet. Very helpful when color matching and prompt. +2 stars because the polish lasted 3 weeks. Cons: poorly polished nails. Polish on cuticles, crooked nails, uncomfortable chairs. I have been here a total of 3 or 4 times. Never super happy with my nails but really wanted this to be my place. The straw that broke the camels back was when I took my niece for a kids mani pedi. My husband paid for my gel mani, regular pedi, and a kids mani/pedi with a flower on her nails. The total bill was $160 not including tip. I called about what we were charged for and I was told that we were charged extra for dazzle dry for my pedi and a kids mani/pedi. I wasn't aware of the add on for the quick dry. The response I got was that they're not obligated to tell the customer that there's an up charge for dazzle dry, oh and add $15 to take off the gel they put on the previous time. If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I'd rather go to a salon where I would feel was worth the buck. Came here many years ago and I loved it. Came back today because I'm trying to use more eco friendly products. Man, what a mistake. Come in and only wait for five minutes- great. They tell me it's going to take about and hour and ten minutes for a mani/pedi- no problem. This lady did a horrible job with my mani. The polish was streaky and lumpy as hell. She blamed t on the type of polish. When I called her on it, she took it off and I told her to just put a clear coat. She puts in clear coat and I told her there was fuzz from the cotton on my nails. She's like "it seems like I can't make you happy...maybe I should get you someone else". "Oh because i told you that you left big streaks on my nails? You can finish them or get someone else...i don't care who does them" She wraps that up- give it a 3/ 10. Look at the pics. She does my pedi. Much better job. She smudges one nail...then fixes it. No problem. As she is putting those foam flip flops on she smudges my big toe big time. Clearly she is annoyed. Then she gets the owner to fix it (with some attitude). I tell the owner how it's taken over two hours! She's like "next time ask for two techs". Oh so it's my fault? Whatever. So done. Give the pedí 7/10. Not coming here again. Over two and a half hours and $59 later...not happy. read more

I was especially interested in an organic salon since I was with a friend whose migraines can be triggered by the fumes in salons. I finally got to visit this fine establishment because my other green nail place is remodeling. I love this place and would totally go back. I got a gel manicure that lasted a good three weeks and a pedicure that is still going strong after almost four weeks. Very clean, quiet, relaxing. Prices are comparable and you don't feel rushed. I love this salon which is why it was so devastating today when I came with my 5 year old daughter. The woman doing her nails was so short and harsh with her. After finishing my daughter's nails, she did mine and it felt like she was taking out her frustration in my feet and was also rude to me. I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could which meant I didn't even get to let my nails dry so they're smudged. I had hoped it was just something I noticed, but the first thing my daughter said when we got in the car was "that lady was not very nice to me. I didn't like how she made me feel." That breaks my heart. So I spent over $100 for an unfinished paint job and a sad daughter. If you're going to offer a service for kids, you should expect kids to come. read more

This place is good for organic regular nail care. If you are someone who is hard on your hands then I wouldn't suggest going here for gel x. The gel x literally peeled off. This is a good spot for mother daughter mani pedi, and it's organic, but not for anything fancy. I grew to like one of the nail techs but she left town and they didn't know when she would be back so I stopped goin and continued my quest for a good nail place . Be aware of the hidden costs as they add up, especially if you want quick dry on your nails, and they tell you things like if you don't get the quick dry your nails will take 2-3 hours to dry completely, and the quick dry costs extra, extra for your hands and extra for your feet. Revising my review since I got ringworms and they thought it was funny. I received ringworms from this establishment. I had an appointment on May 20 then 4 days later I got these red dots. I thought I was having an allergic reaction to some food, so I went to the emergency room. The doctor told me that I didn't have hives, but a fungal infection (ringworms). Never in my life have I been so disgusted. When I confronted the salon and explained my summer and legs were ruined (hope I don't have toe nail fungus too) they laughed and said you can not get ringworms from a foot bath and I should go to my doctor and get educated on how ringworms are passed, because they can't get passed via a foot bath. I tried to be discrete, but they just thought my horror was amusing. I made an appointment to speak to the owner. I made it two days prior to coming. When I got there I had to wait over 30 minutes only speak to a manager who explained the owner was in Taiwan. Sure they knew that when I called the first time. I was told the owner would call me back immediately three days later nothing. Do not go here, unless you want ringworms or god knows what else. I really, really, REALLY wanted to like Color Me Green. I *love* their philosophy of eco-friendly and organic products and home-made remedies (I love the lemon-y water soak and the masque/wraps... mmmm so good) and the gals were so friendly... but... overall, I was disappointed. I received a gift certificate for a Renew Mani-Pedi ($68) as a thank you gift and booked my appointment for the next Saturday morning (excited, right?). When I got there it wasn't too busy (around 10:30) but by the time I left an hour later, every chair was full and they were turning away walk-ins. Drea did my nails and was friendly. She also gave an awesome massage... and answered all my random questions about nail care. (I love it when nail techs speak perfect English because then I can more comfortably ask their advice, etc). Sara did my pedicure - she was pretty quiet and we didn't really talk much but everything was... fine? Meticulous, definitely. The girl at the front seemed a little frazzled as the salon filled up. She did offer me a drink (so did Drea, now that I think about it) which was nice, but what I really didn't like was that toward the end of my appointment, before Sara was done with painting my toes, she asked her to STOP and MOVE ME to another chair! Whaaaa? I have NEVER had that happen to me in the middle of an appointment... ever. And I'll disclaimer: I ran a little late... like 5-10 minutes... so maybe it was my fault and she didn't want to say, but it was just strange that when I got there there were plenty of open chairs but she still sat me in mine (maybe knowing that I would need to move...)... yeah, so that was weird. CAUTION: Don't sit in the back corner chair (on the left) if you can help it--the lighting is a LOT better toward the front. Details below. Once I changed chairs to one closer to the front, I was able to see that there were bits of polish on my fingertips and toes that they had missed, so asked the front desk person to ask Drea/Sara (or anyone, for that matter) to fix it. Drea seemed okay with coming back to fix it, but I do think it wasn't 100% fixed... if anything, I was more convinced that that back seat was a bad idea. Anyway, leaving the salon I still intended to give them at least a 3 star rating, but now, less than a week later, my nails have chipped on 9 of the 10 fingers (and mind you, I don't do anything crazy with my hands like gardening or something) and 2 of my fingers are almost entirely un-polished (it chipped/flaked off in big pieces). I'm not sure if that's just how the vegan polishes are, but that was SUPER disappointing! I love getting my nails done but want them to last at leaaassttt a couple days... and they didn't. Came here because I received a gift card for a Fresh Mani and Pedi. Booking an appointment was fairly easy, came around noon on a weekday. Parking was easy too, located in a small mall. Nail technicians were very nice and friendly. Conversation didn't feel forced. Sadly, my mani chipped that night, was avoiding water contact too (washing dishes) because I wanted it to look fresh for the next day. It was a nice break between meetings today. As I was able to meet Lisa at color me green, and have my nails beautifully colored with organic gel polish. And my toes done an opposing color. This is my first time with gel nail polish, And I can't wait to see how long it lasts but I'm excited to have my nails look so wonderful right now. Lisa was a pleasure to converse with and watching her carefully place the color on my nails was like watching an artist paint a masterpiece. I would make the drive up to Torrance again just to spend more time with Lisa as she paints my nails again! The salon is not typical, as the polish is organic, there are no caustic fumes from acrylic smelling up the joint. Another reviewer had negative remarks about this, citing dirt, dust and bugs. I see her point - I can't imagine that these seats are sanitized or cleaned regularly but they were comfortable. Oh well, choose your poison. The nail polishes were all neatly organized - mostly Deborah Lippmann and an entire selection of Piggy Paints for the kids. Also, a good supply of the latest fun, celebrity magazines (US Weekly, People). Drea performed my pedicure and Ayana (sp)? worked on my daughter's mani/pedi. Both ladies were nice but not overly so. They didn't introduce themselves or set expectations for my daughter. They simply did their jobs with short commands, "put your hand here, stay still, which color for your hand"? Prices are double-triple what you'd pay at a typical Vietnamese salon. The value here are the organic, eco-friendly products and safety (I saw the tools come out of new, sterilization packages). *Cash tip only. This is a little hidden gem of a nail salon in the South Bay. Although to be fair, it is not hidden at all and located conveniently on PCH with plenty of parking in the lot out front and to the side of their building. I started going here for pedicures because they were open and operating outdoors during last summer's quarantine. I continue to return to Color Me Green, because they offer phenomenal services, a clean facility, friendly and skilled nail technicians, and a wide variety of nail colors and polishes that avoid some of the more common harmful chemicals used in most nail polish. I came here last weekend for a mani/pedi. I am pregnant and have been in search of a nail salon that uses organic five-free products. I made an appt day of and was treated right away. I was offered something to drink, I took water. I saw another girl drinking tea, not sure what else they offer. They have big comfy chairs with large pillows. They DO NOT have massage chairs. Pro, the bin you soak you feet in, is very clean. Con, No back massage. I got a fresh pedi and a gel mani. It was so great they have Bioseaweed gel which is five-free and doesn't need a UV light to dry. I LOVE IT! It's a little pricier than other salons but the whole place is very clean. They use sterilized equipment and they use fresh files and buffers. They don't use any harsh chemicals so the whole place DOES NOT smell like a nail salon. I will definitely be back every 2 weeks that I have left in this pregnancy!! read more

I have gone to Color Me Green for about three months now, and had i written my review before my last two visits I would have given them another start or two. I love that they are a green nail salon. The ambiance is amazing and the nail technician that i always make my reservations with is good. However, my last two visit have been lack luster. The prices at this place are high in my opinion, $50 for a mani/pedi. Now I don't mind paying that much, but if I'm paying $50, it better be perfect. My mani/pedis were amazing but then began going down hill. I feel that my technician was in a hurry, and for what? There is never anyone waiting and they are constantly turning people away saying saying they are booked. So I wonder why are you rushing? I found out today it was to sit in the back in text. Not cool. My last to pedis have left me wanting more. They have been rushed and the paint job has been sloppy. The receptionist on my last visit was rude and extremely mouthy and I found my having to correct her they way I correct my daughters when they begin to mouth off. Unfortunately, most people base their nail salon reviews on how friendly the nail techs are and how little/how much they speak Vietnamese while they are doing your nails. Sure, this place is friendly and nobody is speaking Vietnamese, so if that's all you want then give this place five stars and keep frequenting it!! Some of us, however, are looking for something more. For us, this place is mediocre at best. The chairs are nice, yes, and the lotion does not smell so nasty and artificial, but let's reflect on polish accuracy for a moment. If I want messy polish then I can do my nails myself and for free. When I go to a salon, however, I expect my polish to be perfect: not all over my skin, not uneven, no air bubbles, and no lint. I guess it depends on who you get, but If you get the lady I saw then you can expect her to take a long time making a total mess of your nails. My mom was in town visiting and chipped her gel nail polish. She called Color Me Green for a manicure. The receptionist offered a 6:30pm appointment, which was fine, but then offered a 4pm appointment. And then said "Well, I can take you at 3:30pm." My mom agreed. Arriving at the salon a little before 3:30pm, the receptionist greeted us at the counter. My mom gave her name and told the receptionist she needed her gel nail polish removed. The receptionist offered my mom a water and went to the back for 10-15 minutes. My mom sat with her kindle, reading. She then told my mom that they wouldn't be able to take the gel off, but that they would be able to do a manicure over top. She explained that the gel would take about 15 minutes to take off. My mom said that she would rather have the gel taken off than a manicure if it was a question of time. The receptionist left for another 10 minutes and my mom sat waiting. When she came back, she told my mom that they wouldn't be able to take the gel off because my mom didn't have the gel put on at their salon to begin with. Slightly annoyed that she wasted her time sitting for 20-25 minutes, my mom thanked her and left. About 5-10 minutes later, at 4pm, the receptionist called back and said that they "could see her now." My mother had already left and said no thank you. Looking at other reviews, it seems like it is Color Me Green's policy not to remove gel polish that they didn't originally put on. If this is their business policy, this is fine. (especially if it is stated to the customer on arrival or even better, when booking the appointment). What is super annoying is to wait almost a half an hour, only to be turned away, and then to be called back. read more

I scheduled mani/pedis for my upcoming wedding for myself, my mom, and my two sisters because of the positive reviews on yelp. Unfortunately, the whole experience turned out to be a disaster. I asked for gel manicure and pedicure and for some reason when arrived, I was informed I could not get a gel pedicure because they were either understaffed or overbooked. They were out of the color I chose for the gel manicure, and so she tried to improvise but it was nothing close to what I wanted. I let her do one nail and asked my mom's opinion, and before my mom could respond, she just snatched my hand back and continued anyway regardless of our input. The woman doing my pedicure, while friendly, accidentally dripped grape seed oil on my suede hand bag thus ruining it, and then denied it. Once we argued about it and finally she admitted to it, no one at the salon (manager or anyone) made any attempt rectify or pay to attempt to clean it. Both of my sisters were scheduled for a gel manicure but were told there was not staff or time to do it. As a result, their staff recommended we do a standard polish with a gel topcoat to prolong the life of the manicure. Within minutes of them applying the gel topcoat, the polish curled, wrinkled, and peeled off. The staff response was, "This is why we don't recommend doing a gel cure topcoat with a polish. We cannot guarantee that this will not happen because different brands may not be compatible with each other." This was in direct contradiction to their recommendation only 30 minutes prior. You can imagine our frustration and confusion. They also refused to give a discount even though both of my sisters left with destroyed nails, worse than when they came in. For whatever reason, the workers weren't that friendly to us. We wondered if it was because of our Groupons. The pedicures were mediocre at best. This was horrible! Worst mani pedi I've ever had. No attention to detail at all. My nails look like I did them myself with my feet! I had to reshape them after the manicurist went to the back and this was after I asked her to fix them. The polish was a mess. It was All over my cuticles, tips of my nails not painted and the top coat was put in so half a** that by that time I was fed up and didn't care. And yes I did say something. She never fixed anything. When I went to check out I told the receptionist and all she said was there was nothing she could do about it. I will NEVER go to this place again.
