I had the most wonderful experience here today. Mai, Anna, Ron and the crew were so genuinely friendly and my mani/pedi was divine, and much needed! Having just moved to LA from SF, I've been searching for a good place to call my regular nail salon. Dominic's really nailed it, from the overall area to the amazing service. The salon is right on Manhattan Ave, so walking past all the cute shops, cafes and beautiful beach was the perfect prequel to our salon experience. The vibe is so chill and relaxing, it's the perfect place to spend the day shopping, eating and treating yourself. My sister and I were greeted with smiling faces and friendly conversation as we entered the salon. We felt very safe and comfortable with their COVID precautions-- our temperatures were taken, there were dividers between all stations, the place was clean, hand sanitizer available, and everyone wore masks. We both received mani/pedis and thankfully they had enough staff to take us both at the same time. We were seated promptly at their massage chairs, which by the way were amazing and worked really well. It was my first time since COVID that I'd been to a nail salon, and so my nails needed a lot of TLC. I asked Mai if I should get fake tips for my two broken finger nails, and she answered honestly that it was healthier not to and to stick with the regular gel mani. This is when I knew she was a keeper and I really appreciated her not up-selling me into a full set (which I was expecting to get). She also has great taste in nail color and helped me pick the perfect hand/toe combo. I'm very happy with my nails, the gel coating is so thin and even, with so much attention to detail. So many thanks to Mai and Anna for their incredible job. My sister was very happy with hers as well, but didn't catch the names of her ladies. But it sounds like everyone there is equally awesome. Pros: Dominic Nail Spa's staff are very kind and personable. Took two walk-ins for a gel mani (friend) and acrylic fill (me). Cons: this isn't your bargain nail salon, so for pricing that is average for nail services, I expected better quality. My friend left with half-done nails (too sheer, could've had another coat; messy polish edges). For me, I was very happy with my nails until I got home and the ends started fading already! 48 hours later, one of my nails were lifting. Next day, fell off because water was seeping underneath. I never post reviews but I had an awful experience today at this salon. They were 20 minutes late for my appointment and the manicure took TWO HOURS. The result was the worst manicure I've ever had. She cut me twice and burned my cuticles with her tools. It was painful and it looks awful. They are so unevenly shaped and painted. Just terrible. With my busy schedule, I opted to try Dominic's since it's a quick walk from my work and I was able to go during my lunch break. I was immediately greeted when I arrived, and the nail technician waved me over to a spa chair. When I told her I just wanted a regular pedi, she first told me they only do spa pedis. However, when I turned to leave she told someone to grab a bucket from the back and to fill it up for my pedi. (Don't get me wrong, I don't care about the price difference, it's more for sanitary reasons. In general, If spa pedi chair filters are not cleaned after each pedicure, all of the germs, bacteria, skin cells and potential diseases from others that have been in that chair gets recirculated in the tub.) While this salon appeared clean and neat, I am not familiar with their sanitation practices. Overall, It was a very average pedi. Nothing spectacular, with minimal cleaning around the nail/nail bed. The real disappointment was the uneven nail polish coat that began to chip after 3-4 days. I also felt that it was overpriced compared to nearby salons that do a much better job. read more

I feel like I just had a spiritual experience. Dom gave me the best full of my life. I've had dozens upon dozens of manicures and this was by far the best. He was so meticulous and gentle and a GREAT conversationalist. Polish all over cuticles Barely cleaned the old polish off my nails. You can see black spots from the previous manicure under the new color. When I brought it up to the lady who did my nails, she rolled her eyes and said "don't worry it will be fine" Well, actually it's not fine it looks awful. This was my GoTo salon for a mani/pedi while living in MB. Parking: Typical MB; metered street parking, if you are lucky enough to get a spot. But in the non-summer mornings, its easy. Appointments: I never made an appointment, just would stop by and see if they could get me in. They always did a good job. Bonus, Dominic is very friendly. Even brought my daughter a few times. Plus, good polish selection. Its a little more expensive than other places around. And its CASH only, but there's several ATMs down the street. Everytime I need a proper primping to maintain my metrosexuality, I run down to the beach for Dominic's. His staff of Asian ladies and the occasional man, okay, Dominic, does me right. OK not really - but every other Saturday my girlfriend has to see Dominic first thing in the morning to have her nails done. She swears they are the best - professional, personal, clean, and detail-oriented. Prices are "very reasonable" for Manhattan Beach (translation: if you get your nails done in Monterey Park, you might be dissapointed). I also sent my mom here once when she was visiting, and she was very satisfied. She's a tough woman to please, so it must be good. They do take appointments, but be prepared to call in advance or he may turn you away. That's not a bad thing, especially if you can't stand waiting like me (even though I never get my nails done). One other thing, you can learn a lot about what's going on with people in downtown MB by coming here. I'll leave it at that. read more

Dominic's did a great job on my nails! I got a no-chip manicure on May 30th, and it's June 16th and the only issue is my nails have grown out too much! Not a single chip or peel!!! Definitely worth every penny! Also, when I walked into the salon, I was impressed at the cleanliness and the professionalism of the staff. My friend's grandma and my friend took me to this nail salon for my birthday, and I was amazed - by how much choices you had for colors, how relaxed and soothing it was to be in the chair, and knowing you're getting your tootsies polished by professionals. i rate this 5/5 for how much I was relaxed, excited, and more! I had been searching for a good place to get my toes done but I wanted to make sure they were also COVID safe. I found this location one day while doing some shopping in downtown manhattan and stumbled across this cute salon. They were all so nice and friendly, especially Anna! I waited maybe like 5 minutes just so that they could sanitize everything. The price is also very reasonable especially considering the amazing work they do. I don't get my pedicures done here because I don't think they do stones and fancy designs. My friend gets her pedis here and she totally in love. Okay so back to my manicures.., they give the best hand massages! I always feel so relaxed. They have like a zillion color options by the way! I always use Essie and it lasts. Idk what these other reviews are talking about, but they never do only one coat. The staff here is super friendly and welcoming. Don't argue with your customers!!! This was my first time here and got an immediate appt. I told the girl I liked my nails short and she told me my nails were all ready short. I started clipping them myself and then she took over. It was poorly done, filed unevenly and very fast. Another women came over to inspect her work and refilled my nails and redid the cuticles.
