Great family-run pizza spot. We stopped in for dinner on a Friday night after passing by the scene on Lonsdale Ave - we were looking for something a little more casual (and cheaper). This spot is semi-self-service - order at the counter, grab napkins, cutlery, glasses of water, and wait for pizza to be ready. We sat at one of the big tables (which felt like someone's kitchen table) and enjoyed our beers while waiting for pizza to be ready (about 20 minutes, which we were told when we ordered). We had a medium pizza (#6, pepperoni and ham) and thought it was great. Good size, I think 8 small slices. The pizza is on the thicker side, and I found it pretty salty, but the meats were good quality and I really liked the crust. We have been ordering pizza from Colosseum for over 10 years. So this review is not based on a single order, but it is a collective rating over many many meals. It should be obvious from the long-term ordering from here over the course of many years, that this would be a positive review. The service is friendly, the delivery guys are always courteous, and the pizza is great. It is not cheap pizza...but they don't use cheap ingredients. If you want standard pizza with flavourless ingredients and with a filling crust, go to Pizza Hut. This is great pizza...so pay a couple bucks more and enjoy something that is flavourful. I think we've had 2 instances in all these years where the food took more than an hour (Stanley Cup playoffs, and a power outage). A couple of times the pizza was not piping hot...but since it was delivered to my home, I fixed the problem by putting the pizza in my oven for 10 minutes. Very disappointing experience ordering delivery from this pizza joint. We were told that the pizza would take an hour which we understood, it was a busy evening. Once the pizza arrived well over an hour later it was cold. The pizza itself was supposed to be a large. It seemed more like a medium. The toppings were very scarce. The pizza tasted bland and boring. I called the store to advise that the pizza was terrible. The store manager explained that it was a busy night and we were the last on the queue for delivery. The manager told me that he would have the owner call to discuss my complaint. This never happened. Hence the yelp review. It amazes me that this place has operated since 1971, and people actually like the quality of pizza. We spent $42.00 with tip for a bland / undersized / cold pizza. This is a pretty great pizza place on the North Shore. Keep in mind the pizza IS extremely oily (not sure why) but the ingredients are fresh and good quality. I've never really noticed the oil bother me, and I usually just grab a napkin and go over the pizza once with it. The oil isn't heavy so it doesn't stick on the pizza that much. I would choose this pizza place over most in the area (freshslice etc) except for maybe Pizza Garden. It is reasonably priced (about $9 for two slices) and I think the price reflects the amount of food you get and how good the ingredients are. The owner (Peter, I believe?) is also the nicest guy. I would come to this place just to support him. read more

This is seriously the north shores best pizza you can find for delivery (love nicli antica but no delivery option). Try the fungi, the patat or the napoletana add tomato sauce. We usually ask for easy cheese, extra crispy and the results are mind blowing. Add a Caesar salad and some meatballs on the side Delivery can take a while but it's a family run business so what do you expect. read more

Couple of the best pizzas we've ever had. Two of us shared a large pizza - half Pollo Dolce (chicken, raisins, walnuts, white onion, tomatoes, and parsley), and half Patate Con Aglio (potatoes, feta, white onion, garlic, rosemary, and peppercorns). Both selections were amazing. Definitely gourmet style pizza place. Lower Lonsdale. Good selection of beers to go with their pizzas. We enjoyed a chocolate infused beer from Deep Cove breweries. read more

I was going to give this place 3 stars. The pizza is decent and they have a potato pizza, which most places don't. However, it's a bit expensive for what you're getting. Moreover, they got the order totally wrong and there was no reason for it other than he actually disagreed with my choice (more on that in a bit), or he was so distracted by chit chat that he forgot. We came in an ordered the potato pizza (I can't recall what it's actually called). We were the only ones in there and as far as I could tell, they didn't have a backup of pizza's being made as everybody in there was upfront. When I stated that I wanted NO onions whatsoever, the older guy said something along the lines of "no onions? This pizza needs onions!" I said NO onions!!! I can't stand them. To the point that even picking them off leaves the nasty onion taste on my food. They also don't sit well with my stomach. So no... NO onions! I feel that onions are a pretty common food for people to either love or hate. So this shouldn't have come as a surprise. We were in a hurry. So when we picked up the pizza and got back in the car. We opened it... and guess what.... ONIONS. Not just a few either. We had no time to go back and have them remake it. I didn't eat the pizza myself even once the onions were picked off as it's all I could taste. But nobody else that was eating the pizza liked onions either. Just seemed like a simple direction and then it seemed like he took "no" to mean "extra." read more

I want to give this place zero stars but it won't let me. I am honestly shocked at the pizza from here. It is the most lacklustre food I have ever eaten. I tried to swap the green peppers for olives but they told me they had a 'no substitution policy'. I ended up having to pay for no green onions and an extra $1.50 for olives. When the pizza came it was swimming in grease and had about 8 small slices of olives. The only way I was able to eat a $20 small pizza was to put salt and crushed red pepper flakes on it. Absolutely disgusting. Even Dominos is a much better choice for a fraction of the cost. Please learn from my mistake and don't expose yourself to this garbage. read more

I absolutely agree with Fiona and Patrick, the first 2 reviewers. On top of that, I took mine to go and the woman handed me the two slices folded over once with a sheet of wax paper. I'm glad I wasn't driving home. I walked home with grease dripping down my fingers. When I got home, I was really disappointed. Worst pizza I can recall ever having at the highest price. I got ripped off big time. What's funny is all the positive reviews are clearly made by owners and/or employees of Colosseum Pizza, even detailing all the ingredients on the pizza this "customer" enjoyed :) read more

Pizza Best in class on the north shore for many years...the recipe remains the best. Sadly the new location doesn't supply proper napkins should you decide to eat in...just cheap paper towels normally found in bathrooms....hope they'll change this. read more

Food was fine, but way over priced. For what I got I would have expected to pay half of what I did.
