The egg sandwich was crispy, buttery and just savory goodness. It's nice that they have a sandwich/savory and filling breakfast option. The iced pumpkin caramel latte was so good. Just overall everything was fresh and no weird chemically taste in abything. I'm pick and this place is 10/10. The line wasn't too bad and it was pretty busy. I think it took less than 10mins to get everything. The line moves fast and everyone in line is waiting for coffee. Pumpkin cinnamon roll=1000/10 literally the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. The cream cheese icing is so good! I need a bucket! The bread part of the roll is so soft and the perfect texture. Egg sandwich minus the bacon=good and fresh. Nice option. We had ordered our burritos next door and were waiting for our food to be ready, so we walked in to order some coffee. It's a tiny place. Tables are outside but the inside is just the ordering counter, a pickup table, and a shelf with merch. They're mostly known for their baked goods, which looked really appetizing! I got an oatmilk cortado with a pump of vanilla while my sister got a plain oatmilk cortado. Not my fave. Didn't love the espresso or the vanilla. I think the coffee is just a side addition with the baked goods as the star of the show. Staff was nice. They even come outside to bring you your order! While their coffee drinks are nothing to write home about, I'd come back and get their baked goods! read more

Got a coffee and some pastries (kouign amann and pain au chocolat). Coffee was decent. The pastries were very buttery and flakey, much yums. I bought some coffee beans, and the person at the front was very helpful when choosing which roast to buy. The parking isn't too bad, but it is all in a residential area. The turnover rate is quick; people come and go, so finding parking isn't too bad. Unfortunately, there is no sit down area. This is just a grab and go place, so you can't really study or sit down to have a nice chat with a friend here. read more

There are a few 15-30 minute spots that should be accessible Seating: No seating, just a grab and go moreover. If you walk down yonder there's an unclaimed bench (at the moment) Feels: Nothing like neighborly San Pedro. Unique house setups and busy parking, on the plus is a gorgeous view of the ocean. The spot itself is very intimate, a grab and go in the neighborhood area and proximal to other spots parks or even beach hikes. FOOD: Breakfast Sandwich (Recommend) Freakin Delicious. You get a very savory and flaky croissant, a brick scrambled egg well seasoned with hers, and a nice thick slice of bacon. Delicious and fulfilling. The hot sauce is not your bottled sauce but lowkey creamy with a subtle kick. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Friendly people with good energy. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. Awesome! A pretty cool spot. I love this local bakery in San Pedro! We first checked them out as we were in the process of buying a house in San Pedro. We've been regulars since as everything they make is just fantastic! They've even been mentioned in several food media and articles. So happy to have them as my local bakery! Their sourdough is wonderful and even though I bake my own sourdough I occasionally get loaves from them. I really like their cinnamon raisin loaf. For pastries, my recommendation is to try everything! I'm particularly a fan of their savory Danish. Their kouign-amman is also fantastic. Occasionally, they sell "fancy ricotta cake" and if you happen to come by them, don't pass them up! The coffee drinks are also wonderful but I particularly love their matcha as they use matcha from kettl which is just awesome. They have a Long Beach location that is bigger with sit down space and pizza nights but I have yet to visit. Can't wait! read more

Cute little walk-up bakery with friendly service. But I was expecting a whole lot more from the food itself. Croissant - from my understanding, patries made with the croissant dough is one of their specialties. It was overcooked - to the point that the end of my croissant was black. Pain au Chocolat - also overcooked, and hardly any chocolate. Pecan Sticky Bun - also overcooked. Not as sweet as I would have preferred or expected from a brown sugar and pecan filling. Ham & Cheese Croissant - only slightly overcooked (maybe I just caught them on a day when the oven was running hot??). All of the ham was on one side of the filling, so it didn't eat that well. Also, preference wise, I'm not so keen on the ham and cheese croissants that are covered in seeds - this one had sunflower seeds, poppy, and sesame seeds. It did have a crunchy texture, which was okay, but IMO, not necessary if the ham and cheese are done well. Kouign Amann - actually not overcooked (which is sad that I have to point this out), but I think it was missing 'something.' It wasn't as buttery rich as I was expecting. OG Cookie - I appreciate the use of Valrhona chocolate, but there was too my flaky salt. It drowned out the flavor of the chocolate. Nice cookie, but wouldn't get it again. Baguette - I do like that you get the hint of sourdough. Keep in mind that this is pretty much located in a residential neighborhood and there is very little parking. Tiny neighborhood bakery that has a pretty decent Chai Tea. This is a hidden gem you will be glad you found. The Girls working were all pleasant and it took no time to put together me tea. Prices were reasonable I'll be back for more goodies but I could not resist this Cardamom Roll and it doesn't disappoint. Slightly sweet and soft inside with a gold ten crunch outside almost taste like something from an old world and all that to enjoy with my chai. read more

My total was $40 for the latte, two chocolate croissants and 2 Turkey sandwiches (no sides just the sando) but I'll go back again so it can't be that bad! I'm a big bakery and pastries person. Like whenever I see a bakery line, I can't resist standing in it. So when I saw this line as I was picking up burritos next door, I had to try it out. I've been a couple times now and it's SO great! They always have fun seasonal items. My favorite things I've tried so far have been the cardamom bun and the everything seasoning cheese scone and the key lime pie that was a Mother's Day special. I'm very excited to continue trying more items, their various coffee options and the pizza at their Long Beach location. If you see a long line when you pull up, stick it out! It's so worth it!! They also have an online ordering system so you can skip the line if you know what you want! It's all street parking which can sometimes be tough but it's all free. No meters. And it's a residential area so walking a block or two is chill. Highly recommend this spot! read more

A 5 star bakery in Pedro at Alma and between 24/25th with all kinds of little delicious-ness and fridge of cheeses etc. A gem of a place in the Neighborhood! I can't tell you how happy I am that San Pedro has a great coffee shop / artisan pastry option for when I come home to visit from Denver. Their pastries are amazing! I was introduced to the Ham and Cheese croissant by my little sister which is a lovely breakfast, and I always must get at least one; but I tried a few of their others this past time and OMG...the pecan roll (I think) was to die for. So good, you gotta try that one. Next time I'll have to get some bread but as it was a quick weekend trip I didn't indulge this time. And regarding their coffees. Any time I see a lavender latte on the menu I don't even need to look at anything else. Quite possibly the best lavender latte I have had in a looooong long time. In fact I can only think of one comparable (not better, on the same level and that was in Santa Fe NM) I wish they were down the street from my house cuz i would legit get this every day. The lavender wasn't all subdued like some of these other places but by no means was it overwhelming.... It was absolutely perfect. And the quality of coffee they use also top notch. Really just a wonderful coffee. I drank it altogether too quickly and then was sad when it was gone. Colossus makes me very very happy. read more

I love bread and I am a fan of anyone who has the patience and skill to source quality ingredients and then allow them to ferment and proof naturally. Colossus Bread recently opened in San Pedro in a small storefront, serving only coffee, bread and pastries. My friends who live there are happy to have a quality bakery in town, and I was happy to not taste their Whole Grain Wheat and Olive Cumin and a few of their viennoiseries. My favorite was their Olive Cumin, studded with olives and with the earthy spice of cumin, this was fantastic toasted and spread with a bit of cream cheese or olive oil. They also freeze very well, wrapped and double bagged in plastic, so no worries if you can't finish the gigantic fresh loaves in one sitting. Their viennoiseries were good, but a bit too dense and too salty for my taste. Colossus is a bread bakery, and it is rare to find any bread bakery who bakes great bread and also does great pastry. I would absolutely get a pastry here to go with some coffee if I was in the area, but I would not go out of my way to come for the viennoiserie. I would however make the drive for the bread, so taste both for yourself and see what you think. I am always encouraged to find artisan bakeries in places where there are not any, so kudos to Colossus for breaking new ground in San Pedro, and I hope the gathering of people in and outside the shop when I went is a portend of more customers to come in the months to come. read more

Best bread ever. I personally love their country levain the most. With or without butter - this bread is so good. So doughy and chewy.. It's good to make grilled cheese, avocado toast, some mascarpone and honey if you want to get fancy, and left overs make for excellent croutons in the air fryer (just toss em lightly with olive oil). Other favorites are - OG cookie, olive cumin bread, kouign aman, pain du choc, and olive oil chocolate cake.. I still have yet to try a lot of their stuff. Would love to try their challah bread!!! During the coronavirus pandemic, they were open for a couple weeks and it was a godsend. We could still have their delicious bread. Before they closed, they were also supporting the community by offering pantry items and also offering CSA pick ups. I was able to get flour and yeast (srsly yeast was nowhere to be found). The owners are super conscientious and kind! Thank you for always producing superior bakes and spoiling me with good bread - now I can't eat mediocre breads. read more

I've been trying to make it to this bakery so so long and today was finally the day!! I ordered an iced vanilla latte with was perfect! The pastries we ordered were: the kougin amann (this one is perfect to pair with coffee or tea!!), plain croissant, chocolate croissant, the feta and spinach pastry (sooooo good as a savory option), and the raspberry/pistachio one (my absolute favorite for a sweet/fruity option). I have been eating Colossus pastries at some of the local coffee shops in Long Beach for a while now, starting with Black Ring Coffee. Big fan, I would always get one to eat there and one or two to go :) And I was supper excited to hear they had opened a shop, in my old neighborhood in San Pedro no less. We've been twice now and couldn't be more pleased. The pastries are even better fresh out of the kitchen. So far I've had the cinnamon roll, my only complaint was that I only got one. The pumpkin loaf is one of the best I've ever had - so moist and spicy. The brown butter fruit coffee cake wow. And not to mention great brownies, nice and lite not those big fudge bombs you get some places. It is in the middle of the Leland School neighborhood deep in Pedro. But it's worth the drive even if you don't live close. Get some pastries & coffee, drive over to the Korean Friendship Bell and enjoy the view of Catalina! Of course the downside of the location is parking, it's street only but you can always find a spot. The shop is tiny with no seating inside but they have tables out front and there is a nice park a block or so away. Since everything is made fresh daily, they do run out sometimes. I see people complain about this, but I say it's worth the risk! Oh, and the fresh bread is fantastic :) read more
