I came in with high hopes after checking the website and Google Maps -- the food looked delicious, and I heard the atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at all. I ordered while second in line behind one man. There were four people behind me. I was the only Black person in the building. As I waited, I watched every single person who came in after me get their food while I was still standing there. Eventually, I walked up to the cash register ready to ask for my money back. Only then was my order finally prepared. I've experienced this kind of passive-aggressive treatment too many times, businesses that serve people of color last, even when we're ahead in line. It's disappointing and exhausting. I'll be keeping my hard-earned money in my pocket and spending it at businesses that practice fair treatment for everyone, instead of what feels like collective protection based on complexion. There aren't as many bagel shops as there used to be because nobody wants to eat too many carbs anymore. This is one of the or if not the only bagel specialty places in town. I came in here one day because all of a sudden I had this craving for a toasted bagel with cream cheese. But when I entered the store, I remembered I purchased some bagels through the too good to go app and never picked it up. That order was like a month prior. Just for S#!ts and giggles, I asked if it was too late to redeem it. Either the owner or the manager spoke to me and explained that they usually don't do that but he was going to sido it for me this one time. I was really craving a bagel so I stopped here for a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. I found $6.40 for a bagel with flavored cream cheese to be pretty steep. The bagel itself was good quality but I think the strawberry cream cheese could use more strawberry flavor. I usually stop by after my workout between 7:15 and 7:30 a.m. Like any popular breakfast spot, it can get busy in the mornings, with a few people in line and others picking up online or phone orders. Even when there's a wait, the staff does their best to keep things moving efficiently. In all of my visits, I've always felt welcomed and treated respectfully. If you're stopping by during a busy time, a little patience goes a long way. The quality of the food, coffee, and service makes it well worth the wait. My bagel was really good, I got the lox wonder and it was very fresh. But I think their service is lacking because they forgot my order and had me waiting there for a very long time. Other people were coming in long after me and leaving with their orders. When they finally realized they had lost mine and then got my order to me, they didn't compensate me in any way, which I would've expected. They also didn't seem too apologetic about it. I have to say, this is one of my favorite local bagel shops! I appreciate that they open early in the morning, because it makes it easy to stop by and grab bagels for work. They have a great deal, where you get a few free bagels when you buy a dozen. They close at 2:00PM and I learned the hard way that you need to get in early and get the bagels you want, because they will quickly sell out. Some, they are working on replenishing in back, but others are gone for the day. Some weekends, I want to sleep in, but if I'm craving a bagel... I just go on and get up and come back and get in the bed, lol. Otherwise, they'll sell out. The blueberry is my favorite and unfortunately, it's also one of the best sellers that quickly run out. Their cream cheeses are absolutely delicious! My favorite is the honey and I usually pair that with the blueberry bagel. I've noticed the plain cream cheese comes in two sizes. I wish several of the others did, too. I'd love to get a large honey cream cheese. They have a good selection of sweet and savory bagels, as well as cream cheeses. They also make sandwiches and closed or open faced toasted bagels with a generous amount of cream cheese. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Last time I was in, I bought two dozen bagels, plus the free ones I received for getting a dozen and about 7 tubs of cream cheese. They were kind enough to send me off with plates and utensils. Running errands up in SP required us to come to Bagels Galore. We normally see this place in the afternoon but this morning was our chance to strike. It's a small place with only two tables but they have enough people behind the counter to get orders out. I was very impressed on their selection and sandwhich choices. My girlfriend and I chose our selections and I got a salt bagel for good measure. Their orange juice was so good and my salt bagel with butter was chefs kiss. Beware of the bagels! Customer service was great, that's why I'm giving it 2 stars, but there's something going on with the bagels. The bagels look, feel and taste so different from other bagels. I didn't get a chance to finish my bagel so I left it in a paper bag for three days and on the third day, it was so soft like when I bought it. It made me question what kind of ingredients are in them. I went about 30 minutes before closing and there were so many unbought bagels. The customer service is great and it was filled with multiple customers. I ordered a Matcha to go with the Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel I tried previously and it was delicious. If you don't like a lot of cream cheese definitely let the staff know and I'm sure they will fix it as they were very accommodating for my Soy Milk. I came to pick up an order at 8am and we waited for way too long to be helped. The cashier took a phone call while the line was out the door. He was talking to the person on the phone for forever! He was reading things off the menu and describing items while the line grew. When I finally got up to show my pick up order he gave me unsliced bagels. I didn't realize until after because I had to run to work because I was now late waiting in that line. There were also only 3ppl ahead of me (since there's no pick up section) when I got there, yet it took 20 minutes for me to leave with my pick up order. There's gotta be a better system implemented. Right from the get go the cashier was super friendly, explaining to us what the favorites were and making suggestions. So I come here frequently and the first couple times I got a bagel with cream cheese there was sooo much cream cheese I started asking for it "light or easy" cream cheese. The past couple time I have ordered the cream cheese with light cream cheese. It still comes with an excessive amount. It gets frustrating having to wipe off tablespoons of cream cheese. So this morning when I got here, I told them I wanted extra extra extra LIGHT cream cheese, very thin and of course it looks the same as usual , not light. Nearly $40 later, disappointment galore. Their everything bagel only has sesame and poppy-- not an "everything" bagel if it's missing salt, onion, and garlic. The jalapeño cheddar bagel isn't even spicy and it tastes like they wash their lox. Zero flavor! We also tried their pirate (horchata) and caramel iced lattes, which are both made with powders and unpleasant. $10 for drinks we tossed after one sip. Adding a comical amount of cinnamon (which is hydrophobic) adds nothing but mess. The shop is small with their prep kitchen in the front. Everything feels extremely inefficient as it took nearly 20 mins to get our order and the cashier doubles as the barista. We spotted this bagel shop on the way to Starbucks then decided to stop by after getting our coffee. It seems to be a popular place! They already ran out of a few bagel flavors, including everything bagel. They were still making more at the back, but never replenished when we got to the ordering counter. We got a pizza bagel and a cheese and onion bagel to share. We got them both toasted and asked for cream cheese for the cheese and onion one. Staff was nice. They were working as fast as they could since the line was to the door and people never stopped coming in! The bagels were good. Definitely not NY-style, so don't come here expecting that. They're pretty soft but still flavorful. The cream cheese was almost buttery in texture. Not my preference either. Wouldn't mind returning!
