Miguel R.

This place is traditional, but, in a way that is uncommon. For example, they serve the traditional goods of a bakery, cupcakes, cookies, and cakes. But they also serve pizza that is ready in the morning, I think they call it something different than Pizza, mayve tomato pie, here, I mean anything that makes it a breakfast treat. They also have Devil Dogs, that are basically Twinkies but instead of being mass produced they are made by a baker, and instead of being white, they are chocolate covered. However both Twinkie and Devil Dog are both cream filled. What this place offers is more than just the traditional, it offers the traditional with a twist that feels new yet familiar. Ok bare with me. Imagine a girl who knows her way around a closet full of clothes and uses scissors like Beethoven uses keys. She has this dress, and she uses it a lot. But when the dress gets known, too known, I mean, she snips and cuts in a such way that the familiar becomes new but not so new where you forget the source material but all around the twirls of the new dress feels fresh. That is basically the baked good selection of this place. You can get definitely get a biscotti and a chocolate chip cookie but you can also get thumbprint cookies, and muffins, and danishes that have two flavors and look like an eight (I did not take their pictures) and so much more. I never had anything that I did not like. My boss raves about the jelly donuts. When you order, they give you the goods in a box, which I believe always communicates more pleasure and elegance than when goods are given in a bag or donut box. The box is white. Again, all of this means that if you take these goods to work, or a party you will subtly say I went to a bakery that is not inside a store, and I did not go to get something basic, I took the time and spend the money to get something at a bakery. And you wont spend too much money here. And you get good value too! The person that almost helps me is named Minerva. One time, I explained to her, in Spanish, that her name is the Goddess of Wisdom in Roman Mythology. Another time I went, I tried to explain to her the same thing, but she reminded me, with accurate information, that I had already done that. I mean, this place allowed me to give someone a story to their name. I wonder how she will pass this story along, like will it ever be a handy talking point or just a story that makes her feel grand for a moment? Like I am the queen of the wise, I can handle this puzzle. She also told me that her husband is the baker. It is sweet to know that I can access a small town bakery in a small city. I mean this place is all good, I would find it hard to complain about them. Minerva even lets me in a little bit early before they open. It is a drag because not everything is ready, but they have enough, for me to be happy. And of course I understand that they can have the whole selection ready just for me. I like their biscotti. Dunk them in coffee and you will be set.

I'm giving 2 stars because I like the cookies. However, their customer service lately has seriously been lacking. I called 11/24 to place my Thanksgiving order for pickup today, 11/26 and they claimed they never received my order and they sold out of the rolls I ordered. I will not be ordering from here again, it's truly disappointing because I love to support small businesses.

Gender reveal heart cake

The gender reveal cake I ordered was decorated so cute. I will definitely be using them again!

Happy to support a local business! Came in Thursday afternoon to pick out a cake from the display case. The woman behind the counter told me what each cake flavoring was and even asked if I would like writing on the cake. I declined the writing because I thought the cake was really cute the way it was! And the cake was delicious. Light and soft sponge and the raspberry cream filling is great. Definitely coming back for future birthday cakes.

Every single cake my family has ordered from here has been excellent and everything we asked for! We get 4-5 cakes a year from this bakery. I highly recommend them. They will make whatever cake you need and can decorate it accordingly. We have used them for weddings, birthdays, baby and bridal showers and other celebrations. 10/10 below are just a few examples of the cakes they have done for us which were exactly how we described them!

Although the staff was very nice and the cake was cute, the cake was dry and stale tasting.. seems like it was maybe a day or 2 old?

I went on a sourdough quest in San Francisco a few months back and I think I found the absolute best sourdough in that city. And Colossus's version, the Country Levain, is right up there! Great crust and chew and flavor is awesome. We got a medium Country Levain and a medium Levain with Cumin and Olives....that cumin and olives....wow, so freaking good and unique. The display case alone will get you -- everything looked so good. We ended up getting the red velvet cookie and a peanut butter cookie. The peanut butter cookie was really good -- flavorful but not overpowering, and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. It had that classic soft texture with just enough chew. The red velvet cookie, on the other hand, was a bit too sweet for me personally. If you love super sweet desserts, you'll probably enjoy it, but it was a little much for my taste. Overall, still a cute stop for a quick sweet treat, especially if you're already out and about and craving dessert.

Food: I ordered the Parisian sandwich this time, which included prosciutto, brie, pesto aioli, and arugula on a baguette. Again, there was nothing fancy about the sandwich, but it was just so good ... the crusty, chewy baguette keeps me coming back. Update: As I was sitting outside enjoying my sandwich, I realized that I had previously reviewed the Little French Bakery on the wrong scale. I was comparing it to fine dining restaurants on a single food scale. But I should have been comparing it to other bakeries, cafes, and delis (e.g., Panera or Sweet Wheat). That's why I'm now giving it 5 stars. Bottom Line: Great.

I was in Lomita and was looking for a place to grab coffee and pastries. While browsing Yelp, I was…read moresurprised to find out there was a Cream Pan nearby. I've always wanted to try their Orange County location but just never got around to it, so I was excited to finally give them a try. I walked in expecting it to be self-serve like 85 Degrees Bakery, but it's actually set up more like a donut shop or Porto's, where most of the pastries are displayed in a case and you tell the staff what you'd like. They do have a refrigerated self-serve section with sandwiches and onigiri, as well as a table with loaves of bread and buns. The ordering process caught me off guard because I usually like taking my time looking through all the pastries at bakeries. Since everything was behind the counter, I felt a little rushed with people waiting behind me. They have so many options that it can be a bit overwhelming. I also had to stop myself from ordering too much since I'm trying to cut back on carbs. Here's what I ordered: Hot Dog Bun - 4/5: Tasty with a soft, fluffy bun. I just wish it had a little more of that cheesy crust on top. Ham and Cheese Croissant - 3/5: My boyfriend ordered this and thought it was just okay. It was a little small for the price. Strawberry Cream Croissant - 5/5: They're known for this, and now I understand why. The pastry was light and flaky, the strawberries were sweet, and the custard was rich without being overly sweet. Spam Roll Onigiri - 4/5: I loved the egg, and it was really flavorful. It was served a bit cold, though. I think it would taste even better if it were kept under a heat lamp. Raisin Bun - 5/5: So soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of raisins. It was also a great value--six buns for only $4.20. Hot Vanilla Latte - 4/5: Strong with just a light sweetness. It was really good, but I think it could have been a little creamier. The prices were reasonable. I spent about $26 for everything, which I thought was a great deal. Customer service was excellent. Even though there was a line behind me, the staff never made me feel rushed while I decided what I wanted. The barista was especially friendly and even checked in afterward to ask if I liked my latte. If I'm ever back in the area, I would definitely come again.
