I was in town for a wedding and feeling lazy about doing my hair. After calling a number of salons, I was fortunate to be able to get an appointment at Colour Roxx for an updo. Timing was a bit behind relative to my scheduled appointment, but my hair turned out great, and it was well worth having to rush to the event afterwards. I didn't have anything very specific in mind, aside from that I wanted all of my hair swept back away from my face. Stylist Morgan really came through with a creative braided updo, which drew a lot of compliments throughout the evening based on its uniqueness. My one criticism is of the space, which has rather unflattering, almost office-style lighting, the kind that makes you feel haggard sitting in front of the mirror and does not really do the stylists' work justice. I didn't realize just how pretty my hair looked until later when I got outside. In any case, I would highly recommend Morgan for formal styling. Aside from being talented she is also very gentle. I'm quite sensitive to having my hair pulled, and tend to dread professional styling because of it. Morgan, though, had such a light touch that I barely knew she was there. read more

Ok, first of all I was not called back until 45 minutes after my appointment time (50 minutes after I arrived). Tina, my stylist, apologized sincerely and profusely. She gave me a wonderful cut and gave me some styling tips to perk up my hair. Then she walked me up front and DIDN'T CHARGE ME! Many, many business people could take a lesson from this woman. She delivers quality service and runs an upstanding business. I will definitely be returning there. read more

I made sure that I was with somebody who has experiences with thick dark hair. And I wanted my hair quite bright and without my knowledge they bleached my hair. and put the color on. I was afraid that I needed to keep doing so, but they said it will be okay if I come back in a month. So I did, and they told me that my hair growth is faster than they thought so they need to see me every 3 weeks. I believed them until I found another salon where I was told that they could have ripped me off, because the color I chose does not need to be bleached nor need to be cared in every 3 week.. read more

I've been going to Heather at Colour Roxx for a few years now and I would never go anywhere else. I've gone in for trims, colors and completely new cuts. Heather is a great stylist because she not only takes into consideration what you ask for, but how a cut or color will look on you or if it will damage your hair. I've recently gone in for fun colored ombres and Heather has really made sure through the entire process that my hair does not get damaged and I am happy with the colors that I am getting. The whole staff is knowledgeable and welcoming, the prices are reasonable, and I always walk out of the salon feeling like I got exactly what I wanted! I started going here becaiuse a froend of mine recommended I go here for my very first balayage. I went with person recommended which was Shan. Shan is amazing, i always have something to say about salons and nail place because im a perfectionist so i avoid things so i dont make myself upset. Well Shan did not disappoint she took her time explaining to me what was going to get done, the process, the color, the cool tone vs the warm tone (still cant understand the tones). I came in as a new customer with hair that was half way down my back with a set plan: long bob with a subtle ombre. My hair is black and I wanted an ombre dyed to a caramel brown. I also wanted my hair cut to a long bob that was just above my shoulders. My appointment was with their junior stylist Amelia. I explained everything to her and she agreed with the plan; however, that is not what she did. She first cut my hair so that it was the "long bob". The cut she gave me was asymmetric and just above my shoulders. I pointed out the asymmetry to her and she informed me that she would fix it once the coloring part was done. we agreed to ombre to about 3/4 up on my hair. She then proceeded to foil ombre my black hair. She went 3/4 up on one side of my head, but went almost to my scalp on the other. When I pointed out how high she was going, rather than fixing it she just responded with "oh, yeah i see that". I didn't know it, but she was bleaching my hair during this process. I have very thick hair. While she was foiling, I could tell she had underestimated how much dye to mix and how many foils she would have to do. Half way through foiling I noticed she no longer foiled each individual piece she was dying---instead, she would just stack it on top of a previously dyed piece and go directly on there. Again, I pointed this out without any response. When she washed the dye out, I could tell she was panicking. She didn't show me, but I looked at some strands and saw how bleached she had made me. I looked like a skunk. She then hurried to get toner to fix it. AFter the horrible dye job, she started cutting and fixing the asymmetry in my hair. In the end I ended up with VERY short bob that was not even at all. To "fix the bulk" she took thinning shears to my ends in a half-hazard way and that was it. I left the salon mortified but I had already been there for 3 hours and didn't have the energy or the will-power to stay and get it fixed. I ended up spending $131 on a cut and color that I never even wanted and now I don't have the money to afford a re-dye at another salon to get it fixed, nor do I have enough hair left on my head to get a cut that works. She cut off over a foot of my hair. It was a horrible experience. read more

I moved to Delaware from Texas & was having trouble finding a great salon until now. Abbey is my stylist & she is truly awesome. Abbey is an Australian & young, but quite the perfectionist. Abby cuts my hair at Color Roxx. She is a perfectionist and very conscientious. My hair has never looked as good ever. She trims my mustache so that it is perfectly symmetrical and each hair is the same length. Abby is very sociable and easy to talk to. She makes getting a haircut a most pleasant experience. I really wanted to love this place. I made an appointment over the phone with Abbey because I had read such wonderful things here online. When I got there I was greeted by a women and looking back she never introduced herself (my fault for not asking her name). When my cut was finished and I was at the front another women was waiting in the lobby and Abbey came out and introduced herself as her stylist! At that point I asked for my stylists name, only to find out she was a junior stylist. She then hurried me out, obviously embarrassed they had been caught. I later had to go to a different salon to get the cut fixed because it was badly diagonal across the back. If you want to make an appointment here and have never been make sure to ask your stylist name/ask for a business card BEFORE getting in the chair. read more

Much like any other salon, there are going to be good and bad stylists. They're relatively friendly when you go in for your appointment. However, should any issues arise with your service, the attitude completely changes. You're a burden, an inconvenience, and an annoyance. Even the owner, while polite to the right people, is very unprofessional. I went here for years and refused to go back after a botched job on my hair left it destroyed. When I called for this appointment I was given a junior stylist, without being told, who was apparently unsure of how to get the result I wanted but continued regardless. My hair was destroyed, broken, and turned a horrible shade of orange. When I returned to see if they could fix it, I was told that I had to have the same girl be the one to fix it or pay full price to have a different stylist work on it. I was also told that the issue wasn't with the stylist, but was with the way that I communicated my desires. Ironic, since my "communication" was with a single picture of my own hair that I'd gotten done a year prior, which I shared with the stylist upon my first visit. I was given a refund after I had to make a stink, and that didn't even begin to cover the cost it took for me to get my hair fixed twice at two other salons. I spent $100 there, and required almost $500 over a 4 month period to fix it. It's still not completely repaired, and I understand mistakes happen, but the way I was treated was unforgivable (especially considering my calm demeanor when discussing the mistake). Don't support this business, take your money somewhere else that values their customers. read more

I absolutely have to RAVE about Cori with Colour Roxx. I have been fantasizing about white hair for more than a year and finally decided to pull the trigger yesterday. My aunt referred me to Cori and I booked an appointment to coincide with my holiday visit. When Cori and I first met she was very informative about the brown-to-white process and wanted to be as realistic as possible with me. The odds of going from my natural color to pure white in one day were not great and above all else she was concerned with maintaining the health of my hair. However, Cori was also open to giving it her best shot and when my hair responded really well to being bleached (no breakage, yay!) she was able to lift it to a nearly pure white! I was ecstatic! She spent over four hours carefully bleaching and toning my hair so I could have the color I wanted! Words cannot express how happy I am with my hair and how grateful I am that Cori went out of her way to make my dream a reality! Thank you so much! read more
