Really disappointed in my wax today. I waited 30 minutes past my appt but was still excited for my awaited wax. Milton was very nice but I believe unexperienced, and when I asked the front desk they were not clear if she was a new employee or not. I still have so much hair despite the fact I go every month at another EWC and never have a problem. She also left a lot of wax all over and didn't say anything until I brought it up. Her reasoning is that she didn't want to pick at my skin. Have used this place for a few years. Overall everyone is nice and the waxing rooms are very clean. The quality of your wax depends on the person you get. I had 2-3 really great waders but they eventually leave. I've tired 3 more and the quality had decreased. My biggest issue I pay for a Brazilian and never fully get everything removed. When I've noticed hair in spots I've been told it's too far on my thigh. Literally if I wore a bathing suit you'd see it. So my 2 stars is for that. After several years away, I decided to give European Wax Center's newest establishment at the Christiana Fashion Center a try. I am pleased that INDIA saved the day! She restored my faith and support in this company, single-handedly! India is a 5 STAR MVP! She was professional, welcoming, and very informative. She gave me tips, welcomed me, and made me feel so comfortable. If she leaves, I will have to follow her. After looking at her reviews and how many people feel the same as I do, certainly European Wax Center should know that they have a gem on their hands. She is by far the most professional employee that I have encountered at European Wax Centers. Certainly, management material! My rating for 4-stars comes from the female manager who was on duty that day. I have an issue about the way the waxers are 'rushed' to get to each client. Managers communicate with waxers through beepers. India's manager beeped her at least 5 times during my session. For personal areas of people's bodies that the waxers have to attend to, ample time should be given, so that they are not rushed. I just moved to DE about 1.5 month ago and was in search of a new waxing place. This by far the worst experience of a Brazilian waxing I had in the last 8 years. I was checked in at 1322 and checked out by 1338. I'm still mind-blowed on such a short service. I am giving this place two stars because my genital area is actually clean... but the in-between service was awful. For starter, my appointment was on Sunday, May 6th at 1315. I apologized for arriving late at 1322, but still within their 9 mins time frame before my appt would be canceled. The receptionist was friendly and gave me a brochure of their group packages. Which was affordable 9 waxing appt for $300 (since there is a $150 discount from the original price of $450... that is cheap) I sat down and waited for a short bit, then my name was called. My esthetician lady had an aura of not being pleasant. If she had told me she didn't want to service me. I could have known and would have asked to have her replaced or rescheduled my appt. When she took me to the waxing room, she asked me to remove my clothing, yet does not leave the room... like the normal place I go to back in VA. The tech seems to be rushed, she applied a lot of baby powder in my genital area. I know the purpose of baby powder is to remove the oil and moisture but please don't drown me in it. In between each strip of wax she used the tissue to clean it. Please mine you some people like myself are quite sensitive in the genital area, especially after a strip of hard wax pulled all those hairs. Midway of the wax, a phone dinged. I assumed it was mine, but the tech pardons herself to be dismissed. She left without even asking me to cover myself. I was completely exposed when she exited the waxing room. During the wax appt, I apologized that my leg moves a lot when I feel discomforts (even if I had taken two Advil before the appt for pain relief). So I asked the tech if she was almost done just to have a time frame of how much hair is left... she replied: "it would be faster if I didn't move a lot." She wasn't very conversational, so I kept quiet. I know my leg moved a lot during the waxing, but each time she applies the hard wax she used a lot of pressure. It was hard to keep my leg still. Also, they only have ONE hard wax container. The place I normally go to in VIRGINIA (Aqua Salon, Virginia Beach) has 3 to 4 wax containers per Brazilian wax alone. After she walked me out the reception area. I handed back the brochure to the receptionist and told her I wouldn't be back so no need for wasting a brochure. She politely asked what was wrong I told her it was nothing and everything was okay. She also asked if I wanted to take some sample products with me. I politely declined. I paid my first-time visit of $25 for a Brazilian (50% off for first-timer) and tipped $10 for the service. Next time I'll stick with paying $70-$80 at my normal place in Virginia. Me and Stephanie are besties now. No one else is waxing my nether regions except her. So nobody told me that their wax is literally laced with fairy dust because it didn't hurt at all. I got my first Brazilian elsewhere and when I tell you I had PTSD from it , I'm not kidding. I iced for two days after, I had bumps, didn't want anything to do with wearing underwear for thr and had ingrown hairs after a week. Not at European Wax Center. I have going to the EWC for years! I just moved to Delaware and I have been going to the Location by the Christiana Mall. I never loved the place because I noticed there is always a wait. I ignored that. I get the Brazilian wax, one time I went and notice my area was feeling really rough after like 2 weeks, I ignore that and spoke to the water about it the next time. All was good. I had an appointment just yesterday at 6:30pm. I was running a little late but figured I was ok due to the grace period. I walked partially in the door at 6:39, I said can you check me in while I run back to my car for my mask. She says oh you just missed your reservation! To my surprise I was confused and not understanding that you would cancel me right at the grace period. At this point there are two ppl sitting in the waiting area. I believe she was just being a B.I.T.C.H. And borderline racist! I know the difference. I truly feel if I were a Caucasian person her attitude would have been totally different. It was the way she said, like Oops your now 2 minutes pass the grace period sooory! I was pissed because she chose to be a bitch about it and further more, what is the rule when you are on time for your appointment and your waxer has you waiting for more than 10 minutes! She couldn't give me an answer to that question! I am extremely pissed off not because I needed to be waxed, I truly did not but because it was just a choice she made to be a way toward a customer with no regard. I've had the WORST experience at this company and I suggest others to stay far away unless you want the same. Back in November I went and got a bikini wax done (as I have numerous times in the past) and got the worst wax in my life. The wax was so bad I had an abrasion on the INSIDE of my vulva area. It was so bad I was bleeding and the skin was so raw I had to go to the doctors to get assistance and still to this day almost a month later STILL experiencing complications. The staff? Don't even get me started on them. Owner Dan Demasi is the WORST, completely unprofessional! When I expressed my concerns (over the phone) he attempted to tell me I'm lying, asked for proof (YES proof of my vagina), AND a doctors note. To put the icing on the cake once I did ALL of this it still wasn't enough I was then told by the waxing instructor I'm still lying. On top of that, one of the waxers broke a confidential LAW by spreading my business to an ex-employee who sent me a text message showing PROOF! The owners response to that was "its wrong but from time we need to discuss client matters to do better" yeah, but my name should have never been apart of that conversation. Even after this horrible experience all the owner cares about is money because he attempted to keep me as a customer. I've asked numerous times through email for a refund that I was told I would get and I keep getting the run around. I had the experience of trying this center after years of loyalty back in Kansas. I was highly disappointed. Yesterday I went in to get my eyebrows done. First red flag the room was a mess. Second red flag she kept complaining about the wax i.e. saying it's the wrong texture and stirring it a lot. Afterwards I had a lot of redness but didn't think much of it as I went an extra week or so between waxes this go round. This morning though I'm noticing it looks like I was burnt underneath both my brows. My waxer seemed like she was stressed out. In Kansas I had always talked with my ladies about how challenging their job can be so I understand it's normal for EWC to book these girls to the brim with little to no time in between but I had still never had a service so botched (I'm accustomed to getting brows and Brazilians done here). As well as afterwards when the lady upfront was checking me out she allowed herself to be interrupted by another guest to get her rescheduled with the waxer she wanted which was frustrating. So, I'm a 38 year old woman who went to school to be an esthetician over a decade ago. I know about waxing, I've given Brazilian waxings but it's not something I have ever ever ever thought I could do or would do. No way. I never ever thought twice about it. Yea, I know I just said that but I need you to understand how serious I am. But I was so sick of shaving it and sick of using Nair, I mean, why purchase organic foods when I'm rubbing something on my most sacred precious private area with something that smells like it's from 1980 something. Legit like I grabbed it off the shelf in 1980. I start having flash backs of perm rods with the first whiff. Google it kids. Ok so back to my story....so I decide to pop into this joint after making several appointments and canceling them. There's 2 women working the front reception area and they are just lovely. I'm neurotic and nervous and asking her ridiculous questions like "will I be able to walk out of here?" ‍ They are friendly and reassuring but not at all trying to push me into anything, and made me feel so comfortable. As soon as I said, "yes! I'm going to do it now" I immediately regretted it in my head and took a seat beside another young lady, at least ten years younger then me who told me it was also her first time getting a Brazilian. I couldn't believe how calm and cool and collected she looked, meanwhile I was frantically texting my husband, and telling him I'm doing the thing I've been going back and forth about doing for YEARS and his immediate response? Was "OMG". Because that's how serious this was, is, will forever be. Caitlin (the most amazing Esthetician I have ever met) called me back, just in time because I'm pretty sure the other young lady who looked calm was starting to have 2nd thoughts and looking towards the door after watching me twitch, bite the sides of my nails while forcing deep breathes and trying to calm down and text my husband for support, which probably looked something like someone in labor or having a panic attack and a seizure at the same time. Caitlin had me in and out in 15 minutes. She was professional and kind. And there was hardly any pain! I just can't believe I took this long NOT getting this done. I feel ten years younger. I look ten years younger. ok ok but seriously, it's amazing. Go there, ask for Caitlin, chat with the lovely receptionists, and leave feeling wonderful. No shaving. No 1980's perm rod flash backs. Came in to get a brazilian wax on a Saturday. When the wax specialist was done, from what I saw in the lighting there, it looked ok. I get home to shower and take a closer look and there's significant little patches of hair around my bikini line up top on BOTH sides as well as to the right of my vagina just outside of the lips going towards the inner thighs. This is the ONLY close location from a little past Dover, DE. I frequent the wax center in Santee, CA and have NEVER had an issue. I called this location on Thursday morning at 10am, as this was the ONLY day I would have time to try and get this fixed being that it's about an hour away or more if there's traffic and the woman at the reception desk first tells me there's a 5 day touch up grace period so I would have had to come in by Wednesday. So I asked her if they count Saturday as a day and she places me on hold and says, "Oh you have until today but the only thing I have is at 4:15pm" And I told her I live an hour or more with traffic away, there's no way I can make that today. (I guess they assume no one works during the day). So I asked is there any other time and she says no. I'm waiting on a call from management. I'm beyond pissed because for the cost of the service and the fact that I've been getting waxed by their company for over a year, you'd think they'd have some kind of integrity or loyalty to their customers (MOST ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY CAN LOOK IN THE SYSTEM AND SEE), and honor a touch up on the 6th day if it's not the clients fault they're booked on that 5th day! Also because once they look, they can see that there's NO WAY a whole patch of longer hair grew within 5 days! . WHY SHOULD ANYONE HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET SOMETHING FIXED THAT YOUR EMPLOYEES DIDN'T DO RIGHT THE FIRST TIME?!?! They should be obligated to MAKE time to fix their mistakes. Not "there's a 5 day grace period but we're all booked up". That's bullshit! Depending on whether management resolves this issue, I'll update my review but for now, I'd advise you ladies to go FIND ANOTHER WAX SHOP if you want it done right the first time!!!! I have been to wax centers all over and the Delaware locations never cease to disappoint. I was 20 minutes early for my appointment and had seen online there were earlier time slots, so I figured they could squeeze me in. I could tell there were at least 5 waxers working at the time and no other customers. After waiting 20 minutes till my original time, I still wasn't called back until 5 minutes later... and they gave me the slowest waxer of all time for two services it took 35 minutes. I was there for an hour which is ridiculous when I know a higher level waxer could have had me in and out in less than 15 minutes - infuriating terrible customer experience by the front desk. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE PASSES. I promise you that you will be angry. This is how they bamboozle you out of your money. You but the yearly pass. If you are 9 minutes late for your appointment, they will NOT TAKE YOU UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES. Then you have to come a whole other day. They DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH EMPLOYEES TO ACCOMMODATE CUSTOMERS. They had two esthetician in a day that I went for service. In addition, they schedule people every 15 minutes. Please explain how a good Brazilian wax is supposed to take 15 minutes! So if you buy the pass, you will regret it. Also, there is no manager at any of the facilities. I was told that I had to leave a message or write to a manager in order to complain. Lastly, as I was waiting for an appointment, the two at the front desk were rudely discussing a customer that was on the blocked list. The customer was not allowed to make any appointments. She could only walk in because she had been more that 9 minutes late three times. The customer wanted her money back for the pass, but she was told to call management. And to top this all off, I've waited longer than 9 minutes for my appointments almost every time I've gone. So, EWC will not allow clients to arrive more than 9 minutes late, but they will make them wait longer than 9 minutes. I just wish I knew all of this before I bought that darn pass. When I complained, the girl at the desk told me that it's speed waxing and it's cheaper than spas. Basically, that was her justification for rude service, no managerial presence, and unethical business practices. I've also heard that EWC charges their employees around $4000 if they don't work there an entire year. Those employees are double booked and victims of being understaffed. That $4000 supposedly covers their special training even though they are already licensed when they apply. If you live in New Castle County, Maria at Wax Divas is more actually affordable and she's so thorough. I can't wait to return to her after my EWC pass expires. read more

My waxer, Nyah, was so gentle on my sensitive skin that I can genuinely say that it was my best wax yet. I've been going to EWC for years and always have a ton of ingrowns so my waxes take a long time. Nyah did it not only in ten minutes, but I was really happy with the results. She is great with shaping your eyebrows so they are the best shape for your face. Her Brazilians are nearly painless. I love her! Tell her Tori sent you! This review is LONG overdue! I've been to other European wax centers in the past and had a consistent waxer at the Broomall location for about two years. When this location opened, I just happened to get India as a waxer one time and have not gone to anyone else for the past year +. She is so amazing and her attention to detail is like no other. She is thorough and makes sure that you experience as little pain as possible. India is the sole reason for the 5 stars. She cares about her clients and gives you her undivided attention during the time you have with her. Other waxers I've had in the past would talk about how busy they were the entire time and rush through a wax. I will say that I think the waxers rush because they are constantly being paged when you are in with them, so I do not think it is entirely their fault that they have to rush. The owner/previous manager isn't very friendly and does not greet guests or try to engage with them. If India ever leaves, I will be following her for her services for sure. read more

She had to re-do certain areas multiple times because the way she ripped the wax off was leaving patches. I am a frequent customer of EWC. Being from Maryland I had centers all around me. However, I just moved to Dover, DE and of course they don't have a center in that area. When I looked online and saw the closest center is Newark, DE. I was hesitant to schedule since that is about a 45 minute drive. I took the drive anyway because a wax is so necessary to me. I will say I am happy I did. My esthetician was Nyah. She is great! This was the least painful wax experience I've had in my 2 years of going to EWC. She was very nice and kept the conversation flowing which keeps the experience from being awkward. Will definitely continue to drive the 40 miles. Although the two staff members at the front desk were extremely friendly and courteous, the young lady assigned to perform my wax was not courteous, appeared hurried, did not exchange pleasantries and exhibited absolutely no gentleness when doing the Brazilian wax. I had a waxing performed on me on Saturday March 30, 2019 and I was the worst service I had ever received in my life. I have called the location three times to complain but keep getting left on hold for over 5 minutes. My appointment was at noon. At 12:10 I asked if everything was okay because I was still waiting. The reception said "I don't know what's taking so long, I just paged her". My waxer come out soon after. I don't know her name because she didn't introduce herself. The first application of wax was cold and didn't spread well. She tweezed a few stubborn ones and was done. I didn't notice until I got home later that evening that she had missed a ton of hairs!!!! I had an event to go to so I had to tweeze myself which I hate doing because I sometimes break the hair causing an ingrown. Also when I got there I said to her that I think I have an ingrown but I can't see it. She looked at it quickly and said it was a pimple. I believed her because I trusted her to do her job well. The bump is still there and I believe it to be an ingrown. Also, while checking out the reception informed me that I was using my last wax in my package and just said "you can buy another one next time". So I went today for the first time and it was awesome. Front desk was really nice and my waxer, India, was bomb. She was very professional and made me feel very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this EWC. read more
