I was not super impressed with the food. While the chicken I got tasted good, the rice with it was hard, the veggies were drenched in butter, and the salad was pretty wimpy. If you like the simple steakhouse food that is at every other steakhouse, then it's not bad. But for what we paid, I was a little disappointed it wasn't better or more original. Good food/ service , when i would go it was never packed, at most 3-4 other tables filled. Ive had the sirloin, each time i ask for medium-rare and got exactly that not a bad place. comfortable atmosphere and seemingly friendly staff. My husband and I had the worst steaks ever! For a place with steak in its name I expected a decent steak! The 1st steak my husband had was a "16oz Ribeye" it actually had about 6oz of meat and the rest was fat. He sent it back and was served another ribeye which was a little better but still super fatty. Close to Ft. Leonard wood army base, and was seated right away. Server, Abby, was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and kept on top of filling the drinks. We dined at this establishment on Mother's Day and obviously due to the holiday we knew when walking in that we would have to wait a while for our meal, but were happy that Mom didn't have to cook :) we were seated quickly and our drinks and appetizer were out promptly. The potato skins, trail potatoes, were awesome! They were cooked to perfection! The wine that our waiter recommended was excellent. Now we overheard a couple of customers complaining because their food was taking a while. Our server kept checking on us to the point where we told them it was ok, we were happy with our potatoes, salads and their amazing rolls!! I felt sorry for the staff as they apologized for the kitchen staff, bc of the amount of food they were cooking. If people go out on a holiday they should be expected to wait, many places have you sitting in the lobby for 45 minutes!! We didn't mind sitting at a table with something to eat and drink! Then when our food came out, it was awesome!! Our steaks were perfectly cooked and my sweet potato was soft, piping hot and delicious! We tipped our waitress well bc we had a wonderful meal, service and over all experience on Mother's Day at the ONLY steak house in a small town! Restaurant did not appear overly busy but service personnel seemed to be overwhelmed. Asked the bartender, Andrea, if restaurant was busier then other Wednesdays (2/7/18) which she related it was not. Andrea was doing a good job trying to keep up with all her duties. Other than waiting on patrons sitting directly at the bar, she was required to wait on 4 two tops and one 4 top table. As she was absent from the bar for extended periods of time, it appeared she was required to go to the kitchen to "run" all her own food. I ordered the 10 ounce rib eye medium rare. The menu indicated by word and picture medium rare to be a warm red Center. I was delivered what appeared to be a sirloin steak, described to be a New York strip steak prepared medium at best; meaning a a pink, hot center. When I notified the person delivering the meal I had ordered the rib eye medium rare they set the plate in front of me and said, "oh yes that's what that is." Andrea was so busy running back and forth to the kitchen for food for other patrons that I was nearly half through with my steak before she had the opportunity to stop and check on me. As I had eaten half of it I did not bother to complain of it being overcooked. I just did not finish the meal. I observed other patrons at the bar as well as tables in the bar area received rolls and butter prior to their meal being delivered. I was not offered or provided rolls and butter. As it appeared Andrea was having difficulty keeping up with her bar and table patrons, washing glasses, keeping the bar top clean, preparing drinks for the wait staff, and settling checks for servers I indicated it appeared she or any bartender could use the assistance of a barback. Andrea related she had stated those same sentiments to management on numerous occasions without success. My opinion is the attitude of Colton's management is they are serving "just Soldiers", often young ones at that, and therefore do not need to provide a good product or service. read more

After months of avoiding this place due to them not being able to cook a steak properly I tried it again. Well that was a mistake. I ordered the filet mid rare and it comes out so rare its still purple. My wife's and daughters steak tips were ordered medium and they came out well. I am done with Coltons. My husband raved about this place on previous training trips to FLW so I was excited to try it. The wait time wasn't bad, the bread and salad were good and brought out quickly, and the server was excellent. The problems started when the meal arrived. My husbands ordered a sirloin cooked medium. His was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. I ordered a ribeye, medium rare, it came out medium well. It was a pretty thin steak so I could see how it was easily overcooked. The server had them remake it. The manager brought out the new steak and it wasn't even brown, it was a weird tan color and a much thicker steak. I cut into it and it was flat out raw. He apologized and said it was his fault, he was trying to rush it so I could eat with my family. He brought out a third steak which was exactly the same way. He then proceeded to try to convince me that was medium rare and I didn't know what I was talking about. He was extremely rude and condescending. This steak was so raw it was blue and juices didn't even come out of it when I cut into it. I would have chalked it up to just a bad night in the kitchen if it wouldn't have been for the manager and his nastiness. After reading other reviews and speaking to locals, it looks like steak doneness is a common issue at this restaurant. I gave it 2 stars only because my husband and son's food were good. read more

Just move here because husband got ordered. We had and FRG dinner here. I was excited because I never ate here. I ordered potato skins for appetizer and steak for my main corse. My potato skins came to me half warm half cold. There was no potato in there at all no filling. I figured the steak would be good since it's a steak restaurant. I asked for medium well and I got raw steak. I returned my steak requesting for a new one. When I revived my steak again it was rare. My husband steak was rare and at least 5 others at our table were rare when we asked for medium. I don't plan on going back what so ever. I was just disappointed coming to a new area and hoping for some good food. Our FRG hasn't gone back since that day. Which is sad because our Drill Sergeant work so hard they deserve to relax and have good time. read more

I gave this 4 stars for one important reason .... they literally piled each course on top of each other .... our appetizers were still being eaten (and not even half way through) when the salads came .. and I think I had two bites of my salad when our main course came (they had not even removed the appetizers because we were not finished that) - food was good, staff was pleasant and the place was nice. However, my husband and I went in around 4:30pm and were sat near a bar area with a server whom had no idea what the happy hour specials were.. hum. We proceeded to be rushed to order and finally decided on steak tips and a 12oz steak. Okay we ordered almost $35 worth of steak medium rare. Wait time was short, got to the table and my steak tips were COLD. Potatoes were room temperature and beans were same. I told the waitress and she said.."ok so what do you want me to do?" ARE U SERIOUS? I want hot food that I ordered??? Send it back to the kitchen for a remake or heat it up? This is a $13 entree and you expect me to be satisfied with it cold? It was returned to me warm (not hot) and the meat was no longer med rare but well done. Super disappointed and will not return. I went to Colton's on Sunday evening with my friend, the restaurant was not crowded. When we were shown to a table, the waitress put us in the center of the room. There were several booths open, so we asked for one of them instead. She led us to a booth, but she looked extremely nervous. This made me and my friend very uncomfortable. Then she proceeded to point us out to other waitresses in the restaurant. I'm not sure what that was all about, but we felt uncomfortable enough to leave. I've asked for booths at several restaurants if they were available and never had a problem before. Colton, we won't be back! read more

This place is so over priced my $20 steak was over cooked and extremely small. The bacon was was just fat. The floors were extremely slippery and my table was wobbly. The sides were very small and not very good. My brothers chicken tenders were so greasy and made him sick. They burnt the bread on my sisters sandwich, it was BLACK. My mom got nachos and they were disgusting and 75% lettuce. And my brothers burger Had a hard bun and was undercooked. We got a root beer which was $5 no refills. This was 100 DOLLARS for what a stomach ache and a bad taste in my mouth. Do not come here it is not worth the high price.The food is god awful. Oh also waited 35 minutes for a seat when they said it would be 10. If I had to describe it in one word DISGUSTING. I threw up after. I've been to Colton's several times now and have not had one bad experience! I've ordered something different each time and have not had one complaint. My personal preference is the Hawaiian Ribeye.The food is always warm and presented well. I am not a huge drinker but they have a wide variety of alcohol. I recommend the Wild West Fling...it's the bomb! The atmosphere is awesome! A great place to bring my family, or have a night out with friends or my husband. Everyone is so friendly, which is refreshing to find in this town. Everything is clean and well kept up. I will continue to go here and I advise everyone else to as well! read more

I was worried about trying Colton's after reading the reviews. I asked a local and they said they'd never had a bad meal and we should really give the place a try. We were in town for our Soldier's graduation and he really wanted steak. The rolls were fresh and hot, served w/ honey on the side, that was a nice touch. Our waitress was efficient keeping our glasses of sweet T full and checked on our meal often. The meal was good, steaks weren't tough and prepared correctly. The kids chicken was large, but a little on the spicy side for a kids meal. We did go at lunch time and everyone else in the restaurant seemed to enjoy their meal and their service. He then disagreed with about how it should be cooked and told her it was cooked the way it was ordered. I was shocked that a manager would not only argue with us but talk to us the way he did.
