The service was excellent! We had an amazing waiter, and the food was fantastic. They provide buckets of peanuts for the table to share. Although we didn't receive any bread, it was still a great experience. I ordered the Montana burger with pepper jack cheese. Normally, I'm not a fan of pickles, but these were so good!

Chicken fried steak with white peppered gravy ..... delicious!

Came to lunch at Colton's after graduation at Fort Leonard Wood. The place has great a great old west quirky atmosphere. Service was extremely slow! We sat for 15 minutes before even being acknowledged, which was unacceptable. Some of our food was dropped on the floor on the way to our table. A salad was totally forgotten and arrived when the main meal was almost finished. The best things ordered by my group were the chicken fried steak with white peppered gravy and the smothered chicken. Everything else was so-so. Being from California where prices are high, I couldn't believe the bill was only $113 for 2 appetizers, a kids meal and 5 adult meals.

Ribeye steak, medium/ well so good!

Chef in the kitchen doing Gods work! Ribeye was delicious! Charred and cook to my perfection of med/well! So good! So was the fried pickles. Definitely going back for another steak. Rolls came out hot with honey and butter, waitress had to show me house to mix butter and honey together and put on the hot roll. So good! Service was also very quick, approves and drinks start to come out shortly after ordering. Friendly staff.

Place was an ok place to have lunch.. It can get busy esp if there's military graduation day.. We got seated about 6-10min, got offered some peanuts on our way to our table... The place was pretty pack not only because a lot of soldiers and their family came to have lunch also some locals. Service is pretty ok semi slow; we also had a new server at that time I think it's her first day and she spilled water on our family member... Due to that incident another server offered a compliment appetizer and we got the onion bloom which was really good... Ordered 3 steaks a burger and a salad, came pretty fast. Taste was pretty decent nothing special to be honest. It was an a.o.k service and food.

View of the main dining area. It was very early so don't judge the low crowd size. I'm told they get very busy for dinner.

Solid chain steakhouse where you can expect a good cut of meat served quickly at a good price in a nice atmosphere. Good place if you have kids as they have plenty of room to accommodate high chairs or kids that need to walk about when they get antsy. Staff is friendly and efficient. Don't forget your bucket of peanuts.

Came for dinner on Tuesday evening, we got in and were seated right away even though we were a party of 10 ! Will was our server and did a fabulous job, everyone's order came out perfect. We all had steaks and they were prepared just right. My sirloin was excellent, the t-bones and NY strips were as well. Will was very attentive and came often for drinks and anything we needed. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I recommend you come for dinner and ask for Will - I guarantee you will be happy !!

Cottons steakhouse is a run of the mill chain Steakhouse. Nothing really stuck out for me. I did really love the peanuts that you could take to your table. The waitstaff was kind, friendly, and fast. Definitely no complaints there. I ordered 2 double captian and cokes for myself that were 14 dollars a piece and just average. Highly recommend not ordering drinks here. Steak was cooked how I wanted and was average. Potatoes were good. Maybe above average. The side salad really suprised me, actually was pretty big and filling. To summarize, it was ok

Food: 3* overall the food was disappointing for a steakhouse. The salad was fresh but the portion size was way too small. The rolls were a 5* however the main reason you go to a steakhouse, the steak. I would give it a 2*. No flavor at all. If you like your steaks without any seasoning then this is the place for you. I ordered the 12oz ribeye medium. It was cooked to specifications but didn't have a good taste. Service : 4*. Friendly and accommodating Cleanliness: 4* the place was cleans considering the serve peanuts. Atmosphere: 3*. The atmosphere was kinda bland. Just another restaurant Price: 2* for the quality of the food the price as a bit too high. Overall, I wouldn't come back here because the steak had no flavor. For everything else I would come back.

This Old Fashioned took me back to business. Balanced and flavored well. You taste what you want. You want more taste. cool beans

Amazing service! I would've given it a 4 star for the food, but the service was just that good it's getting a 5 star.

Great food and friendly staff. The decor is a western type feel with heads of deer above you as you dine, would go back.

He had a turkey club and I had a turkey avocado sandwich on multigrain. For sides we had cucumber salad, potato salad, and mac & cheese. A word of surprise, the potato salad is served warm, but it was really tasty. The only disappointment was the mac & cheese, which was grainy and soup-like with very overcooked noodles in it. They had no discernible shape and almost seemed like egg noodles oddly enough. We enjoyed our drinks, sandwiches and salads very much.

Followed by a Monte Cristo. The bread was so light and fluffy. The saltiness of the meat with the sweetness of the bread and sugar with a little spread of raspberry preserves delighted the tastebuds. The side of fruit was large and seasonally appropriate. You order at the counter, where I think the owner was taking the orders and the accent definitely sounded authentic German like the name of the restaurant. She was lovely. Everything is made fresh so sit back and relax and the dining area is designed perfect for that with couches, cozy chairs and comfortable seats at the tables. I looked up what the name means: "Drachenfutter" is also a term used to describe gifts or treats that someone might bring home for their significant other when they feel guilty about coming home late or drunk. True to the "gift" part of the name, you can take yummy homemade treats home with you and they do have a section of gifts you can buy. A nice gem of a place along Historic Route 66.

It's the kind of joint where the atmosphere is thicker than a Sunday morning fog and the hospitality is warmer than a radiator in July. Since we're right there in the shadow of the fort, you'll find yourself rubbing elbows with all sorts of folks. They say you ought to eat where the locals eat, but in a military town, "local" is a relative term--most everybody there is from somewhere else, and they're all just passing through on Uncle Sam's dime. But at Hopper's, for an hour or two, everybody's treated like they grew up right down the street. If f you're looking for a cold beer, Hopper's has their own house brew on tap that's colder than a mother-in-law's stare. It's a sports bar in the truest sense--wall-to-wall TV screens making sure you don't miss a single down or a checkered flag. When there's a car show in town or a big game on, the place gets livelier than a porch dog with a new bone. Speaking of dogs there is a semi-permanent guest that stops by name of Norman. Pet him and you will have a friend for life. They aren't feeding birds here, friend. We're talking Burgers and fries of with tons of flavor. Sliders, cheesesteaks and wings, make sure you got extra napkins. I am not sure why but I think he also have vegetarian options. The staff is politer than a deacon on Sunday. They're attentive, friendly, and they treat travelers like they've lived in Waynesville their whole lives. Keep in mind they are pumping out a ton of adult beverages and food. A cold beer and a good burger are worth a five minute wait. Whether you're just passing through or you're a "local" who's only been in town since your last PCS, Hopper's is a solid bet for a good time and a full belly. It's family-friendly, high-energy, and highly recommended. And if you happen to be there when they break out the Bingo, hold onto your hat. They've got a unique set of calls and responses that'll frighten and amaze you the first time you hear 'em--it's somewhere between a drill sergeant's cadence and a tent revival, and it's worth the price of admission just to witness the spectacle.
