The store was busy. All the workers were busy. But they all made sure to greet every customer & follow up with offers of help. The building's above 100 years old. It reminded me, while I was waiting, of the small town hardware shops my grandpa & I would hit when we needed supplies between roofing jobs. That was a great memory for me. Those background places in the past gather importance when folks are gone. Small shops navigate the big box waves through specialized products & good customer service. In 2021, I remodeled my kitchen and bought my kitchen from their Maumee location. This time, they kept changing delivery dates and caused long delays in my project. I was mad but tried to be understanding given the pandemic. In 2025, the touch panel of the microwave oven they had sold me stopped working. I called them and explained the problem. They sent out a technician whose diagnosis after two minutes was (and I quote directly) "Touch panel failure". Duh! He then spent about 10 minutes on his computer and told us the part was not showing available and that we had to get a new unit. He did not take the microwave oven out of the cabinet, did not check whether the power was plugged in, did not open the back plate and look inside. He did nothing but try to use the touch panel. They he charged us $128.22 and left. Since I was busy at the time and had the old microwave that I could use temporarily, I postponed fixing the issue. Last week, I removed the microwave from the cabinet, opened the backplate and (after reviewing the user manual and watching a bunch of DYI videos on YouTube) figured that the internal fuse was blown. So I called GE parts hotline and ordered a new fused directly from the brand. After replacing the blown fuse, the touch panel lit up and the microwave oven started working. What bothered me was the fact that the technician had no interest in finding the cause of the touch panel failure and moved too quickly to advising us to order a new oven through them. Having fixed the problem myself, I called them up and asked to speak to the service department manager. I tried to explain everything chronologically but the manager was impatient, cut me off multiple times, and defended the technician's actions. He basically shut me down. I called a second time yesterday, hoping to talk to someone who cares about the Appliance Center's image, like the owners of the business. I was again routed to the service department manager, who repeated his earlier response. Not only the technician didn't do their job right for the price we were charged, but the manager was indifferent and uninterested in the experience that I, as a loyal customer, was trying to share with them. They lost me as a customer forever. I hope those reading my review will exercise caution when calling the Appliance Center for repair services.

We've even referred friends + relatives to them (high praise). Our salesman Chad Schirtzinger, his sales manager Chrissy Boasetti, and their fabrication + installation manager Toney Curry were all wonderful to work with - knowledgeable, professional, fair, reasonable, and genuinely nice. They have a big selection of slabs, and a huge room of remnants they can fabricate for smaller jobs, too. We weren't planning to, but found a rem to upgrade the countertop in a half-bath, too. This install was big and challenging - it took 3 huge slabs of matching Quartzite for a giant island and a full-height wall backsplash behind the stove. It took 8 strong men to carry and set the big island slab - I promise we were holding our breath the whole time they were carrying it in. There were a few small hiccups - that's going to happen with a big and complicated job like this. They fixed everything to our satisfaction - no hesitation, no complaints, no problem - they consistently "did the right thing" (which is refreshing and somewhat unusual these days). We kept changing our minds in the design process, and they handled our ideas and frequent changes with expert guidance, kindness and grace. AND... because hard surfaces aren't cheap, and Quartzite is quite expensive (2.5x-3x the cost of granite) - their prices were fair, fair, fair. They were fully 1/3 cheaper than another well-known granite fabricator I've spent a LOT of money with in the past (and never will again). The Granite Guy's prices were fair and reasonable for what we got. I cannot say this strongly enough - we recommend The Granite Guy 100%. 1,000%. 10,000%. Our customer experience with them was awesome and what you'd hope for, their prices were fair, the people are awesome, and we got exactly what we wanted at a price that didn't feel like we were being ripped off (if I show you the quote we got from "those other guys", you'll understand what I mean). This project transformed our kitchen, and our entire home. I've attached pix - check them out. Everyone loves our kitchen now. We interviewed most of the big name remodeling companies in the area but we were uncomfortable with the either the cost or the job supervision process. In CHW we found a boutique firm whose co-owners, Bill Maibach and Dave Walker, had over 20 years of experience and are with you from design to finish. They are a can do team and, but for a few items, did the complete "to the studs" remodel themselves. Having the owners on site actually doing the work is both highly unusual and very beneficial in making sure the remodel is being executed to plan. They were a pleasure to work with. We found them responsive and professional while delivering a very high quality finished project. I couldn't recommend more highly.

The room looks so bright and clean now, the new fixtures work beautifully, and cleaning takes almost no time at all. Plus, we now have stylish grab bars, a non-slip shower pan, and a larger drain that won't get clogged with hair. Michelle suggested removing some wall tile to extend the new Onyx wall slabs in the shower enclosure to the door molding, and we are really pleased with the result. The 3-person installation crew, led by Kevin, got the whole job -- including replacing two toilets -- done in 8 hours. They showed up on time, were very pleasant, and they cleaned up after themselves. There were a few minor issues after the job was done, and Michelle sent Matt over. He made everything perfect, and he was just as nice as the rest of the crew. Columbus Bath Design gave us a fair price. They are one of the best contractors we've had in the 24 years we've lived in this old house.

The took all the time I needed in the show room with lots of professional suggestions that I wouldn't even think about since I'm not in that business. There were ton's of scenarios to choose from and even more counter and vanity samples. As for the actual work on the job, CBD had some of the most able and professional craftsmen that I've run across. These guys were on time, worked diligently, contained demo dust and debris very well and took a lot of pride in how they installed the new product. That last part was very important to me. Not one of them treated the remodel like it was mine....It was more like they were doing the work in their own homes. It was flawless. During the project, they asked me my preference as to locations of towel and TP bars and soap caddies in the shower and bath and the direction of the floor being laid.
