I have attended and hosted events here and had wonderful experiences with both. The rooms have a standard banquet room look and feel to them, but don't feel dated or crowded. There is a lot of space to have tables set whichever way you want and the tables and chairs are nice looking and comfortable. There are a wide variety of menu options to choose from including some things that aren't on a typical banquet menu (like chicken souvkaki). Service from both the day of servers and the banquet coordinators is fantastic. Very communicative and friendly. One down side is that while there are signs by the various rooms for what the event is, I wish there was someone directing people when you first walk in, especially if there are several events going on. But overall, a great place to host or attend events. read more

We really enjoyed the Easter Brunch Buffet yesterday! The menu couldn't have been better! Food was high quality, fresh and hot. The staff made sure all the food was replenished as soon as it became low. Servers were excellent checking on us for replenishment of beverages. I've been to this banquet hall for a funeral breakfast, a dinner, and most recently a baby shower. The funeral breakfast was absolutely delicious because their specialty of chicken souvlaki is served and it is incredible. At the baby shower I went to, this was the first time we were in the room with the view. I never knew this room existed, as I've only ever been in the rooms not anywhere near windows. The shower room had a view of the outside that include a water feature, fire pits, etc. It looked like a great place to hang out. There was ample coffee happening and the servers were on top of keeping the glasses filled. The food was good. Chicken cordon bleu was served with twice baked potatoes and a vegetable. read more

Tender sliced roast beef with kimelwick (sp?), carrots and broccoli in butter, pasta in sauce, and this Greek style chicken breast strips that were to die for ( not literally please)! I've been here a couple times once for a wedding reception and once for a work function. The facilities are gorgeous and during the reception the seating and food was delicious. The temperature was just right. The bathrooms are clean and fully stocked with hand towels and toilet paper which is important during the function but people sometimes Overlook that. Had a bridal shower today in one of the rooms at the Columns. This place is beautiful. The staff that were working the event were very polite and efficient, the actual venue itself is so bright and open! There were multiple events happening in the venue but we were not bothered at all, couldn't hear through the walls or doors which was great. We had brunch which included scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, waffles, muffins, and cake -- alongside mimosas and a selection of other juices. The food was pretty good, no complaints there! Obviously I'm going to mention the bathroom - cause it was quite impressive. It had automatic lights, a nice full mirror and a chandelier. It was also very clean like the rest of the venue! I haven't been to many banquet halls since I moved here but if I ever had a reason to rent one I'd look into Columns for sure. read more

My experience was fantastic until the actual day of the wedding :/ The Good: beautiful venue (the patio and banquet room look amazing), food was tasty and staff was friendly. The wedding coordinator was very attentive and helpful with planning before the wedding. The Bad: There were 3 weddings that day. The first was running behind so ours ended up 25 minutes late. There were no signs or employees directing traffic in the building, so my guests were walking out onto the patio thinking it was my wedding (it was actually the previous wedding's cocktail hour still). They didn't know where they were supposed to go, so some waited in the lobby and some sat down in at their tables in the banquet room. Couldn't they have posted a sign saying "please wait in the lobby, we will be with you momentarily"? I had no clue this was happening. I was waiting in the bridal suite very confused about what was taking so long. No one told me they were running late! When it came time to walk to the ceremony area, we had to walk through the banquet hall (which ruined the room reveal/surprise/presentation) and across the patio to get there. The other wedding's cocktail hour was still happening so they roped off part of the patio for us to walk across. Very awkward and uncomfortable for both weddings! We paid for the venue from 5-11pm and that was not what we received. I never received an explanation or an apology for this. If they addressed the situation with me instead of pretending this was normal and not a problem, I might've understood and been less upset. They tried to sweep it under the rug and pretend everything was fine. I barely saw the wedding coordinator the day of the wedding and had to send my maid of honor to go find her multiple times. She was not easily accessible because she was busy with the other weddings. For example, we got locked out of the bridal suite and were not given the code to get in! The gluten free person didn't receive the gluten free meal and the vegetarians were served chicken soup instead of fruit cups. FYI- You cant have both vegan and vegetarian options- you have to choose one. Also, one of the steaks that came out was very rare and the person didn't feel comfortable sending it back so they just didn't eat it. There was a big mix up with dessert. After dinner was cleared away, we waited about 30 minutes before the coordinator came out to get the cake table off the dance floor! We had cupcakes that we wanted put out on the dessert table (which was going to be put out right after dinner). When they finally came to get the cake table they said they were scooping the ice cream and about to serve it. Ice cream? That was not part of the plan! There was a lot of confusion and disorder that day. The guests were getting irritated and restless and started getting up to talk and started dancing to the dinner music. Everyone was confused. I told the coordinator to forget about dessert and start the family dances because it was already after 8pm and we were missing out on drinking and dancing (the most fun part). There were about 10 people that didn't show up but we only got a few boxes of food to take home. What happened to the $500 worth of food I paid for?? It says in the brochure that we get a complimentary couples massage. Its 2 weeks after the wedding- still don't have it. They said it was coming in the mail when I asked them about it 2 days after the wedding. That would have been nice to use the day before the wedding when we were both stressed out. We ended up losing almost an hour of our reception due to the ceremony starting 25 minutes late and because of the awkward 30 minute delay after dinner. Weddings go by so fast as it is! Imagine paying so much money and losing an hour of it. The day of the rehearsal dinner and the day of the wedding, the coordinator left without saying goodbye. We had a nice tip for her because she was so great during the planning process, but because we didn't know she left and because of all the issues we had that day, we decided not to tip. We didn't even get a "congrats", "good luck", "its been nice working with you", etc. Not even a "goodbye". I was very excited to have my wedding here and spent lots of time planning, so I was very disappointed to watch it all fall apart the day of the wedding. It sounds like my situation is an isolated case based the other good reviews. Just want to share my unfortunate experience because it did happen. I feel like they really dropped the ball that night. I don't regret picking that place but I do feel disappointed about a lot of things that happened at my wedding. This wasn't a birthday party, this was my wedding day and I will never get that back. I sent them an email a couple days later explaining my disappointments. They apologized and offered to make us the food they never gave us that night. I'm not going to get the food because I'm trying to put the wedding behind me and move on. This broke my heart. read more

This is my third time in the new space at Columns. So inviting and calming, and with such a great outdoor area to take photos and have an uninterrupted conversation. This area of Western New York needed a great banquet place and they have it now. This last event I went to was a retirement party. The back room was comfortable and easy to get to the pictures table, the gift table and the bar. The food was very tasty and portioned so well. Cant say enough about this place!! read more

I attended my cousins wedding and was impressed from the get go. Heidi the wedding planner was friendly, organized and exceedingly efficient. The outdoor area where the wedding ceremony took place was well maintained, elegant and provided for an excellent backdrop. The food service, from the hors d'oeuvres/appetizers to the main course and cake were exceptional. And the wait staff were attentive, courteous and business-like. Fantastic place for a wedding reception - back in December 2019 when we started planning our daughter's wedding reception, we could not have envisioned how the world would change. The Columns was extremely flexible in adjusting their wedding packages/offerings to meet the circumstances presented by the pandemic. Over the year, the reception had to evolve from a traditional 200+ reception to 2 shorter 50 person receptions to comply with COVID restrictions. And then the week before the wedding, Erie County was declared a yellow zone so we had to downsize the two 50 person receptions to 25 and add a 25 person brunch the following day. And then a couple days before the wedding, we had to move the start times for each reception up by one hour due to new COVID restrictions requiring that no alcohol be served after 10PM. Jessica, the event planner, was top notch and was constantly thinking on her feet. In the end, everything worked out better than we could possibly have expected under the circumstances. We also give the Columns an A+ is meeting COVID requirements for restaurants. The main dining room is beautiful - it's definitely worth looking into to see if it meets the needs of your big day. Attended Easter brunch buffet today with my family of 10 plus two young kids. Even though it was crowded, we did not have to wait more than 10 minutes for a table that could accommodate us all. The buffet had a wide variety of items for breakfast and lunch, including a carving station with ham and roast beef. I especially liked the chicken souvlaki with dill for dipping and the roast beef which was extremely tender. There was also a dessert table with a variety of cookies and cakes. My daughter worked with the staff there and was very impressed with Heidi, and how organized the process was. The outdoor space for the ceremony and the cocktails was beautiful and the banquet room was quite elegant. Our guests were extremely impressed with both the food and the service. We had our daughters wedding here recently and what a memorable experience The Columns provided. The place is spectacular in an old school way that evokes grace and class all around. From the ceremony to the awesome outside cocktail hour to the classy and delicious reception nothing but perfection all around. The wedding coordinators who were with us from start to finish for the day provided the calm guidance that was needed for all of us in the wedding parties. We are so grateful for the help of these wedding professionals Heidi- Reina and Ron who handled all our situations with the right amount of seriousness and humor to help get us all through. I cant say enough about how absolutely delicious the cocktail hour was and the bubbly bar was also fantastic welcoming all with a glass of champagne- so classy. It made us feel so proud to have had my daughter and her husband choose such a class site. It was impressive to all and not to be out done was the best dinner we ever tasted at a wedding- a combo plate of amazing filet mignon and chicken - WOW that was incredible and a good sized portion. The service was friendly and attentive and prompt . The dance floor was very large to take care of all the dancers. It was complete elegance-class and grace from the moment you entered with its sweeping stairway and huge fireplace. Had my bridal shower here in July. Food was excellent, staff was great. Planning and communication was fantastic through the entire process.

Lesson learned - DO NOT tell the truth! When we went to pay our final bill, we were charged for guest that did not show AND they would not box up the food that was left so we could take it home. The room was not ready when we got there. They did not have enough glasses out for the punch (yet they had our head count) - needed to track down a server to get more glasses. The food was average banquet food. And the real kicker - Heidi the banquet manager brought other customers through the room while we were ending our baby shower!
