I called yesterday about an appointment for a dry check since I had recent contact with kids with lice. I was told no appointment required and to stop in today. I drove out of my way since this business has good reviews and that the woman on the phone was so friendly. I arrived at 4:20pm today since posted hours are till 6pm. Sadly the business is closed even though it shows open on Yelp. Guess I need to find another place. Disappointing. read more

Unfortunately my daughter's school had been subjected to a pretty good lice outbreak a few weeks ago. In complete shock I went straight to rite aid to buy whatever lice treatment they had. We did the treatment and after combing through my daughters hair a few times (eww) I decided to let the professionals handle this. I can't say enough good things about Comb It Out Lice Salon!!! I brought my family of five in because we found that we had lice. We were devastated. We came in and immediately the ladies made us feel at ease. They have personal DVD players for the kids, a whole library of movies and even a TV for the family members waiting in the lobby. They were able to answer all of our questions and made all of us feel completely comfortable. We had to come in for a second treatment..... we had quite a few of those little buggies..... when we came back for the second treatment they found nothing!!!! We were lice free!!! By the time we left my girls felt so at ease there, I don't think they wanted to leave!!! I know that if we ever have lice again I won't have to panic we will just call Comb IT Out!!! read more

I was hoping to never have to review a place like this but....well here you go. My daughter came home with a pretty serious case of lice this summer, our first encounter with these f**ckers!! We took her to the doctor first to confirm and were sent home with a prescription strength treatment. This did NOT WORK. She still was itching and had way too many bugs. We took her to comb it out and they were so helpful and friendly. The child and parents are treated with respect and the ladies will answer whatever questions you have about how to get rid of them, tips on how to clean at home, etc. They do dry checks for free as well. Our daughter ended up needing 2 treatments, so it got pretty expensive. But, I would pay it again to have them combed out professionally and with non toxic products. I will definitely recommend Comb It Out to any parent who has to deal with lice. I hope I never have to use them again, but they are extremely thorough and friendly! read more

When we found out about this place we could not wait for my daughters appt to get here. I did the NIX treatment from Walgreens and was able to kill the lice but the nits were impossible to take out she had so many, we felt so bad and helpless for our daughter! But all our worries were erased when we arrived and the sweet ladies and gentlemen took charge of the situation! They are professional and knowledgeable in what they are doing! This place is worth every dime! This was our first encounter with lice so we had no idea how hard and stressful having lice is! We hope we don't have to deal with lice again but if we ever do we will not worry cause this place takes care of business! We appreciate the staff and their clean facility! We definitely recommend this place don't go waste your money trying to do it yourself! Let the pros do it! Once again it's worth every dime! People be realistic sometimes you have to pay the money! Five weeks after we had lice in the house, we thought it was back again. The school said that the kid had nits, and it sure looked like she did, but she also had a lot of dandruff, so I just didn't know.... After a horrible experience at Nit Pixies last time (see the review), I found Comb it Out on Yelp. The pediatrician said that the kid's hair looked like it was just dandruff, but I came to have a wet check just to put my mind at ease. And, why not get myself checked, too? The young man and young lady who helped us were sooooo thorough! The kid got to watch a movie, and I got to read a book while these employees painstakingly combed through our heads, looking for the little pests. Luckily, none were to be found! It was totally worth the money and the drive to have peace of mind. The employees were really nice and attentive to us, which made this a less frantic experience. Plus, the kid and I got to sport some fancy braids for the ride home! Oh, and kids get to pick a toy from the treasure chest. I was sad that I was not able to take home a Hello Kitty ring, but I guess that's the cost of being a grown-up. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the woman on the phone was dishonest with me about something having to do with canceling an appointment. If she had just said, "sorry, but our policy requires 24-hour notice", that would have been okay. But, to claim that they could not refund the money because someone else was turned away from that appointment time (when the website showed that there clearly was still space at that time, AND I had just made the appointment an hour ago, leaving little time to turn away the masses) made me question their ethics. This place is great. They were able to fit my daughter, husband and myself in at the last minute. We used the chemical treatment you buy from the store, but still had the nits. They were able to comb them out and let us know how many had. Luckily we caught it early on. Went back for a second treatment and were lice free. I will definitely come back if we ever are exposed to them again as it it well worth the cost! The ladies that work here truly love their job and care about their clients! read more

Two days after using an over the counter kit on my daughters head, we felt completely overwhelmed and ill prepared to handle the lice. The comb that is included in the kit was not effective in getting the nits out. We made an appointment, the same day, with Comb it Out. Jamie worked for an hour an a half on my daughters head. She was thorough and kind and non-judgmental. Comb it Out was a life saver! They did dry checks on the rest of my family to ensure that no one else had lice. They have a nice area where siblings can play or watch TV. My daughter is now lice free! I highly recommend this place. read more

After checking yelp this was the place with the best reviews and in my opinion in cases like this you cannot afford to go wrong. Julie and Pam were awesome. Due to heavy traffic I arrived a half hour late and they were still able to fit myself and two daughters in. Fortunately they did not see anything. They did a double check just reassure me and make me more at ease. The place itself was clean and very kid friendly. Julie sat my 2yr old in a booster chair and gave her a movie with a snack. My daughter who normally is totally stranger danger, felt very at ease and let her go comb through her hair. I hope I never have to deal with this situation again but if I do this is where I will be going. read more

This place is wonderful ! I went to Alex and she did my sisters hair twice ! We had a wonderful experience with her. She was good with my sisters head since she has a sensitive head. One morning while my son was getting ready I noticed something in his hair. With a closer look I realized it was an egg. After a better look I noticed more of them and then a live bug....YUCK!! a Neighbor of mine raved about this place when her son had contracted lice at school so I called in at 10 and had an apt for my son, daughter(who ended up having 2 nits), my husband, and I at 11. After a free check my husband did not have any and so I had the kids and I treated. They were GREAT!!! We were out of there in a couple of hours as the process takes about 45 minutes per person but man are they efficient in getting rid of these little buggers! The kids had a great time since my son got to play his iPod while my daughter watched a movie of her choice during the process. It is costly but compared to most of these lice salons it is one of the more affordable ones and DEFINITELY worth the cost!! Unlike the over-the-counter products, everything they use here is organic and free of chemicals. And the kids were so excited to pick a toy from the treasure chest when they were done! This salon gave me my life back! My daughter and I came home from camp with nasty lice in our hair. We did some home treatments, but I was still so worried that they were not all gone. I called on a Saturday and they got us right in to be checked. They were so helpful, answered our questions, and listened to our story. We checked out to be lice free and feel human again. I had the unfortunate experience of needing to use this salon. I was freaking out, LICE!! ugh, eeww, GROSS!! So I took my dear children and my itchy head into see these ladies. THEY ROCK! The girls there checked my son and me for free, confirming we were indeed cootie free. My daughter got a more thorough "wet check" because I was sure I saw those little buggers crawling on her. Sure enough, it was confirmed, she had lice. The wonderful girl who worked on her was so patient and kind to her, thoroughly delousing my sweet, baby girl. My son was entertained with the toys, TV and free wifi while we waited. They answered all of my crazy, neurotic questions with a smile. It was a pricey experience, but well worth my peace of mind. Their service is amazing! The next morning as I was combing my daughter's hair, I found more nits. Freaking out again, I called at 7:45 am on a SUNDAY to leave a message in case we needed to go back in. One of the girls actually answered the phone and talked me down (their phones are forwarded after hours, I was shocked!) Horrible experience !! One of the workers there charged my card 50$ for canceling an appointment for not having had canceled the appointment within a 24 hour period, when I booked the appointment the girl who helped me never said they would charge me if I canceled their website doesn't include that information either and I didn't have a 24 hr period to cancel because I booked my appointment on a Thursday night at 5:50pm and called to cancel on Friday at 10:07 am I have a 5 month old son who I didn't have a babysitter for and Julie said it was fine that she wouldn't charge me. Then called me back 3hours later arguing with me saying she had to charge me the 50$ mandatory. They didn't not have recorded phone calls until I mentioned it to her telling her that the girl who booked my appointment never mentioned the penalty for canceling my appointment . They just pulled out the 50$ from my account and refused to speak to me afterwards. Horrible customer service!!! read more
