Xfinity was the worst internet service I've ever had. Constantly needing techs to come out and fix outside Xfinity equipment. Would go hours without service due to Xfinity's equipment issues. Reps would always say it was a modem/router problem (it was never a problem with my personal equipment) and after sending a tech out, techs would always say it was a problem with XFINTY'S equipment. So tired of the runaround from c/s reps just to have a tech come out and say "oops it was our fault all along." And this wasn't a one time thing. Over the 3 years I've had Xfinity internet service, I've had to have a tech come out over a dozen times. The technician who installed my TV and internet services installed everything wrong and I was on the phone for 5 days trying to resolve the mistake the tech did. It is beyond just a few incompetent or poorly trained employees. There has to be a strategy to wear down the customer and find ways to escalate the price. I had a THREE year battle with COMCAST. Every other month or so, they would add some oddball charge on our bill. I would have to call, be transferred multiple times, put on hold, argued with, etc. In the end the rep would have no no explanation, they would remove the charge and then in an month or two, they would add a DIFFERENT charge for something else nonsensical. I never had Comcast techs out here, never added anything, so these oddball charges made no sense. Having to repeatedly call, having to repeatedly deal with reps who clearly were trained to argue with the customer and insist that COMCAST "must be right" - REGARDLESS of the fact that they couldn't EXPLAIN why these rogue charges would suddenly "appear" out of nowhere, was overwhelming. Each time, I would have to escalate and ask for managers, it was completely exhausting, and took many HOURS of my time. I think COMCAST relies on people not checking their bills, especially those of us on "AUTOPAY", so they can secretly add and pad the bills. Why else would these charges appear, then be removed after one calls, then a month later a NEW - and unrelated - rogue charge is suddenly be added? I finally escalated their rogue sneaky adding-of-chaeges activity to Comcast VP's and their President's office. I would get dumped to other people, only for those Comcast people to turf me to others; it was a never-ending nightmare. I ended up filing with a complaint with the FCC, and that got Comcast's attention. Yay, finally resolved. (Or so I thought....) Uverse had just become available in our area, so I was able to dump Comcast and switch to Uverse - for 1/4 of what Comcast charged me. (And Uverse doesn't charge for their internet modem either!) So I returned my COMCAST internet modem to their local store. I made sure to get a RECEIPT, I made sure to write down the rep's name who took it in, AND I even took a picture of the sticker on the box which clearly showed the serial numbers on that Comcast Internet Modem (just for extra proof of the return). The rep in their store assured me I was completely done, and that she had closed my account. Not so. The nightmare began again. They sent me a letter that I had not returned my modem. I responded to their letter with ALL of my proof of the return: a copy of THEIR return receipt (with the serial numbers), the rep's name who took it (that was also printed on the receipt) and a copy of the picture of the side of the modem (which showed the very same serial numbers from their own receipt). A couple of weeks later they sent me a NEW letter that I now needed to return some sort of TV modem. PARDON? I never had Comcast TV! I had to make more calls, more arguing, more getting transferred around, more being placed on hold. More hours of my life lost forever. It was so aggravating. I kept telling them I had DirecTV for many, many years, NOT Comcast....but their reps just would keep arguing with me. Comcast then tried to insist they had to send a tech out to our house to search our house. This was sheer lunacy. I asked them in all these years of Comcast service, WHERE did it ever show on ANY bill that I had their TV service? They agreed with me that a TV modem and TV service had never ever appeared on any of my bills. They also admitted that they had no record of this. Well, then why were they JUST NOW billing me for a TV modem we BOTH agreed I never HAD? They repeated they needed to send a tech (or techs) out to search my house. Um NO, I was not subjecting my home to a "search" by their techs! WHO did they think they were? Back to the FCC; and in the end Comcast finally stopped sending me bills. My file of documentation on this nightmare is extremely thick. I plan to keep all my Comcast documentation and records forever. I obviously can't trust them. Reading all the other reviews, and seeing the Youtube video (audio recording) that was broadcast on NATIONAL T.V., proved to me that this mistreatment seems to be the "norm" for Comcast. If I could give a lower rating, I would. I hate COMCAST. Just have to vent. Saturday I spent 53 minutes on the phone with a very nice rep who then transferred me to tech support to schedule a trouble call - then after holding for about 5 minutes, the call was disconnected! I'm so angry. This means another phone call and it's on an issue that I first reported on MAY 8th! So...we were scheduled for an appointment between 2-4 p.m. Thank goodness my husband was home for the confirmation call at 1:30 or they would not show up (as I know from previous experience - thus extending the actual window of time that you have to be available). So at 3:15 hubby gets a call that they can't make it after all! So far no call to reschedule but since we actually WORK, and aren't usually home during the hours that are convenient for Comcast, we've agreed were OK with dumping Comcast. Interesting side note: every time I try to type "Comcast" my phone wants to write "combat"! Now that's what I call a SMART PHONE! Oh, and that nice note from someone monitoring the Xfinity facebook page who said he is so sorry about our experience and wanted me to private message him...yeah, he vanished into thin air. Called 9/17 - Account has been turned off, will see some residual for a few days but not paying for that. Don't worry, only will be billed for used services. Called 9/24 - Takes a few days eff date was noted as 9/16, $50.08 was only thing owed. If I pay that it will be paid in full with no issues (96 and chance total bill). 10/07 - Well that's your perogative sir... Checked online bill and it was 145. Billed for unpaid balance (despite told not billed after 9/16). Spoke to Jose who said it shows clear. Req to speak to floor supervisor. Explained how last time I was told "system still hasn't updated yet," and prior to that I was told "system hasn't updated." Which was sox 3-4 week diff. Only owe $3.47 now. Kelton (ID: Q2). Only bill they send will be 0 balance. I received the first bill after canceling because system hasn't updated. Unsure why I received the second bill with the $46 as unpaid balance when I didn't have service. No explanation as to why this bill had HBO service when I didn't have HBO service prior to canceling. Outtages, bills that rise every month for no reason, and terrible customer service. Here are just a few examples of Comcast's miserable service: -Your bill will magically change month to month for no reason. -You will occasionally get randomly charged for things you've never had, like a leased cable modem from Comcast. -When you call for technical help, there's only one thing that every rep says: power cycle your modem. -If you dispute a charge and call them, they will tell you your account has been credited for the next month. Hint: it won't be. Comcast does this over and over hoping that you'll forget or just plain given up. -Comcast will automatically "upgrade" your service when your contract expires. Not just charging you the normal price for whatever you had; they will actually upgrade your service, giving you more channels, but charging you more without ever asking. I've had them before so they said there would be no installation fee. But they lied. Therefore, I have over a $300.00 bill for living here a month! Been a customer since since 2014 always had issues with communication, and reliability from them. By far this has been the worst year yet. It's been officially 1 week and 1 day since my house has had access to the internet. When I called customer service, not only was I given the run around for days, but I spoke with 4 different representatives who could not offer me a solution. It wasn't until I spoke with Seasha, a highly skilled professional, who knows how to go above and beyond for the customer, that my issue was resolved. She was able to offer more of a solution then the two "supervisors" I spoke with. She took care of my problem in a timely manner and assured me about my appointment scheduled for this upcoming Friday. My faith is somewhat restored in this company Solely because of her. read more

Their recording says an outage in my area and won't transfer to an agent. This is unacceptable for a company of their size. The support is not only useless, but takes enormous time. In the past I happened to write down their phone number, so that's how I managed to contact a person. I believe this is the only way now. Anyway, it's no good. I am trying to set up Port Forwarding. I spent 30 min on the phone with a person who at the end told me that she needed to escalate the issue and I would receive a call back within 10 min. Of course, nobody called me. Instead a couple of hours later I received a text message saying that they fixed the issue. Yes, you guessed it right! The issue was not resolved! Today I replied with N on the text and received a call. First, I had to explain the guy what port forwarding is, he mixed it with call forwarding. Then, after another 1 hour talk and him contacting a more knowledgeable (I guess) person, he came back to me and suggested me to reboot my desktop machine(?). When I asked him what does it have to do with my computer, he mumbled that there could be something wrong with it. I suggested to disconnect from Comcast modem, clear the browser cache - it seemed that I was speaking Chinese to him. I wondered if he wanted to know what operating system I am using - he does not know what this is! So his final prescription was to replace my modem with a newer one. Considering that I have received the modem a couple of months ago, I doubt that it will help. Anyway this is the current status. Depending on who you talk to you get a different story about everything. They disconnect you and then they don't even call you back. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they say they could put a request in but it could take up to 72 hours. I'll probably be seeing them in court since I'm already wanting to drop th his service. They will try to charge me a penalty. But they have reneged on their contract. I'm supposed to get 100 MBS. I am only getting 15. They say on their end it shows I am getting what I am suppose to get. I am sick of the Comcast monopoly. I thought that monopolies were supposed to be illegal? I recently moved, and went online to arrange the move. They gave me a time for Saturday, August 6. When I called later that week to verify, they said that the order never went through and the next available appointment was August 10. I told them that I am a schoolteacher and can't be home until 4:00, so I would need the 4-6 time slot. August 9 rolls around and I get a call that is confirming my appointment between 2-4. I called again and had to wade three minutes on their automated recording before speaking to a person. I told them that I needed the 4-6 appointment as originally agreed. She said sorry, there is nothing available at that time and the next appointment isn't until Saturday the 13th. I said I can't wait that long because I work often from home and need internet. In the end, Xfinity screwed up my appointment time *twice* and just expects me to be okay with it and wait a whole week while they get their heads out of their keesters. I have been a Comcast customer for many years and it is beyond me why I keep renewing my services with them. Comcast provides internet, tv and telephone services to your home. My husband and I have the double play package which includes cable and Internet. At one point, we had HBO, Showtime and Starz Network but we had to discontinue those channels because it was getting way too expensive; our bill was over $200 a month so we downgraded and removed the premiere channels. We got a special double package price of $90 a month which includes 140 channels and high speed internet. The rep told us she would lock us in at that price for one year; not true!!!!! Our first bill was discounted because we paid our previous bill before we downgraded our package. The following bill was $109! Wait what? What happened to the $90 rate? I called Comcast and the rep explained to me that every bill has taxes and box fees that are added to every statement; oh geez!!!! The next two bills were at the same price for $109 then the next month jumped up 10 additional more dollars making it at $119 for our bill. We received no warning that our bill was going up in price. We noticed that the trend of increasing fees kept repeating itself and jumping up in price every three months; so please be aware of that. On a couple of occasions, our tv would black out and the picture on the screen would freeze. We called Comcast and they said they would send a signal to our box; the signal would not work so we would go without tv for a night; honestly no big deal but it kind of makes me mad. Nothing wrong with our tv by the way because it is still fairly new. Comcast contacted us to see if the signal worked and we told them, it didn't work for the night. They mentioned if the box was not working then we would have to pay for a new one; I told them it was not cool that we would have to pay for their mistake. The woman seemed irritated and hung up on me. I never bothered calling her back. As far as internet goes, it's okay. No real problems with it but I would advise taking your money elsewhere. Comcast robs people of their money and increases your fees all the time without notice. My husband and I are currently looking for other options for internet and television. We signed up with Xfinity/Comcast in 2016 or 2017 and have been with them since. We were told we signed up with a promotion where $200 would credited to our bill after 1 year. That 1 year came and went and the $200 never fell off. To date the $200 has not been paid which reflects in our bill history. Xfinity will not honor the credit their representative told us about at signing. We have his notes and break down of what was explained with our original paper work. The Manager I spoke with said we were not charged an installment fee... That is not what my concern is the issue is the $200 your agent told us would fall off of our bill! Currently I am on hold and the recording says up tp 1 hour and 12 minutes but if I hang up someone can call me back in 12 minutes; but they never do so on hold I stay. Not to mention it took 8 minutes of being jacked around on the recorded monitoring system. This is beyond frustrating! Also, I can't cancel my services unless I pay my account in full. Do not go with this company!. They hire liars and steal your money. Last point, their online customer agents are rude and disrespectful! They called my by my first name as if shouting and then proceeded to be condescending. In February 2022, Comcast gave me a cable box to use for basic cable. They told me the box was free. I did not connect the box, so in April they charged me $8.50 plus $2.15 in fees and taxes for NOT using the box. When I called customer service they told me I would have to send the box back in order to not be charged, for a box that was supposed to be free to use their services. In May I saw that they charged me a second time $8.50 plus $1.13 taxes and fees, even though I had sent it back on May 5th. Finally, on my June bill I saw that they reimbursed me $9.35 of the $20.28 I had been charged. This means I am still out $10.93 for NOT using a box I was told was free to use their services. $10 may not sound like a lot especially when inflation is so high, but in principle I feel cheated. I work long hours as a hospital nurse, so I don't have a lot of time to constantly call customer service to try to understand why my money was taken in this way, and I feel like they are counting on this fact. In short, I would never recommend COMCAST, and will be wary of any offer they claim is "free." read more

DO NOT TRUST COMCAST. Xfinity is a lot like Microsoft Windows in the 1990s - ALWAYS CRASHING !!! TONS OF ERROR MESSAGES. You Always have to unplug the system and let it reboot - and even then wait for the spinning wheel to spool up for typically 10 minutes. This happens AT LEAST 5 TIMES A WEEK. Calling the 800 number is a waste of time. They are rude and unhelpful. Omg!! Comcast sucks!! I was trying to get service with Comcast, they send a guy out that doesn't speak English when I asked him for there phone number he refuse to give them to me, they then set up appointments that they never showed up nor call, then a week goes by I come home from work to find out they have sprayed painted bright orange paint on my rocks and grass to mark something, I call them up 4 times and spoke to a supervisor to tell them "do not dig my property" they acknowledge of course a week later I came home from work, I see them finish burying up a cable in my yard!! WTH.. now they won't take their shit out of my property they are just passing me along every time I call!! read more

It only gets worse...I just got a robot call from Comcast telling me I need to schedule another tech appointment. As I struggled to explain to the last rep, the issue was not taken care of and a tech would have to check the system inside my home. The rep sitting in front of a computer some place in India, told me I was wrong because his computer told him so. He did not take the time to listen to the issue at hand and what I was told by a Comcast supervisor. So again, I need to schedule a 4th tech appointment, waste my time and money, and have I have little faith the problem will be fixed. And guess what, I can't find another internet provider in Sac that offers the same speed. This is a good example of a monopoly run amok. Bring back cartoon network. First of all it is super hard to get a person on the phone. Some things just can't be done online. Second of all the price is through the roof. You get a good deal when you sign up but then it more than doubles after your promo period. Worst of all is they put cartoon network in the premium channel list. The Comcast customer service is the worst. Even when we received a call about how poorly we rated the service they called us and then when we asked if they could call back at a more convenient time, it never happened. We have terrible service and getting any support from a competent technician has almost never happened.It's kind of crazy that we live in Silicon Valley and we can't get decent service. There must be a better service we can get!! When pandemic is over we will begin a serious search. read more

Comcast service is so poor. I started receiving Comcast service in Feb 2018. Since then my service was not working cable tv, for 45 days in feb and April. The lack of of appointments and concern for customers is poor. I received no compensation for my complaints which were numerous. As of today no one has come out to fix my non working service. I give Comcast zero stars. Comcast needs to go out of business. Direct TV, ATT are both 100% better businesses. I will change providers on Monday but I urge potential customers to not bother with Comcast service. read more
