To give credit where it's due, I'll start with the good.... In-store customer service has always been kind, service technicians seem to mean well and when they do show up they come on time, and when the network works it works great. The experience I had with this company stunned me by how bad it was. Their errors in order of chronology: 1. My first router with them had the wrong setup instructions. 2. The app's feature to schedule a technician to help set the wifi up was broken. 3. The technician that came out said that they gave me the wrong gateway model and did not fix my wifi. 4. Xfinity did not refund me the $100 for the service tech appointment despite the company's money back guarantee. 5. Xfinity charged me a second activation fee and assigned me to a higher cost wifi plan despite me still getting no network at my home. 6. Xfinity gave me no option to cancel when I requested they do so. 7. The app blocked me from making changes to my account while my wifi was not working. 8. They charged me hundreds of dollars over months of time that I had no wifi and no option to cancel. 9. Xfinity said that second technician that came out would cost me another $100 despite that it didn't get fixed. 10. The second technician that came out had to replace the new router with the old one that I started with saying the "wrong router" story I had been told was false and it just needed to be reassigned to my account. 11. Every call to this point to customer service resulted in no success. 12. Customer service told me that diagnostics said the wifi was active and therefore there was nothing they could do to fix it. 13. A final customer service call lead the technician over the phone to find out that the company had neglected to wipe the data from the previous users account from the router, and fixed that issue which allowed me to finally set up my wifi after 3-4 months of having none. 14. After notifying the company of my need for refunds they informed me they didn't have any record of those charges and therefore couldn't accurately issue one. 15. I had to pay them close to half a thousand dollars just to have them admit their mistake in giving me a router assigned to someone else and reset it to my account with one click. 16. They say have a money back guarantee policy but that is completely false. 17. The third technician they were going to send out got auto-cancelled since they checked my router (while still assigned to someone else's account) and saw that it was working since it was plugged in but were unable to solve that issue with two technicians, 5 or 6 times contacting customer service, and visiting the store employees. 18. The robot on customer service took 20 minutes and was clearly broken as it would only take yes for an answer out of the array of options it presented 19. The people at the store every time keep identifying me by another persons name and number despite the fact that I gave them my ID and contact info more times than I can count. 20. Theres always several employees not doing anything just hanging out in the store even when there's a line of customers. 21. They offered a phone line and I did not accept the offer and declined paying for it and tried to charge me anyway, causing me to close that bank account and open up a whole new one. As I said, credit where it is due, they have a great product when it works, and every employee and service technician I've been helped by seemed to genuinely care about their job and helping fix the issue going on. But the amount of mismanagement in their service delivery as a whole company lands them at either #1 or #2 of the lowest rated companies to buy from and work for nationwide, and on apps where reviews are not faked or unfiltered, they rarely are able to earn anything above one star.
