Generally I liked it here but last night my to go order wasn't correct I was still charged for something I didn't order and there was no manager on to complain to or fix the problem. "I'm so sorry" was all I was offered. I could have waited another 20 minutes to get the correct order but I was soaking wet after get caught in the rain and was cold and tired. Really good! We sat at the bar- we were greeted right away-very comfortable and friendly service. Great selection of draft beer and wine and we noticed the copper mugs for Moscow Mules which we will try next time! The pizza was $5.99 for a 16 inch pie and was delicious! This is my favorite Italian place. My wife and I take our 4 school age children and order a bucket of pasta. Service is always quick and friendly. The side without the bar is counter service but there always seems to be room to sit. The kids like the garlic bread. Overall a 10 in my book! read more

The food here was decently good, but the service was kind of terrible. We didn't get table settings until we asked for them three times, and even then we did not get napkins until we asked for them a fourth time. We were given our appetizers (including meatballs) when we didn't even have silverware and the waitress didn't think to bring us the table settings until we asked her to. The waitresses seemed to be pretty overwhelmed, and it took a while for our food to come out. Three of us got our food, but one of us did not receive his meal for a long time, until after the rest of us finished our own meals. I would not recommend this place for dining in. This was not what we expected!! The homemade red sauce tasted like it came out of a jar!! We ordered the veal Parmesan with ziti and one with mess!! It was a mess!! Nothing different than with ziti!! Big disappointment!! We ordered the house red wine which was $12 a glass. Really? The waitress didn't have any clue on the price. No wine menu yet! We were surprised when we got the bill. If I could give 0 stars, I would! Absolutely the WORST experience ever!!! The service...horrible! The food...MORE than horrible! On the recommendation of our waitress, I ordered one of their "specialties", eggplant parmesean with "home made Cavatelli". I honestly can NOT explain just how horrible this 'meal' was! The "cavatelli" was like I.V. tubing...it looked like it, and had about the same texture. The eggplant...well I don't think there was any eggplant. It was just like paste, and it was served tepid at best. The bartender/manager offered to "heat if up more" after I complained. He instead brought me "a new one". It was tepid again, and just as pasty and disgusting as the first piece. Truly inedible!!! By this time, Kaitlin, a waitress or whatever...maybe arm candy for the bartender...I'm not sure, was about as bitchy as it gets! Her nasty, better than thou attitude and silent treatment was more than obvious!! Moving on, my dining partner ordered a gluten free pizza. Before you snicker, they have come a long way! NOT at Comella's!!! The edges of this pre-fab frozen crust were burnt, while the center was raw. It had ZERO flavor! The sauce was disgustingly bland. Again, an inedible offering. Before I forget to mention it...when you are at a "home made italian" restaurant, do you expect to be listening to Vince Gill and Garth Brooks?!? You can get some good country music to accompany your fake italian food here. Bottom line, there is nothing "Home Made Italian" about this place. The only thing cheesy about this place was the atmosphere and employees. Don't let them take your hard earned money. You will leave feeling 'duped'. Don't walk...RUN away from Comella's in Hingham. We've tried this place twice. The first time we had mediocre pasta dishes and overpriced drinks. We went a few nights ago to try the pizza. The 16" cheese pizza is only $5.99, such a deal. They have specialty pizzas that range from $12.99 - $15.99. You can also create your own with many toppings. Nowhere on the menu does it say the price of the toppings. We had to ask the waitress. She said that meat toppings are $3 and veggies are $2, so we ordered a chicken and mushroom pizza. After about a half hour the manager approached us and said that they burnt our pizza and he didn't want to bring a burnt pizza to our table. That's a good policy, I guess. He said that another one would be out shortly, if not, he would comp the cost of the pizza. Well it took about 15 more minutes for the pizza to arrive. We were both starving at this point. Overall, the pizza was mediocre. I could hardly find any chicken, and the mushrooms on top were not even cooked. I had thought that the pizza would have been comped, but instead I was charged $13.99 for the pizza. That's $8 additional for 2 awful toppings. The waitress was good, so I tipped her well, but I'm done with this place because the food sucks and is overpriced. I will return to the many other pizza joints in the Hingham / Hull area with much better pizza and they charge you the correct prices. Probably the most mediocre place to get food in all of Hingham! My husband and I love the fact that you can order via app, so for the sheer convenience of it we've ordered from here three times. The food is done quickly- almost always in about a half hour, but the quality just isn't there. Last night my husband ordered is a buffalo chicken pizza and chicken Parmesan. The chicken parm was ok, but had a strangely sweet tomato sauce. The pizza was just weird- it was a regular cheese pizza (crust, cheese, red sauce) with chicken, blue cheese dressing, and buffalo sauce over the top. In the past the wrap sandwiches were pretty good but the broccoli chicken Alfredo was just terrible- swimming in mozzarella cheese that didn't seem to belong and sporting a grainy and bland sauce. The prices are good and the ease of ordering is great. Although it's the least wonderful food in all of Hingham (try alma nove, crow's landing, or even beerworks), I'm sure we will find ourselves lazily opening the app up and taking a hopeful chance in the future. read more

Food was average at best. Having homemade in the name is very misleading. The food is without a doubt not made to order. Our server was way over her head managing far too many tables than she could handle. My husband received his meal about 10 minutes after mine and my son's came out. We had two great pasta dishes. Not perfect, but they were terrific for the price. Eggplant parm homemade with a mandolin, thin sliced in layers. Quality marinara. The portions were normal but the plates were weirdly small - technically the kitchen was closed so this may not have been SOP. They were super nice about accommodating us even though it was past 9pm and they were only supposed to serve pizza and salads. And by the way the pizza is EXCELLENT. And again, you can't beat the price. Airy dough, good sauce, great toppings (sausage and mushroom fyi). Our waitress Audrey was super nice, the bartender was awesome too. A couple things they could improve - better wine and craft beer selections, and keep the kitchen open with a full menu until 10 on summer weekends. omg I love this place , I had the home made pasta that was perfectly cook. I also had the eggplant that was also very good. My friend had the veal. I tried a bite and plan to go back as soon as i can. I want to start at one end of the menu and try everything they make. If you don't like their food then you don't like great Italian cooking.
