Let me start out by saying that my ACTUAL massage was a 5 star massage, it was one of the better reflexology massages I've had. It's $29 for a 1 hr foot massage and oh boy was I a relaxed pile of goo by the end of it. They have you fill out a paper at the beginning telling them what kind of pressure you would like and any areas you want to focus on or avoid, that was awesome as I've never seen a reflexology place do that. Absolutely no complaints about the actual massage but the place is a little stuffy as I didn't feel a lot of air circulation. For the value of the massage though it's not that big of a deal. Since you will be fully clothed, be sure to wear comfortable non-heavy clothing (workout gear, tank tops and t-shirts). We were drawn a foot bath to soak our tired feet and covered up with towels. Immediately I closed my eyes, cleared my mind and slipped into a place of relaxation. For $25 don't expect a spa resort retreat. No whirlpools, saunas, steamrooms, private treatment rooms or customized body treatments. As one previous reviewer pointed out, the massage seemed a bit rehearsed, but I must say it was still very thorough and enjoyable. The massages are of the deep-tissue variety, so if this style is not your thing, you may want to let them know if they can tone down the pressure. Caveat: you may hear the phone ringing several times or guest checking in up in the front room during your massage. I will never come back here. I came here after work, to get a relaxing massage, instead, I had an obese Asian version of Winston Churchill, mouth-breath all over me for about 50 minutes. I couldn't even hear the relaxing spa music over his breathing, every time he switch sides, he would take this very disturbing sigh, I had a clenched fist the entire time from stress. He even scratched my eye lid on accident with his thumb nail, when I opened my eyes because it hurt, and I was wondering what the hell just happened, I saw his gnarly thumb nail, it looked like Frodo Baggins' big toe nail. The massage itself was lopsided, on one side he would use his elbows, but by the time he switched over, I guess he would forget, and used his fingers on the other. So actually, this was my first time coming to such a business and also new to California, learning that this State are know for their $25 dollar massages. Though this place was not a first good impression. The Men whom work there are smokers so during the whole massage I had to reap the smell. I hope menthol is good for your face b/c it felt like a cigarette was being rubbed into my face. As I was getting my massage I heard another customer, as they were leaving say "No smoking next time ok". the massage was not at all pleasurable, and the respect level I do not appreciate. In town for a work conference and a coworker and I wanted massages. They spa at the Hyatt was being remodel so we took to yelp to find something in town. Comfoot spa got us in same night for 2 foot reflexology massages. Both my coworker and myself agreed that it was one of the best massages we have ever had!! They stretched us, used pressure points, and massaged. If you don't like your massages with a little pain, then this isn't the place for you. There were times where I almost wanted to cry or say stop, but didn't and it was soooooo worth it. I felt so flexible and relaxed for weeks after the massage!! My experience here was unpleasant enough to finally drive me to create a Yelp account! My fiance and I came in to get foot massages with the knowledge that this is more of a casual, affordable massage experience and not a fancy spa. We've been to plenty of places like this before, and we're okay with that. Even with that in mind, both of our massages were mediocre at best. The pressure was incredibly light, and my massage guy at least didn't seem to know what he was doing at all. It was more of a foot caress than a foot massage, plus occasional random jabbing. So the massage was blah. But where things really fell apart was how incredibly badly they treated us when we tried to pay. There was a sign requesting cash instead of credit cards where possible, and trying to be helpful, I tried to pay the $40 bill with a hundred (I didn't have enough smaller bills to cover $40). I asked if a 100 was okay, and the guy said yes. Naively, I didn't count the bills he gave back to me after taking the hundred. After he gave me change for the hundred, I also handed him a tip. We thanked him and turned to leave, at which point he grabbed my arm, pointed to the price list, and said "40 dollars." I was confused, because I'd just given him $100 and a tip. Then he started saying "one person," so I guessed maybe he thought I'd only wanted to pay for myself and not my fiance, and that he'd given me $80 back instead of the $60 I had assumed. I apologized and gave him another $20. Then in the middle of the quiet massage room, he started YELLING at me in Chinese. Not knowing Chinese, I didn't know what I'd done wrong. Finally, the only thing we could figure was that, 1. He was running some scam on us, or 2. He had given me change for my entire $100. Why would you take a customer's money when they're trying to pay for their massage and give all of it back in smaller bills? I wished I would have counted my money beforehand, but I didn't, and so finally I just gave him another $20 so we could get out of there. I was done being screamed at with everyone staring at me. As we turned to leave, they asked for a higher tip. Astounding. I wish we could have taken back the original tip at that point. I don't know if they were trying to scam us or if this was a genuine misunderstanding, but either way there's no excuse for the way they treated us. It's completely unacceptable to grab or scream at a customer that way, especially when they tried to pay you already. I left upset, embarrassed, and angry, and there's no way in hell I'll be back. I doubt anyone from the business cares enough to read their reviews, but at least I can warn some unsuspecting people what they might be in for. read more

I think seeing this place at the end of one of the main streets in downtown Monterey, was the first time I noticed a Foot massage place - it was possibly last summer that they started popping up everywhere. I remember my boyfriend asking me if I wanted to go see how much the foot rubs were after we'd walked around Monterey for the day. I love feet. I love everything about them. But an hour of someone rubbing my feet sounded really boring. He convinced me to just go find out the price so we went in - I also asked if there was something less than an hour but she assured me I would enjoy the full hour. I was shocked to see a dark room of people being massaged. Some laying on their stomachs, some on their backs. She showed us to a locker to put our belongings in and whispered for us to come lay down on what ended up being the most comfortable chair I've ever sat on. She laid clean towels on top of the chair and we melted down after the long day. The next hour was a full body massage. For $25 I received an hour of pure joy. It was so relaxing, very clean, and honestly this is the first place I can remember that started what now seems to be a trend. It's the best one though. I've been to a couple "foot" (full body) massage places in the Bay ARea that are the same price but not nearly as wonderful. Or as clean, or quiet. And dark. Sometimes you are in private rooms (at other places) but it didn't bother me to be in a room with other people. It's not weird or awkward. Your clothes are on. I believe these professionals must be reflexologists rather than massage therapists. Maybe its a combination but this isn't the kind of massage you want if you have a specific need or an injury. It's more of a general form. For a more healing massage, the best ones for the money always seem to be chiropractic offices. A robust sneeze is the only excuse I need to head over. 1 hour/$25 = head to toe massage full off ooo's and aaah's and the occasional ouch. Some of the fellas view the clothing boundary as more of a suggestion than a law, and I'm okay with that because my eyes are closed and they may as well be Ryan Gosling. This place is GREAT for a massage. Now, when you are getting a full body massage for $25, be realistic. You are wearing clothes and you are in a place that is setup like a movie theater with 8 recliners. However, once you are in the chair and have your toes in the warm water with the towel on your eyes, you quickly forget about it. The place is clean and well kept. They have little lockers in the place to use for your stuff while you get your massage. I recommend wearing loose clothes or something like a small t-shirt and yoga pants or something similar. They massage your head, neck, arms, shoulders, legs, hands and back. The best part, however is the foot massage! It is wonderful. This place has one amount of pressure though, hard. So if you don't like deep tissue, then let them know in advance, otherwise they will beat you up a bit. I love deep tissue though, so I don't mind the hard pressure. I normally fall asleep during the foot part. For only $40, you can extend your massage to an hour and a half. It is a bargain for the price and you can normally get in without a wait. An hour later, I get a voicemail from ComFOOT, stating that they are getting a group of people for that time block, so the lady asked me to push it back by 30 minutes. I called back to let them know that the 30 minute change is not an issue. Kinda jacked up that they changed my schedule so that they could make more money off a big group. Not an issue... So I show up at the adjusted time, only to find out that no one is available at that time. All the massagers were occupied. Great tension release. Great traditional massage technique. Great price. I wouldn't ever have come, except a friend gave me a gift certificate and now I'm hooked. Have come 6x in the last year after discovering it. And am inclined not to yelp to keep it a hidden gem. But these guys (and gals and mostly older middle age hard working people) deserve praise for a job very well done. They deliver on communal style, fully clothed foot and body massage. This isn't The Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa. Far from it. No views. No hot tub. No private room. Been there (and many other top notch places) and those other experiences are wonderful in their own way. But I also pay $250+ for the views, the hot tub, the private room with soothing Enya-like music. At ComFoot at a strip mall like setting, I paid 1/4 to 1/5 of price but have gotten consistently good knots ease out of my tired shoulders, back, legs, and feet. I went to Monterey with my family and we wanted a massage . The first place we walked to looked super janky and smelled like feet. This place was able to accommodate all four of us and was only 25 for a hour long full body massage. The massage I received was super relaxing . He wasn't squeezing hard where it felt like he was trying to hurt me but just enough to smooth out the knots. I would definitely come back since they were professional and actually know what they're doing. The only thing i thought was weird is the creepy dog that looks fake on the receptionist desk. Use your Reflexology! Quick and simple... The girl and I was on a downward spiral into no man's land until we both got a massage here. We both came out relaxed and with positive energy flowing through our bodies. They really work on the places that needed it the most. I was really tense coming in, but was so much more relaxed coming out. From the head to the back, everything seemed to be worked on. If one point was really tense, they will literally spend a few minutes working out the knot. Warning, they will use a ton of pressure when working on the know, but you will be glad they did at the end of the session. But, if everyone had one of these once a week... This place is muuuuch better than their main competitor "happy foot". They are more professional, and definitely keep it much quieter than the other place. The chairs are soooo comfortable and the massage feels soooo good, especially for $25. I was expecting a massage focused mainly on the feet since that is how they advertise it, but the full body massage from head to toe is a BIG plus!! :) The only downside is that it's a bit hard to communicate with everyone who works there, but there's really not much to say so it's not a problem at all. They do talk among each other on occasion, and since you are sharing a room with everyone else getting massages, it is not the most serene place on earth, but for the price it's an amazing hour experience. The wife and I spent a weekend recently in the area, and decided to make a day trip up to Monterey to visit the aquarium and after walking around a while, we were in need of some foot relief. Enter ComFOOT. Customer service is pretty straightforward considering the lack of English fluency, but you're not paying $40 for 90 minutes of smiles, for cryin' out loud. My masseuse started by placing my feet into a warm bucket of water with presumably some epsom salt. They then concentrated on my feet and lower legs, which was sorely needed. Then they lowered the back of the seat and massaged my neck, arms and upper legs. I figured that I was done at that point and was totally satisfied. Then, the guy told me to flip over! I flipped faster than a flapjack. Full back, leg, neck and arms were massaged on that side as well. What an amazing deal! read more

I loved this place. So much so that I actually am writing a review, which I never do. My boyfriend and I are visiting from San Francisco and felt like a massage. We go to places like this in our area and after looking at a couple, decided to try this place...I AM SO GLAD WE DID. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful and the staff friendly. We had a reservation and they got us in right on time. My feet feel amazing and light. We both walked out happy and feeling rejuvenated and while chatting discovered that our attendants had focused in different parts of the massage, the sorest spots on us both. His massage was harder and focused on his strained neck (without him mentioning it) and avoiding a bruised toe. Mine was more gentle but somehow he hit every part of me that was sore after the gym yesterday. We both had pressure points targeted but not the same ones. The woman working who seemed to be in charge was super bossy and not at all clear which massage i was getting. What a treat. My wife and I decided to follow up on a coupon to have foot massages. We didn't even know what to expect. The obviously asian presentation was 8 lounge chairs with a dark but clean and quiet environment. There was a large flat screen television on the wall playing serentiy scenes. In a matter of 5 minutes, are feet were soaking in hot water and the next hour was basically a chair massage of extreme skill. We were so relaxed afterwards. A one hour vacation from the real world for 25 bucks. We tipped (probably more than one should) and came back the next day. We were not disappointed. Perhaps other yelpers know about foot massage, but I think it is a bit misleading. I would say it is a total relaxation massage with your clothes on and in a comfortable get back to work atmosphere. I'm no massage connoisseur and should add that the only two times I've been to where both at ComFoot in Monterey. However I really enjoyed the service and am hooked for another visit! Drawn initially by the price ($25 for an hour foot massage) I discovered that one actually gets a full complete service, starting from the forehead going all the way to the toes. The quality of the service well exceeded my expectations (although it was rough at times). I was so relaxed after the first session that I couldn't stand up or talk straight for an hour and I nearly fell asleep during my second session! The only draw back is that all the stations are in a shared room, which allows for slight disturbances of other customers leaving and entering.
