I met with Jack from Ultimate Comfort twice when he was helping with an estimate for a Mini Ductless Split AC unit for my condo. In the end I decided to go with a different company, but Jack and the Ultimate Comfort team were nothing but helpful through the entire process. It seems that Ultimate has a partnership with Daikin- these are high quality AC units, but it also means there is no comparison or other models suggested in the pricing/estimate process. The people at Ultimate are some of the nicest, most professional service people I have ever encountered. The technicians are remarkably knowledgeable and respectful (towards me and my home). I am especially impressed as I can only imagine the pressure they are under to help people with HVAC issues - whether hot or cold days. I have to comment that I sometimes feel like I am chasing them down to find out the status of my appointment. I do understand that they have many balls to juggle, yet communication seems to need a little tweaking. That said, in my experience, they work very hard to schedule the soonest appointments possible. I greatly appreciate that Ultimate worked hard to replace a faulty AC unit. They had installed it less than 2 years earlier. This company is the *best*. We hired them years ago to install a gas fireplace (upon the recommendation of the folks who fixed our firebox and hearth). Ultimate Comfort did a fantastic job. Ralph, the owner, was quick, courteous, knowledgeable and professional, and he offered a fair price. When the time came to replace our water heater and furnace--and to move all of it out to the garage--we contacted Ultimate Comfort again. We *did* get other bids. One was a few hundred cheaper than Ultimate Comfort, and three others were more expensive (one by almost $10,000). In the end, we hired the company we knew would do the job right and offer us a level of customer service rarely seen in today's world. Ultimate Comfort's crew, Sterling and Steven, worked on our job for several days. Both men were markedly professional, polite and tidy. Our crawlspace is dank and rather spooky--who knows what's living down there--yet these two champs tackled the job with a cheerful disposition. I would seriously cry were I forced to work in such an inhospitable environment. Bless their brave souls. They also answered my 1,234 questions with grace and patience. More important: They did the job right. Safety is No. 1, and I have zero doubts about their skill and knowledge. Both units and their install passed inspection this morning, so I'm not simply assuming they did their jobs well. Once again, Ralph, the owner, was refreshingly attentive and responsive. This was a big job, with lots of moving parts and subcontractors to manage. Ralph hired great people who did solid work for a fair price. I never felt as if he were trying to make an extra buck for the subcontractors; I knew he was doing his best for me. And truth be told, I'm a wee bit high-maintenance, and Ralph was super patient. I received quotes from 3 different companies for Central A/C to be installed into my house. Not only was Ultimate Comfort the best price, but they were the most thorough in reviewing everything, telling me where things could potentially go sideways, and explaining the process to me. I even received good financing through them. On the day of the installation, the team was professional and quick. They answered all my questions, gave me some tips on care for my unit, and were generally very helpful. In addition I appreciate that this company seems to take care of their employees. My furnace is in the attic and they called to see if they could come earlier in the day so the work wouldn't need to be done in the heat. I thought that was very fair and reasonable! Most companies wouldn't even bother asking, they would just make their employees deal with it. I would absolutely recommend Ultimate Comfort. A tech came out to service our furnace and A/C unit in September 2018. They charged about $200. A few months later I noticed a pool of water in front of the furnace. At first I thought it was a leak from a bottle of windshield washer fluid, so I cleaned it up and threw out the bottle. I noticed another pool of water in front of the furnace last week. This time I realized that it was coming from the condenser pump on the furnace. I called Ultimate Comfort back and they sent out a tech. The tech replaced the pump (without calling to tell me he was doing it) and charged $311. I called and asked why this wasn't discovered and dealt with during the service call in September. They said the original tech no longer works with them so they couldn't confirm whether or not he looked at the pump. You would think they would want their techs to keep somewhat detailed records of what they do and don't work on at jobs. I guess not. At the very least they could have offered a partial refund on the second service call, but they didn't seem to care. Of course if a part needs to be replaced, then I'm totally fine with paying for that. I would just like to be informed of that before it happens, and I don't like being charged for two service calls in less than four months. Update: after I wrote this review they emailed me documentation from the first service call that confirms that the condensate area had been checked. I still would have appreciated a call letting me know that the pump needed to be replaced before it was done. read more

If you have an old house and need a heat pump, call Ultimate Comfort and ask to have Jack come look at your place. And call them first. We had two other companies come to quote the job. They both looked at our furnace and gave us a quote. They each spent maybe 10 minutes in our home. Their job was obviously not to figure our what was best for our situation. Their job was to sell a heat pump installation. Jack spent between one and 1-1/2 hours checking out everything about our heating system and inquiring about our needs. He checked every heating vent in our home. He was very clear on why he thought that we should do one of the options that he suggested. He discussed our options at length, and patiently. The quote that he send us a day or so later was very detailed. Our confidence level with Jack and Ultimate Comfort was very high, and well deserved. If we had not had Jack visit and analyze our system, I might have believed one or both of the other HVAC people. The installation was on time and on budget. Everyone on the team has been very courteous, friendly, and had great communication. I was extremely satisfied with my recent experience with Ultimate Comfort. They came out and gave us a quote on a new AC Unit after having received a quote from a big name brand appliance store. Ultimate Comforts prices and approach were much better. They didnt over sell us on something we didnt need. It was a low pressure pitch and we received a quote with in a day of meeting with them. They were able to fit us in within a week of signing paper work and we had the unit installed just before a mini heat wave which was perfect timing. The quality of service and product has been awesome but in my mind what really separated Ultimate Comfort from the other options was the customer service. We needed some electrical work done and Ralph was able to coordinate with an electrician who cost half as much as Sears' electrician and they were able to get the unit in a much better position than previously thought. I am seriously stoked with Ultimate Comfort. They truly delivered in the clutch for me. We didn't end up needing the financing options but they did have some great low interest/no interest options available. read more

Honest, trustworthy, and helpful. We just moved into an old house and were having trouble getting air flow into our second floor. The furnace and A/C unit were also pretty old, and I asked Ultimate Comfort Heating to come out and give me their recommendations on what we should change. With contractors in general, I always expect the used car salesman treatment, where the only advice is to spend a ton of money on their services. I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised to receive none of that. Ralph came out and spent a good 45 minutes inspecting all of the vents from the basement to the second floor, and testing out the furnace and the A/C. He pointed out that with old houses such as ours, it's good to experiment with the dampers to gauge air flow. After a few tests we were able to get nice air flow into the second floor. He also gave me some good advice on cleaning the filters and doing regular maintenance. When he was all finished, he concluded that while my systems were older, they were still in good working condition and didn't need replacing. He also said that by playing with the dampers I wouldn't need to have any duct work done. We parted ways in good spirits, with me not having spent a dime. I just don't know how many people would do what Ralph did: spend almost an hour of his time, give me sound advice, and conclude that I would be well off saving my money and not having anything done at this time. Wow. For future maintenance, and if I decide to make any HVAC changes down the road, there is no one else that I would call. Honesty and integrity are rare qualities these days, especially in certain fields, and I am grateful for having met Ralph, who possesses these traits in abundance. read more

Absolutely awful!!! They put hoses through a storage area, when it was requested that they be in the enclosed attic area. They caused MAJOR unnecessary damage and then used a clause in their very sparse contract to say that it was covered and that they would not compensate us for it. They attempted to raise the price from the contracted price. They agreed to be paid via escrow, then demanded payment in full. Worst of all, they withheld doing the final inspection to gain leverage over us during the final sale. They were given numerous opportunities to rectify the situation. They refused. Poor workmanship, lack of accountability, untrustworthy, and manipulative. read more

Ralph and team did a fantastic job of installing my mini-split heating/AC unit. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is that they had a bit of delay in trying to coordinate all the people necessary to do the installation. This was a bit of a hardship on me since it was the dead of winter, my furnace had failed, though Ralph did manage to get it running temporarily for me at no extra cost. Still it felt like a long wait to get the new unit up and running. But once here, the crew had the unit installed and up and running in a few hours, and spent the time to make sure that I understood how all the various parts worked. I would highly recommend Ultimate Comfort. Hopefully it won't be dead of winter, or during a heat wave when you need their services, since all the essential people are busy during those times of year. read more

I am so thrilled with the work he did and the project was done so quickly which was nice since I didn't have heat in the house at all and he got it all installed in time for the cold spell. We got quite a few quotes from different companies. Ralph (from ultimate comfort let's call them UCH) was the most knowledgeable and flexible by far. While installing, UCH staff came right on time, were very careful with the carpet (they wore booties every time, without us having to mention it even once.) We had one non-standard request- we needed an inline fan to fix some temperature uniformity issues. UCH worked with us to come up with the best plan. Ralph, who is the co-owner of the company, came out to my home to do an estimate for a replacement of an AC. He said he would get back to me in 1-2 days with the estimate. After the two days passed (and the weekend came and went) I called Ralph on Monday asking him if he had completed his estimate for us. He said he thought he had caught up with his estimates over the weekend and said that he would look for the email and call me back. I waited for an hour, two hours, three hours and NO CALL BACK. No email, nothing. So I email Ralph letting him know that we have other offers on the table and would like to take his company into consideration. I also let him know that he was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL by not calling me back like he said he would. I am confused as to why he blew me off like that since it seemed like he wanted to help us.
