I would totally recommend you NEVER go there. I went about 8 months ago because I needed a quick appointment on a Saturday after breaking a small piece of tooth. I saw Dr. R. who said I urgently needed a crown because otherwise my tooth would completely break. I was panicked by his tone, and did not know any other dentist - so I agreed on going through the process for the crown. Now, I really think I should have sought a second opinion. Anyway, the job was done fast, without much indications about the risks, potential side effects or what the dentist was doing while doing it. I got a temporary crown before the permanent. but in the process, Dr. R. got my tooth infected - so I ended up needing a root canal treatment before the crown - and I was told that since my canals were very tight, the Dr. could not got all the bacteria out... reading the other post here, I can see that it is usual for Comfort Dental not to do complete root canals... It was 8 months ago, and now I have a new infection under my crown because of this incomplete root canal. I might end up needing an implant (which is a scary costly procedure that can provoke many problems in the future!). I wish Dr. R. would have told me about all these potential consequences before rushing me into drilling my tooth and getting a crown. I had only lost a very small piece of my tooth, which might have been fine with some feeling - but Dr. R. really advised me to get the expensive crown, he did a sloppy job on the root canal (probably trying to see as much patient as possible in 1 hour) - and now I might be heading for life time problems on my tooth (and I am not even 30 yet!). I have had the misfortune of having had considerable dental surgery over the span of 63 years, including reconstructive and plastic surgery. As a result I have had many fine dentists and surgeons. However as I approached retirement cost control became increasingly important, so I tried a number of different dentists in the Boulder area. Currently my dentist is Lisa Sheldon Coburn, D.D.S. at Comfort Dental Boulder. The office has four independent dentists, their front staff is efficient, effective and polite and helpful. Dental work in this office is clearly an effective team effort that works well. Dr. Coburn did the cleaning herself and it was thorough, I can not remember having such a thorough cleaning since I moved to Boulder in 1976. Her dental assistant did the polishing. Recently, Dr Coburn put a crown on a rear molar, much of the work was done by a dental technician in close coordination with Dr Coburn. I have had not problems since. The office is a bit spartan in nature and not overloaded with unnecessary equipment, all of which drives the overhead and costs up. My out of pocket expenses for the dental work were modest. Keeping in mind that in the insurance industry Boulder is noted for the highest cost dentistry in the U.S. These people do a good job and talking to the other patients in the waiting room I got a similar impression. read more

We were so happy to find Dr. Yeats at the Comfort Dental in Boulder! My husband and I had seen him a few years ago in Westminster, and missed him greatly when he left. When we heard he had moved to the Boulder office, we were more than delighted to drive to Boulder for our dental care. Dr. Yeats is the most personable dentist either my husband or I have ever had. He is friendly, honest, and fair. He maintains a comforting environment, and even when he has bad news, he never makes me feel uncomfortable or guilty. He always seems to make payments manageable when we have needed expensive procedures. Between my husband and I, we have seen Dr. Yeats for crowns, root canals, deep cleanings, and cavities. I have always had a wonderful experience in their office. Let's be real people its the dentist, nobody likes going. But they are there to help you whenever you need them! They even have a doctor on call at all times for their clients for emergencies! I LOVE COMFORT DENTAL OF BOULDER! So all the haters writing bad reviews. Brush your teeth more, and go the dentist more often and you might not find your experience at the dentist office so negative. Lets be honest here. Hello, I recently had a cleaning done from comfort dental at, 3400 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder in Colorado. Dr. McEvoy and his staff went above and beyond, making sure that I had the most pleasant experience possible. I hate getting my teeth worked on, these guys made it a lot less stressful and honestly for the first time it was enjoyable. The team here was easy to laugh with and each individual was relatable and very enjoyable to be around. I highly recommend this comfort dental location to anybody, no matter what your age. They took the time to listen to the issues I was having and took care of each and every one of them. Dr. Sousa and staff have always been kind, caring and reasonable. I switched to Comfort after paying outrageous fees for fillings, crowns and root canals. I'm usually taken in right on time, though have occasionally had to wait only 10-15 minutes. No big deal. Dr. Sousa takes a huge personal interest and is very professional. Her hygienists do perform a lot of the work not requiring the education or skill of the doctor, but they all seem very well trained. And, I can't say the high priced dentist use their hygienists any less. The big question is why is there so little competition in the field of dentistry that one has to search to find such competent, reasonable care as at Comfort Dental? Don Koplen read more

I personally have had a lot of dental work in my...unfortunately, so I have got to view the skillset of plenty of dentists. In the field of dentistry we are looking at about a 15% competency rating...what I mean is 15 out of 100 dentists you meet are actually competent enough to do advanced dental work. I met a competent dentist, Dr Todd Hamiton at Comfort Dental of all places, how weird right, reasonable pricing and excellent dentistry. He probably could charge a lot more if he wanted to as he is one of the few competent dentists I have met in my life, you recognize this immediately. So if you want dental work to last 20 years or more this is your guy, your welcome. read more

All happy ass patients of Boulder's Comfort Dental. myself, both my siblings, my son, my husband, my niece/ nephew...are all patients. His staff has a good humor, I like the energy. Easy. Dr. Yates has returned my phone call while out of town, seen us same day, works around our schedule. He is quick to see you, explain options, deal with insurance. I recently came in with an urgent need to repair a broken front tooth. They got me in right away, the procedure to rebuild the tooth was fast, and the doctor was AMAZING! He was very particular about matching the color of the new piece to my other teeth. You can't even tell where the repair is! My favorite thing about this location is that they don't try to force additional procedures on you to make more money. I had not been to the dentist in many years, and the problems had piled up. I had dental insurance but it would not cover near what was needed. I was in a lot of pain as well. I was planing on going to Mexico to get some of the work done, but Dr Yeats gave me a plan that was manageable within my budget and the insurance constraints. I was able to get a dozen, fillings done, several extractions, and a dental bridge done within 2 months. After reading the reviews on Boulder Comfort Dental, I was very hesitant to check them out. I just returned from getting my first cleaning, x-rays and check-up from there. They were very friendly and my dentist had a very good sense of humor. The only reason I am not giving them a "5 star" is because they are not the top-of-the line, but if you are looking for affordable dental work, good care, and nice office staff I would recommend them. read more

Today I went in for an extraction. The teeth were removed. Dr. Coleman took great care of me made sure i was comfortable and remembered to breath. At one point there was pain, so he stopped added more numbing agent and let it absorb in before he went back to work. Finally he called to check in on me, and make sure i was doing well. They fit me in on a Saturday to get my wisdom teeth out as I was having severe pain. Everyone was incredibly nice and knowledgeable and made sure I consented to the price before they went forward with the proceedure.
