After reading reviews and comments from other families and patients, I can confirm that this is one of the worst clinics to seek treatment or take your loved ones to. I tried three times to make an appointment for the first time, but after my most recent interaction with their front desk representative via phone and text, I decided never to return. The representative I dealt with (I believe her name is Linda, as mentioned in several other reviews) was loud, dismissive, and even came across as threatening in the way she communicated. She constantly spoke over me, interrupted me mid-sentence, and showed zero interest in actually helping or letting me finish my questions. The communication was cold, unprofessional, and unwelcoming. Because of this treatment, I cancelled my appointment altogether and chose another dental office. Management and the clinic's leadership should take these repeated complaints seriously. I had an extremely bad experience with Comfort Dental Center, and this has been the worst dental experience I've ever had. Last year, they performed a root canal that was done poorly. This year, they had to redo the same root canal again. In early April, they took measurements for the crown, but the crown was not installed until late June, which is already an unreasonable delay. About a week or two after the crown was installed, I returned to the clinic because I was in pain. The dentist only prescribed painkillers and antibiotics. I came back again two weeks later, and I was told that "it's getting better." Unfortunately, less than a month later, the pain became severe and unbearable. Because of the poor work they did, I tried to get an appointment as soon as possible, but they refused to schedule me and also refused to let me come in as a walk-in, despite knowing how much pain I was in. I had no choice but to go to urgent care because of the pain. On top of all that, I later realized that they charged me for a dental cleaning in April that never happened. Between the bad root canal work, the delays, the lack of proper follow-up care, refusal to see me when I was in severe pain, and incorrect billing, I absolutely do not recommend this place at all. Avoid Dr. Shahrokh's Office -- Unprofessional and Unfriendly Experience I wish I had read the reviews before allowing Dr. Shahrokh to treat my son. My insurance referred us to this office, and from the very beginning, it was clear that patient care is not a priority here. After my son's consultation we waited for the insurance to authorize the needed treatment for my son's teeth. We were scheduled to come back where his teeth were prepped, I asked to speak with the doctor after about the treatment plan, but Dr. Shahrokh didn't bother to speak with me. I let it go at first, thinking he was busy, especially since his assistant followed up with the next steps. I figured I'd be back in two weeks for the final placement of my son's permanent crowns, and it would all be done. But then the problems began.....about a week and a half before the scheduled crown appointment, someone from the front office called saying we needed to come back because the lab required new impressions. When I asked why and what happened since the doctor had already taken them, the nurse couldn't give me a reason -- just that we had to come in again. Despite feeling uneasy with lack of answers and inconvenienced, I returned with my son. But the doctor -- the only person who could take the impressions -- wasn't there. The staff person had scheduled us without checking whether the doctor would even be in. I was incredibly frustrated. The front office staff, Linda called Dr. Shahrokh to sort out the matter and explain, and to try to put me at ease, and you could gather from the convo he was talking over her on the phone in an unprofessional way. She eventually had to say, very calmly and respectfully, "I'm just going to let you finish so you're not speaking over me. When you're done, let me know so I can speak." At this point, the office already felt more like a circus than a professional practice. Left-hand does not speak to the right! There is more time spent cleaning up other people's mishaps than actual seamless quality patient care. ITS REALLY SAD this is what state issued healthcare is in underserved communities. You are left with the crumbs. If I hadn't already been locked in by the insurance pre-authorization, I would have taken my son elsewhere. Believe me, I tried to find a way around seeking another location for my son, but the insurance told me that they would not re-authorize treatment elsewhere since my son is already mid treatment. So we returned yet again -- the third visit -- and finally the doctor was present. I asked if I could observe or speak with him about my son's treatment. The staff person checked and came back with the answer: No. I asked again to speak directly with Dr. Shahrokh, and again the answer was no. I was stunned. What kind of doctor refuses to speak with a parent about their child's dental treatment? I was then told that the doctor said if I did not feel comfortable with him treating my son then I could leave and take him elsewhere. At this point, I believe this doctor said that to be patronizing knowing that the authorization will not allow me to go anywhere else. In all my years, I've never dealt with a more unapproachable and dismissive healthcare provider in my life. Trust and communication are essential, especially when treating children, and Dr. Shahrokh showed none of it. The only positive in that office is Linda at the front desk -- she is kind, gentle and respectful. But sadly, she spends far too much time defending a doctor who clearly doesn't care about patient experience or respectful communication.This office does not deserve to have her in their employ. Dr. Shahrokh performed a root canal on me to which I've experienced for the first time. He and the team made me feel calm and aware of each step as to not make me feel any type of discomfort. I am pleasantly pleased with the outcome, service and quality of 'bedside manner.' They accept Denti-Cal and most insurance. The only downside really is the parking they share with Domino's. There aren't a lot of parking stalls but if your appointment is during a not so busy lunch, you'll find a spot. read more

I only had an X-ray done here with the assistant thank God. However I waited over a month to get the appointment to have a tooth removed by Dr Shahrokh and he was slimy and rude. He asked to look in my mouth to see the tooth I needed removed, I said aren't you going to put on gloves? He said he wasn't going to touch me that's when I noticed the dirt under his nails. I told the man at the front desk I didn't want Dr Shahrokh touching me for the reasons I mentioned in my comments and I choose to go elsewhere. Unprofessional, unethical, greedy, and rude. They will try to take as much money out of you. It shouldn't be a surprise that most dentists try to overtreat you so they can charge you or your insurance more, and Comfort Dental is not an exception. I got a referral for this office to get a molar extraction due to a failed root canal that caused a painful infection. The doctor, Dr. Shah, refused to do the extraction and stated he would only do a root canal treatment because my molar tooth could still be "saved". That if I wanted an extraction, I should go somewhere else. Of course, root canal treatments are way more expensive than extractions, so this was just a lucrative move. Out of lack of options and my infection getting worse, I accepted. Dr. Shah explained that the process was simply drilling through the crown of my molar and clean it. He guaranteed that it would work. That's it. He never explained that this would required multiple visits, time (to get approved by the insurance each time), and the possibility of this not working. After 4 visits spanning a few months, the infection just kept getting worse. He kept treating the root canal, leaving me with a lot of discomfort. He wouldn't even take the time to explain anything to me. He would just schedule the next visit. I felt like I needed to force information out of him and his assistant. He seems friendly but is extremely condescending and mocks your concerns with "jokes". I got tired eventually and argued that why I am having so much treatment that isn't working. He said that root canal treatments don't always work and that the only thing left to do was to keep coming back, clean the tooth, and wait. His argument was completely different than before. I felt cheated and scammed. I angrily asked for an extraction and he accepted this time, lying that "that was always an option and my decision". Scammer. The extraction finally got rid of my infection. Could've saved time and money if he never refused to begin with. The extraction itself was another problem. He didn't used enough anesthesia (or whatever numbing agent they're supposed to use) and I was feeling the full pain of the extraction at first. Had to be visible in pain for him to ask me if I needed more anesthesia. I assumed he just wanted to save money at my expense. He must've forgot how to do extractions because he broke off pieces of the adjacent teeth. He looks very old, so maybe that's a factor for his lack of motor control with his hands. He also always assumed I spoke Spanish and talked to me in Spanish even though I stated that my preferred language is English... (discriminating much?) He would also sometimes drop his tools on my chest while treating my tooth, which was uncomfortable. The tools weren't necessarily light in weight. He would also waste my time talking to his assistant, testing her with "what is this tool called?" Or "why am I doing this to the patient?" Kind of talk. I get that training is important for the job but not at the expense of the patients and their time--He would stop mid-procedure and I almost choked more than once because of that. Never coming back to this place. The front desk person, "Mike" was also rude in person and by phone. Sarcastic and condescending. Even heard him mistreat his coworker at the front desk because she forgot to get back to a patient by phone regarding some issue. I was told by a surgeon I saw there in November 2024 that if the lump on my gum gets larger or uncomfortable to come in and he will take it out. I went in and advised the doctor and he said he can do this I needed to go to another dentist. He wouldn't/couldn't, elaborate on this and I couldn't understand what he wasn't telling me. He said he was trying to be nice to me and help me, but he should have told me in November that I needed an ORAL SURGEON, not just another dentist. I had such a great experience at this dental office! I called yesterday to make a consultation to get my wisdom teeth removed and they had an available appointment for today, so I went. Priscilla, Dental hygienist, did my x-rays, teeth cleaning and was overall extremely kind and helpful in answering all my questions. Dr. Shah took a look at my X-rays and said he could pull one of my wisdom teeth out today (I was not mentally prepared for that to be his answer lol) but I decided to go through with it since it was bugging me so much. Dr. Shah has a soft hand and I didn't even feel the needle for the local anesthesia. Keep in mind I'm a huge baby with such a low pain tolerance. I kept telling them both how nervous and scared I was and they were both extremely reassuring that everything will be okay. It took Priscilla longer to do my teeth cleaning than for Dr. Shah to remove my tooth!! It literally took him 30 secs to remove it lol so I was scared and nervous for no reason Overall, It was such a great experience! My 2nd wisdom tooth will need to be surgically removed (unfortunately) so I'll be back soon and update my experience on that! I always thought I wanted to be sedated when getting my wisdom teeth pulled out but they completely changed my perspective on this, now I wish I could get my 2nd tooth pulled out this easy. I have been going to this dentist for about 5+years. I loved them when I first started going there but recently I've decided to never come back. The receptionist was very rude and hung up in my face. I called to give a heads up that I would be running 5 minutes late to my appointment. When I walked into the office she was very rude and didn't want to greet me. She then goes to the back and talk to the other staff about me. The doctor walks in 17 minutes later than my appointment and huddles up with the rest of the staff to talk about me so I say I can still hear you all! When the dentist finally checked my teeth for less than 5 seconds, she said I need deep cleaning and irrigation and one of the ladies said it's worth $230. I told them I want to do the regular cleaning for now and they did it for less than 5 minutes. It was the worse teeth cleaning I've ever had it was just like brushing my teeth. This was not a very good experience doctor visit for me and now the office is called Family Dentistry. I went for a retreat of my root canal that turned out to be horrible. The doctor (Dr.Shaw) was very sarcastic and rude when I asked questions he never answered one question directly I asked. He handled my retreat very badly. Which never happened I might add because he didn't know how to get through the substance that the first dentist added that did my original root canal, to even retreat my root canal. And I was told by three doctors I had an infection in the tooth. But this doctor said they don't like to say infection, but use term root canal gone bad. Long story short I left with no root canal retreated and a patched up filling in that tooth that is still infected. And the medicine use to numb my mouth made my heart do something I never felt before it scared me. And when I call to ask what medicine was given to numb my mouth he told his receptionist to tell me the good stuff.
